Why I think Mistystar deserves more love by Rosefern

Hey kitties! It’s Rosefern here! I know I did an article a long time ago about defending Mistystar’s actions in TBC. Now I just gonna explain why I think she is underrated and I really like her.
Everyone just thinks of her as just this immortal Half-Clan leader character, well obviously by now we know she’s not immortal but still.
She was a very loyal warrior of RiverClan even when she find out she was Half-Clan which is how she first really comes into the story. This was after the cat she thought was her mother died right in front of her, and then she finds out Graypool wasn’t her mother at all. That must’ve been hard for her. I think she handled it very well. I know at first she was mad but when Bluestar died soon after she forgot about that so that she could save Bluestar with the help of Stonefur. Yasssssssssss Stonefur my baby!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Stonefur so much and he’s also very underrated but that’s not the point of this article. Anyways I’m very proud of Mistystar for making the right choice even though she was mad, even though she was probably questioning everything, and she made the difficult decision to forgive Bluestar. I’m so proud of her for this, forgiveness is always the right thing to do <33
Another moment she chose forgiveness was after Leopardstar teamed up with Tigerstar and let Stonefur get killed. She heard the words, Leopardstar, the leader whom she thought she could trust, tell Stonefur to kill two innocent apprentices who just happened to be Half-Clan. Stonefur was very brave to stand up to Tigerstar there, to refuse right out, to rebel against his Clan when he knew it was right. But againnnnnnn we’re not talking about Stonefur *sighs* and then Mistystar (Mistyfoot at the time) watched evil ShadowClan warriors kill Stonefur, which must’ve been doubly hard especially considering how close the two were. Still, when Leopardstar, asked her to be deputy, she was hesitant at first, but then chose to become deputy and forgive and forget.
I love Mistyfoot’s and Leopardstar’s relationship. Leopardstar is brash but generally a decent leader, and when she makes decisions that are bad for the Clan or lets her personal feelings get in the way, Mistyfoot is always there to give Leopardstar good advice, and she balances out the relationship with her more chill nature and tendency to think more deeply about her actions. Not only were they leader and deputy though, but they were also friends, which I think is nice. Even when Leopardstar was dying she was willing to listen to Mistyfoot. Without the RiverClan cats on the beaver dam mission, sure, Rippletail would’ve lived, but Tigerheart also would’ve died because he’d choked on all that water and there wouldn’t be a RiverClan cat their to know how to save him. Don’t get me wrong, I’d have been just fine if Tigerstar died, but think of how different the books would be without him. Shadowsight wouldn’t exist, which means Bramblestar wouldn’t have been possessed, which means we might never have found out who was blocking the Moonpool in StarClan, and also StarClan might still not have been able to communicate with the Clans, which means Frostpaw would have been none the wiser to Splashtail’s evil pans, which means… okay, okay, okay, enough, enough, enough. My point is, Petalfur saved StarClan. Indirectly, but she did. Bro that could’ve probably made a whole article on its own😂
Now for the whole Mothwing situation. Although it wasn’t a nice thing to force Mothwing out of being a medicine cat because she didn’t believe in StarClan. But I do think it’s great that she realized in the end that she was wrong, and did her best to make up for it.
In TBC, although she had a lapse in judgment here as well, she made up for it by going into the DF to help defeat Ashfur.
In the end, she died a arguing for what was right. Literally. She dropped dead while bravely standing up to her clanmates, who were unfairly questioning her about the rightful changes to the Warrior Code.
