Defending unpopular characters pt. 1: Millie by Fallowpaw

Fallowpaw defends Millie.

Hi! Today, I’ll be sharing with you all why I think Millie doesn’t deserve hate and is a good character! Let’s start!

So the main reason she is hated is because she gave Briarlight the most attention out of her kits and yelled at Blossomfall, and some people also don’t like her because she replaced Silverstream.

The latter is very easy for me to defend her from, so let’s begin with that.

This was fully Graystripe’s choice, Millie never even knew Silverstream.
Graystripe was clearly ready to take a new mate, and it is unfair to blame Millie for a choice Graystripe made.
He’s the one who replaced Silverstream for Millie, not she.
And also, Silverstream approved of that decision and just wanted Graystripe to be happy again.
So you can’t blame Millie for becoming his mate.

Now, disproving the second argument will take me some more time, so I’ll do that now.

I think Millie giving Briarlight extra attention was a logical decision.
Of course if one of your children’s SPINE IS LITERALLY CRUSHED you will do that.
If she didn’t, then she’d be a bad mother.
Also, we can’t forget how traumatic it must be to see your daughter getting injured so severely, and knowing she’ll never be able to recover, so we shouldn’t be too hard on her.
It was such a devastating time for her, so blaming her for overreacting is really not fair in my opinion.
We should always try to imagine what we’d do if we were them before judging a character.
And yes, she yelled at Blossomfall, which was a bad thing to do, but does one mistake make you a bad person? No.
If you think about it, you have to admit that you’ve been angry at someone when you shouldn’t at least once in your life, right?
So why do we judge Millie for something we have all done?
No one is perfect, and I know it’s sometimes hard to realise, but if you think of Warriors as real-life people, you’ll see we hate them way too quickly.
Also, if she never did anything wrong, we’d call her a stupid Mary Sue, so you have to accept that she has flaws because you know you’d hate her when she didn’t and was all pretty and amazing.

So yeah, that’s why I believe Millie shouldn’t get hate! Please remember this isn’t meant to offend anyone and I’m just sharing my opinion!
