    Some quick notes on appearance:
    Humans look like humans.
    Elves look like humans, but with pointy ears and pretty colors. They can come in any shade of any color! So make em pretty! They also tend to be taller. (Elves also age the same as humans)
    Hybrids: They are somewhere in the middle. So, they might have normal human colored skin, but neon pink eyes.

      Backstory: After Ferrum took control of Fabula, he moved to Verum and became a profitable merchant. He was happy for a while, until a human snuck into Verum. He was going to turn her in, but they started talking and ended up falling in love. He hid her in his house, and for a while they were happy. They had there own wedding, and shortly after their daughter was born. But, when their daughter was five, disaster struck. A visiting cousin found out about the human, and told the king. The wife was killed, the daughter was imprisoned, and Jax fled to Cael to hide. He hopes to get his daughter back if he helps Lumen.

      Backstory: Bellatrix was trained to be an assassin ever since they were a child, and they were looked up to because their father was one of the most dangerous assassins in Cael. Although Bellatrix refused to be one at first, they soon realized that being an assassin was the only way they would survive. Once their father passed away, Bellatrix made their mark as one of the deadliest assassins in the whole state.

      Backstory: She an her brother, Kai, were born with they’re sister, Jewel. Their parents abandoned them and they were forced to live on their own. The other elves figured out that they were hybrids and killed Jewel. Spring and Kia escaped the police and stayed in Cael. But, an elf told the police where they were and they captured Kia. Spring hopes that when they defeat the king, she can be reunited with her brother.

      Personality: fierce and loyal but finds it hard to trust others. He has no sense of humour and tends to snap and shout. He is rather reserved and very alert to danger.
      State of origin: Pontus
      Appearance: a thin, sickly looking hybrid with a sunny yellow tinge to his skin and the tips of his ears ever so slightly more pointed than an average human’s.
      Backstory: Merlin never knew either of his parents and was abandoned when he was about 1. A kind elderly elf fisherman called Sparrow took him in and cared for him as a child. Unfortunately, when he was 8, a dragon crept through the magic and burned down Sparrow and Merlin’s shack. Sparrow sacrificed themselves to hold off the dragon, and shoved a terrified Merlin out of the danger. The other fishermen pitied Merlin and gave him some supplies to live off. Merlin accepted their supplies but never grew attached as he didn’t want to loose them like Sparrow. Merlin heard about what Ferrum did to Lumen and because it reminded him of Sparrow and the dragon, he decided to help.

      • Oof flip let me add more to the appearance 😛: he has white hair that is silver streaked and black hard eyes, he is also slightly taller than average in human height charts so about 180 cm tall, he has plain dull coloured clothes, usually in shades of brown and black ankle boots with a silver stripe at the top, he is about UK foot size 9 (I have no idea if the foot sizes are different in the US 😛)

      Backstory: Aria’s father was a well-known and rich politician in Verum before she was born. One day, he came across a human woman, traveling through Verum. Her father immediately fell in love, and soon learned that the woman was running away from her home in Pontus, where her family wanted to ship her off to Caligo to be a slave. He took her in and hid her away at home. Soon after, they had a small wedding that consisted of her mother’s cousin and her father’s sister. A few years later, Aria was born. As she grew up, her parents encouraged her to wear fake elf ears, as the people in Verum hated humans and hybrids. Her parents wanted her to have a good education, so they lied for fifteen years. However, one day, Aria got into a fight with one of the girls in her class, where her ears fell off. The girl immediately reported her to the king, who murdered her mother and father. Aria managed to escape custody by running away to Cael. There, she trained to hate everyone and to avenge her parents. She soon became one of the most dangerous thieves and assassins in Cael, and she decided to help Lumen to get vengeance on the king.

      Personality: Self reliant, witty, arrogant and cunning. Ronin is a natural thief and behaves as such, acting as if he has the upper hand even when he clearly does not, and keeping his head cool no matter the circumstances.
      State of origin: Cael
      Appearance: He has longish brown hair and brown eyes. He wears an odd combination of sand green, orange and crimson clothing, and he sometimes wears a red cloth over his face to hide his identity.
      Backstory: (Why are these always so hard…) Though he lived an honest life up to Lumen’s exile, Ronin was always a thief at heart. He had a knack for taking things when you weren’t looking, and when Cael turned into a thieves den overnight, he changed with it. He made a living stealing everything he needed from others, and as a result, he became a capable fighter. What had been a hidden talent before was now his lifeline, the only thing keeping him afloat in chaos’s reign. Unfortunately, his abilities also got him mixed up with Soul Archer, a notorious mercinary capable of shooting a fly out of the air with her bow.
      And in this case, Ronin was the fly.
      And so it was only natural that he chose to join Lumin, lest he find one of Soul Archer’s silver-tipped arrows in between his eyes. Plus, the notion of power was an appealing one, and Ronin liked the thought of Lumin returning. Maybe things would be less frantic under his reign. Maybe elves and humans could finally treat each other as equals. Maybe, just maybe, things would get better.
      Weapon (you may have one, nothing too modern, no guns.): Two short katana worn in an X on his back. He uses a butterfly knife (balisong) instead of a dagger.
      Accessories: A butterfly knife used for utility and a red cloth used as a mask.

      Backstory: Will was born to a family of fishermen. Growing up, he was a weak child, and couldn’t defend himself against the harsh world he lived in. Despite this, his parents made sure he had the best childhood he could. When he was sixteen, Will was beaten up in an alleyway. Unable to defend himself, Will would’ve died had it not been for a hybrid girl named Elyanna saving him and nursing him back to health. However, she left as soon as he was healthy again, and he never saw her ever again. He joined the war to help people and to maybe find Elyanna again.

      Distrusting, and doesn’t like to get to know people. Once they do get to know people, however, they are extremely loyal. They often come off as gruff and unfriendly, and they are strategic but in action tend to make reckless discussions. They do not forgive easily, and are blunt at times.
      State of origin: Caligo
      Appearance: Average height, broad shoulders, skin is on the paler side, their hair is a very dark brown worn in a short ponytail, their eyes are dark brown. They have a several scars running along their arms, and more on their back.
      Backstory: Agave was born in Caligo, to a human family. Originally, they were free, but when they were a teen a mining company ‘hired’ their family to work for them permanently. The conditions were tough, and Agave lost their younger sister in the mines. Their parents were submissive to the slavers, because they thought they couldn’t do anything. However, Agave’s two older sibsters wanted to do something. They joined the group that had been attacking elves, which some called freedom fighters, some called rebels, and all the elves called terrorists. Agave was hesitant, because although they hated the elves, it still didn’t feel right to join a group that killed children and murdered families. However, when their masters found out about their sibsters actions and killed them, they decided to get involved. At first, they did only small jobs, but after their mother passed away from a mine collapsing, they had had it. They became far more involved, and stopped caring what the group did to survive. Their father joined as well, and together they tried to bring change. When Lumen reached out, Agave decided to take the chance. They don’t trust elves, but they think that Lumen can hardly be a worse leader, and besides, if they have power then they can take things into their own hands. Their father was too nervous to come.

But then one day, she saw a human girl sneaking into the state. The girl was starving and ragged. It was then she realized the cruelty towards humans. Somehow it changed her, and she changed her mind on her thoughts. She hopes Lumen will be a better ruler, and perhaps, she might get something out of it too.

When Lumen released his notes from the sky, her brother was about to cut himself to join when she interfered, and was accidentally cut instead.

      Backstory: Kash had the same upbringing as his sister, Mar, except for the fact that he hated his life. Unlike Mar, he understood the poor conditions many humans and elves were subjected to, and despised the fact that he was pampered and spoiled so despite the suffering of others. He refused to wear anything expensive, and wore his simple gray outfit all the time. When he got Lumin’s notes, he was eager to join, but Mar pushed the sword out of his hand and cut herself. After she’d done this, he still proceeded to cut himself.

    • I know I basically gave up on Maple’s The Tests (at the moment… I kind of miss those characters I began using) – and sorry for comparing them, although I know you did – but I’mma try how I feel about this one, cuz it seems simpler, and… OVERTHROWING A KING SOUNDS GREAT XD

      Personality: charismatic, doesn’t easily let go of grudges, a little cold to acquaintances, fiercely loyal

      Appearance: tall for a human, and pale-skinned, with black hair and pale blue eyes

      Backstory: Francis and his family once lived in Cael until Lumen’s exile, and, when it started to fall to ruin and chaos, Francis began to learn how to be a thief, for the sake of having enough money to hold the family’s situation together by a loose thread. However, Francis never liked being a thief, and his family finally moved to Caligo (they unfortunately weren’t in a stable enough financial situation to go somewhere less dangerous), but they quickly lost most of their remaining money when a dragon attacked, and thus, were sold into slavery; Francis hated being a slave and having to answer to those nasty elves (not saying that he hates all elves, but definitely those ones), so he is joining this to hopefully overthrow the King, because he hates that the King allowed Nox to allow slavery and also couldn’t do more to stop the terrorism, and he certainly hates that the King exiled Lumen which caused his life to be “ruined”!

      Backstory: Elyanna was born in Caligo. Growing up in poverty was never easy, but she was surrounded by nice people and a loving family, and had a happy childhood. When she turned eleven, Elyanna began to steal food and other necessities from the marketplace for her family and neighbors. This only escalated from there, and as Elyanna grew into her teens she began to go to the other kingdoms and sending back money and food for her family. When she was nineteen, she saved Will from dying and began to fall in love with him, though she had a duty to do and people to provide for, so she left as soon as Will was significantly healed. For the next ten years, she continued to steal for her family and friends. She joined Lumen in order to have a better world where her loved ones didn’t have to suffer.

      Appearance: On the taller side, with wrinkled pinkish white skin, hair is white due to old age but originally pink. Her eyes are a vibrant dark green, and she looks like an elf but her ears are not very pointy.
      Backstory: She was born long before the current rule, in a time where humans were in charge and elves were the slaves. She helped defeat the humans, and after elves rose to power her mother pretended that she was a full-blooded elf. The other elves pretended not to notice her ears, but they still treated her like an outsider, so she went to live in Pontus, where she enjoyed a fairly peaceful life. She saw many governments rise and fall, and is tired of all the fighting. She thinks Lumen might be the answer to Fabula’s problems.

    Personality: Quick (as in speed), serious, and easily offended
    Species: human (although Klio hates humans as you will see in his backstory)
    State of origin: Cael
    Appearance: a very short and scraggly teen. On his face, he has a mask that he never has been seen without. He wears it because he was scarred there by gangsters and doesn’t want to show it because he thinks it is a sign of weakness.
    Backstory: Born in Cael, Klio was abandoned by his parents and was found by a gang of humans. Klio was treated well by the gang, but the leader of the gang, hated Klio and eventually tried to kill him. Klio managed to escape, though not before receiving the scar on his face. After Klio escaped, the gang leader went mad, and decided to spend all his time tracking Klio. Ever since, Klio has hated humans and is now constantly on the run from the gang.
    Finally, Klio heard about Lumen from an old man, so Klio decided to seek Lumen’s help.

          • Ooh, that sounds fun! What did you do for greek day? I’ve only played D&D a few times but it’s always been a blast.
            I liked ALITM! I really enjoyed seeing some characters from different arcs interact, and I felt like it was a strong conclusion to the arc. I just read River yesterday and didn’t like it as much though 😛

            • We basically split up into greek city-states based on our advisement classes, and I was the Elis city-state. We had also been making a flag and chariot over the past few weeks, and we did a chariot race at the end of the day and it was pretty fun! Other than that we just did arts and crafts, mythology lessons, and “Greek Olympics” which is a sad version of P.E. 😛 They have a special event for every grade in my middle school, greek day for 6th, Revolution day for 7th (I think thats what it’s called.) and Civil war day for 8th. 😀

    • I have not forgotten! I’ve just been enjoying some covid and cramming for ap tests 😛 today was interesting, as the school had a pep rally for prom and that was very chaotic.

        • We’ve been doing a lot of in class reveiw thankfully, so I mostly just haveto memorize a bunch of equations 😛

          Yeah, I’m not entirely sure where I caught it from, but so many kids are out sick from my school right now that I pretty much could have gotten it from anyone.

          The pep rally was good! A little loud, but okay. There was a lot of competitions, like a hungry hippo game with people (there were balls and scooters…I’m not entirely sure how to describe it but it was chaotic), and then the mini dodge ball tournament, which the upperclassmen won.

            The rallies that my school has aren’t that fun or chaotic. We actually had one today, and it was pretty low-key, though my friend in ASB, (Associated Student Body) got to talk, so that was cool! 🙂

      I am indeed out of school! So far my summer’s been pretty layed back, I’m working as a counselor in training for a summer school and volunteering at my local library! I’m also going to be on vacation in a few weeks, which I’m excited for.
      What did you do in Florida? Have you been up to anything new since then?
