Okay, so this post is a little later than what I would’ve wanted, but I’ve had a busy week 😛 I’m also a little tired, so, only one cat pic this time 😛 You’re getting plenty from Cadvent, anyway...
The seventh edition of the Blog Monthly is here – written by Lil, fresh off the printing press Hello, everyone!! The Blog Monthly is back and better than ever! I hope you all love this edition, in my opinion it is one...
Sliverthorn argues why Ashfur would’ve been better for Squirrelflight than Brambleclaw.
Kinsly weaved her way through the cats, searching for one in particular. “Brownie?” She called desperately. “Brownie, are you here?” She glanced around, hoping to spot him through the throng of cats.
~Sasha~
The she-cat lay in the snow, closing her eyes she let the gentle rustling of the leaves and the muffled falling of the snowflakes clear her mind. She doesn’t like other cats, and unfortunately for her, this Forest was filled to the brim with them. finding her previous owners would be useless, so she had to make her home here. in a secluded area where no one can find her.
Ember uncurled from under a tree and glanced around. She smiled slightly, then remembered the night before. She winced and stood unsteadily. I have to find Tiger, she thought determinedly. She walked around the woods, “Tiger!” She yelled. “Tiger, where are you?”
“Why do you care.” This question was spoke as a statement, from a dark form sitting on the other side of the tree, his tail whisking back and forth. He stepped into the light, lifting his head as he did so. But this wasn’t the same cat who had fallen in love with Ember the moment he had seen her. No, this was someone else, a dark figure with no emotion in his mew. His fur was patchy, ungroomed, with dark circles under his eyes. His eyes had no love in them, none, and they seemed as bleak as a cold winter’s night. His stripes seemed dull, and they didn’t shine as they used to. Whoever this was, it wasn’t the Tiger that the cats had loved, and appreciated, and admired. This was somecat else entirely.
Ember ran over, relieved, but stopped a few tail lengths away when she noticed his appearance. “Tiger, are you ok?” She asked, voice shaking. “I-I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone to Leopard.” She took a step closer, close enough to brush her tail over his paws. “Tiger?” She whispered, trembling. “I’m so sorry.” She stared straight into his eyes, desperately hoping that he would forgive her.
For the first time, a hint of emotion lit in Tiger’s eyes. Anger. “No. I can’t do this anymore! I can’t. Y- you proved you didn’t love me anymore when you dumped me for that- that piece of crowfood! You two are perfect for each other.” He turned away, his tail brushing Ember’s cheek as he did so. “You know, you might as well join Moon, with her group of traitorous she-cats. They’re no better than you are.” He stopped, realizing he had said too much. He wasn’t supposed to know about that anyway. He crumpled to the floor, the weight of all that he was bearing forcing him to the ground.
Ember took a shuddery breath at his words, “I made a mistake!” She cried loudly. “I know that now!” She sobbed quietly and touched Tiger’s back with her tail. “Tiger-” she stopped and hung her head. “I-” she tried to speak, but couldn’t get the words out through her sobs. She pulled her tail away and watched him with despair. She waited a moment until her tears had slowed. “Tiger, I am so sorry.” She whispered, voice shaking unsteadily. “But if you can’t forgive me, maybe we aren’t made for each other. I have tried and tried, but this is turning into a one-sided relationship. And I will not be in one of those. Not now, not ever again.” She stood and waited, her fur slightly blue from fear for his reaction.
Tiger turned around, hope glistening in his eyes. Saying nothing, he slowly padded forward, and touched his nose to Ember’s.
Ember felt a shudder pass through her whole body and looked up at Tiger. She gently brushed her muzzle on the tip of his ear, eyes bright. She opened her mouth to speak, but suddenly swung her head around as a twig snapped behind her. “who’s there?” She called, scanning the trees.
~Eclipse~
The she-cat faced turned a hot red, but she still stepped out of the shadows.
“Sorry t-o intrude,” she meowed embarrassed, she walked for a little then stumbled over a hole in the ground, falling over. she stood up and looked at the ground not wanting anyone see her face.
“S-sorry” she mumbled then hurried out of the clearing.
Ember ran after her, “Hey, it’s ok!” She called. “Are you ok? Wait up!” She wildly glanced around for Eclipse.
Bayou tensed as Breeze spoke and tried to control her emotions, “Um, hi Breeze. I’m Bayou.” She felt a muscle spasm coming on and tried to get away from Breeze. “Go, go now!” She cried, backing away into the woods. “Please” she dragged herself deeper into the woods, praying that Breeze didnt follow her.
Breeze frowned. “You, my friend, are obviously in pain. I’m not going anywhere.” She walked over to Bayou and sat down beside her, fixing her with a calm stare. “Friends don’t let friends suffer by themselves.”
Bayou started breathing heavily and stared up at Breeze, “Th-thanks.” She meowed weakly. Without another word, her muscles started spasming. She let out a screech of pain, but was comforted by Breeze’s presence. When it was over, her chest was heaving as she tried to catch her breath. “S-sorry about that.” she meowed, teeth chattering from the cold. She carefully stood, legs shaking, and glanced up at Breeze. She slightly stumbled, “Stupid legs.” She hissed under her breath as she plopped onto the ground.
“Hey, don’t worry!” Breeze said, sitting down next to Bayou. “I have a syndrome a little like that as well. Can you keep it a secret?” Breeze, however, being Breeze, didn’t wait for a response. “I have something the Twolegs called asthma. It causes me to cough, wheeze, have trouble breathing, and other things having to do with my lungs. It gets pretty scary.” She sighed and looked down at Bayou.
Bayou shuddered uncontrollably and sat up. “My-my brother had the s-same thing I-I have… But he… He…” She sighed and extended her claws into the ground. “He had a spasm like I just did… He was happy because I had met someone and became friends… He got so excited that he went into a seizure… The humans couldn’t- He didn’t make it.” Her voice faded to a hoarse whisper and she turned away. “2 moons ago today,” she meowed, voice barely loud enough to hear. “He left two moons ago.” She stared up at the sky and let out a bone chilling sigh.
Remy watched Fleck anxiously, “How are you feeling?” He asked her. “Do you still have a cough? Have you checked to see if you have a fever?” He worriedly paced
Haven woke up and instantly went over to the stump. He thought deeply and tried to figure out how to organize all the cats, unaware of [insert name here] walking up to him.
“Hey Haven.” Spirit sighed. “I can’t wait to leave this forest.” She peered closer at him, reading his emotions. “You seem tired.”
Haven glanced at her, “Of course I’m tired,” he snapped. Then he sighed, “Sorry, there’s just so many cats and each one has to eat and the kits need to keep warm and not many cats know how to hunt…” He trailed off, staring at his paws. “And I am the only one who decided to take action and organize cats for hunting.” He stood and started pacing again. “And we can’t forget that if there is an attack on the queens or kits, they could be too far away for us to hear them. And now cats have gone deeper into the woods and I need all the paws I can get.” He lashed his tail worriedly.
~Eclipse~
The she-cat sat by the stump, eating a fat vole. with a mouse and shrew set beside her. she glanced up as she heard Heavens worried talk, but decided not to speak up. the queens and kits could hunt for themselves, they were in no way her responsibility.
Addie accidentally bumped into her.
“Oh, no!” She said, “I’m so sorry!”
~Eclipse~
“Watch it” she meowed harshly.
“I can help!” Spirit said, waving her tail excitedly. “I know someone. She has been keeping separate from the other cats, but I met her yesterday. Her name is Siren, and she has the power to well- you’ll have to meet her.” She started leading Haven in the direction of when she had last seen Siren, then paused. “She might not still be there. Shes a little… reclusive.”
(Sorry about the wait for a response :P)
Haven followed Spirit, mind still trying to work out how to help all the cats. He glanced around, “So, where is she?” He asked curiously.
“Well… I don’t know.” Spirit said, looking at the ground. “I suppose we’ll just have to look for her. Her fur is patterned almost like a fish, if that helps.” Just then, a high, light voice came from behind them. “Were you looking for me?” Spirit jumped, then turned around to face a tall, light gray she-cat who was looking down at them. “Oh- Siren!” Spirit exclaimed. “You scared me.” Siren made Spirit nervous, for some strange reason. She was so hard to read, and she always seemed to have no emotions. Spirit, being uncomfortable, shoved Haven in front of her. “Oh, this is Haven! I don’t believe you’ve met him.” Siren just arched an eyebrow at him, then returned her unblinking gaze to Spirit.
Haven nodded politely to Siren, “Spirit said you could help organize cats and help out” This was spoken like a question and he glanced at Spirit for confirmation.
Mia looked up at Saphira and Moon.
“So. What are we gonna do?” She asked with no emotion.
(I’m turning Mia into a cat with anger issues and doesn’t always care for Addie, instead of her being a scaredy-cat and always staying by addies side)
~Saphira~
“We need to befriend them, so thy trust us” she started
She nodded, “Seems like a good start. We should do a lot of stuff for them (she hissed when she said do stuff for them) and then soon they’ll think we are the best possible to lead.”
~Saphira~
She nodded.
“So, Mia, you and I will go cover find Remy. and Moon I think you’re quite capable of Handling Fleck.” she meowed
“Fine by me,” Mia mewed, “Moon, is that alright?”
“Yeah.” she said nonchalantly, licking her chest. “I wonder where I can find her…”
~Sasha~
“Good, She’ll probably be at the stump where Haven organizes the hunting patrols” she meowed.
Star padded through the forest, with (insert name here) beside her. Night was descending on the world, and Star’s pale gray fur began to glow a soft, pulsing blue. “Ugh,” she spat. “Not again! How am I supposed to hunt now?” With a groan, she plopped down and sadly whispered, “It feels like we’re never gonna leave this forest.”
~Domino~
The tom laid his tail on her shoulder.
“we’re going to be alright, I can hunt for the two of us” he meowed reassuringly.
“And even if we don’t find our way out, we can just make our home here”
~Sasha~
The she-cat wandered around when she came across a small badger set, sniffing it carefully, she found that it had been abandoned for a week and a bit.
“This will do I suppose” she meowed to herself as she clawed her way into it. She looked around, the only light was from the entrance, but there was a small stream of water falling into a tiny pool at the corner of the set. “It could use some work, but it’s relatively hidden, some more light would be useful, but you can’t have everything i guess,” she thought to herself. “Anyways, Time to hit the hay.” she thought as she stretched, she then curled up into a tight ball and let the darkness of sleep envelop her. not expecting (Insert name here) to walk in a few minutes later.
Splashes walked up to the badger den, not knowing a cat was already there. She didn’t use her nose for much when she was a kittypet, so she didn’t know why she’d need to use it now.
“Ew! I have mud on my paws!” She complained, “And it’s smells terrible!”
She walked into the badger den, noticing Sasha. The moment she saw her, she flashed her grey spots and activated the charm where cats would like her within four fox lengths.
“Hi,” she said, “Can I stay here for the night? I’m Splashes.”
(If u don’t know who splashes is, she’s moderating. But I’m getting rid of Abigail)
~Sasha~
“Oh for goodness sake, so much for staying alone,” she thought to herself annoyed.
“Fine, you can stay here until you find somewhere else to stay, but you’re hunting for yourself and fetching everything for yourself.” she meowed.
“And try not to cause too much of a ruckus, I don’t want more cats wandering in here.” she meowed then curled up again closing her eyes.
(How about Splashes and Sasha become friends after a while)
She shrugged, “Fine by me.”
She walked over to the puddle, and dipped her paw into it, and quietly licked the mud off of her paw, then did the same with the other, and curled up as far away from the puddle she could.
~Sasha~
She heard the splashing of water and raised her head.
“SERIOUSLY, who does this she-cat think she is,” she thought.
“That’s our drinking water you know” she meowed, she tried to sound harsh but something stopped her from doing so (Splashes’ power)
“You’re going to need to go outside to drink until someone soaks out the dirty water.” she said “And it’s not going to be me” she added to herself.
Splashes looked up at her, “Oh, but who will?” She said in a sad, quiet way, making puppy dog eyes, “Surely you would do it for me?”
Splashes continued licking her paws, and then settled again away from the puddle.
Is this how much my powers work? She’s snappy, even to me!… she thought, But whatever. No one can find out about my power.
~Sasha~
She stared at her. In any normal situation she would have snapped at Splashes and forced her to do it right then and there, but some thing weird prevented her from being… herself.
“What on earth is going on” she thought to herself. “Though that look is hard to resist, it should be easy, for me at least. no, something else is at play here, something that prevented her from being rude, something that force her to be kind to that she-cat” she thought horrified, though she kept her thoughts to herself. “whatever it is, there is some way to stop it.” she thought, a smile grew on her face, and then she pulled out her best acting. stretching she said.
“I can’t sleep on this dirt, I’m going to go get me some thing soft to sleep on” she meowed then walked to the den entrance which was relatively away from splashes.
“I’ll be back” she meowed, then walked away slowly, knowing Splashes would ask for something as well.
Splashes called after her, “Hey! Get me something soft too, would ya?”
She smiled, her powers were starting to work better.
As long as I keep my power a secret, I’ll be the center of attention and happy.
(In response to Splashes) ~Sasha~
“Shoot, It didn’t work, and now I have to fetch something for Splashes as well,” she thought annoyed.
“Fine, but don’t expect me to get anything else for you” she meowed then turned around walking into the forest.
after a while, she found a big clump of moss,
“Perfect” she meowed to herself. then she realized.
“Why should i grab anything for that other she-cat, I can just say i forgot to grab some” she smiled mischievously. then only gathered enough moss for her bed. then walked back to the den laid it down in a circle formation and laid down, curling up into a tight ball and covering her ears so she wouldn’t wake up.
Splashes looked at Sasha and curled her lip in a snarl, “Fox heart!” She snarled to Sasha, loud enough for her to hear even after she covered her ears, “I NEED good rest! How do you expect that to happen if I don’t have a nice nest? How I am I supposed to get it? Your a fox heart!”
Splashes dapples were glowing very bright, making sure her powers were working.
~Sasha~
she looked at her unfazed. she stood up and stretched, then started talking.
“I see, You expect me to get you everything,” she circled Splashing, her eyes filled with amusement. she pointed at Splashes’ glowing fur.
“I’m assuming you are stopping me from treating you badly using your power,” she meowed.
“But there’s one problem, this is MY den, which means MY rules apply, meaning you can use your power all you want, but i would bet my food for a week that my Power is MUCH scarier than yours. “now with that out of the way, If you throw another tantrum, you’re spending the night outside, if you want bedding, You’re going to come with me, I’ll show you to a patch of moss, YOU are going to grab enough moss for your bed and to drain out the dirty water. In the morning I’m going to wake you up early to do some hunting practice while there is no one out yet.” she meowed, then she stared Splashes straight into her eyes.
“No one is going to baby you around these parts, if you even think about slacking off, I’m going to claw you into shape. No more two legs, no more getting whatever you want, now come on, you can sleep in m bed for the night.” she meowed then moved to a corner, leaving the moss bed she had made for herself empty for Splashes.
(I’m actually going to change her power to, she can cause hallucinations instead of nightmares with the same downsides as her old power.)
(In response to Ember)
~Eclipse~
Eclipse heard the brown tabby calling after, she looked behind her hoping she wasn’t following her. not noticing a branch on the ground she fell forward narrowly avoiding a dried bramble bush, but accidentally stepping into it with her left foot, she let out a yelp of pain as a thorn got snagged in her paw, suddenly the bush burst into flames, and she stumbled back, getting the thorn stuck even further, she let out another yowl taking 2 more steps back, not noticing that the river was right behind her, she slipped over the mushy ground tumbling straight into the river.
(I’m changing eclipse’s personality to quiet, shy, socially awkward, and jumpy, she doesn’t like crowds, or surprises, she hates flashing lights, strong smells, loud noises, and tight spaces. she doesn’t like to be around cats, and is very embarrassed all the time)
Ember stared in horror and jumped into the river, “Stay calm!” She called worriedly, paddling toward Eclipse. She grabbed her by the scruff and started to haul her back to shore. “We’re almost there,” she meowed weakly, her strokes getting slower and less steady. Her head nodded under for a moment and she gasped. Her fur started glowing blue with fear as the current pushed her away from the bank. “Swim!” She commanded, pushing Eclipse toward the shore. She felt a shudder pass through her spin and started wildly looking around fir Tiger. “Please, please, please.” She murmured, praying that he hadn’t followed her into the bubbling river. Her head was thrust under the water and she gasped for air. Her paw struck against something hard and she gripped it, recognizing the shape of a rock. She hauled herself on top of it and desperately scanned the edge of the bank for Eclipse.
~Eclipse~
The current tugged the she-cat along. her attempts at pushing against the current were feeble. she had exhausted most of her energy running from Ember. a spark of hope was lit when her claws got snagged at something, she looked and saw she randomly was able to catch the bank of the river, she pulled herself to the edge of the river, letting her black paw reach the bank, suddenly she felt something solid under her path, Not hesitating she dug her claws in. and slowly heaved herself out of the hungry current. she looked back to see what was under her, and she noticed a large ice crystal burst out of the ground. she stared in horror, she was the one who made that ice crystal, she was the one that set the bramble bush on fire. she darted away from the river, fearing her power more than anything.
Tiger stared, amused, after Ember and Eclipse. (Why do I imagine him in a dad sweater with buttons as I write this) He looked at himself, then started grooming, altering his appearance as to look more like himself.
Ember pushed off of the rock and started furiously paddling, just make it back to Tiger, the thought encouraged her and she found new strength. She pulled herself onto the bank and started breathing heavily. She glanced around for Eclipse, and forced herself to stand up. She walked back to Tiger, her sodden fur weighing her down. “Tiger, c-could you help me f-find that cat?” She shivered.
“Of course, but I refuse to let you go like that. You’ll freeze to death!” Tiger curled his tail around Ember and started vigorously licking her.
Apple had been wandering around, trying to explore when she heard a cat snarling. Of course Apple wanted to know what was happening….. She started slinking through the undergrowth to a badger den. She leaned up against the side of the opening making sure that if any cat came out they wouldn’t see her. Mayyyyyyyybe she should leave now but she wanted to hear the rest of the conversation while she was in a SnOoPy mood.
Kinsly wildly looked around, “Can someone help me?” She cried. “Please, I can’t find my friend!” She spun, desperately searching for anyone willing to help her.
~Blink~
“I could help,” she offered. “what do they look like?” she asked.
“oh, thank you!” Kinsly exclaimed. “His name is Brownie, he’s dark brown with a white spot around his eye and he has white paws,” she paused. “I, uh, guess I should introduce myself,” she meowed sheepishly. “My name is Kinsly, what’s yours?”
~Blink~
“I’m Blink, I’m sure we can find you’re friend, it’s only a matter of time” she meowed
Kinsly smiled at Eclipse gratefully. “I haven’t seen him in a while,” she admitted. “He wasn’t with me when I was captured… But I know he’d come for me. He always does.” She said confidently.
(Blink, not Eclipse, sry)
