Okay, so this post is a little later than what I would’ve wanted, but I’ve had a busy week 😛 I’m also a little tired, so, only one cat pic this time 😛 You’re getting plenty from Cadvent, anyway...
The seventh edition of the Blog Monthly is here – written by Lil, fresh off the printing press Hello, everyone!! The Blog Monthly is back and better than ever! I hope you all love this edition, in my opinion it is one...
Sliverthorn argues why Ashfur would’ve been better for Squirrelflight than Brambleclaw.
Blossomclaw closed her eyes and prayed to StarClan as she walked back with Lionheart to Gorserunner’s nest. “Why can’t he wake up?” She whimpered. Lionheart’s green eyes glistened. “I’m not sure.”
“I try to talk to him, but I feel like nothing is working…” Blossomclaw sighed, curling up next to the tom and licking his ears.
Lionheart dipped his head. “You just have to try.”
~Everlight and Redleaf~
Everlight was glad that Gorserunner wouldn’t be killed, and even though he’d been wary of the premature apprentice ceremony, he was unsure of how to react to the whole situation. He could tell that Redleaf wasn’t happy with how the vote had turned out… he hoped she’d see sense eventually, and realize that Thistlestar didn’t know everything. Everlight hoped his mate would learn that she had to decide things for herself, and to not follow the clan leader so blindly.
Redleaf knew that Thistlestar would do what was best for the clan. She was disappointed that the other warriors didn’t think the same. Clearly Thistlestar’s vote was the one to follow, but the others, including Everlight, had chosen differently… and now the clan could be in danger! What were those idiots thinking? And Everlight… Redleaf had thought he’d be smarter than this. But he voted to keep Gorserunner alive? She didn’t like the thought of loosing a clanmate, but a crazed warrior was too dangerous to risk it.
(ooooooooh, some tension between the young mates! I have no idea where I’m taking this, but it’s gonna be a wild ride!)
Blossomclaw closed her eyes and saw stars glitter in front of her as a dream took her. She found herself in a soft green meadow with sun illuminating from the sky and birds singing from the trees that surrounded it.
It was all so peaceful…
“Gorserunner?” Blossomclaw called, looking around and padding forward.
‘Where is he? Could he be in…StarClan?’ The thought send a pang to her heart. Suddenly, she felt something at her paws and looked down,
Gorserunner lay at her paws, breathing softly. He looked as if he were asleep, dreaming. “Gorserunner? Are you in…StarClan? Can you hear me? Don’t leave us, we need you!” Blossomclaw desperately nudged his shoulder, licking his ears.
The sky darkened around her and he heard thunder as she jolted awake. “Are you okay?” Lionheart asked, carrying a shrew in his jaws. “I-I’m Fine, just a bad dream.” Blossomclaw coughed as bile rose in her throat.
“Is he in StarClan?” Lionheart glanced at the tom with round eyes. “I don’t know…I saw him, he looked like he was sleeping, peacefully. He must just be in a coma.” Blossomclaw buried her face in her paws, her tortoiseshell fur bristling. “What could help…” Lionheart muttered, walking over to the medicine store and searching it.
Blossomclaw lifted her head from her paws, her amber eyes glowing. “Do you think an herb could help?” “Possibly…though I doubt it. If it could, Ivysnow would already have used it.” Lionheart sighed, stepping back with a shake of his pelt.
“What if there is a herb? But not on our territory.” Blossomclaw suddenly meowed.
Lionheart’s green eyes lit up. “Maybe…I saw some interesting herbs on the moor, WindClan’s territory.” He murmured. “On the moor?” Blossomclaw narrowed her eyes.
“On the way to the Gathering.” Lionheart explained.
“We should go there!” Blossomclaw purred, her tail waving hopefully.
“Right….,” Lionheart stared at Gorserunner with a frown, “But Who will watch him?” He mewed, his golden fur shifting. “Poolstorm?” Blossomclaw offered. “She has an apprentice now…” Lionheart meowed.
“Maybe Ivysnow? Cricketkit?” Blossomclaw asked.
“They can watch them.” Lionheart nodded.
“I’ll go ask her, watch Gorserunner while I’m gone.” Blossomclaw meowed, bounding out of the den.
As Bramblepaw clawed the moss from the apprentice den, she couldn’t help but notice her mentors sunken essence. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine.”
The brown she-cat snorted. “I can tell you’re not.”
Quickwind sighed. “I was going to go out and walk with Fawnheart, I was gonna take her to the creek bordering WindClan territory, near the old tunnel. I wanted to tell her how I really feel about her. But now that she has an apprentice, I feel like the only time I’ll get to spend with her is when we’re on patrol, or whatnot.”
Bramblepaw didn’t know what to say or do. She sighed quietly. “Can you tell her now?”
“Wouldn’t that be a bit spontaneous?”
” Sometimes being spontaneous is a good thing. ”
Quickwind rolled his ball of moss outside. He started thinking of what his apprentice was saying. “Maybe you’re right.” He meowed, trailing off. He stepped out of the den and ran out of camp. He sniffed the air. they must’ve gone to the training hollow. he thought.
He padded quietly close to the hollow to spot Fawnheart with Tigerfur and Poolstorm. “Fawnheart!” He called.
Fawnheart turned around and smiled. “Quickwind!” she purred
The sandy tom panted. “I need to talk to you. Privately.” He meowed as his pelt burned.
Fawnheart nodded to her apprentice to follow Poolstorm, then turned. “Yes?”
Blossomclaw walked out into the clearing. “Ivysnow!” She called to the medicine cat.
“Yes?” Ivysnow turned around.
“Can you watch Gorserunner?
I’m really tired and I need some rest.” Blossomclaw mewed to her with a fake yawn.
“Me too.” Lionheart piped in as he walked up, his golden fur bristling.
“Sure.” Ivysnow said.
Quickwind took in a deep breath, trying not to shake. “I know it’s too late, but I wanted to tell you that… I like you. Well I don’t like you.. I mean, I do like you,, you kind of have to like someone to love them.. I-I love you Fawnheart. ” He admitted, but then flattened his ears a bit. “But it’s too late. You have an apprentice now. But we still see each other around, you know?”
Fawnheart looked at him with warm eyes. “I love you too, Quickwind. And it doesn’t matter that we both have apprentices now. I was actually going to tell you the same thing during our walk. But I am happy to have an apprentice, and I love you.”
(Omg I’m like, dying inside 😛 )
Quickwind purred. “I-I just wanted to… say that.” He stammered. “You can go back to your..training, now.” He smiled.
Fawnheart nuzzled Quickwind and bounded away to go back to her patrol
(Awwww)
Blossomclaw bounded away to the warriors den, Lionheart following after her. “Wait, why are we going-“
“I know a secret way through.” Blossomclaw cut him off with a whisk of her tail, slipping into the den. Pushing past a moss curtain, she pushed him forward. “Go through this tunnel.” He nodded and slipped inside, Blossomclaw following.
Running out into the forest, the two warriors padded through the forest and to the border. The stream trickled quietly at the banks as they leapt across.
Blossomclaw panted and shook her damp fur. “Come on, you lead the way.”
Poolstorm ran through the forest with the rest of her patrol, the apprentices struggling to keep up.
Acornsplash is asleep
Ivysnow kept her ever watchful gaze in Gorserunner while sorting herbs.
Ryecloud is also asleep
Cricketkit pointed to Gorserunner to ask if she could watch him. She wanted to do something useful.
Looking around, Blossomclaw tasted the air and narrowed her eyes at the surrounding moor. “So where was this herb you say?” She asked, glancing at the SkyClan warrior.
“Over here.” Lionheart led them down a hill and near a rabbit burrow, a green leafy plant right at the entrance of a cluster of heather.
“That?” Blossomclaw pointed her tail at it, sniffing its roots. “Yes!” Lionheart excitedly started digging at its roots, picking it up in his jaws, “Should we take it back to camp?”
Blossomclaw nodded. “Yes. It might be our only chance.”
Dipping his head, Lionheart climbed up with her and back towards the border. Suddenly, Blossomclaw heard rustling in the gorse and stopped. “Lionheart…” she paused, turning around. ‘I feel like something is-‘
A big weight knocked Blossomclaw down to the ground as a fox burst from the Heather.
Saliva dripped from the fox’s jaws as Blossomclaw shrieked under its weight. Lionheart dropped the herb and launched onto the fox, raking its back. Blossomclaw felt pain from her stomach as the fox struck her belly, struggling under his reach and jumping out of the fox’s paws.
Wheeling around, she attacked its face with a battle cry. A sudden yowl startled the two warriors as a WindClan patrol appeared on the top of the hill, running down to burst into battle
(Windclan was driven away)
(Oops, nevermind)
“Run!” Blossomclaw kicked the fox in the snout, grabbing Lionheart’s scruff. The two grabbed the herb and scrabbled away, the fox pounding after them. Blossomclaw’s heart roared in her throat as she charged onto ThunderClan territory.
“Over here.” Lionheart called, diving into a hawthorn bush. Blossomclaw followed him, hearing the fox sniff the grass outside. She held her breath, seeing the fox look around and turn around, disappearing into the moor.
“Let’s get back to camp.” Blossomclaw sighed in relief, sneaking out of the bush and walking back towards camp.
Tigerfur and Fawnheart slowed down at the Owl Tree.
(Timeskip, if that’s ok)
Tigerfur and Fawnheart approached the camp. “And that’s the entire territory,” Fawnheart said. The too padded into camp
Blossomclaw walked through the Thorn tunnel, hissing as the thorns bagged at her wounds. Lionheart Cartier the herb behind her as they appeared into camp, slipping into the medicine den.
“Do you think this will work?” Blossomclaw asked Lionheart.
“It has to. It could.” Lionheart twitched his paws as he dropped the herb.
“Maybe chewing the root is good?” Blossomclaw murmured, pulling the root from the plant. Gorserunner was still unconscious in his nest, his chest slowly rising and falling.
Blossomclaw slowly padded up to him, “Gorserunner…? I don’t know if you can hear me, but I need you to chew and swallow this for me,” She mewed quietly.
“I don’t think he can chew it.” Lionheart sighed. Blossomclaw frowned, taking the root and nippling on it, making it soft. With a swallow, she pushed the soft root towards Gorserunner’s mouth, letting the tom swallow it.
“Is there anymore roots for later?” Blossomclaw glanced at the herb.
Lionheart nodded.
Tigerfur padded into Thistlestar’s den. “Do you want me to send that patrol now? To move Gorserunner to a spot out of camp?”
Blossomclaw waited patiently as Gorserunner swallowed and fell silent. Her heart pounded in her ear as he breathed shallowly, his pelt shifting. “Do you think this will work?” She shakily mewed.
“It has to.” Lionheart frowned.
Blossomclaw sat next to Gorserunner and watched his breathing carefully…it started to ease.
Tigerfur padded into the den, only to stop. “What are you two doing here?
Blossomclaw bristled, whipping around to see Tigerfur standing at the entrance of the den. “We’re visiting him.” She growled, hiding the remains of the herb behind her paws. Lionheart stood beside her with a nod. “Yes.”
Thistlestar waved a paw. “It’s a little late, but if you want., fine.”
Sorry guys, but the evening has gone on way too long. I recommend starting to send characters to sleep, but feel free to stay up talking.
Poolstorm paced around camp. Sleep was long in coming
All the apprentices bounced into their new den
And all the other characters of mine are asleep.
Cricketkit yawned. She limped over to the nursery and curled up next to Sweetspark and Shimmerkit, both of whom were asleep
Blossomclaw curled up beside Gorserunner, letting sleep overwhelm her. “Goodnight.” She nodded to Lionheart, who walked out of the medicine den and to the warriors den
Tigerfur glared at her. “Do you have to sleep next to him? He’s infected, you know.”
Meanwhile, Fawnheart came up to Quickwind. “Let’s go to bed.”
Blueflower was already asleep.
Rosesong hushed her adopted kits to sleep. “Goodnight, Sweetspark.” She yawned and went to sleep herself.
Cricketkit looked up a bit at Rosesong and nodded.
“He’s my mate, you’d understand if you had one.” Blossomclaw snapped coldly, sinking into the nest.
“Watch your mouth.” He growled. “I do have a mate, Rosesong.” He spoke her name quietly and softly. He truly cared for her. He turned away and stood outside the den.
(Oh oops, I didn’t know :3)
(Just pretend you did know and blossom said it out of anger)
(Okay)
~Everlight and Redleaf~
Everlight settled into his nest, wondering where Redleaf was. The sky was growing darker, and he was beginning to worry. He wondered if something he said had driven her off… he had been questioning Thistlestar a lot lately, and Redleaf was very loyal to her. He may have upset her. When she came back, he’d have to apologize… he didn’t want this to ruin their relationship. “Maybe I should go find her,” he murmured. He stood and left the warriors’ den, walking out into the camp. The moon was rising, casting a pale light on the hollow. Everlight saw his mate sitting under the ferns where they usually shared prey. “Redleaf?” He padded closer. “Hey, can we talk?” He asked gently.
Redleaf curled her tail around her paws. “Sure,” she muttered, not meeting his eyes. He sat down next to her, his tail twitching like it did when he was nervous. “Well? Spit it out,” she demanded. Maybe it was harsh, but he needed to know she was angry. She loved Everlight, but his blatant disloyalty was getting on her nerves. Why did it seem like he was incapable of trusting Thistlestar? This never happened with Graystar… but when the older leader had died, they’d just barely become warriors. Maybe he’d always been like this, and she’d just never seen it before.
Everlight sighed. Yep, she was angry. He’d figured. And he knew exactly why. “Listen, Redleaf… I…” He shook his head. “I’m sorry. I know I’ve been acting disloyal lately, and I know how much loyalty means to you. I just– I wanted to apologize. I haven’t been thinking before I speak. Yeah, a lot of Thistlestar’s decisions have seemed strange to me, but that doesn’t mean she’d not a good leader. I– I guess sometimes I wonder if everything would be easier if we made decisions as a clan, like we did with Gorserunner.” He chuckled at a sudden memory. “You know I’ve never been good at following orders. Remember the lake incident?” It had been the middle of leafbare, during the first few moons of their apprenticeships. Everlight– Everpaw, then– had decided to sneak out of camp in the middle of the night to go play on the ice-covered lake (something his mentor had explicitly told him NOT to do), and Redleaf– Redpaw– had followed him. Good thing, too– the ice cracked and he’d fallen in. He probably would’ve died, but Redpaw had told their mentors that he’d gone out, and they got there just in time to fish him out. He’d been on tick duty for a moon.
Redleaf remembered the incident as well, and couldn’t help but smile. “One would think you’d learn to follow the rules after that,” she teased, feeling her anger fade. She knew he meant every word he’d said. “I accept your apology,” she meowed formally. Then, smiling, she twined her tail with his. “And– maybe you’re right, sometimes. I mean, we’ve all heard stories about Brokenstar and the first Tigerstar… the leader isn’t always right. But Thistlestar isn’t like them. She’s a good leader.”
“I know she is,” Everlight agreed. He added, tentatively, “and it’s fine if you agree with her decisions… I just want to make sure you’re not so dependent on her that you forget you’re your own cat.”
Redleaf dipped her head in acknowledgement. “I can see how that could end up a problem. Don’t worry. I may agree with her a lot, but I still make my own choices. Just because I’m loyal doesn’t mean I’m a brainless warrior.” On the last sentence, she changed her tone so Everlight knew she was making a joke.
Everlight purred with laughter. “I’m glad we got that cleared up. Now…” he glanced up at the sky, where the moon was climbing fast. “We should probably get some sleep.” Redleaf nodded in agreement, and the two walked off to the warriors’ den, tails still intertwined.
Ok, it be morning now.
Thistlestar stretched and yawned, then padded out of her den
Poolstorm woke. Stepping carefully around still sleeping cats, she curled her tail around her paws and waited for Thistlestar.
Who are you taking for patrol? Thistlestar asked. Poolstorm met her gaze steadily and replied “I’d thought I’d take Redclaw, Everlight, Rainflight, and Mistblossom on the dawn patrol. And Rosesong, and Quickwind, Stormdawn and Juniperbreeze on a hunting patrol
A
(Sorry for spam, ran out of moderation time)
Furzepaw woke and stretched in her new den.
Acornsplash rose sleepily to his and padded into the clearing
Everlight poked Redleaf awake. “I have to go on dawn patrol,” he murmured.
“Alright,” she replied. “Am I on anything?”
“Not yet. Go back to sleep.” Everlight left the warriors’ den and joined Poolstorm in the camp. “Ready to go,” he said.
Redleaf yawned and drifted back off to sleep, planning on staying in her nest as long as possible.
Blossomclaw rose from her nest and padded out into the dawn light. “Can I lead a hunting patrol?” She asked her friend.
I’m back from the dead
“ Blossomclaw, you can join the patrol here!
Btw all of skyclans warriors and apprentices are awake
“Alright.” Blossomclaw led a few cats out into the forest, tasting the air for prey.
Everlight waited for the rest of the dawn patrol to arrive.
Redleaf snored softly.
If you want to leave on patrol, go ahead. If your on the patrol, timeskips are legal if you want something interesting to happen
Everlight started off on the dawn patrol, checking the borders for anything of interest.
The skyclan cats I named have left on their patrols. Any others can do whatever you want (within reason 😛)
Blossomclaw stretched back into camp with her Clanmates, dropping prey onto the fresh kill pile. A sudden sickness washed over her and she felt dizzy. She sat down, her fur bristling slightly.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞?
Then, her eyes darkened and black surrounded her.
~~~
Lionheart gasped. “Blossomclaw!”
He raced up, but paused as something touched his paws. Cockroaches scurried across the clearing from the prey, climbing cats paws. “Stop eating!” shrieked Lionheart, “Our prey’s been infected!”
Redleaf woke to a panic in the camp. “What’s going on?” She yelped, rocketing out of the warriors den.
Everlight returned from the patrol to find the camp in chaos. Cats were shouting about infected prey… and something was wrong with Blossomclaw. He immediately began searching for Redleaf, and found her pacing by the warriors den. “What happened?” He asked.
“I’m not sure,” she replied. “Shouting woke me up… I think Blossomclaw ate some of the infected prey. There were a lot of cockroaches.” She shuddered.
Everlight glanced at Blossomclaw again. “I hope she’s going to be alright… first Gorserunner, now her… ThunderClan is falling apart.”
[someone can interact… this rp is close to dead lol]
(Blossomclaw are you getting infected? 😉)
Poolstorm raced over too the fresh kill pile, “everyone out of camp!” She ordered. “Are you crazy?” Acornsplash demanded. “We have to kill them!” Poolstorm watched in dismay as he and a few skyclan warriors began stepping on cockroaches. Ivysnow growled. “You crazy fools!” She shouted. Furzepaw, Mallowpaw, and Gladepaw peered out at the writhing mass of roaches. Furzepaws fur bushed out and Mallowpaws claws dug into the earth. Gladepaw took a deep breath, and ran over. Furzepaw followed, but Mallowpaw disappeared. Furzepaw yowled with fear and Ryecloud shrieked with horror.
Lionheart thrashed at the flying bugs with a flurry of claws. “Poolstorm’s right! We need to get the kits and elders out first!” He shrieked as a mass pushed him onto the ground.
(I thought we were in ThunderClan, not SkyClan?)
Everlight and Redleaf picked their way quickly across the camp, carefully avoiding the cockroaches, until they were standing by Poolstorm. “What are we supposed to do? We can’t all just leave, where will we go?” Everlight asked, frantic.
“And where is Thistlestar? We need to gather the clan, find out who else was affected,” Redleaf suggests, trying to keep calm.
(Skyclan is in Thunderclan camp)
Thistlestar leaped out of the mass of cockroaches. “Acornsplash is right .” She said. “We must get rid of them!”
Poolstorm watched in disbelief As her leader sprang back into camp. “Everyone out!” She ordered.
Then Gladepaw screamed. “Mallowpaw! WHERE’S MALLOWPAW?”
Redleaf raced over to Thistlestar to help. “There’s so many of them, we can’t kill them all!”
Everlight joined them. “They’re everywhere! I’ve never seen this many cockroaches in my life!”
“Thistlestar. What should we do?” Redleaf asked the leader.
Thistlestar glared at her from where she stood in the waves of bugs. “Kill them!” She howled.
Mallowpaw thrashed frantically, thousands of pests rolling over her. She screamed.
Everlight and Redleaf bounded around the camp, crushing as many bugs as they could.
