Frost jumped lightly from rock to rock, hoping that she wouldn’t slip and fall. She couldn’t slip and fall. Frost now wished that she had taken the time to make allies, but they would make her weak. Her father was right: she could only rely on herself. She trusted her brother, and he betrayed her.
Right?
That single moment of doubt made Frost slip, just a bit. She held on firmly to the rocks, attempting to get stable, but she needed help.
Parrot yowled as the bridge fell. I can’t die. Not now. She hurried and leapt off just as it hit the water. Phew, that was close.
Mangrove –
As he was much slower, and heavier then all the other cats, the tom sprinted to the other side of the bridge, collapsing onto the ground, out of breath. At least he had helped save some other cats, his large size was probably the reason for the bridges collapse
Bo / Tammy –
Bo tumbled off the rock, but flung out a paw, just about catching hold of a sharp point of the rock. Blood welled on her paw, and she cried out in pain, but slowly, she hauled herself, up, regaining her footing on the rock. Tammy began to cross the rocks more carefully, testing each for stable footing before she moved
Torrent splashed back into the stream, headed to Bo to make sure she was ok.
Sleet(2/2)-
Sleet slid out her claws, putting them firmly in the rocks, trying to find balance. Her legs and tail were soaked, but she didn’t care. She leaped on the other side, trying to get in some sort of shade. She was not used to this heat, especially the glaring sun of the Southern Kingdom.
Sunset(2/2)-
Sunset leaped off the bridge, which was cracking and falling at a rapid rate. He’d made it! He’d really did it. He took a deep breath, analyzing his surroundings. The canyons really were as beautiful as the stories said. Even though it was in his kingdom, his family could never afford the trip, which was a three-day walk from Scorpius.
(Ok, I was gone for a while. What’s happening?)
(The first challenge began. You have to cross a river to get to it, by either crossing a bunch of slippery rocks or a slightly unstable bridge. You have to make two roleplay posts to cross successfully.)
Post two for both!
Dusk glanced over as the bridge collapsed, quickly making his way over the rock. It’s not like he could help, he’d would just end up getting killed.
——
Nectarine shrieked as the bridge broke, launching herself over, slamming into the shore. She yowled in fear as she started slipping into the water, wildly trying to claw her way up.
(Could someone grab her?)
Robin quickly leaped across the rocks, pushing all doubts out of her minds. Her paws found the other side, finally, and she almost collapsed in relief.
Whoops! I meant to put Frost, not Robin. Oh well.
Frost regained her footing and looked back. She saw that the bridge had collapsed, and cats were scrambling to the shore. There was one cat that she noticed, a cat who was slipping faster than the others. Normally she wouldn’t help anyone, she was good on her own, but.. she could always use an all…
Before she could overthink her decision, she dashed to the shore, grabbed the she-cat by the scruff, and lifted her on the shore. “You alright?” asked Frost gruffly.
Tangerine was shaking in shock.
“T-thank you! Y-you saved my life!” She smiled weakly, shaking off her soaked paws.
Frost managed a small smile back. “Your welcome,” she mewed. Her mind flitted through options quickly. Should she leave this cat, or perhaps do the impossible…?
“Er…” Frost muttered. “Do you want to be allies?”
ALLY NOT ALL
ugh, I can’t spell, sorry guys.
The bridge collapses behind you just as the last cat crosses it. It lands in the water with a loud crash, sending water everywhere, and it is swept by the strong river current and disappears. You feel uneasy. A cat could’ve died by that.
But you need to focus in your task. Three caverns sit, all identical to each other and covered in a thick veil of moss, which is strange, since moss doesn’t grow in the desert. Carefully, you peer in one of the caverns. It’s dimly lit, which is also strange, and a small pool of water to drink. In the middle of the cavern is a large egg that’s bigger than you. It’s pale brown with darker flecks, and you wonder what to do with it.
You take a step back, staring at all three caverns. They all look the same. The egg and the moss and the pool of water looks the same. Even the placement of the dim light is the same.
Which cavern do you choose?
(Just for simplification: the cavern on the left is Cavern A, the cavern in the middle is Cavern B, and the cavern on the right is Cavern C. Please specify which cavern your character chooses.)
Torrent decides to go with the cavern closest to her. “Come on, Bo!” She says, entering Cavern C.
Dusk narrowed his eyes.
What? Moss? In the desert?
Dusk noticed two she-cats heading to cavern C. They both had pretty flowers, and it’s slightly better in groups. So he padded into the cavern. Sighing obnoxiously, he called out loudly, his sunset eyes darkening in fake sadness.
“I, oh so, desperately need allies!”
(My boy is such a good actor 😛)
Tamarin / Bromeliad –
Bo glanced behind her, narrowing her eyes at the tom padding towards her.
“Umm. Ok ? You realise you could just ask instead of moaning….”
She continued to pad towards the cave
(Replying to Frost) (also why did I call her tangerine?? Orange fruits??😛)
“Oh! Um, sure! Yeah, let’s be allies!” Nectarine flushed slightly, “Oh, my name is Nectarine, sorry for not introducing my self.” She giggled, embarrassed, “Which one do you think we should go through?”
(Disregard my Cavern B post)
“You’re fine,” mewed Frost. “Cavern A, maybe? There’s already some cats heading in there, not as much as Cavern C. I work better in small groups.” She didn’t tell Nectarine that she actually worked better alone, or, at least, she used to.
Frost looked back and forth. Which cavern should she pick? It wouldn’t really matter, right? She glanced back at the she-cat she had saved, who hadn’t answered her question of becoming allies. “Uh… I’m gonna go into Cavern B,” she mewed quietly and began to pad into the cave.
Sleet-
Seeing the three cats into Cavern C, Sleet began to pad towards them. These cats needed a leader, a cat who could take charge, no matter which kingdom they were from. She could be that leader.
Sunset-
Sunset went towards the cavern where no one went, Cavern A. He’d do this on his own. He’s always done things on his own, and how was this any different?
Mangrove –
Clambering up into Cavern A after another tom, he only just managed to pull himself into it, with three legs.
“Hey there’s, you look like you need a hand !”
Sunset-
“Excise me,” Sunset growled. “I wanted to be alone.” He eyed the large tom, who had long legs and webbed paws, a Western Kingdom cat, most likely. He had three legs, which was strange. “But I’ll let you stay. That is, if you serve any useful purpose.”
Torrent attempted to claw her way into the cave, her short legs disabling her from doing so. She slid back uncomfortably, her outstretched front legs trembling with effort. She looked back with a humiliated expression. “Guys, I need some help.” she mumbled in a barely audible tone.
Tammy / Bo –
Bo saw Torrent struggling, and went up to her, nosing her up into the cave gently.
“Are you ok there ?”
Bo leapt up into the cave easily, she had strong and long legs from being in the rainforest. To help Torrent up the last bit, she grabbed her scruff, and pulled her up
Parrot noticed a cat was struggling. She trotted over and jumped up. Parrot hauled the cat up. “I’m Parrot. You?” She decided to go with this cat into cavern C. She needed company to be able to do things.
“Thanks, you two.” Torrent cast grateful glances at Bo and Parrot. Speaking to Parrot now, she said, “I’m Torrent. Ironic, right? Considering I’m weaker than a blue flag iris in leaf-bare out of the water.”
