Here I give you daily dog facts because that’s what comes out of this page 😀 If you have any dog facts, please share them! 😀
FACT 1
Great Pyrenees can have up to 6 toes on their hind foot. Other polydactyl breeds include the Norwegian Lundehund, which holds the record for the dog breeds with the most toes, also with 6 toes on their feet, but instead of these extra toes presenting themselves has dewclaws, they are on the main foot. These dogs can also have 8 pads on any one foot. Both dogs are bred to work in mountainous areas, and these extra toes provide extra grip!
Ooh, Fact:
The Iditarod is a sled race that takes place every year from Anchorage to Nome, honouring the dogs who brought a life-saving serum to Nome to combat a deadly diphtheria outbreak.
The two most famous dogs of the Serum Run were Balto and Togo.
Balto was one of the lead dogs who brought the serum into Nome for the last length.
Togo ran the hardest and longest lap of the race. Everyone but his team ran 55 miles.
He ran 261 miles.
Oooh that’s so cool!
😀
Oof I forgot about this haha

Irish Wolfhounds are, on average, the tallest breed of dog, but most commonly, a Great Dane holds the record for being the tallest dog living/ever.

A couple of dog jobs!
1 – Dogs are excellent members of anti-poaching units, and due to their heightened sense of smell, they can track down poachers, helping us save endangered species of animals
2 – Pigs used to be the ones to smell truffles, but they would always eat them, so many places have specially trained dogs to help
3 – SAR dogs (Search and Rescue Dogs) are trained to pick up absolutely any human scent, from a whiff of a human’s breath or the scent of skin cells. SAR dog. Different SAR dogs specialise in different fields, and they include air-scent dogs, water-search dogs, avalanche dogs, disaster dogs and more
