[a simple full-body design of Twigbranch smiling]
Hi y’all, it’s Mizzie, back with her 8th article! (dang that’s a lot) Today I will shine the spotlight on Twigbranch, one of the most (in my opinion) underrated and hated characters in the Warriors series, and defend her. So, without further ado, lets get into it!
I think the main reason people don’t like her is that they think she’s spoiled and arrogant, because she got a better life than Violetshine. I’m not going to lie, and say that her life was just as hard as Violetshine’s. Because it wasn’t. But that’s NOT HER FAULT. When ShadowClan chose Violetkit to take, Twigkit couldn’t have done anything about it! Twigkit had no idea that ShadowClan would be a bad clan to grow up in. And even if she did, expecting a kit to take her sister’s place seems kinda dumb to me. It wasn’t unreasonable that Twigkit didn’t volunteer to go to ShadowClan. Plus, Rowanstar had already chosen Violetkit, and the odds of him changing his mind was rare.
People also don’t like Twigbranch because they think she’s spoiled. This comes from the fact that she basically had two foster mothers (Lilyheart and Ivypool), while Violetshine had almost no one she was close to, but Twigbranch still wanted real parents. Once again, Twigbranch had no way of knowing that Violetshine didn’t have friends. It wasn’t Twigbranch’s fault that Violetshine had no friends, or that ShadowClan was bad. And even if she did know, Twigbranch can still want stuff, even if she has more of it than someone else. Plus, wanting to have real parents is a completely reasonable thing to want. While she might’ve had good, similar to motherly relationships with other cats in her clan, none of them were her real mother. They couldn’t give her the exact same relationship/bond that they could if they were her actual mother. Twigbranch just wanted to have a blood-related parent. She just wanted some real kin. Is that such a bad thing to want? No, it’s not.
Lastly, people don’t like her because of her whole clan-switching drama. I don’t really think she did anything wrong. She left ThunderClan because she wanted to be with her kin. She thought she would have fun in SkyClan. But she didn’t. It wasn’t the place for her. So she left. I know she left right after her warrior ceremony, but still. That’s not a reason to hate her. Indecisiveness isn’t a reason to hate a cat. And it’s not her fault that she didn’t fit in it SkyClan. She missed ThunderClan. It was where she had been raised, and she loved the cats there. It’s not her fault that she liked ThunderClan more than SkyClan. It’s not a bad thing.
So yeah, that pretty much wraps up my defending of Twigbranch, I hope this changed, or swayed some opinions on her, and that you enjoyed reading! Mizzie out!
I’m pretty neutral on Twigbranch but I hate her warrior suffix lol
This is a great article Mizzie!
