Flurrypaw sat quietly in the back of the clearing. I wonder if Lilypaw would like to be my friend, she thought.
Lilypaw noticed the she-cat staring and decided to do something about it. “Hi”, she said, padding over. “You’re…Flurrypaw, right?”
Flakestar dipped his head to Ivyfeather as greif clouded his eyes.
“All who wish to join us may.” He said and led the cats to start Mudstars burial. He touched noses with his mate.
“Mudstar was not only a great leader, but a great mate and a great mother.” He dipped his head to Silverpaw and Ivyfeather(im pretty sure you were also mudstar and flakestars kit?)
“She will always have plenty in starclan, we’ll miss her. But she’ll always be here to guide us along in times of need.” He stepped back so others may pay respects to her.
Ivyfeather walked up to Mudstar’s body, grief filling her. “You have always been a great leader, and mother to me” she murmured, “Travel safely to starclan, I will grief and remember you for the rest of my time.” She was full of grief as she licked Mudstar’s shoulder and walked back to take a seat.
Flakestar watched as his daughter said her goodbye to mudstar and realized Crustkit would want to say her goodbye to her mother. He ran back to camp quickly and grabbed Crustkit from the med den and returned.
“Dad, moms dead, isn’t she?” Crustkit asked as she limped next to him.
“Y-yeah, she is.” He said to his now 6 moon old daughter, “I hoped she would be there for your apprentice ceremony, I guess not.” Crustkit then limped over to her mother and rested her head on her mothers shoulder.
“I’ll miss you mother, You may be there even while dead but I’ll still miss the comfort you give me. Goodbye.” She let a teardrop fall on her mothers fur before backing up. A few said their goodbyes and Mudstar was buryed. They returned to camp and Flakestar leaped up onto the Fallen Timber.
“We gather here today to say goodbye to Mudstar. But we will also be making our daughter Crustkit an apprentice.” Crustkit limped up, “Crustkit, you are now 6 moons and ready to become an apprentice. From now until made warrior you shall be Crustpaw. I will mentor you and train you to be the best you can be. I know someday you will make me proud Crustkit, just as your siblings have made me proud.” Flakestar touched noses with his kit and could feel a presence beside him, “I’m glad you came to see Crustpaws apprentice ceremony, Mudstar.” He muttered.
“Crustpaw! Crustpaw!” He started the chanting.
“Crustpaw!” Chanted Fallowpounce. She was genuinely happy for her clanmate. Longing gnawed at her as the camp broke up into groups. I wish I could have a friend. She thought to herself sadly, tail drooping.
Now that Mudstar is dead, I hope Flakestar will be just as good
“Crustpaw! Crustpaw!” Ivyfeather chanted, as she noticed the clan broke into groups. She also noticed her fellow warrior, Fallowpounce looking uncertain about where to go. Ivyfeather trotted over to her, “Fallowpounce! Let’s sit together over there,” She nodded to a patch of shade in the far area of the camp.
