[Jayfeather looks at the viewer on a blurry background]
Hi Clanmates! This is my first article so it might be a bit cringy and stuff but anyways, let’s get to the point. In this article I’ll be showing you how Jay isn’t the cat you thought he was. This is long so I think I’ll add a short summary at the end for those who cant wait long. Let’s begin!
(This had spoilers for OoTS, TBC and PoT!)
GRUMPINESS
This simply explains the whole Jayfeather thing, right…? Well, not exactly. Here’s the point, his bad attitude comes from his treatment, like anyone, if they got treated differently because of a disability that just seems normal for them. So it’s sort of a “these people have to keep looking after me more often and I don’t want help so I’m going to do something about it” situation. But it’s not only that, but Jayfeather never got any real warrior training. So he did the easiest thing possible. He disguised his emotions with anger and frustration.
THE PROPHECY
if you have read Omen of The Stars or Power of Three, you must know how much Jayfeather cares about the Prophecy. And it takes up everything on his mind… But it’s also frustrating. Always.
LEAFPOOL, HOLLYLEAF, OTHER RELATIVES DEATHS
Jayfeather and Lionblaze are (seriously?? >:/) not very sad when Hollyleaf dies but very sad when they ‘thought’ she dies….. What?? But when Leafpool – Jayfeather’s Mother and Mentor – dies, at least Lionblaze has Cinderheart and their kits. Jayfeather has nobody but Alderheart who he can’t trust enough to release his emotions. But luckily Alder helped him get over it.
SHORT SUMMARY
Jayfeather is a blind cat who hides his emotions so that no cat can treat him differently, but other than that, things like the Prophecy still hang around in his mind which make him frustrated. And Leafpool and Hollyleaf dying left a huge gap like the half of Brightheart’s face snapped off by dogs, which is really bad, I know. Most people see him as an angry and unreasonable cat, but inside, Jayfeather is just a mixture of vulnerability, anxiety, responsibility and loneliness.
That’s it for the article! I wish you have a good day or night. Bye!
(P.s, please don’t cut off :(( )
pawsome article! Jayfeather is one of my favorites :DD
I agree! Great article!
Great article! I’m neutral on Jayfeather 🙂
Amazing article! I loved it and I agree!
Nice article, I don’t agree with it though Jay is one of my fave characters and your thoughts don’t really make sense.
I think they do make sense
Jayfeather has always been my favorite cat but this just opened up my mind even more about him he does kinda act like that if you think about it and if you read the first book of the power of 3 then you will know how much he says he hates being treated like a kit and such! But anyway great article!
His treatment does not make it okay for him to lash out and be mean to other cats, mainly Brightheart. His blindness does not make it anywhere NEAR okay to treat other cats bad, he is a grown cat, he should be able to handle his own feelings and not last out to othersz they haven’t done anything to him. His attitude as an apprentice was AWFUL, it was annoying and GRAH to read.
Great article anyways, even though I can’t really understand what you mean.
I mean some people, or cats, are just stubborn and sarcastic. I know I am. So is my brother and sister. So personally, i can relate to Jayfeather a lot.
Its fine if u dont like him tho :P.
JAYFEATHER RULEZ FOREVER!!!!!!!!1 and Alderhearts pretty cool to 😛 BUT MOSTLY JAYBAE-I MEAN JAYFEATHER :p :p :p :p
Amazing article! I love it!
Hi! Your article was a bit confusing though I think I got the main points. Not really sure if this person is active but if they are, any chance you would be willing to let me do a rebuttal? Thanks!
AGREED!
Poor lil Jayfeather
. It makes me happy to see how finally people realize what Jay is really like inside, not like he’s just grumpy for no good reason. Really love your article 🙂
