For the next few days, there’s going to be a poetry contest here! The poem will have to be about a warriors character- you can chose anyone you like! But make sure not to mention the cat in the poem. It’ll be sort of a “guess who I am” rhyme, where you can talk about the cat’s appearance, story, family, love, dreams, hopes- anything, get creative! 😀 At the end of the contest, we can try to guess the cat the poem was about. The poems will be judged based on different factors, I’ll talk about those more soon.
Anyone can enter, even if you think you’re bad at poetry!

The enemy of stars
The apprentice of the night

Blood made out of Deepest Love
I have lived alone
my whole life.
My only friend
Was another one of my own.
I have lived alone
Until the Clan cats came
Ripping flesh from bone
Killing without shame.
There was nothing else
Around me
That felt so safe.
So I went with
ShadowClan
filled with only glee.
Oh, I felt so free.
They gave me a new name
And as fast as I came
I climbed
and became a warrior.
Feeling blood between my teeth
I will always be brave
No matter what it takes
And my Clan is the only thing
I shall ever save.
I swore to the Warrior’s code
that when there was ever blood that flowed
I would know what to do

My 3rd and last poem:
Flying Misfit
Call me a chipmunk
An apprentice mistake
Call me a misfit
(My grandfather’s named Jake.)
Brambles and dust
Tried to tame me
But that is as hard
as drinking the sea.
Speaking of the ocean
I once went to Midnight
and her little sea cliff.
She brought us so much light.
But isn’t that way too mushy
and heroically weird
Let’s rather talk about the time
When my ginger fur first appeared.
My sister and I
were born to the sand.
But while my sister went to follow the path
of a medicine cat
I decided to become a warrior grand.
Naturally, that was hard
Especially
for a flying misfit
(like me.)
But soon I earned my suffix
It was nothing but a rank
But even as a warrior
I played prank after prank.
Call me a hero
The cat who saved cats
But deep inside
I’m still the misfit I once was.
(And then Brambleclaw obviously said “Rats!”)

Once a warrior, but never again.
What should I do? I must think, then.
Of all the things to do I must get my revenge
And I have cats in mind who I want to avenge.
When I think of him – it’s more than angry.
The one who heals destroyed me.
He’s a shadow, black as night,
Who began my endless blight.
If he’s a shadow, I can be more.
I follow him until I see moonlight pour.
To his death, he is bound,
And soon his body lies on the ground.
He’s for the birds. I continue on.
Soon everyone who wronged me will be gone.
I can’t keep myself from being outlived,
But I can make her wish she’d never lived.
The next one’s quick. I depart to cries.
The venom will carry her to shadowed skies,
Or starry ones. I can’t tell,
But I certainly do not wish her well.
The last one caused a lot of pain –
I shake it off. I can’t go through this again.
If my mind won’t stop replaying my sin,
I’ll give myself up to the shadows within.

Tiger prowls
just waiting to strike

it storms, it rains
you must get away
you must leave your home
leave Fire, leave Grey
out of the forest
the rain hides your tears
and find yourself safely
away from your fears
a wintery night,
rogues in the dark
a she cat births kits
warming your heart
your mate doesn’t trust them

the kits, rogues and barn cats
live in the hay
they finally leave
but now you’re full of doubt
do i really belong here

that night, terror strikes
