In the future (think the same timeline as my Staten Island mansion), I think I would like a classy vintage bedroom with antique, red mahogany furniture. I could also have some bookshelves with classic novels and other antiques that wouldn’t fit in my study. I’d want hardwood floors, perhaps a more subtle mahogany, with a stunning red rug with immaculate gold accents covering most of the floor. I’d also include dramatic, dark red curtains, vintage framed pictures, and faux plants for decoration. If I have lamps, they’ll most likely be antique tabletop lamps, with a warmer lightbulb (ideally LEDs, if I can find one) to achieve that overall vintage orange glow, which I’ve always found more appealing than the cold, sterile blue LEDs some houses tend to have, and the walls would probably lean more tan or beige rather than grey or white, as I don’t like that, either.

For bathroom, the one attached to my room, at least, I would like a more natural approach to the design, almost like a secret garden connected to my Victorian manor of a bedroom. Probably not as immersive as the majority of my other rooms, but I’d like the idea to be there. I also want it to smell clean, but the specific sort of cleanliness that you’d smell in the water at the Rainforest Cafe. Which is awfully specific, I’ll admit, but it’s a very nostalgic scent to me, and, if you couldn’t already tell, my dreams are built on nostalgia 😛 And, though it’s strange, I might want a fountain in there, just to really nail down the garden vibe.
