Amberpaw: Who deserved to lead WindClan after Tallstar died? DISCLAIMER: Spoilers for Winds of Change and the last book of TNP!

Amberpaw: I personally believe that Mudclaw deserved to lead WindClan. Tallstar assumed that Mudclaw would throw WindClan into chaos during a time when they wouldn’t be able to bear it, which is a valid concern. But Mudclaw had been seen caring for his clanmates in Winds of Change after all the forest Clans traveled to the lake, courtesy to Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Feathertail, Stormfur, Tawnypelt, and Crowfeather. Of course, when Firestar and the other leaders send out Brambleclaw, Mistyfoot, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, and Crowfeather (I think it was those cats, maybe some others), Mudclaw was anxious about how the clans would split the territory. That’s a great concern, especially since most Clan cats probably thought that at the same time. And Mudclaw interrogated Crowfeather when he got back about the territory, which is, again, a valid concern!

Amberpaw: Mudclaw wasn’t fond of ThunderClan, Firestar especially, because of their bonds with WindClan. Now, sure, some could see that as a bad trait in Mudclaw, since ThunderClan saved WindClan’s lives and everything, but to me, it’s perfectly fine! Mudclaw didn’t want the two clans getting too close, since he was afraid that Firestar was manipulating Tallstar and WindClan. Er, I think it was Hawkfrost who told him that, and that’s why he assumed that was happening, so blame Hawkfrost, not Mudclaw.
