The seventh edition of the Blog Monthly is here – written by Lil, fresh off the printing press Hello, everyone!! The Blog Monthly is back and better than ever! I hope you all love this edition, in my opinion it is one...
Fallowpaw defends Appledusk.
Bristleflight shares their thoughts on their favourite character.
(we can also pretend we did an assessment and make Oceanpaw and Finpaw warriors now. His warrior name is Finbite)
Jaywing looked at Finpaw and Lionbark eating together and smiled.
“Soon they’ll be together more often when they’re both warriors.” He muttered and started grooming himself.
(Oops new page lol)
Storkclaw the elder sighed and padded over to the warrior. “Youth, right. I remember in my day… *goes onto story about his day that no one is listening to*. And that was how we got the badger down from the tree. *sighs dramatically*”
Sure, didn’t see the comment. Since I called up Oceanpaw alone, once I make her a warrior, I’ll make you a warrior too.
Wolfstar trotted over to the Sand Rock, and, with a graceful leap, he landed on the rock and walked to the tip that hung over the camp. “All cats old enough to swim, gather underneath the Sand Rock for a Clan meeting!” Wolfstar called to the Clan. As the cats settled around the rock, Wolfstar scanned the cats on the ground underneath him, resting his eyes on one of them. “Oceanpaw, come forward.”
Oceanpaw trotted over to her leader, her tail raised as high as her chin, her eyes shining.
Wolfstar purred as Oceanpaw walked up to him, then continued with the ceremony. “I, Wolfstar, leader of SandClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.” Wolfstar looked up at the clear sky, then at Oceanpaw again. “Oceanpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”
“Yes!” She said.
Wolfstar nodded subtly upon Oceapaw’s response, then continued the ceremony, warrior name in mind. “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Oceanpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Oceanclaw. StarClan honors your bravery and intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SandClan.” Wolfstar then rested his muzzle on Oceanclaw’s head, then stood up. He began talking before Oceanclaw’s name began to echo around the camp, knowing one more apprentice was in wait for becoming a warrior. “Today, I have the pleasure of making not one, but two apprentices warriors. Finpaw, come forward.”
Oceanclaw purred quietly. Intelligence? I didn’t see THAT coming. But she was happy it did. And Oceanclaw? Yes! Fierce name like she liked it!
While waiting for Finpaw, Wolfstar looked down at Oceanclaw’s confused but happy face, and said, “Yes, you always knew what to do in battle, how to handle every situation. Having bravery without intelligence will lead to your death. So, it’s good you know.”
Oceanclaw tucked her ears in embarassment when she realized she had made her feelings clear. Am I THAT tranparent? “Thanks”, she murmured, smiling.
Finpaw sat beside Lionbark and his mentor and gave Oceanpaw a smile when her name was called.
Dunepaw walked over and nudged Finpaw. “You’re going to be a warrior too!”
Oceanpaw smiled back and smiled widely at Dunepaw. She couldn’t believe it! A WARRIOR!
“I know, I’m so excited!” He exclaimed in a whisper. Jaywing nudged Finpaw and he looked up to see Jaywing flick his ear to be quiet and Finpaw nodded.
Finpaw walked up with his head high and chest out. He sat in front and waited.
OMG! It’s happening! he thought excitedly waiting
Wolfstar repeated the ceremony for Finpaw, his voice loud enough to reach the ears of the kits in the nursery. “I, Wolfstar, leader of SandClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.” Wolfstar set his eyes on Finpaw before continuing. “Finpaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”
“I do.” He said trying hard to keep his excitement in.(Oceanclaw and Finpaw could be siblings if you want skye! It’d also make sense that we’re having our ceremony together to.)
(True! Thank you so much!!)
Oceanclaw smiled at her brother, her tail-tip twitching in excitment. I hope he gets a good name. Finchatter would be fitting. She thought. Just joking.
“Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Finpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Finbite. StarClan honors your skill in battle and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SandClan.” Wolfstar rested his muzzle on the new warrior’s head, as he did for Oceanclaw. Then, he stood up and started the chant. “Oceanclaw! Finbite!”
“Finbite!” Oceanclaw yowled happily, smiling as she heard her warrior name cheered by her Clanmates.
Finbite dipped his head after licking Wolfstars shoulder. He walked into the crowd of chanting warriors.
I can’t believe we’re warriors! Finally! Finbite seems so great! Finbite thought.
“Congratulations Finbite! Congrats Oceanclaw! Finbite Im not surprised you got -bite for a suffix or that Wolfstar said skill in battle. You are a great fighter.” Jaywing said and Lionbark playful swooped for Finbites ear and he dodged coming up with a wide smile and looked at Oceanclaw with the smile from eye to eye.
“Oceanclaw, Finbite!” Dunepaw yowled. He walked up to Finbite and Oceanclaw. “Congratulations! I’m going to miss you guys in the apprentices den”
“We’re going to miss you too.” Oceanclaw cuffed his ear affectionately. “So join us soon, will you?” She looked at her brother. “Lionbark is right. You’re an alright fighter.” She smiled.
“yeah become a warrior soon Dunepaw! We’ll really miss you.” Finbite purred.
(Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello! I realized I never tried to make some kin for Oceanclaw! So does anyone want to be like, sibling, father, mother? And who would like to have been her mentor? Thanks!)
Wolfstar was about to leap down from the Sandrock, but then he realized cats would need to be chosen for the gathering. “One last announcement, everyone!” He yowled to the chanting cats. As they quieted down, he continued. “I’ve decided to pick the cats to go to the gathering now. Lionbark, Jaywing, (other random warriors because there’s like no one in SandClan) will all go to the gathering, as well as Finbite and Oceanclaw as a little warrior gift. Oh, Finbite and Oceanclaw, you must sit in a silent vigil tonight, remember.” Wolfstar then ducked his head and went to go get some fresh-kill, leaving Finbite and Oceanclaw to bask in their new-warrior glory.
Oceanclaw purred. “The vigil! I forgot. Thanks Wolfstar!”
(can Dunepaw come also?)
Kinda late, but sure! Also, after the Gathering, do you want to have Dunepaw’s warrior ceremony, or is he too young? Sorry, I don’t know how old everyone is hehe.
There aren’t any other apprentices, so I’ll keep Dunepaw an apprentice for now.
Sure!
(The gathering begins at https://blogclan.katecary.co.uk/bluebellpaw)
Wolfstar padded into camp, still seething. He muttered curses under his breath as he emerged through the entrance. The cats in the camp stirred at the arrival of the cats who had gone to the Gathering. Pushing back his anger, he leaped onto the Sandrock. “This Gathering has not been the best. According to Swiftstar,” Wolfstar growled out the name, “there is a BreezeClan cat called Darkpelt who killed one of the BreezeClan cats. She escaped their camp, and now she is a threat to all of us!” The leader looked at all the cats around the rock sternly. “We must be on the lookout, otherwise, what happened to BreezeClan will happen to us as well.”
Oceanclaw bristled. “BreezeClan mouse-hearts!” She shouted. “If it wans’t for them, none of this would have happened!”
Finbite bristled, hissing.
Lionbark narrowed his eyes and growled quietly.
Jaywing sat calmly, keeping patient even though inside he was screaming and angry.
Wolfstar leaped down from the Sandrock, fur bristling. He flexed his claws as he padded to his den underneath the Sandrock. “Get some sleep, everybody. We’ll send out hunting parties at sunrise. Stay in camp for now, everyone. The tensions are high, and I don’t want anyone getting hurt.” Wolfstar said to everyone loudly. “Lionbark, please guard the entrance. Thank you.” Wolfstar finished and pushed through the vines that covered the entrance of his den and curled up on his moss-lined nest, feeling lonely and scared. ‘What is SandClan going to do now?’ He thought to himself, before falling into a light sleep.
(Oceanclaw and Finbite are supposed to guard for their vigils. Ima pretend you said them)
Finbite nodded and padded to the entrance keeping watch. Even while sleep threatened to pull him in he shook his head and tryed to stay awake.
Oceanclaw settled by her brother’s side, letting out a huge yawn and smiling at him, her ocean-blue eyes shining.
Finbite smiled back at his sister as tiredness edging his eyes. He yawned hating doing all nighters. He needed his sleep but he still kept watch and relaxed as the wind blew through his pelt and through bushes and trees. He heard an owl hoot in the distance as if a reminder to stay awake.
Oceanclaw gazed after the owl as its grayish wings flashed in the starry sky. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the breeze refresh her fur, and then opened them again, her gaze reflecting the stars above them like a sealine at deep night.
oops sorry about that hehe
Wolfstar opened a single eye, seeing the faint light of pre-dawn filter into the den. He stepped out, parting his jaws in a big yawn, enjoying the cool air only present right before dawn. Finbite and Oceanclaw were standing outside on a rise, almost asleep but fighting to stay awake. “Finbite! Oceanclaw! You can stop now. Go to your dens and get some rest. I’m proud of you for staying awake the entire night!” He shouted to the tired pair. Wolfstar then sat down on the soft, dew-covered grass, his tiredness melting away as he watched the pre-dawn sky fill with yellow as the sun rose, waiting for the day to start.
Oceanclaw yawned. “Sleep? Did someone say sleep?” She asked playfully, padding over. “Thanks, Wolfstar!” Then she rushed to the warriors den. “Our first rest in the warriors’ den!” She meowed to her brother.
