Sliverthorn argues why Ashfur would’ve been better for Squirrelflight than Brambleclaw.
~Featherfall~
“Hm, I believe so! Now, how about you and I play a little game”
He was going to introduce Hazelkit to a game he use to play.
Hazelkit nodded excitedly and waited, tail twitching happily.
~Featherfall~
He leaned down and grabbed a flower, setting it in front of Hazelkit.
“You see this flower? This flower is a gemstone.. You need to keep me from getting it any way you can, alright?”
He knew that this could help train Hazelkit.
Hazelkit nodded determinedly, eyes already set on the flower. “Any way possible?” He confirmed, not looking up from the flower.
~Featherfall~
“Any way possible.. The game will start in..
3..
2..
1!”
He started to slowly move around Hazelkit and the flower.
Hazelkit carefully pawed the flower behind himself, keeping one eye on Featherfall. Without thinking, he squirmed under part of the den wall, carefully taking the flower with him.
~Featherfall~
Interesting!
“I’m going to get your gem!”
He crouched down, looking at den wall and swiping his paw under it,, trying to feel the flower
Hazelkit squeezed deeper under, being extremely careful not to crumple to flower. “You can’t get me!” He taunted
~Featherfall~
“Hmm.. Thats what you think!”
He manage to catch something.. He didn’t know what.
Hazelkit squeaked indignantly, “That’s my tail!” He jerked it back and grabbed the flower in his jaws. He darted out from under the wall and ran over to the herb shelter.
~FeatherfalL~
“I apologize!”
He didn’t mean to get the kit’s tail
He started to follow the kit’s scent.
Hazelkit suppressed a giggle from his hiding spot. The flower let out a sweet smell, partially blocking his other senses and he glanced at the only way out of his spot.
~Featherfall~
“I found you!”
He appeared from the entrance, going closer to the kit.
“Featherfall?” Hollystar asked, coming into the den “May I talk to you privately?”
~Featherfall~
“Oh! Yes! Hazelkit you’ve won, go and hide your gem and I’ll find it when I come back. Hide it real well now!”
He padded out with Hollystar.
“What is it?”
“When do you want Hazelkit to be your apprentice?” the black she-cat asked, her green eyes glowing, “I’m sure most of the kits in this clan need to be apprentices soon.”
~Featherfall~
“Perhaps sometime soon? He’s nearing 6 moons.. So perhaps in a few more days?”
“Okay.” Hollystar said, “Let me know when you want him to.”
~Featherfall~
“3 more days. Is there anything else you need?’
Hazelkit tried to contain his excitement and darted back into the den. Three more days, he thought excitedly, only three more days! He let out a tiny squeal of excitement. Aware that it could sound like a distressed cry, he clamped his jaws shut.
Hazelkit nodded and waited until Featherfall was out of the den to hide it. He’ll never find it, he thought triumphantly. Being careful not to be seen, he hovered in the entrance of the den. His ears were pricked up curiously and his tail slightly twitched as he tried to hear what they were talking about.
~Featherfall~
He entered the den again.”Alright Hazelkit I’m back, now to find your gem!”
(before featherfall went to his den)
“No, thank you for your time!” Hollystar said, then walked away.
Hazelkit nodded quickly, trying to hide his excitement at becoming Featherfall’s apprentice. “I’ve hidden it, somewhere you’ll never find it.” he taunted mischievously.
(And if someone asks, yes, I did include a Disney Quote in there 😛)
~Featherfall~
“Oh, we’ll see about that!”
He purred with amusement, sniffing around the den.
He caught a whiff of the flower. Its scent was a bit overbearing. He followed the scent until he found it, carefully picking it up.
“Found it!”
(I just had an angsty idea-)
Hazelkit’s eyes widened in surprise. “W-well, of course you found it,” he stammered quickly. “I-I purposefully didn’t hide it well, you know, so-so you wouldn’t feel sad.” He glanced up at Featherfall, trying to hide his smile. “Let me hide it again!” He bounced up and down, excitement making him hyper.
(Oo, tell me, tell me, tell me! ((Lol, I sound like a 5 year old 😜)) )
~Featherfall~
“Alright alright, here you go”
He gave Hazelkit the flower.. turning around and crouching, using his tail to cover his eyes.
(Moons later, perhaps right before Hazelkit gets his med cat name, Featherfall dies. and to add onto it; Hazelkit gets his own app, and plays this flower game with them)
Hazelkit snatched the flower up and hid it once again, better this time. “Ok, you can open you eyes!” He exclaimed excitedly. He trailed right behind Featherfall, tail twitching happily.
(That’s such a good idea, and it definitely won’t make me cry… Definitely not 😝)
~Featherfall~
He tried sniffing it out. Its sent was covered a bit better.
“Hmm.. Where oh where can that flower be?”
He suddenly turned and bent down to Hazelkit, gently flicking his nose with his tail
“Did you eat it?”
(We shall do it >:D maybe. But I just realized Hazelkit hasn’t eaten for awhile-)
Hazelkit giggled, “Of course not, silly,” he smiled. “But I am kind of hungry…” He flicked his ear as a small piece of the flower landed on it.
(Oops… Is that REALLY necessary? ((Jk, jk, I’ll make him eat in a sec 😛)) )
~Featherfall~
“Well come on, let’s go get you some prey from the prey pile, you need to eat if you want to keep up with me!”
He padded out of the den, an to the prey pile. Picking out a small vole and a mouse for the two.
Hazelkit ran after him, tripping over his own feet in excitement. “Can keep playing the game after we eat?” He asked, stopping beside the fresh-kill pile.
Marshkit sat next to Blackkit and started licking her fur clean. “Have you seen Hazelkit recently?” She asked, glancing around. Her eyes darkened with worry, making her seem moons older than she was.
“He’s probably hanging with Featherfall,” Seakit smirked.
Blackkit wacked her with his tail, “Hey! Not cool!”
Blackkit licked Marshkit’s fur reassuringly.
Marshkit sighed and gently leaned against Blackkit. “He’ll be fine,” she tried to convince herself, “he’s probably just playing. He’ll be fine.” She repeated. She glanced up at Blackkit, “When do you think we’ll be made apprentices?” She asked, trying to take her mind off of Hazelkit.
“Any day now!” Blackkit exclaimed, “I’m so excited!”
(when do you want them to be made apps)
Marshkit smiled and glanced at Emberstream, “Mummy will be sad,” she meowed quietly. Everything is changing… and I can’t do anything about it, she realized with a start. She stood and stared at Emberstream. “I’m gonna go with mum.” She said to Blackkit. “I’ll be back in a bit.” She ran over to Emberstream and rubbed against her, purring.
“Okay!” Blackkit squeaked.
Emberstream stood, “I think I’m going to grab a piece of fresh-kill, do you want any?” She asked Wavepool.
“Sure!” she purred, “Anything is fine.”
Emberstream walked over to the fresh-kill pile, stealing glances at Blackkit and Marshkit along the way. They really do have a special bond, she realized. She reached the pile and grabbed a mouse and a vole. As she trotted back over to Wavepool, a sad thought entered her mind, clouding her thoughts. She laid the prey down when she reached Wavepool and sat back down with a sigh.
“You okay?” Wavepool asked gently, “It’s okay. Kits grow up. Some die, but you’ll learn to live your life, without always feeling pain. I’m still missing my kit, Puddlepounce. He died in the battle against MothClan. At least I have Splashpool..”
Emberstream purred when Marshkit pressed against her flank.
“Mummy, will you come play with us?” Marshkit asked, glancing at Wavepool.
“Maybe later,” Emberstream answered her gently. She licked Marshkit’s head and curled her tail around her daughter. “What made you come over here?” She asked curiously.
Marshkit glanced at her paws, “Blackkit says we’ll be apprentices soon… But I don’t wanna leave you.” She stared up at Emberstream, eyes full of indecision.
Emberstream purred again and flicked her tail over Marshkit’s ears, “I won’t be gone forever,” she comforted. “Anytime you want to see me, you can just come get me.”
Marshkit smiled, “Yeah, but-but where will I sleep?”
Emberstream laughed softly, “Why don’t you go ask Blackkit?” She suggested. “He’ll probably know.”
Marshkit nodded and dashed back over to Blackkit.
Emberstream turned to Wavepool, “I’m sorry about Puddlepounce,” she said gently.
“Thanks,” Wavepool said, then she saw Hazelkit dashing to Hollystar’s den, “Hey, is that Hazelkit?”
Emberstream nodded slowly, watching him run. “What could be going on?” She wondered aloud. “I’ll be right back.” She meowed before bounding over to Featherfall. “What’s going on?” She asked him, not noticing the prey lying on the ground.
~Featherfall
~ “It-” He stopped. He shouldnt worry the queen.
“Its nothing”
He blocked her view from the maggot-filled prey
Emberstream glanced behind him worriedly, “Are you sure? Maybe I should get Hazelkit…” She stepped around Featherfall, trying to spot Hazelkit.
~Featherfall~
“He isn’t around right now!”
He pushed the mouse further behind him.
(Respondinng to EMberstream)
~Featherfall~
“I don’t see why not”
He gave Hazelkit the choice of the mouse and vole
“Which one?”
Hazelkit sniffed each. He prodded the mouse with his paw and recoiled with a hiss of disgust. Without a word, he rolled it over tentivly. “Look at that,” he watched as maggots squirmed out from the mouse. “It means something, doesn’t it?” He whispered, looking up at Featherfall with wide eyes.
~Featherfall~
His fur bristled and his heart sank. Maggots. He leaned down to Hazelkit and moved him away from the prey.
“Hazelkit, Go get Hazelkit, now. This is a very bad sign.”
I MEANT HOLLYSTAR SHOOT-)
Hazelkit nodded obediently and ran across the clearing to Hollystar’s den. He paused, panting outside. “Hollystar?” He called, voice shrill with panic. “Hollystar, Featherfall needs you.”
(Ur good 😊)
“Oh, thanks, Hazelkit,” Hollykit said and hurried to Featherfall’s den, “What is it, Featherfall?”
~Featherfall~
He moved, showing her the maggot-filled prey.
“This is bad. Very bad.”
Hazelkit pressed against Featherfall, whimpering quietly. He stared at the prey and was rushed into memories. He quickly stumbled away, accidentally bumping into Marshkit and Blackkit. His eyes remained trained on the mouse as he backed away slowly.
~Featherfall~
“Perhaps you should go lie down, Hazelkit..”
Marshkit sat back down next to Blackkit, but now her eyes were sparkling happily. She flicked her tail and smiled at him, “So, when we’re made apprentices,” she started chattering. “Where do we sleep?”
(U can make them apprentices anytime you want, I don’t really have a preference 😊)
“The apprentice den!” Blackkit squeaked, and as he said that Hollystar approached Shineleaf.
“All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Shineleaf for a clan meeting,” Hollystar said, “Today, we will have five new apprentices!”
“Seakit, step forward. From this day, until you get your warrior name, you shall be known as Seapaw. Your mentor will be Lostshadow. Lostshadow, it is time for your first apprentice. I know you will train her well.” Hollystar paused, and Seapaw looked at Blackkit, her eyes shining.
“Blackkit step forward. From this day, until you get your warrior name, you shall be known as Blackpaw. Your mentor will be Willowstrike. Willowstrike, I know you will train him well.” Hollystat said, Blackpaw and Seapaw squealed in excitement.
“Marshkit, step forward. From this day, until you get your warrior name, you shall be known as Marshpaw. Your mentor will be Dropletrain. Dropletrain, train her well, I know you will.” Hollystar said, and Dropletrain nodded.
“Hazelkit, step forward. From this day, until you get your warrior name, you shall be known as Hazelpaw. Your mentor will be Featherfall.
“Leafkit, step forward. From this day, until you get your warrior name, you shall be known as Leafpaw. Your mentor will be Blackstorm.” Hollystar leaped off Shineleaf, “Clan dismissed.”
{~}Blackpaw & Seapaw{~}
“We’re apprentices!” they squealed.
(yes, I just made a new cat bc we needed mentors. Also, if u want Emberstream could mentor one of Wavepool’s kits if she wants to)
Marshkit leaped into the air in excitement and bowled over Blackkit, “We can start training!” She exclaimed.
Leafkit smiled happily and flicked his tail, “Ok, lovebirds,” he teased. “Marshkit, get off him.”
Marshkit hopped off and playfully glared Leafkit.
Hazelkit glanced up at Featherfall, “When can we start training?” He asked eagerly.
(Emberstream can mentor a kit if you want 😊)
~Lostshadow~
He padded up to Seapaw, looking at the apprentice. Its been awhile since he’s trained some cat. Willowstrike padding up behind him
~Featherfall~
He sat by Hazelpaw, looking at him.
“You’ll do great!”
{~}Seapaw{~}
“When do we start? What are we gonna do?” Seapaw rambled, and kept asking questions.
(I think I’m good on mentors, thanks, but if u want to mentor Blackpaw that’d be ok, as long as its fine with Glitchstorm)
(no, it’s fine! Emberstream doesn’t have to have an apprentice 😁)
~Lostshadow~
“We’ll check out our territory tomorrow, for now, go get used to your denmates and your new sleeping area.”
Hazelpaw glanced up at him, “You really think so?” He asked. “But what if I mess up and hurt someone? What if I accidentally give them the wrong herb? What if-” he paused and looked at his paws. “What if I’m just not good enough?” He whispered.
~Featherfall~
“You won’t mess up, hurt anybody. You are good enough, want to know why? Because you’re the mighty Hazelpaw! Who will heal anyone in his path!”
Hazelpaw giggled and smiled up at Featherfall, “Thanks” He meowed.
~Featherfall~
“Now, lets go get your be set up.”
“Ok!” Hazelpaw bounced up and trotted around Featherfall.
~Featherfall~
“Alright we need moss.. and I believe I have a few feathers.”
Hazelpaw nodded, “Right. Moss…” He glanced around, trying to think. “There’s some in the woods right by the juniper tree.” He reasoned. “There’s also some by the sycamore, but it’s in a hole and I don’t want to put my paw in that.” He looked up at Featherfall, “Do you know where any is?”
Marshpaw smiled brightly at Blackpaw, “We’re apprentices!” She exclaimed happily. She glanced over at Emberstream, who watched them proudly. Marshpaw turned back to Blackpaw, “We get to sleep in the apprentice den, now!” She meowed. “Let’s go check it out and pick our nests!” She eagerly stood.
Leafpaw watched Marshpaw talk and sighed. He stood and looked up at his mentor. “Blackstorm, when do we start training?” He asked, wanting to take his mind off of his sister.
{~}Blackpaw{~}
“Okay!” he squealed and scampered after her.
{~}Wavepool{~}
She sighed, “I’ll miss them. Won’t be long before new kits, though.”
Wavepool oddly had a lot of kits, when hers became apprentices, she had a new litter soon after. Wasn’t long before that’d happen again.
Marshpaw ran toward den and walked in. She paused in the entrance. “Where do you want to sleep?” She asked eagerly
Blackpaw looked around, then saw a nice looking nest near the middle, and saw another right next to it.
“Let’s sleep here and here!” he squealed, nodding to the two nests.
Marshpaw nodded excitedly, “Yeah!” She exclaimed happily. She walked over and smiled at him, “Which one do you want?” She asked him.
Leafpaw walked in, “Marshpaw, where do you want to-” he stopped when he saw the two standing beside the nests. “Oh, um, never mind.” He said quickly, backing out of the den.
Marshpaw watched him go, “I’m sure he’ll be fine,” she meowed, turning back to Blackpaw. “I’ll make it up to him later.”
[Reply to Wavepool]
Emberstream nodded, “I don’t know what to do without them constantly pestering me,” she meowed with a small laugh. Her smile faded and she sighed, “I’ll miss all of them so much.” She stared at her paws and memories filled her mind. “They were all so small,” she whispered, voice trembling. “They’ve all grown up in their own way.” She shook her head and glanced at Wavepool, “Sorry… I-I guess I got lost for a second, huh?”
{~}Blackpaw{~}
“He still feels bad about what he said to you,” Blackpaw reassured, “I’ll take this one, and you can have that one?”
{~}Wavepool{~}
Wavepool laughed, “You’ll get used to it. Hey, maybe soon you’ll find the purrfect cat for you in HollyClan. Who knows, you may have new kits soon!”
(hey, should I make a snobby apprentice??? like who is mean to all the new ones, and maybe Leafpaw sides with her or something? [kind of tryna give leafpaw a purpose, he doesn’t do much])
Marshpaw nodded, “Ok!” She meowed happily. She let out a little joyus squeal and tackled Blackpaw. “Oh, sorry.” She said quickly, getting off of him hurriedly. She licked her chest fur smooth and glanced at him mischievously.
Emberstream shook her head, “I doubt I’ll find anyone. I think I’ve had my fill of toms.” She meowed with a small laugh.
[OMG, YES! That would be great! 😆]
{}Blackpaw{}
Blackpaw shook off his fur, “It’s okay.” He said shyly, he knew he was young, but Marshpaw just made him so happy, and he loved that.
{}Wavepool{}
Wavepool barked a laugh, “We’ll see!”
(I made her! Her name is Tigerpaw/prowl… kinda purrfect for a bully. Just verifying, Leafpaw sides with her, right? And maybe she takes advantage of Leafpaw… idk)
Marshpaw smiled and started to walk out of the den, “Let’s find something to do,” she suggested. “Before we’re forced to train and hunt.” She playfully flicked her tail across the bridge of Blackpaw’s nose before bounding out of the den.
(Yea, Leafpaw sides with her. she could manipulate him or tell him lies and try to convince him that his sister doesn’t care about him, maybe?)
{~}Droplet’rain{~}
Droplet’rain walked into the apprentice den.
“Marshpaw, tomorrow we will explore the territory,” she said kindly, then walked over to Willowstrike.
“Hey,” she said, “Want to take Blackpaw and Marshpaw out to explore the territory?” she asked.
(Im so sorry I’ve been dead, stuff came up.)
~Willowstrike~
“Yeah. Shall we go get them?”
{}Blackpaw{}
Blackpaw squeaked in surprise and bounded after Marshpaw.
(Ok, let’s get Tigerpaw in here)
|{}|Tigerpaw|{}|
Tigerpaw rolled her eyes, and looked at Leafpaw.
“Apprentices.” She hissed, “That still act like kits are better off dead. Apprentices that act like warriors are better off as leaders.”
Marshpaw turned to him and laughed, “You can’t catch me!” She taunted.
Leafpaw glanced at Tigerpaw and nodded in agreement, but didn’t say anything. He watched Marshpaw and Blackpaw and surpressed a feeling of lonelyness. “They’re just added weight that the clan doesn’t need.” He meowed to Tigerpaw, trying to get his mind off of his sister’s close relationship.
“We’ll see!” He squeaked and lightly pounced on Marshpaw.
Tigerpaw looked at Leafpaw, “But I assume your different, right?”
*act I meant you’re*
Marshpaw slipped away from Blackpaw with a light laugh, “Nice try!” She called back at him. She slightly veered toward Leafpaw, hoping to get him playing too.
Leafpaw watched Marshpaw through narrowed eyes, “Obviously,” he muttered through clenched teeth. “Only a fool would be like her.”
Marshpaw stopped in her tracks, hearing the last bit of his comment, and stared at Leafpaw, a hurt expression appearing on her face. Her gaze suddenly hardened and she turned and stiffly walked back into the apprentice den.
Leafpaw watched her go and sighed.
Blackpaw looked at Marshpaw’s sad eyes, and followed her into the den, gently grooming her fur.
Tigerpaw smiled. Tearing families apart was the best thing she’s done in a while.
“Your sister doesn’t care about you,” she whispered loud enough for Leafpaw to hear, “Family never cares about others, they never will. I know from experience.”
Marshpaw furiously lashed her tail, “What is his problem?!” She burst out suddenly. She sat down in her nest and tried to control her anger. “That’s twice now! He acts like he hates me!” She cried, distressed. She stared at her paws, “It’s all my fault, isn’t it?” She whispered, voice trembling.
Leafpaw looked at Tigerpaw, his gaze flickering indecisively. “She really is nice…” He tried to convince himself. “She just…” He tried to figure out why she was always mad at him. He hung his head, “I don’t know.” He admitted quietly. “Mum doesn’t pay attention to me much anymore, and Marshpaw obviously is preoccupied with Blackpaw.” He rolled his eyes, annoyed.
She nodded, “See? I told you.” She whispered again, “No. one. cares.”
(Wait, so u took Blackpaw as an app? If not, you could have Tigerpaw)
“No!” Blackpaw exclaimed, “It’s not your fault. Leafpaw’s just a meany and wants to upset you! Are you gonna let him?”
Leafpaw looked up at Tigerpaw, “Yeah, I guess you are right.” He said quietly. He sat up straight, “And it really isn’t MY fault that she’s so sensitive,” he tried to convince himself. “She’s just spent way too much time around the wrong cats.” Like Blackpaw, he resisted the urge to say the last bit.
Marshpaw clenched her teeth angerly, “Leafpaw is just such a… A no good, fox-heart, mouse-brained, piece of-” she stopped in realization. She quickly turned to Blackpaw, “Don’t tell my mum I said that,” she meowed quickly. “She’ll be so mad…” She ducked her head, “I guess I got a bit carried away…” She said apologetically.
(I don’t have an app, so I’ll take Tigerpaw 😊 Glitchedstorm has Blackpaw as an app)
Tigerpaw smiled evilly.
Blackpaw promised, “I won’t.”
(It’s bc u said Emberstream had her hands full with Blackpaw)
Leafpaw stood, “I’m gonna go find my mentor,” he meowed confidently. “There’s no harm in starting training a day early.”
Marshpaw smiled at him, “Thanks,” she whispered. “I think I’m ready to talk to Leafpaw now.” She took a deep breath and stood. “Um, I think I’d be best if I did this alone…” She inwardly winced, not wanting to hurt Blackpaw’s feelings.
Tigerpaw shrugged, “Of course not, you never know when your gonna need it.”
Blackpaw wasn’t the slightest offended, “Go ahead,” he mewed, settling down for the night in his soft nest.
Leafpaw started looking around for Blackstorm.
Marshpaw brushed her muzzle against his ear, “Thanks.” She whispered quietly. She bounded out of the den, accidentally running right into Leafpaw.
“Hey, watch where you’re going!” Leafpaw snapped angerly.
Marshpaw flinched and glanced at her paws. “Um, Leafpaw, I-I was hoping that we could talk…”
Leafpaw unsheathed his claws, “Why should we? You’d clearly rather stay with Blackpaw so leave me alone!”
His paw flew across Marshpaw’s face and she stumbled away, blood dripping into her eyes.
Leafpaw stared at her in horror, “Marshpaw, I-I didn’t mean to-” he stopped and ran, terrified of what he had done.
Marshpaw blindly stumbled into the den and shook her head, splattering droplets of blood onto the ground. She whimpered quietly and started breathing heavily.
“Marshpaw!” Blackpaw exclaimed, running over.
He bared his teeth at Leafpaw and snarled, “How could you do this?”
“Marshpaw, let’s get Featherfall,” he said.
Marshpaw shook her head, “Leave him alone.” She whispered. “Leave Leafpaw alone.”
Leafpaw flinched and quickly started backing up.
~Featherfall~
“Hazelpaw?”
He poked his head into the med den, hoping to find Hazelpaw there, he didn’t know where the tom went
(SORRY STUFF HAPPENED IRL)
Hazelpaw looked up from where he was separating herbs and smiled, “Hi, Featherfall!” He meowed cheerfully. “Did you need me for something.” He tipped his head curiously.
(You’re all good, Glitch! Life comes first 😊)
~Featherfall~
“Ah! Yes! We’re going to go pick some herbs, and I’ll show you where the best herb spots are”
He padded into the den
“Are you ready to go now? Or would you rather we start a bit later?”
(Thank you for understanding <3, also I was tempted to have Featherfall challenge Hazelpaw to a race, first one to the camp entrance wins!)
Hazelpaw bounced over, “We can go now!” He meowed excitedly, looking forward to stretch his legs.
(That would be good! I don’t mind!)
“Featherfall!” Seapaw gasped, running in, “Marshpaw’s hurt! Leafpaw slashed her face!”
~Featherfall~
“What?! Lead me to them! Hazelpaw follow!”
His behavior changed quickly as he followed Seapaw
Marshpaw sat, numbly staring at the wall and leaned on Blackpaw. She jerked her head up at Featherfall entered and started backing up, “It’s not his fault,” she meowed quickly. “It’s not Leafpaw’s fault. Please don’t get him in trouble.” She shook violently and pressed against Blackpaw.
Leafpaw hovered in the corner, eyes wide as he heard Marshpaw’s words. He fought back tears and backed out of the den, accidentally bumping into Seapaw on the way out.
Hazelpaw stared at his sister with a distressed look on his face, “Cobwebs.” He meowed quickly. “We’ll need cobwebs.” She glanced at Featherfall for permission to find some.
~Featherfall~
“Yes. Cobwebs, get some water while your at it.. Horsetail if you can find any, and a poppyseed to help after we’ve helped her. If you run into Blackstorm tell him too.”
He crouched down beside Marshpaw
“What happened?”
Hazelpaw nodded and dashed into the medicine den. His mind reeled as he grabbed the supplies and ran back over to Featherfall. “Here.” He dropped a wad of moss soaked with water down before handing the cobwebs to Featherfall. He placed the horsetail on the ground, “What do you need me to do?” He asked worriedly.
Marshpaw stared at him, “It was my fault,” she whispered. “It’s all my fault.” She started breathing quickly and her eyes flickered uncertainly. “I made him upset. Then, I ran into him and he was still cleaning down.” She started shaking and looking around wildly. “It’s not his fault, don’t punish him.”
~Featherfall~
“Marshpaw take a deep breath. Hazelpaw work on keeping her calm while I stop her bleeding”
He started to treat the wounds carefully
“it’s not your fault!” Blackpaw said, “It’s not your fault.” He gently licked Marshpaw’s back reassuringly.
Seapaw turned to Leafpaw, “How could you DO this?” She snarled to him, unsheating her claws.
~Featherfall~
“ENOUGH! I don’t need any more injuries! Both of you, OUT!”
He raised his voice to get the point across.
“If either of you come to me with wounds from the other I’ll make sure you’re on tick duty and bed duty for two moons!”
Leafpaw ducked his head and ran out of the den, straight into Emberstream.
“What in the world is happening over here?” Emberstream curled her tail around the distraught Leafpaw.
Leafpaw whimpered and pushed against Emberstream, “I hurt Marshpaw.”
Emberstream’s eyes widened in surprise, “I’m sure she doesn’t blame you,” she meowed comfortingly. “Why did you hurt her?”
Leafpaw stared at his paws, “I don’t know.” He whispered, voice trembling.
Emberstream licked his head before walking into the den toward Marshpaw, “Honey, are you ok?” She asked, glancing at Featherfall.
Marshpaw gave a tiny nod before looking at Blackpaw, “It is my fault, I shouldn’t have rushed apologizing when Leafpaw was still hurt.” She sighed and her tail twitched restlessly. “Will I still be able to start training tomorrow?” She asked Featherfall anxiously.
~Featherfall~
“I don’t know.. The cut was pretty deep, I suggest you rest, I’ll let-”
He was cut off by Blackstorm rushing in.
~Blackstorm~
“I just heard what happened! Are you alright Marshpaw?!”
He worriedly approached her, crouching down. He looked at Featherfall and Emberstream “What happened?”
Emberstream opened her mouth to speak, but Marshpaw quickly meowed, “Nothing, it was just an accident.”
Emberstream gave her a hard stare before turning to Willowstrike, “Just a bit of sibling rivalry going on,” she whispered. “She’ll be fine.”
~Featherfall~
“Blackstorm please calm down-”
~Blackstorm~
“But her face! That isn’t just sibling rivalry!”
