Hello everyone! It’s Mapey here with another article.

If you didn’t know, I have read both Warriors and Wings of Fire. Today, I want to talk about what I like from each/both series, and compare them to see which traits I like better from each series. (Please also give me your thoughts; I’d love to hear them!)

1. Characters

Warriors:

Warriors has A LOT of characters, and most of them aren’t the best and most well-written, but some have great character development, characteristics, and personality that makes them relatable and lovable.

Hollyleaf and Ivypool are two of some that have great character development throughout their arcs and other arcs, and are very popular and favorites throughout the fandom.

Most of them on the other hand can be unrelatable, bland, boring, and just unlikable characters. Of course, with so many cats it’s hard to give them all personalities, and personalities that everyone likes.

Wings of Fire:

Wings of Fire has AMAZING characters that we can all relate to and love.

To the dragonets in Jade Mountain from the first series, to SilkWings, HiveWings, and LeafWings on the other side of the world, Wings of Fire has an amazing selection of characters, and it’s hard not to have one you love. There is always great character development, and always something happening to the characters that make them interesting and fun to read about.

Unlike Warriors, Wings of Fire povs’ changes for each book, but every character is interesting and always has something for you to love about them.

Some of my favorites consist of Indigo (Wings of Fire – Legends – Darkstalker), Sunny (All series), Fatespeaker (Two series), Clearsight (Wings of Fire – Legends – Darkstalker), and so many more!

And the winner is . . .

Wings of Fire!

As much as Warriors does have amazing characters, Wings of Fire just feels like they have more personality and depth. They each have unique traits and there are more characters that just feel more relatable.

2. Antagonists

Warriors:

Warriors has amazing villains – from Mapleshade to the newest villains like Splashtail and Curlfeather, each Warriors villain has been amazing and contributes a lot to the plot! Some may not seem justified, and there are lots of articles about them that are also fun to read.

While most are amazing and great antagonists, some can be quite plain and annoying. Cats like Tigerstar 1 and Ashfur are too villain-like, and don’t have enough reason for being a villain. Tigerstar 1’s reason for being a villain was ambition, and to me that feels like every villain’s main reason for being a villain. And Ashfur was just annoying, though the arc he was an antagonist in was an amazing arc!

Wings of Fire:

Wings of Fire antagonists are always fun to read about! The battle for the throne in the first series was so fun to read and watch how the sisters fought against each other – and how they weren’t actually villains at all! Darkstalker’s greed for the throne was powered by love (somewhat like what Ashfur was doing, but in my opinion less annoying) and revenge, and how he came back in the second series was also epic. In the last series, Queen Wasp also served as a great villain, pushing Blue to come out of his shell and become a braver dragon to save his tribe. (Also, BluexCricket forever).

And the winner is . . .

Warriors!

As amazing as the Wings of Fire villains are, there are just so many more great and complex villains (Mapleshade, Sol, Curlfeather, etc) that make the Warriors antagonists more intriguing and that have so many different opinions on by the fandom.

3. Plot

Warriors:

Sometimes the plot is . . . messy and crazy, and sometimes the plot feels like it had ended before the last book. Sometimes it feels like it hasn’t finished in the last book.

Most of the plots are super fun to read, and keep you wondering who the villain/antagonist could be. Sometimes it gets you thinking: “Who could be the next leader for RiverClan?”, and sometimes it’s just fun to read and talk about to others, and learn their opinions, too. With many more series than Wings of Fire, Warriors definitely has a lot more plots – even if some weren’t the best plots.

Wings of Fire:

Wings of Fire plots are also amazing!

Most of them consist of saving the world, but with a much smaller span of books, the plots are written with a lot more detail and attention. (Not that Warriors plots are bad). Of course, I think it’s more of the antagonists and protagonists than the plot itself, but the plots for each series are pretty good, and deserve the love they get from the fandom.

And the winner is . . .

Warriors!

With so many diverse and amazing plots, it’s hard not to have one you love! In my opinion, like I said above, it’s more of the antagonists and protagonists that I believe make the Wings of Fire series so fun and engaging.

4. Ships

Warriors:

So many amazing ships from FirexSand to one of the newest ships like NightxSun. There’s so many amazing, romantic, and great ships that it’s hard not to have a favorite. Although there are some pretty amazing ships out there, some ships lack the romantical and bond-like setting that they need. Those ships can easily annoy you, and make you very much dislike them.

Wings of Fire:

Wings of Fire has. The. Best. Ships. Ever.

It would take me all day to list them all, but since having a mate in Wings of Fire is much more deep and romantical than most Warriors ships. IndegoxFathom is an example of a ship that has all the amazing and romantic traits that a romance should have.

Some ships are pretty bad here, too, and there are some ships like MoonxWinter that didn’t stay, and that we long to have back. Honestly, I want MoonxWinter and SunnyxStarflight to become canon ships again, even though it is unlikely it will happen. 😞

And the winner is . . .

Wings of Fire!

The ships here are deeper and more diverse than the Warriors ones (even though Warriors has some amazing ships) that make us fall in love with them and just feel them more than most ships in Warriors. Honestly, I am still obsessed with IndigoxFathom and ClearxDark and it’s been months since I’ve actually read Wings of Fire – Legends – Darkstalker. I think this proves how much more character and personality ships from Wings of Fire have.

5. Overall

Overall, Warriors and Wings of Fire both lack and succeed in different traits, and that’s what makes them both great series!

I hope you have enjoyed reading, and I’d like to know your opinions/thoughts about the these two series, too. Thanks!
