MTB is a lot of off-road biking competitions and often requires quick-thinking and bravery! I’d say it’s pretty difficult, especially when I was beginning. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve landed wrong on a jump or crashed into a tree 😛
my older brother encouraged me to give mountain biking a try when I was in 3rd grade, and I ended up joining a league in the 6th grade! anyway it’s something that I’ve put a lot of time and money into and really enjoy doing.

and sure, no problem! OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I began showing symptoms in early kindergarten and was diagnosed a few years later.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, is "a long-lasting disorder in which a person experiences uncontrollable and recurring thoughts (obsessions), engages in repetitive behaviors (compulsions), or both."
OCD comes with 'tics', things that you feel unable to control or resist, often feeling the need to do something repeatedly in a specific way.
An example of a tic could be arranging things in a specific order. It's not just being neat and tidy – you could feel like something bad is going to happen if you don't do it.
It's different for everyone, but a few of my tics include repeatedly tensing muscles, intrusive thoughts, scrunching up my nose, rubbing things I've touched with the palm of my hand with the backs of my fingers and verbal tics, like repeating sounds. They usually happen when I'm anxious or frustrated.
It's something that will very likely last my whole life. I often tic without even realizing it; tics are just something I've had to learn to live with, but are a lot less noticeable and distracting to others, thanks to medication.
A lot of people, including me, take medication to calm their symptoms. It doesn't completely take it away, but can prevent it from worsening. Before I began taking meds, (please note that I was between kindergarten and third grade – quite young.) tics would cause me to cry because I felt that nothing I was doing was perfect, or that everything I touched was suddenly contaminated. I didn't know why I was feeling that way, and that saddened and frustrated me.
Another way people can cope with OCD is going to therapy. My old therapist gave me a book called "What to do when your Brain Gets Stuck" by Dawn Huebner, and it says on the back,
"Did you know that people have brain sorters that keep their brains from getting cluttered with unnecessary thoughts? Sometimes these brain sorters get mixed up, though, and brains get clogged with thoughts that really bother kids." I think that this is a simple and good way to describe it, especially for younger kids.
