Note: I’m nearly finished with the 3rd chapter of the BlogClan Talent Show and I’m working on my other warriors fanfic too.
Part One:
“Laurie! Wake up!” a distant voice echoed inside Lauren’s head. Lauren slowly opened her eyes, squinting in the warm sunlight. “Wake up!” the voice was more clearer and Lauren could recognise it now. “Geez, okay okay,” Lauren grumbled, “I’m getting up!” Lauren yawned loudly, then sat up on her bed. Lauren’s brother, Victor was standing next to her, wearing a blue hoodie with black ripped up jeans. “You’d better hurry,” Victor told her, “School’s starting in 30 minutes.” “Ugh, school,” Lauren groaned, as Victor walked away. “Better get ready,” she thought, “Lucy will be waiting for me.” She got up from her bed and opened the soft velvety baby blue curtains next to her bed. A stream of sunlight rippled on the surface of her bed as she tidied the blankets. Then she headed to the bathroom and got ready for school. “Hmmm, what should I wear?” Lauren frowned as she looked at the options. “This white shirt matches my headband, but this pink shirt looks pretty.” “Laurie, breakfast is ready!” mom called from the kitchen. “Crap,” she thought, as she donned on the white shirt she was holding, slipped into a pair of denim shorts and put on a red and black checked shirt as she scampered down the stairs.
“Morning mom!” she called as she plonked down on the dining chair. “Good morning sweetie,” mom replied, setting down a plate of pancakes topped with syrup, “Sit down and eat your breakfast.” “Thanks mom!” Lauren grinned, grabbing a fork and gobbling down the fluffy pancakes. “Yum,” Lauren said, licking her lips as she finished the last of her breakfast. “You’d better go to school now,” mom said, “Your brother already left a few minutes ago.” “Okay,” Lauren replied, wiping her mouth. “I’ll just grab my bag and I’ll be on my way.” “Bye honey!” mom called, “Have fun at school!” “Bye mom!” Lauren replied, pushing open the front door. At once, a gush of hot, sticky wind hit her as Lauren stepped outside. “Ugh!” she grunted, squinting her eyes as she walked through a tall white fence out to the sidewalk. “Laurie!” a voice cried suddenly. Lauren jumped in surprise, then calmed down as she recognised who it was. “Lucy!” she grinned, running up to the direction of the voice. “Where were you?” Lucy crossed her arms as they started walking, “I was waiting for you for ages!” “I overslept again,” Lauren confessed. “Well don’t do it again,” Lucy pouted, “It’s so hot outside!” “Hmmm,” Lauren looked thoughtful, “I can’t make any promises, so no.” “Well then. Next time I won’t wait for you!” Lucy sniped back. Lauren laughed, walking faster, “I know you’re too scared to go alone, Lucy.” “Hey! That’s not true!” Lucy said crossly. “Yes it is,” Lauren said teasingly, “So… ahhhhhhhh!” Lauren suddenly stopped talking as she bumped into a random stranger. They both fell over the hard cement. “Ow”, Lauren whimpered. “Hey!” the stranger said angrily, pushing her off them, “What do you think you’re doing?”
