So what do you want to write about, a fanfic or an article? Do you have any ideas?

        • I already submitted a Onestar article recently, so I’m fine with doing a Ivypool/Dovewing comparison article <3

          How will it be formatted?

That’s completely fine! I’ve been a bit busy too this week <3

Shrubpaw: I agree! She was definitely a better sister than Dovewing (But Dovewing isn't so bad, as I'll talk about later) and is actually my favorite character in the series, due to her relationship with the Dark Forest, her role in OotS, and how she developed as a character from a selfish, jerk-like apprentice to a selfless, devoted warrior.

      • Sorry again for the wait!

        Alright here’s a question!
Question: Who was a better warrior? Ivypool or Dovewing?

        Silverpaw:
Personally, I think Ivypool was better. She didn’t have to use special powers to locate one little mouse. She didn’t have to use special powers to fight in battle. She didn’t have powers but Dovewing did, and Dovewing was treated like she had no powers to catch prey or fight. After Dovewing loses her powers, she mopes around saying she’s deaf and blind. She acts like she actually is deaf and blind, not being the best warrior she could be. So that’s why I think Ivypool is better! Wbu Shrubpaw?

Shrubpaw: I agree with some of your points, but not all of them. Yes, Dovewing seemed way too reliant on her powers, but she wasn’t cheating by taking advantage of them. Additionally, Ivypool may have not been in the right mind as an apprentice in Fading Echoes, but she did lie to Firestar and multiple senior warriors, leading to a battle killing Russetfur and one of her leader’s lifes. She did redeem herself later on, but I would have much preferred Russetstar over the current Tigerstar. Honestly, I think the choices are closer than you perceive, but I will still be choosing Ivypool due to her relevance in the more recent arcs, with Dovewing having little to no relevance with the possible exception of Ivypool’s Heart.

    • That’s fine! I always give a late response anyways so dw about it! <3

Question: Who would be a better fit for the prophecy? Dovewing or Ivypool?

Fawnpaw: Probably Dovewing. Maybe Ivypool would have been more accepting of the powers and losing them, but she might have overused them and be even more reliant on them than Dovewing did. That being said Dovewing is reliant on her powers as shown after she loses them, her hunting skills significantly decreased. Though Dovewing isn't one to show off her powers and keep it a secret, Ivypool might have blurted something of the sort out of excitement and would have told her sister as well. Ivypool would have been even better with powers but then she wouldn't have the great character development that came from her jealousy towards her sister. So Dovewing would be better fit for two reasons, Dovewing might have used the powers better and Ivypool wouldn't be the amazing girlboss she is now if she had the powers.

      • Shrubpaw: I’m going to disagree with you on this one and say Ivypool. We already know what happened to Dovewing since she was part of the Three; she is found out nearly immediately after she is apprenticed, grows used to her powers, and then has a brief arc where she learns to accept the loss of her powers after the Great Battle. If Ivypool was granted powers instead of Dovewing, assuming they’re the same abilities of extreme hearing and seeing, she will probably be more secretive and hide her powers for longer, which is already a plus. While her mentor isn’t Lionblaze from the Three, if she lent her secret to the unknowing Cinderheart she could help her mentor discover that she is indeed Cinderpelt, and dodge the late-stage drama near the end of the arc with Cinderheart and Lionblaze. And if Ivypool somehow made it into the Dark Forest (Dovewing wouldn’t even if she didn’t have powers, since she isn’t the vengeful type) the former she-cat will have the bonus of tracking the conversation of every Dark Forest cat and learn their secrets, which Dovewing was unable to do until the end of the arc. True, Ivypool having powers will promote damage on her arc, but it will also allow spotlight on Dovewing, who in the fandom is quite controversial in comparison to her sourer sister. Therefore, in a theoretical standpoint, Ivypool would have been a better fit in the prophecy.

  • Sorry for the late reply, I completely forgot about this sob

Shrubpaw: I would say Ivypool. Like Jayfeather to an extent, she is assertive on the outside but genuinely compassionate and kind on the inside. Her consistent personality allowed her to stay prominent in the series, with a mate and kits (one becoming a protagonist) and even becoming deputy and having her own SE. Dovewing? Not so much. While she was a good character with the circumstances of a prophecy and supernatural powers being forced on her, after her novella and Tigerheart’s Shadow, she quickly became a background character that added to ShadowClan’s cast of characters. I may be biased when I say this, but Dovewing did not play a large role in TBC, or in the aftermath surrounding it. Hear me out. While Dovewing did show up more within the series involving Shadowsight, she was quick to move on and even had a second litter of kits. Ivypool, however, grasped deeply on her grief of her daughter’s death and it became the major plot point of her Super Edition. Even beforehand, Dovewing was great when she had her powers, but when her powers disappeared any major character moment that might have redeemed her washed away. Ivypool didn’t need powers to be a great sister, friend, future mate, or future deputy of ThunderClan. And that immediately makes her the dominant figure of this question.

(Sorry if this seems all over the place, I wrote this in one sitting and I was a bit confused about the prompt! Hopefully this works.)
