Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this year’s gift exchange! As always, your creations were absolutely wonderful and you never fail to blow me away with your talent and creativity! To find your name in...
Okay, so this post is a little later than what I would’ve wanted, but I’ve had a busy week 😛 I’m also a little tired, so, only one cat pic this time 😛 You’re getting plenty from Cadvent, anyway...
The seventh edition of the Blog Monthly is here – written by Lil, fresh off the printing press Hello, everyone!! The Blog Monthly is back and better than ever! I hope you all love this edition, in my opinion it is one...
Honeyjade gives warrior names and Warrior Cats match-ups to more characters from Survivors.
YAHAHAHA! I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER! Claimed for nothing.
Icy you are a . . . CONTENDER!!!
Ooh, okay! 😀
Ten questions (post your answers here, not on the main page. 😀 )
1. What’s your ideal date? (You can answer this questions in Warriors cats terms and/or real life ^^)
2. What’s your favorite television show?
3. What’s your favorite Warriors pairing? (Doesn’t need to be canon.)
4. Would you rather be blind, deaf, or mute?
5. If you could actually sell your soul, what would you sell it for?
6. If you were granted three wishes from a genie, what would your wishes be?
7. If you could domesticate any animal in the world to be your pet, what would it be?
8. What’s your favorite superhero?
9. Are you wearing socks? Do you often wear socks?
10. If you had to dye your hair an abstract color (red, orange, yellow green, blue, etc.), which would you choose?
1. Huh, I’d never really thought of this much 😛 I guess anything to do with nature, really. A walk along the beach, a hike in the forest, maybe a nice horseback ride. Movies are also nice 😉
2. Any kind of comedy or medical drama, but it’s a three way tie between Saving Hope, The Middle and The Big Bang Theory.
3. BrackenxSorrel!
4. This is a really hard question! I love art, so I wouldn’t want to be blind, and I love listening to music, and I love playing instruments, so I wouldn’t want to be deaf, but my real passion is singing, so I certainly wouldn’t want to be mute, so I would have to go with blind.
5. Goodness, you’re nailing the hard questions 😛 I would say that, if I had to sell my soul, I’d sell it for the safety of the rest of the world. (And maybe a kitten 😉 )
6. 1. For my family to be healthy and comfortable for the rest of their lives. 2. The ability to help others better. 3. Can I get more wishes? No? 😛 I don’t know, really. Maybe to live in a better, safer place?
7. Well, I adore foxes, so maybe foxes, but they can be domesticated, so I would say a cheetah or a panda 😛
8. Why, Kate Cary, of course 😉 (Does that count? If not, Batman 😛 )
9. I’m not wearing socks right now, no. I wear socks when it’s too cold outside to wear sandals/flip flops.
10. I actually am dying my hair in the next week or so, and I’d have to go with blue or purple, but I would also do green too 😀
This was really fun!
Thank you for answering these so fast, Icy!!! 😀 I’ll post them on the main page (without giving away your name 😉 ) whenever the other person with identical questions answers theirs too!
Claimed!
Hello 😉
Hiya 😀 Sorry I took so long to reply, my computer died 😛 Anyway, here’s what I have for the roleplay:
About half of a concept 😉
7-9 secret pages (including this one)
An antagonist or two
A setting and genre (probably)
A set of “powers”
A bunch of scattered world-building
And an interesting mechanic!
The setting I came up with is basically a cross between Portal 2 / Stray. Essentially, Humans have been replaced by robots and the world has fallen apart. Cats are struggling to survive, and a sadistic AI with full control over a sprawling underground facility sees them as valuable test subjects. She captures them at random and is even capable of “Restarting” dead cats by fusing their souls into a special type of cat-like android called a simulacrum.
It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but I think it could be fun! What do you think? Is there something you’d like to take out or put in? Maybe a completely different setting altogether? Please let me know 😀
Yeah sounds good!! 😀
I’d love to help if you are still making it
Sure thing! My family is going to the lake for a day, so I won’t be able to do anything until late Friday 😉 See ya later!
Sorry! I was gone for a little longer than I anticipated 😛 Anyway, I figured I should ask you guys what you want to see in a roleplay “test”, or in this case, “test chamber”. For example, I tend to enjoy player verses player more than player verses environment, and would like to have a chamber where several teams of three battle each other while sections of the floor fall away. What do you like to do in tests? 😀
Yeah that sounds fun! I also think it would be cool to pair up opposite personalities or enemies that do tasks together, stuff like that. 😀 And maybe in the last test everyone fights each other? 😛
Ooh, that’d cause a lot of cool situations and force / encourage character development 😀 I love it! As for the fight, how does a battle between the still alive cats (really need a better term for them XD) and the simulacrum (temporarily under the antagonist’s control) sound as an event that happens near the end?
Side note: I may have discovered a way to create personalized secret pages, so that part shouldn’t be an issue 😉
Yesss epic awesome fight 😉
Yessss! That’ll definitely happen 😉
Here’s an idea I’ve had for a while now: The first couple tests will be player verses environment to introduce specific elements that will reappear in the other tests, but everything after those two will likely be focused on player verses player. Because of that focus, it would be anti-climactic if no cats died, but I also don’t want to kill anyone’s character unless their creator wants to. To counter that issue, when a cat dies, they always have the option to come back as a simulacrum. Alternatively, they could choose to be severely injured, or “blocked”, instead. In this state, other players would be advised against attacking them, as the near-dead cat would only be able to drag themselves around until someone helped them or the test came to certain spot. If a cat wanted to revive a blocked cat, they’d have to approach them and start the healing process. This process could be stopped and resumed at any time, but would take a little bit to complete, leaving both cats venerable to attacks. Of course, they could just die like normal, but only if they wanted to. I’m hoping this might make people more comfortable with throwing their characters into fights and getting into danger, while still providing some amount of tension 😀 What do you think? Is it too easy to avoid death? Is that okay?
It sounds great! 😀
Awesome! 😀
Sorry I’ve been so quiet for so long, school is getting rather overwhelming 🙁 The idea hasn’t died, I still want to do it, but it might be a while before I get around to actually making it because of the menace to my free time that is U.S. History 🙂
My name and signature show my excitement for this rp, (The antagonist is called RAVEn, and the roleplay’s name is “To Ashes”) and I think about it all the time, so I’m not going to let anything stop it 😛 I’ll come back here when I’m all caught up with school, so hopefully real soon 😀
See you then!
Okay! I have more thoughts about this roleplay (sounds great!) but I can’t formulate them into words 😛 see you then! And good luck in history 😉
Thanks! That’s great to hear 😀 I’m almost caught up, so I’ve been making some secret pages for it! They take about a week to create, but they’re super easy and don’t require a huge time commitment, so I can do them on the side until I’m caught up! I’ll let you know when I’m ready to start building the roleplay 😉 It shouldn’t be too much longer now 😀
Sorry I’m taking so long 😛 Thanks for waiting 🙂
Np! Anything for a murder roleplay 😉
I’ll be ready to start on Wednesday! 😀
Alright! I’m still a little busy, but I can’t put this off any longer 😛
Anyway, I’m super excited to start planning out this roleplay!! Behind the scenes I’ve been thinking over some of the harder questions I’ve had about the potential plot and gameplay, and have created about 9 secret pages to match the setting of the rp! I’ve also considered the Test Chambers and powers system, and I think I’m at a spot where I feel comfortable sharing them!!! Here’s some of my favorite ideas 😀
1: A set of abilities allowing the user to create fake copies of themselves, as well as granting them situational invisibility.
2: An electric field called “The Grid” that forces cats to a specific area. (usually towards unfriendly cats 🙂 )
3a: A “Sanity Level” for simulacrum that reflects their “humanity” (or whatever the cat equivalent for humanity is 😛 ) and how advanced their powers are.
3b: A similar thing for living cats that just determines how advanced their powers are. (Both could be leveled up like the Tests, but will probably have another way in addition 😉 )
4: Status effects, which will sometimes trigger depending on the location, enemy, ability set, etc. These will hopefully help raise the stakes of a battle, especially against non-player enemies.
5: Powers that are exclusive to simulacrum, but decrease the user’s sanity (they can also just use normal powers if they want 😉 ) and can even change their personality.
6: The Wraith. A mysterious figure that seems to help you… For a cost…
7: The Voidwalker ability, which, when available, allows the user to blip out of reality for a moment, allowing them to evade attacks and reposition as needed.
And last but not least, 8: The plot. While I don’t have too much of it nailed down, I’m planning some story events that can be directly influenced by the players!! I’ll let you know how that goes 😛
Other than that, I have a rough idea of what the beginning will be like, and a small amount of backstory leading up to the start of the roleplay! Everything can be changed or removed as needed, and I’m defiantly open for suggestions! Please, let me know what you think! 😀
They sound great! Especially sanity level 😀 perhaps some have a chance to see spirits or gain a power if they perform a certain task, or get a wish granted? You’ve already made it pretty epic as is, so I don’t have many suggestions :)) 😉
Thanks!! 😀 That means a lot to me! I hadn’t thought about granting wishes or seeing spirits before, and I could definitely see where to implement them! Gaining extra abilities sounds cool to, I’ll just have to make sure it’s balanced 😉
Seriously, thank you!! 🙂 Your ideas and enthusiasm continue to keep me excited for this roleplay. I even found the motivation to edit and draw on an image (something I’ve never done before) for the contents page! (Which is here: https://blogclan.katecary.co.uk/Ashen/ 😉 ) Without you, I probably wouldn’t have made it this far, so, again, thank you, Frostfire 😀
Whoa, you drew that? It looks great! :)) And thank you! But I think you, as the one who has tirelessly come up with ideas and secret pages, deserve some credit 😉
Thank you!! Though, most of the image was drawn by someone else 🙂 I’m excited 😀 I actually made a considerable amount of progress this week! I even posted the main links on the contents page, something I never thought I’d do! After two years of “what if” scenarios, this roleplay is finally becoming a reality, and for that, I can’t thank you enough 😀 This week, my goal is to post the initial comments for some of the other pages, and to sort out what the world is like in 2056 😉 Until then, here’s a sort of teaser thing I made a while back for the antagonist, RAVEn! No one saw it, but I thought it was interesting 😛
Ooh :))
Alright!! It’s not ready yet, but I have all of the secret pages I will need and a very solid understanding of the overall plot and gameplay 😀 Ashen should be ready by the end of the year 🙂
Great! :))

Hey, it works now!!
I’m getting closer and closer to having enough braincells to actually finalize some things 😀
The intro story for Ashen-
Crimson Cloud
The sun was red.
A beautiful evening sky bathed the world in a gentle, blood-tinted light, casting a menacing aura through the twisting depths of the vast cybercity of Mementos. It accented the neon signs advertising the hundreds of small businesses, creating an even harsher glow than was usual in the world’s capital. It was undeniable, there was an air of wrongness to the crimson light, and yet no one seemed to pay much attention to the phenomenon. The humans were occupied with whatever business they had to attend to, and the many automatons scattered throughout the metropolis were not programmed for such an event as this. An air of indifference contrasted the impending doom illustrated in the sky, and for a time, it seemed like nothing would happen regarding the sinister sun.
But something did happen. It started when the local weatherbot frantically halted it’s interview with Mars colony Corvus to report a severe sandstorm approaching the area. This sparked some confusion. Sandstorms were only ever a problem in the desert-like Outlands, hundreds of miles away from any civilization! How could one possibly travel so far, and through so many barriers and regulators?
Inevitably, the answer came. It was sudden; no one had time to prepare, or any idea what to prepare for. Reporters were still trying to decide if the weatherbot’s forecast had been a malfunction or not when hundreds of strange, tiny red particles began to descend from the sky. They seemed harmless, at first, like bloodied flower petals drifting into the darkened heart of Mementos, but then more fell, and it seemed more like a heavy, harsh snow. More fell, then even more. Yet more still fell, and after that, more and more, until the population of the Earth’s grand capital was swept away in a sea of crimson as a hurricane of red particles tore through the planet, obscuring everything in a red haze.
The human’s sounds of fear were blocked out by a violent buzzing sound, which washed over the audio receptors of the automatons. This, combined with the sea of crimson obscuring their vision, made the robotic beings completely unaware of the tragedy unfolding before them. Red particles rampaged through the streets, washing over buildings and even passing through them. Nothing was outside it’s reach. Nothing would stop it from achieving its objective. Nothing could get in it’s way.
The Crimson Cloud lingered for an agonizing seven hours; seven hours of pure, violent, crimson cacophony. Then, little by little, particle by particle, the buzzing started to fade, and the storm of red began to depart, revealing the Cloud’s effect on the planet. When the red curtain lifted, few signs of life remained in Mementos. Hundreds of robotic beings drifted about aimlessly, each with differing, dwindling purposes. There may have been many of them, but scattered across so much space, it felt empty; wrong, even, like they weren’t meant to inhabit so much space alone.
Aside from the robots, a scattering of mice, rats and other small creatures still scurried through the alleyways, searching for edible scraps of whatever they could find, but their existence was largely inconsequential. Some small dogs still lived in shelters and houses, but they were few, and it was likely they would die out in a few decades if they didn’t learn how to survive. Most notably, all traces of the human species had vanished; even their vehicles and possessions had disappeared. Nothing was left. No creature had been spared, and with the lack of capable, living beings anywhere on Earth, the world was doomed to fade away in the memory processors of the numerous, soulless machines who were left to inhabit it.
Motion; not mechanized. Slow, uncertain, careful steps. Deafening silence. More steps; faster now, more certain. There were sounds of something scuffling against glass. Movement; mechanized. A door opened. A series of cheerful beeping sounds greeted the living creature. In an abandoned animal shelter, a single house cat crouched, hard at work to free the rest of its kind from their cages, aided by a light blue weatherbot with a newfound purpose.
Sorry sorry sorry I’ve been really busy but loving it!! 😀
That’s okay, I’ve been pretty busy too 🙂 I only got this done because I needed to write a short story for school, and I only got the school assignment done because it was about this 😛 That said, I’m aiming to release Ashen on One More Chance’s first anniversary (March 30) so I’m super excited for that!! 😀
I’m excited! Also been busy the past few weeks with school but I’m going to try to get on the blog more 😀
That sounds great! Good luck with school 🙂 I’m going to experiment with ideas for a week or so, then I’ll start nailing things down!
See you then 😀
Thank you! Surprisingly, my easiest class is French, which wouldn’t seem it because it’s a foreign language 😛 I forgot to say, but I read your thing when you posted it on the fanfic page and it was really good!! I promise I’m excited I’m just bad at expressing emotions non-awkwardly 😛
Also, Maple is starting Tests 4 on Discord, so if you have that, dm me @Frostfire#3469 and I’ll send you the invite :))
Just made an account! I guess I’ve got One More Chance to be less awkward than I was in the original Tests 😛
Also, I’m glad that you’re doing well in French! I heard that it was crushingly difficult for some people, so it’s nice that that didn’t happen to you 😀 Classes are more fun when they aren’t super tedious! :))
Also also, I am also
alsobad at expressing emotion without being awkward 😛 but I’m glad you liked Crimson Cloud! I think I might have to write something else that is more relevant to the immediate plot, though, and then include CC somewhere else for people who want even more info than there already is 😛About Tests 4… It’s sort of weird that the original reason Ashen started is… Gone, now. It feels sort of… Dysphoric. I’m too motivated to really care, but, it threw me for a loop when I saw the wiki announcement.
Anyway, more stuff is now happening in March- it’s like… Too much stuff 😛 Finishing Ashen was daunting enough yesterday, and now I’m suddenly even more busy :O
Well, time to fail at social communication in yet another one of Maple’s roleplays, featuring an app that I’ve had for three hours!!
Let’s go!! 😀
Yeah a Tests 4 is definitely weird 😛 but I’m looking forward too it! Just realized I have to send you the invite and you won’t magically be able to join so doing that now 😛
I am now very excited, and no longer dysphoric :)) This is going to be great!!
I am currently making a Discord server for Ashen, and will use it for the roleplay if Tests 4 works better than it did on the blog 🙂 I can send you an invite to it if you want 😀
we don’t want any links on the blog,,, send it through discord? 😛
That’s the plan 🙂
