‘Tuftpaw angled her ears towards the brambles. There was definitely something moving inside. As she crouched, belly fur brushing the forest floor, a mouse nosed its way into open air. The white she-cat’s fur tingled with excitement at her first catch of the day, but before she could leap, the breeze changed direction, and the mouse skittered away.’
