Hello, BlogClan! Spiritflight greeting you here, today! I am with Coralpaw/wave and we are going to be talking about bad ships that we think are bad. Of course, these are just opinions and some will love the ship and some won’t. Feel free to pitch in your on ops! Hi, Valz! How are you feeling about this article today?

Coralpaw:
I’m feeling very excited! I’m very curious to know what some of your opinions are, and if we will share many of the same opinions or none at all 😀So how about you start, Spiri! What ship that you feel is overrated?

Spiritflight:
I’m going to start with GraystripeXMillie. I love Graystripe and don’t think he deserved Millie, a character I am very much not fond of. He deserved a cat much better, just like Silverstream, who could have treated him better. Sure, she treated him fairly, but Millie herself IS the main problem here. At most points, she was arrogant and hostile to clanmates and cats who tried to help her, not to mention how mean she can be to her own children, especially Blossomfall who had gotten yelled at when she had been hurt. I do blame Graystripe slightly for some of this, because he didn’t do much about it. I’d also like to point out how lazy Millie is. I’m not saying she is terrible, and I’m not just here to casually accuse her and point out all the negative, but though one of the only good things about this ship and her is that I truly believe they loved each other, and she was kind at some periods of time I will admit. What is your view on this ship, Val?

Coralpaw:
I never really thought about it, but now that I am, I don’t like them that much either! I love Graystripe, but Millie is a big no. While I still liked Graystripe, I liked him a lot less after his relationship with Millie. Just, why?

The ship that I think is much too overrated is SandXFire. There is some sweetness there, and I completely understand if you like this ship, but I want to talk about when they were apprentices. From the very start of Into The Wild, Firepaw’s group hated her and Dustpaw, and they felt the same way. Then, as time goes on, Sandstorm just suddenly starts falling for him. It’s just too much too soon. I know that a big part of this ship happens while they are restoring SkyClan, and I haven’t read any of those books, so maybe when I do I will like them more. But from what I know, this ship leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Now, when we look into the big picture, I do not want Firstar to end up with Spottedleaf. And that’s coming from the person with a whole fanfic about a cat who mates with a StarClan cat. SpottedXFire is worse, but that is not underrated. Also, if Firestar wasn’t mates with Sandstorm, then Squirrelflight and Leafpool wouldn’t exist! I feel like SandXFire could be a good ship, like, a bully falling in love with a victim, good ages, all that…but their chemistry is super messed up. Like, seriously Erin’s? Alas, that’s just my opinion, and I get it if you like this ship. Hey, I used to too! What’s your opinion on this ship, Spiri?

Spiritflight:
Agh, the good ol’ popular SandXFire. I used to not like it very much, to be honest. It wasn’t my favorite. But it is certainly better than FireXSpotted, that much I can say. Sandstorm started out as a bully, yeah. She didn’t like Fireheart or believe he had a place in ThunderClan due to his kittypet status. He mostly disregarded her at this point. We don’t see many of their on-page interactions in the books, either. But then something changes in Fire and Ice when Fireheart saves Sandpaw’s life. Perhaps she realized she owed him her life or something stirred inside her. When Dustpaw constantly teases him, she stops joining in.
And I think calmly of this. It shows that she’s slightly changing and beginning to think of Fireheart in a different way. In this book, she becomes much friendlier to him, with kind words shared and that whole cute scene in the snow.
By Rising Storm, it’s clear that Sandstorm likes him, and Fireheart begins to feel the same way. It’s not a ship I love, but not one I hate, either. I’m mutual on it.

I’d like to talk about Sleekwhisker and Darktail. In my opinion, a terrible ship! For all we know, Darktail doesn’t even have a love interest. But it isn’t just terrible, it is a bit weird too. For one they’re both evil, and that isn’t a problem, it would be cool to have more ships in the fandom world where two villains fall in love. But Sleekwhisker acted more of a suck up, trying to get his undivided attention and acting as though ‘We’re both evil, so we should be together.’. It would be better if she was more of the type who looked up to him, like an inspiration, instead of a bad girl trying to get the bad boy’s love. What is your view, Valz?

Coralpaw:
…I don’t remember if I even read that book 😭But given what you said about this ship, I don’t think it would have been a favorite.

The ship I’d like to talk about now is Whitestorm and Brindleface. Okay, I know it’s not a commonly shipped ship, because it’s not commonly discussed… but I think I’d like to address it. 🙂 So most cats in Warriors only have one mate…but Whitestorm doesn’t. As well as fathering Brindleface’s kits, he also fathered Willowpelt’s. Also, I don’t remember what this means… but on Whitestorm’s wiki page, IT SAYS THAT FROSTFUR AND BRINDLEFACE WHERE IS FOSTER SISTERS!!! Help!!!! 😭I feel like they didn’t really have anything to do with each other throughout they’re relationship (before she died) and even though it’s not a strong opinion, it’s definitely not one that I like… at all. What do you think, Spiri?

Spiritflight: Uhm, I love my dude Whitestorm, one of my favourite characters…but he just be going and mating with his two FOSTER sisters? I’m sorry…what? Haha, I don’t know, that was just funny. Anyway, I don’t get this ship a whole lot, and like you said, I don’t ship them at all because, well, it’s not common, and I honestly never really heard much about it until you brought it up. I don’t really have much more opinions on this. If you ship them, great for you, if you don’t, join the club >_<

Anyway, due to Val AND my procrastination, this article took months to complete, and I feel as though this isn’t the end of procrastinating, so let’s end it here and get this submitted! Thank you Coralpaw for doing this with me, it was great to see your view on things!
