  • Icetulip-
Icetulip pads out of the nursery, her belly swollen with kits. She pads up to the fresh-kill pile, carefully picking up a large fish. She turns around to head back to the nursery. When Lakereed stopped her. “Icetulip, how are our kits?”
“How would I know, they’re still not born,” Icetulip playfully purred. “Did you need something?”
“Yes, Quietbrook said your kits would be born soon.”
“My sister already knows I know that.” With that, she turned and went back into the nursery.

    Lakereed-
He went back into the clearing. He called out, “Are any apprentices in camp?”

    Quietbrook-
“I need a cat to help me gather herbs!” Quietbrook, the medicine cat, mewed out

    • ~willowstar~
Willowstar padded out from under the rocky overhang of her den and over to quietbrook “I’ll collect some herbs. What do you need?” She asked

      ~cinderpaw~
“Me and snowpaw are here!” She mewed from a small spot of reeds.

      ~snowpaw~
“Turtlepaw and willowpaw are out on patrol with ashtail and littlespark. We didn’t want to come, because we had already been on patrol.” The young she-cat explained.

      • Quietbrook-

“Oh, hello Willowstar, I need comfrey, dock, and feverfew. I can see you’re busy with Hawkstorm so you can send Sugarheart or one of the apprentices.

      • There are 9/10 apprentices (cinderpaw, snowpaw, turtlepaw, willowpaw, lionpaw, leopardpaw, tigerpaw, bogpaw, and speckpaw (and maybe fiercepaw))
And only 6 cats that can mentor them (ashtail, littlespark, minttail, mossshadow, willowstar, and lakereed)
Lakereed can mentor 2, just tell me which ones

  • Sugarheart-
Sugarheart was helping Fiercepaw with exercising her paw when she heard a grunt from the entrance of the den. She sighed. “Speckpaw, I know you’re always going to be mad at me, but can you at least not just stare at me like that? Maybe help your sister with her paw?”
    Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw let out a sigh of relief as her mother helped her with her paw. She had injured her limp when she caught the paw in a hole while hunting a large thrush. She had gotten the thrush, but her paw had been killing her. While she knew that her mother wasn’t allowed to have kits, she was still glad that her mother was a medicine cat. She understood how to use herbs, and knew what to do for her paw.
    Speckpaw-
Speckpaw saw her sister with their mother, their medicine cat, as she helped the cinnamon she-cat with her paw. She grunted, annoyed at her sister being so happy with their mother. She had broken the code, and there was no way that she would be happy with having her mother go along with her life like nothing happened. She really wanted to go beg Willowstar to tell the secret to RiverClan.

  • A young Tom stumbled into camp. He carried thunderclan scent, and looked like oakstar, although he wasn’t. Three apprentices, training together in the hollow, stopped, looked up at him and attacked. Shortly after a larger she-cat appeared.
“Tigerpaw! Get her!” Yowled the lightest of the three. The darkest of the three nodded and slashed the She-cats muzzle. Willowstar padded up from the entrance of the medicine cat den. “Tigerpaw! Lionpaw! Leopardpaw!” She yowled. “This is lynxshadow, the thunderclan deputy, and a friend of mine.”
“Sorry, willowstar, but, this is my son, hawkstorm. He wishes to join riverclan.”
    “Why?”
“Well…oakstar, his father, he…well, he killed his sister, lilyfire, for being a medicine cat. I feel he’s not safe in thunderclan. He also killed dappledcloud.” Willowstar gasped in horror. “He taught me herbs when I was just a kit. Before I came to riverclan…” her expression was dark. “Hawkstorm May stay here, and riverclan has your back. May starclan light your path.” She said to lynxshadow. Lynxshadow calmly and quietly padded out of camp.
“You’ll need a bit more training.” Minttail padded up besides Willowstar. “It mustn’t be easy, changing clans once your a warrior already. I guess our kin are known for that?”
“Am I your kin?” Hawkstorm asked kindly.
“Not exactly, but you may as well be. You see, when Willowstar was a kit, she was the foster sister of lynxshadow. Willowstar’s kits, Tigerpaw, lionpaw and leopardpaw are your half siblings.” Mossshadow explained. “I am willowstar’s brother, as well as pineleaf and dustyleaf.”
“I…I never knew pineleaf. Oakstar killed him before I ever knew him. I was old enough to understand his death, but I had never spoken to him. Dustyleaf used to be the deputy, but started a battle with windclan all on her own.”

    • Sugarheart-
Sugarheart looked over at Lynxshadow and nodded to herself. It was clear that if Oakstar would kill his own daughter, he wouldn’t be afraid to kill his other kits. She looked as Lynxshadow left, feeling like a claw was tearing at her heart. She had done something similar, with her own kits.
      Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw hobbled over to the new cat and asked him, “Do you need any help? I can help you out if you’d like.” She felt a nudge and saw that Speckpaw was looking at him, admiration in her gaze.
      Speckpaw-
Speckpaw watched and felt that her and Hawkstorm had things in common, with both of their mothers having left them. Except his mother has a reason! And he’s also so handsome! She saw Fiercepaw talking to him, and nudging her away, she told him, “Hi, I’m Speckpaw. I can help you too. That’s my sister Fiercepaw. I feel like we’re going to get along.” She giggled and purred.

        • Speckpaw-
Speckpaw purred and blinked sweetly. “I’d love that,” she purred. Sorry Fiercepaw, but he’s mine!
          Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw watched her sister flirting with the new Tom and walked away. He would want a strong cat like Speckpaw, not a lame cat like her.

        • Icetulip padded out into the clearing and picked up a fish. She stood there unsure whether to go back to the nursery or not.

  • Icetulip-

Icetulip was asleep in the nursery when she was awoken by a sharp, consistent pain. ” Quietbrook! Sugarheart! Help! I think I’m kitting!

    • Quietbrook-

Quietbrook ran to the nursery with Lakereed at her heels. She quickly turned around to face him. “Stop. it’ll only freak her out more with more cats. She ran into the nursery shouting, “Sugarheart, bring a stick, raspberry leaves and check our borage supply.”

      • Sugarheart-
Sugarheart nodded quickly and ran as fast as she could to grab the raspberry leaves before dropping them off and getting a stick outside. She ran back in and grabbed the little bit of borage that they had. “Here!” She exclaimed through the leaves and the stick.
        Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw woke up with a start. She realized that her face hurt, and saw that Speckpaw had woken up. She put her good paw to her face and hobbled over to where Speckpaw was. She realized that their mother was helping Quietbrook deliver Icetulip’s kits. She slowly moved back, but a devious gleam was in Speckpaw’s eyes.
        Speckpaw-
Speckpaw woke up to hear screams. She kicked her leg back and walked over to the nursery, where the screams were coming from. She saw that Fiercepaw had come and realized that this may be a good time to tell Quietbrook Sugarheart’s secret. “You know, you shouldn’t trust Sugarheart. She had kits, and she’s our mother,” Speckpaw hissed, but most of it was drowned out by Icetulip’s cries of pain.

      • Quietbrook-
Quietbrook nodded and gave Icetulip the raspberry leaves. “Here, eat these.” After Icetulip ate the leaves she held the stick tightly.
A little while later three beautiful kits were born. Then Lakereed came in to see them.

        Icetulip-
“I’ll name this one Snowkit,” pointing to the silver she-kit.
“She looks just like you: Lakereed purred.
“This one is called Creekkit,” she meowed pointing to the silver-blue tom-kit.
“He looks like me and you combined,” Quietbrook said.
‘”And this one I’ll call…..Mistkit,” she meowed pointing to the silver-grey she-kit. Then looking to Lakereed, “She looks like us combined.”
After an hour the kits were all asleep, Icetulip decided to go for a walk. She returned sooner than expected, with a red tom-kit that she found and adopted, but she wouldn’t say where. Its name as Foxkit.

        • Sugarheart-
Sugarheart sighed. “They’re beautiful Icetulip.” She asked Quietbrook, “Do you think she needs anything, or is she good?”
          Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw nearly exclaimed about how cute they were, but stopped. She wasn’t supposed to be there, and so she just watched the kits for a little bit. “So cute,” she whispered to herself. She heard Speckpaw snort.
          Speckpaw-
Speckpaw was glad that there were new kits in the Clan, but she still envied them. They would be growing up with a mother, with a father, without having to keep secrets. They’d have a normal life, while she would live having to keep a secret unless Willowstar decided to tell Sugarheart’s secret.

          • Quietbrook looked at the kits and Icetulip, and then back at Sugarheart. “I think my sister is fine,” she purred. “But can you get some borage leaves?”
Meanwhile, Lakereed and Icetulip were marveling at how pretty their kits were, blood or not.

            • Sugarheart nodded and gave her the borage leaves. “I can collect some more. I think we’re out of borage.”

              • Quietbrook nodded as she grabbed the borage leaves. “We also need dock and comfrey.” She turned back to the nursery. “Eat these Icetulip.”

                • Sugarheart-
Sugarheart nodded and saw her daughters sitting nearby. I suppose three heads are better than one. “Fiercepaw! Speckpaw! Can you two help me to collect herbs?”
                  Fiercepaw-
Fiercepaw nodded but slowed down when she saw Speckpaw glare at her.
                  Speckpaw-
Speckpaw rolled her eyes and nodded, “No,” before turning around and leaving.

                • Sugarheart walked back into camp with dock and borage, with Fiercepaw trailing behind her with comfrey. “I’ll put these away,” Sugarheart quickly called to Quietbrook as she walked to her den with Fiercepaw trailing behind her. She saw Speckpaw glaring at her sister, and reminded herself to tell Speckpaw to not treat her sister like crowfood.

  • Lakereed-
Lakereed finally got away from the nursery and into the clearing. “Lionpaw, Leopardpaw, Tigerpaw, Come hunting with me,” Lakereed asked/ demanded. “The prey pile is running low”

      • “what was that?” Lakereed stopped and looked at the apprentices.
(Do they actually have any special privileges?)

        • (No, but they act like they do. They are kinda like midnight squirrelflight, bratty and whiny, mainly because two leader’s are their parents, although willowstar, mossshadow, shadowheart, riverbrook, thunderstripe and windclaw {who are all the kits of two leaders/ a leader and deputy} act less selfishly and treat themselves as any other warrior would. Not pineleaf and dustyleaf though.)

Leopardpaw and lionpaw flinched, while Tigerpaw stood her ground.
“You heard me!” She hissed. “I don’t even care about riverclan. Rather go to thunder’.”
“Bad choice.” A Voice rang out. Heartbeats later, mossshadow jumped out of a tree. (According to crookedstar’s promise, they do climb trees and occasionally eat birds.) “with oakstars rain of terror, and what he has done to willowstar, hawkstorm and lilyfire, thunderclan is no longer a safe place. You may be his kits, but, judging what he did to lilyfire, he would not be afraid to slaughter you like prey, either.”
Suddenly an eerie wail let out. “That’s from sunning rocks.” Mossshadow turned his head towards lakereed. “Take the apprentices back to riverclan. Tell them to stand guard around camp. Grab any warriors or other apprentices you can find and lead them to sunning rocks!” Mossshadow rushed off

          • Lakereed turned back to the apprentices. “You heard him. Back to camp!” He led the apprentices back to camp before turning and calling Littlespark, Ashtail, Cinderpaw, Snowpaw, and Speckpaw over. “Confrontation at Sunning rocks! Let’s go! Tigerpaw, Lionpaw, Leopardpaw are staying here to guard.” Then to those three apprentices only. “This is very important, you have to guard the nursery and the other cats. You are the strongest apprentices and that is why Mossshadow chose you to guard the camp. Lakereed left the camp at a run with the other cats hopefully following him.

    • Cinderpaw noticed the confused she-cat in camp.
“Somethings happening at sunning rocks. Ashtail just told us to stay silent when we go down their. they have willowstar captive!” Cinderpaw started to walk away. “Lionpaw, leopardpaw and Tigerpaw are here to defend camp, and everyone in camp.”

      • Sugarheart heard that something had happened to Willowstar, and thinking fast, grabbed some horsetail and cobwebs. She quietly went over to Sunningrocks, and waited until the encounter was over.

        • Quietbrook saw Sugarheart leave camp and thought, I should stay here then. She then motioned for Fiercepaw to bring more herbs and go over to Sunningrocks with Sugarheart.

          • Fiercepaw nodded and ran off to the medicine den, quickly grabbing some cobwebs and some horsetail. She followed the fresh scent of her mother and ran to help her.

  • Sugarheart was helping some injured cats to the medicine den and noticed that Fiercepaw was holding all of the herbs, and was running out of room. She took a few leaves and continued helping the injured cats.
Fiercepaw was worried about all of the cats. She didn’t know who was injured the worst, and just knew that Speckpaw had barely been injured. She was worried that her sister may be getting too proud for her own good.
Speckpaw lifted her head up high, feeling extremely prideful of her fighting skills. I’ll bet I’ll be made a warrior soon!
(But actually, can Speckpaw become a warrior soon? Unless she’s too young)

    • (Yeh sure.)
Willowstar went over to help sugarheart.
Once every cat was helped, Willowstar called them together for a meeting.
“It is time for speckpaw to become a warrior.” Willowstar’s voiced seemed to shake slightly. “Speckpaw. You have trained well, and it is time for you to be equal to those who oppose you. Your name will now be [suggestion: speckflame, due to her fierce attitude]” Willowstar flicked her tail for a silence after a while.
“You must sit a silent vigil.” Willowstar said, then disappeared into her den, legs shaking with effort. Once she got to her nest, her legs gave way, and she collapsed, leaning against the stoney wall behind her.
Littlespark wandered in, along with willowpaw.
“Willowstar?” Willowpaw called out to her mentor.
“I-I’m he-here.” Willowstar could barely speak. “Littlespark, I wi-wish to spe-“
Littlespark used her tail to tell willowpaw to leave. “What is it?” She asked respectfully.
“Littlespark, I’m growing weaker. Minttail and you need to lead the clan together, as leader and deputy, just u-until i’m back on my paws.” She huffed.
“Yes Willowstar, i’ll tell minttail. Want me to get any…herbs?” Littlespark Asked.
      “No, just a m-moss ball of w-wat-water.”

  • Sugarheart watched her daughter with pride. “Congrats Speckflame,” she whispered. She felt a head on her side and saw that Fiercepaw was leaning against her.
Fiercepaw was happy for her sister and just felt like leaning against her mother. She felt Sugarheart’s tongue over her head and purred. “It’ll be your turn soon Fiercepaw.”
Speckflame padded out of camp, ready for her silent vigil. She settled into position, thinking about how this would be a good time to think of how to expose her mother.

  • Icetulip sat in the nursery. Her three little kits, who weren’t so little anymore, were playing and pushing besides her. She was talking to Minttail when she heard commotion outside.
(IDK why but I just realized these kits are Minttail’s neices and nephews.)

  • Lakereed noticed Minttail leave the nursery in a rush and followed her. “Sis, are you alright? What’s wrong?”

Quietbrook sat in the entrance of the den, eyes narrowed at Willowstar’s den. She had a stack of herbs next to her, and it was all she could do to not rush to see what’s wrong with Willowstar.

    (Minttail is a girl, right?)

    • Sugarheart padded over to her former mentor(?) and asked, “Is there anything I can do for Willowstar? Me and Fiercepaw can take those herbs to her.”
Fiercepaw nodded as her mother mentioned taking the herbs to Willowstar. Quietly she wondered though, Is it too late to save Willowstar, or does she have multiple lives left?

      • (Yeah former mentor.)
“Yes take these.” Quietbrook handed a pile of herbs to Sugarheart, picking up a pile herself.

        • Sugarheart nodded. She looked back to Fiercepaw and told her, “You stay here, I don’t want you to get sick.” Her daughter nodded. Sugarheart ran to the leader’s den, wondering what it was. She was shocked by how sick Willowstar looked, but laid the herbs by her. She looked and saw(I’m going to guess here) some borage, tansy, juniper, and wood sorrel. She whispered to Willowstar, “You rest Willowstar. We’ll try to help you.”

  • *time skip cuz why not?*
“LAKEREED!” Tigerpaw called, rushing into camp. “Lakereed! It’s minttail! She-she’s hurt!” Behind her, lionpaw and leopardpaw appeared, pulling minttail behind them.
Littlespark saw and came rushing up to help, as well as ashtail. “Lakereed, look after the clan. Lead them while both minttail and Willowstar are sick.”
“Willowstar appeared from behind the meeting rock, shaking slightly as she walked around it. “I-I think I-i’m Ok now, l-littlespa-spark.” Willowstar went into a coughing fit.

    • Sugarheart ran over to Willowstar. “No!” She yelled. “You aren’t ok! I need to take care of you, so let me! Fiecepaw and me or Quietbrook can look after Minttail, and whoever doesn’t look after her can help you! This isn’t ok!”

        • Fiercepaw tried to see Willowstar, but her mother kept pushing her back. She nodded and went to help Quietbrook.
Sugarheart went to treating Willowstar. “All the same symptoms?” She asked. “Still coughing and twitching and eating oddly?”

          • Willow nodded. “I’m getting better at eating. And, I didn’t want to tell the clan but…I lost a life. In on six.” She coughed. “Starclan *cough* said to me” she paused, thinking. “I mean, I won’t *cough* loose all my- *cough cough* lives. Starclan told me how i’d Lose my last.” She sighed. “They’ve told me, I would die from exhaustion, after working sunrise to moondown to help my clan with whitecough and greencough”

            • Sugarheart nodded. I’ll remember that the next time we have greencough and whitecough. “Well I’ll get you some herbs.” She ran down to the medicine den and got some thyme. Sugarheart has been suspecting that thyme may help her a bit. “Eat this.”

                • Sugarheart asked, “Why do you always check the herbs? We know what we’re doing, and Quietbrook was an excellent mentor.”

                • “I don’t know. Maybe it’s a trust issue, maybe I’m just curious. If I didn’t check my herbs I wouldn’t be able to point out that you accedently put some mint leaves in this.” She pushed a single leaf towards sugarheart. “I assume it must have fallen off the rock shelf when you where preparing, or there’d be more.” Willowstar commented to show she wasn’t trying to judge sugarheart.

                • Willowstar obeyed. “You remind me of my mentor.” She told her as she swallowed. “Always making sure your patients actually ate the herbs they were given. ‘Shame that oakstar tried to race the medicine den when he was a young warrior.” She casually commented, remembering her mentors untimely death.

                • Sugarheart nodded. “Well it’s important that they do. I hope that Fiercepaw does that too.”

        • Lakereed nodded. “Of course Littlespark.” He glances over at his injured sister as Quietbrook pushed cats away. “Quietbrook started applying a herb paste to the wounds and Put cobwebs on it. “Fiercepaw, fetch me some more herbs, you should know which ones.” Quietbrook started shooing cats away.

          • Fiercepaw nodded and limped over to the medicine den. She got a bundle of cobwebs and some marigold. She ran back over to Quietbrook and placed the herbs by her paws.

            • Quietbrook applied the herbs and cobwebs to Minttail and slowly moved her into the medicine den. She then rushed outside to find Tigerpaw. “Do you know how it happened?”

              • Tigerpaw hesitated for a second. “I-I was panicking too much to notice anything. I smelt fox and badger, I think, but I don’t think either attacked her.”
