  • Brookripple looked over BrookClan as cats bustled around, starting their day. This was her Clan. Well, almost hers. She was deputy. Brookripple looked up at the sky. The stars and moon were fading as the light of day came in, but the moon was still visible. Are you happy, dear? That I’ve come this far. If only you were with me . . .

    • Bumblespots –

Bumblespots walked towards the deputy, who seemed to have her head in the clouds
“Has MoonClan spoken to you ? If they have, you should probably go to the leader, if not, I’m pretty sure the prey pile shrinks every second.”
Bumblespots wasn’t exactly scared of the deputy, so they didn’t grovel at her feet. Brookripple was just a cat, who may or may not become the next leader

      • Riverfrost-
Reaching camp Riverfrost slowed down. He lifted his head and look around. He noticed Bumblespots talking with Brookripple. He walked over to the them. “Hello Bumblespots.” he said “Brookripple” he dipped his head a little, but the words felt sour in his mouth. He should be deputy not this she-cat. He forced his pelt smooth and tried to act natural.
“The others wouldn’t have to spend as much time and energy doing what they are doing if our deputy would spend less time in the clouds.” he said and faked a smile at Brookripple.

  • Robinsky padded from the warrior den and saw the deputy and Bumblespots talking. Perhaps about the lack of prey? She rolled her eyes. The only way prey would come was if they hunted for it. She padded quietly out of camp, intending to hunt fish in the river.

    • Silverflower was confused by all the cats hostility towards Brookripple. He thought she was a fine deputy, even if her head was in the clouds most of the time. Seeing Robinsky go out of camp, he flicked his ears.
      “Hey, can I come too?”

  • Hareflight-
Hareflight’s pelt shivered in the light wind. They were on hunting duty for the whole day. At least I can stay away from the camp. Plus, they prey was growing more scarce, so they had to serve their Clan the best they could.

  • (oof everyone hates her)
Brookripple turned her head toward Bumblespots and Riverfrost.
“Well, first, it does not shrink every second. Second, if the Clan needs food so badly, why don’t you two go hunt? A few moments won’t change anything. Great MoonClan, why can’t I have a little peace,” she snapped. Brookripple stalked toward the entrance, deciding to go hunt, like those two stupid cats wished.

  • Hareflight-
Hearing Brookripple say something about hunting, and spotting Robinsky and Silverflower going out of camp made Hareflight get an idea. “Hey, Silverflower, Robinsky, Riverfrost! Can we go hunting together? I know you all are fishers and I’m a chaser, but Cricketsong isn’t here at the moment and we need to hunt! Is that okay?” they called.

    • Riverfrost-
He bristled at Hareflight’s comment. “I’m not a fisher! I’m a chaser.” he snarled flashing his tail angrily. His eyes flashed with anger but once again he calmed himself. “But we could go. I’m hungry, and after there is only enough prey for the queens and kits, we’ll have to hunt.” he said and shook his pelt.

    • Cricketsong –

She pricked her ears up at the sound of her name; was some cat calling for her? Cricketsong padded over to Hareflight, slightly curious. “Did you say my name?”

  • Reedstep –

The small gray-brown she-cat narrowed her green eyes at the hostility brewing in the Clan. What could be wrong? Sure, they hadn’t been that lucky in the prey-department recently, but other than that, things were great. Besides the border skirmishes with the Tribe and BriarClan. And the fact that more and more cats seemed to be losing faith in MoonClan. Plus the new surge in incomers. Not to mention — You know what? I should stop thinking about this.

    • Bumblespots –

Bumblespots sighed as Brookripple walked off, letting out one last cry of
      “I’m a nursery cat ! I’m a terrible hunter !!”
Before heading over to talk to some other cat
“Hey Reedstep, how’s it going ? There’s barely any kits in the nursery, it’s hard to find something to do around here, I’m spending half my time helping the healers !”

      • The apprentice chuckled. “I’ll rejoin the nursery, if you want! This part of my training is so boring… They’re making me learn chaser stuff when I know I’m gonna be a fisher when I get the choice!” She sighed. “I can’t believe I still have two moons until I even get to start training to be a fisher.”

        • Bumblespots –

Laughing, they batted Reedstep playfully around the ears
“Don’t you get like that ! You never know, maybe you’ll be a nursery cat one day ! Or a healer, don’t cut out other options quite yet.”
They grinned at her, Reedstep had been lots of fun as a kit, but always so certain about what she wanted

  • Lightfern –

She padded into camp, dropping a hare and a small rabbit. Quickly placing the prey on the pile, she hurried to leave again because of all the tension that was settled in the air. Why so hostile? It’s your own clan, guys.

  • Brookripple noticed a dark cat running towards the FoxClan border and decided to investigate. When she got there, the forest was quiet like it ever was, and Brookripple thought she was just seeing things. No way a FoxClan cat could outrun her.

  • Robinsky rolled her eyes. “How about you all invite the rest of the Clan to hunt with me as well?” she mewed sarcastically, then sighed. “Alright, you all can come, but that’s it! No more cats can come to join our patrol! Now, let’s go to the river.” She threw the camp one last glance, feeling the hostility buzz.

  • Robinsky arrived at the river first, and began hunting. All of a sudden she smelled an intruder. Where…? She crept silently along the river, seeing Brookripple’s patrol, and…? A FoxClan warrior! Before she could confront the warrior, she scampered off. “Those nasty fox-hearts,” she muttered darkly. FoxClan had never been on good terms with any Clan, as far as she knew, and now they were spying! She dashed back to her patrol as quickly as she could, and mewed quickly, out of breath. “FoxClan was- spying on- us! They could- attack! They might’ve seen- that we-we are weak!”

  • Reedstep –

“Nursery cat? Healer? Yuck!” Reedstep exclaimed, sticking out her tongue for maximum effect. “Er… no offense, Bumblespots.”

    • Bumblespots –

They laughed at Reedstep’s scrunched up face.
“You might find that different when you’re older ! Kits are great fun to look after, but I can see you being built to be a warrior. You’ll have to make sure to come and visit me in nursery often ! I’ll miss you’re comapny”

    • Riverfrost-
Sitting in one of the corners of camp, a sudden idea came to Riverfrost. He stood up and walked towards Bumblespots and Reedstep. “Hello Bumblespots, Reedsteps.” he said dipping his head.

      • Bumblespots –

        “Hello Riverfrost.”
Bumblespots dipped their head back at the other warrior, smiling at him briefly. Riverfrost had always been nice , although a little head strong
“How have you been ? Many successful hunts recently ?”

  • Brookripple started sniffing around. She didn’t smell anything . . . except water. Robinsky was fishing, but it was too far away to be so strong. She saw some droplets on the grass. There was definitely cat. But also blood was visible, and the scent was pretty strong. Something seemed to be chasing the FoxClanner. It could be prey, though.
Brookripple thought over the possibilities. Patrols have reported smelling fox. She shrugged. It’s what FoxClan is usually like. Wouldn’t be a surprise if one of their cats came in the territory. We’d better keep a close guard, though.
