Explain your honest opinion on Mistystar, including your opinions on:
– Her actions in TBC
– The fact that she’s apparently immortal 😛
– Her general leadership skills.
AlderPuddle Shipper
Mistystar isn’t that immortal, domestic cats can live to be 18 years old and 14 compared to that isn’t that much, though Mistystar is a feral cat, but then again, most feral cats don’t have nine lives. I wish people would stop saying she should die just because she’s older than most cats.
Mistystar is a fine leader, I loved her in A Shadow in RiverClan and I thought her relationship with Feathertail was really sweet. I don’t like what she did to Mothwing, but otherwise she’s find in my book!
I really liked Mistystar as Mistyfoot, she was a very cool character. I think she was a pretty good leader for most of her career, but I haven’t liked her most recent actions.
I don’t mind that she’s still around, since she’s one of the few cats left from TPB, which I veiws as a good thing. I also think it would be funny if she just kept living forever 😛 Since she has nine lives, it makes sense that she would live longer than most cats.
she misty
Mistystar isn’t immortal, she just hasn’t died yet 😛
I think she’s a ok leader, and she’s one of my favorite characters
– Very very very ew
– Go die Misty
– Ew. She was a superb deputy, she was level-headed and kept Leopardstar reasonable, and she and Stonefur were both reasonable, brave, confident and knew what they stood for. Current Mistystar is all over the place

yes and yes
winter from wings of fire
(repost because it was the last post on the last page)
What non-villain warrior cat characters do you think would make great villains?
yea
Maybe Ivypool.
And Honeyfern, of course, but that’s mainly because of my Evil Honeyfern AU fanfic I’m writing 😛
AlderPuddle Shipper
Alderheart.
Or Ravenpaw.
Nervous bois turned evil. 😛
Hmm……. maybe Hollytuft… Idk lol.
What are some advantages and disadvantages you’ve found come with having a minor character as your favorite character in a book/movie/show/musical?
Advantages I’ve noticed:
– Since they’re minor, it makes the moments they’re in the book/movie/show/musical even more special! <3
– Coming up with head canons about minor characters can be really fun! Especially since there’s often zero ways to disprove the head canon if the character is minor!
– They feel more like “your” favorite, which can make you grow more attached to your favorite minor character. <3
Disadvantages I’ve noticed:
– They’re often underrated. While a minor character might be your number one favorite character in the book/movie/show/musical, lots of other people likely don’t have that character as their favorite, or even pay attention to them- especially if this character is so minor, people don’t even remember them.
– The character isn’t in it a lot. Yes, this can make the moments they’re in more special (see above ^^) but it can also leave you missing your favorite character a lot.
– People sometimes will ask why you chose a minor character as your favorite, because apparently some people think that a character being minor equals not being important/likable/favorite character material.
What things have you noticed?
AlderPuddle Shipper
Most of the above, plus a disadvantage of the fact that they have tendency to randomly die and, in turn, get lame deaths 😛
hmmm idk probably a disadvantage is very little content and basically filling in the gaps yourself
Who’s your favorite minor character?
AlderPuddle Shipper
yesss
hmm…
FERNSONG
The nursery dad who never got any attention to the plot and the storyline where he took care of the kits was completely forgotten about.
I really wish he did take care of Ivypool’s kits like he said he would since that would have added a whole newish character role to Warriors. 🙂
I love Fernsong! <3 I actually wrote an article about why he deserves a novella or super edition, it just hasn’t come out yet. 🙂
AlderPuddle Shipper
Shrewpaw!
henry
Duskpaw! (However, if Leafstar is considered a minor character, then she is my favorite minor character!)
Flipclaw my beloved.
Fernsong, Flipclaw, and (If consider a minor character) sleekwhisker(she would have been a great villan.
Finleap and Foxleap, and Honeyfern and Jessy, and Thrushpelt!
Lilyheart or Gremlin if she c ounts
Give your honest opinion on Spottedleaf, including:
– Your thoughts on Fire x Spotted
– Do you think Spottedleaf is a Mary-Sue?
– Your opinion on both of her deaths
– Your opinion on her character overall
AlderPuddle Shipper
no to a relationship of them
– No, this was more of a crush than a relationship
– No, she is definetly not a Mary Sue, due to her actions in her novella.
– idk
– I like her character when she is alive, it she is kinda stalkerish when she is dead for the first few books, but it is sweet how she gave up her second life for Sandstorm. 😀
FirexSpotted is very creepy, he meets her when he is six moons old and she is 4 or 5 years old. There is 0 developement when she’s alive, and then she hangs around in his dreams like they were deeply in love.
Kinda. I’ve seen FireSpotted as an argument that she’s not, but it wasn’t meant to be creepy from the author’s perspective. Personality wise, she’s just “nice”, which isn’t particulalry interesting.
I don’t really have an opinion on either death, nor on her character in general, beyond that I don’t think she’s very interesting.
– I like how Spottedleaf supports Firestar when he needs it, and how she patched up his relationship with Sandstorm. I don’t ship them, I think it’s slightly creepy, but I definitely think there are worse ships than Spotted x Fire
– Nope! She has flaws, like what she did with Leafpool, plus her novella is firm proof against it. Also, the ‘Firestar perspective’ thing I said in my Mary-Sue characters rant.
– They were both really sad.
–She’s pretty neat! A little bossy but extremely kind and loving
I love Spottedleaf- she’s my favorite medicine cat! <3 And I think she's likely the best medicine cat in the books due to her compassion, responsibility, and knowledge of healing. She's really wise, too.
Up until The Darkest Hour I actually had no clue SpottedXFire was even a thing- I always thought he has a strong affection for her as his friend and medicine cat. I don't ship it, but I love both characters individually.
She's not a Mary-Sue.
Her second death was sooo sad! 🙁 She was really selfless and I loved her last words to Mapleshade, when she stood up against the other cat's claims that Sandstorm's love for Firestar hurt her- because in reality she wants them to be happy. So brave and kind. It's heartbreaking we'll never see her again.
– This ship creeps me out, I don’t like it
– Somewhat yes, because despite all her flaws I can see(Creepy, still wants to be with someone despite the fact that they have a mate and kits already) they are never addressed in the books because the books think she’s perfect.
– Very sad :(, I still cried despite my dislike for her
– I thought she was cool when she was alive, but after she died she became way to creepy.
1. It’s terrible
2. In some ways, yes.
3. First death, it was literally just Firestar crying over her dead body. Her second death, she saved Sandstorm, so that’s fine with me. And then Firestar cries over her dead body…again.
4. She’s fine when she’s alive, but too involved when she’s dead.
What are your opinions on these Warriors characters?
– Dovewing 🕊
– Leopardstar 🐆
– Lionblaze 🦁
– Turtlecrawl 🐢
– Bone 🦴
– Sparkpelt ⚡️
– Brightheart 💖
– Clear Sky 🌌
– Jagged Peak 🏔
– Wind Runner 💨
AlderPuddle Shipper
yes
– I like Dovewing! She’s pretty emphatic and confident.
– I used to love her, but after Leopardstar’s Honor I absolutely despise her
– A mix of Mellowix’s article about him and a side of me that thinks he’s kind
– She was really mean to Rootspring. I like her a bit more later on. Her name is cute 😀
– I greatly dislike him.
– I don’t like her all that much. She’s a little too bold, and somewhat rude.
– I like her!
– I hate him so much in The First Battle, but I felt bad for him when he reunited with Quiet Rain, and I like his relationship with Star Flower.
– I hate him.
– She’s pretty neat!
– I think she’s cute and has a very interesting character arc. I’m glad to see that she’s finally happy.
– I don’t like her. She’s pretty stubborn and rude. Plus all that other stuff of her letting ShadowClan kill Stonefur, Mistyfoot, Featherpaw, and Stormpaw. That left some severe trauma on Featherpaw. Also the lake part in how she and her warriors gatekeep’s the water.
– I think parts of him are underused and he had a lot of wasted potential. I loved him as an apprentice though and found him very interesting in TBC.
– They’re one of the apprentices that bullied Rootspring, and they do nothing afterwards. I can’t remember which of the two Turtlecrawl is but I think they’re boring and mean.
– He killed Whitestorm, need I say more?
– I don’t like her xenophobic self in AVOS towards SkyClan or how she treated her brother when she was a warrior. I think she’s interesting though.
– A sweet soul who I love dearly.
– Bad cat, but interesting. He killed Rainswept Flower and starved a cat so he’s on my heavily dislike list.
– He’s alright, I don’t remember much about him
– She’s really cool from what I remember
Hate her
She’s fine
Eh
I couldn’t remember who it is
His death was funny
Stop hating on SkyClan!
Yes she’s very fun to draw
Hmmm he’s annoying
He’s also annoying
She’s cool and I also like Gorse Fur. They’ll forever be Gorse Fur and Wind Runner, not Gorsestar and Windstar.
– I love Dovewing and think most of the hate around her is uncalled for.
-Leopardstar was kind of an irritating character in her Super Edition since her character changed halfway through, but she’s alright, I guess-
-Lionblaze is much better in TBC but still a bit..bland.
-She’s alright.
-Bone is fine, I guess, but he killed Whitestorm so I don’t like him that much.
-Sparkpelt is great.
-Brightheart is also a great character-wise but is not a good example of how disabled characters should be treated in society. [she was initially named after her injury, never got an actual apprentice]
-Clear Sky would have been much better as an antagonist if the Erins didn’t try to make him look better by 1) giving him PoV chapters starting at The First Battle, and 2) trying to give him a redemption arc that made more people hate him
-Jagged Peak exudes the exact cynical attitude that I would expect him to have because of the way he was treated, and I love that.
-Wind Runner is pretty cool, and the only WindClan leader [that wasn’t retconned in to fill space] that is female.
I love her and will defend her forever
She’s fine I’m kind of neutral on her
I don’t really like him
I like her name I guess
Don’t really remember him
I dislike her
She’s cool
I don’t like him
She’s pretty cool

Give your honest opinion on Velvet, including:
– Your thoughts on Alder x Velvet
– Her relationship with Fuzzball
– Her character overall
– Her attachment to her toy
AlderPuddle Shipper
part 1
Velvet is one of my ultimate favorite characters- I just adore this sweet kitty! <3
Her attachment to her toy is super cute and was among the first things that made her stand out to me as a unique character, as well as making her relatable since I have a special stuffed animal as my comfort object.
I love Velvet for her kindness- her caring side was what got her into my favorites list. She's so gentle towards everyone around her, which I adore about her, and it's clear to see that compassion is as important to her as it's always been for me- the way Clans care for their sick and elderly was what really made her like their lifestyle.
The way Velvet cared for Briarlight was so heartwarming! She made sure she was comfortable and soothed her as she took her herbs. Velvet cares so much about even cats she doesn't know well- and not only about their physical wellbeing but also about the comfort they need emotionally.
I've heard Velvet accused of being a mary-sue a few times, but I don't think she is. She's just kind, plus it makes sense that she acted "perfect" during her stay in ThunderClan because she already had trouble begging them to let her stay and it was clear she was scared of upsetting Bramblestar/Jayfeather- of course she'd avoid slipping up in order to be considerate of them! She was also shown to be unable to stand up for herself, as well as insecure about her toy despite not needing to be- those are a few of her weaknesses.
part 2
Velvet’s backstory is really sad. It’s so upsetting when people just abandon a pet- when you adopt an animal you have to commit to caring for them forever! 🙁
It was cool to see a kittypet with medicine cat skills, though- we’ve seen some kittypet characters with warrior skills like Jessy, but this is a bit more rare. And Velvet’s knowledge helped ThunderClan a lot.
Velvet’s interesting past makes me want a novella! What lousy excuse did Velvet’s former owners have for dumping her? How did she discover healing herbs? It would be cool to know more of her backstory!
part 3
Velvet and Fuzzball’s friendship is pretty cute! They seem to have an older sister/little brother bond between them- it’s so adorable how Fuzzball loves going on about all kinds of random topics and Velvet looks on with amusement- reminds me a bit of how I feel listening to some of my younger friends talk.
Escaping the fire together really showed the support between them- they seem to make a good team with her being cautious and mature, and him being more outgoing and joyful. Their names go pretty well together, too, which is cute- they’re both named for something soft and fuzzy!
Velvet’s friendship with Ajax is sweet too- he shows a lot of concern for her, and she’s accepting and appreciative even when he gets a bit too fussy.
part 4
AlderXVelvet is really cute.
One of the things I like is that Alderheart was actually attracted to Velvet’s kindness- which shows true feelings as well as being accurate to Alderheart’s character.
I love the idea of them being a med cat pair, and having a supportive girlfriend would be good for Alderheart, and they would also make amazing, understanding parents- which are all ideas I love exploring in AUs and fanfics.
However, Alderheart is loyal to his Clan and Velvet to her housefolk so it makes sense that they would choose to say goodbye and go separate ways.
I respect the mature way they ended the relationship- with neither one being bitter but instead leaving on positive terms of consideration, understanding, and mutual respect.
Whether you view them as a couple or as cats who chose to stay friends, the relationship between these two is undeniably healthy and that’s what makes me love them.
There’s a lot of consideration and respect between these cats- neither ever pushes boundaries and they remember to care for those around them as well as each other. Both these cats are kindhearted and attracted to each other’s kindness rather than something as superficial as looks or status. They genuinely care about each others’ needs and wellbeing, and they respect each other to the point that they ended the relationship to avoid getting the other in trouble. They are definitely positive role-models.
I think, had the circumstances been different, AlderXVelvet would have made an amazing loving couple.
yes
I agree with what Pinestripe said ^^
Velvet is a pretty great character even though she isn’t one of my top favorites! I think Alder x Velvet was pretty cute, and that Velvet and Alderheart complimented each other’s personalities excellently. Alderheart was a nervous cat and Velvet also faced a little insecurity when she first arrived at Thunderclan. At the same time, they are both extremely kind, and are willing to put others before themselves. Both have a gentle and caring nature. It is impossible to forget how kindly Velvet treated Briarlight and helped Alderheart with some medicine cat duties. Not to mention that both Alderheart and Velvet share a common sense of deep compassion and care for others.
Speaking of others, Velvet’s connection with Fuzzball is wonderful. Her relationship with him feels—to me at least—like a brother-sister sort of relationship. Velvet is that patient and caring older sister while Fuzzball is the energetic and talkative younger brother!
Her attachment with her toy is pretty interesting as well because it is very unique. I don’t think I can recall any Warriors character with a connection as deep as Velvet’s with an inanimate object! It was so sweet to see how much Velvet valued her toy.
Overall, Velvet is a unique character with a kind, caring, and compassionate personality. In the short time that she appeared to the clans, she left a good impact on the clans and proved herself as an incredible character.
– It’s a cute ship but they’re better off as friends
– Cute, I love fuzball
– She’s alright, just a cute cat. There isn’t really much I can say about her.
– It’s cute
Give your honest opinion on Bluestar, including:
– Your opinions on both Blue x Thrush and Blue x Oak
– Your thoughts on one of the most debated about things in Warriors: Was Bluestar right to give up her kits? And if she wasn’t, what would have been a better thing for her to do?
– Is Bluestar a good leader?
AlderPuddle Shipper
yea
– I haven’t read Bluestar’s prophecy
– No. Communicate with Thrushpelt for goodness sake, he’s a good cat. He knows the kits aren’t his. Just tell him your concerns and get him to take care of the kits. Then everyone will be convinced Thrushpelt is the dad. Win-win situation. Bluestar gets deputy, Thrushpelt gets kits, Mosskit gets life
– No. She’s pretty stanky
– No opinion, never read Bluestar’s prophecy
– Ehhhh, probably not. I mean I get why, either the kits go to their father’s clan or they grow up in a clan with Thistleclaw as leader. Her kits would have to grow up in a clan with Leopardstar though so it’s not much of a change xD. It was a tough decision, but I think she could have handled it better. Like ask Thrushpelt if he’ll help you carry the kits or something.
– She’s an interesting one, and she’s alright until her downfall. After her downfall she was reckless, extremely awful to the disabled cats, and petty. The part when she saved fireheart from the dogs though was cool.
Give your honest opinion on Bramblestar, including:
– Your opinion on Squirrel x Bramble.
– Your opinion on Bramble x Jessy.
– Is Bramblestar a good leader?
– What do you think of his actions in Squirrelflight’s Hope, particularly the way he treats Squirrelflight in that book?
– Thoughts on his super edition, Bramblestar’s Storm?
– Was he a good father?
AlderPuddle Shipper
yes
– ew
– ew
– no
– He was absolutely inexcusably disgusting in that book
– I love Minty, Purdy and the apprentices. Everyone else (maybe apart from Briarlight and Stormcloud) was pretty ew in that book. It’s one of my favourites, though, because it was my first warrior cats book
– no
– I don’t like the ship it’s very uncomfortable to read about the two especially when they fight
– No thoughts
– He is okay. He’s not horrible like Onestar but he’s extremely boring and slow.
– No thoughts
– No thoughts
– He is an AMAZING father to the three in PO3, but he’s a bad father to Alderheart.
Overall Brambleclaw > Bramblestar
Hate it
Just leave your Clan and go with her. Bramblestar should let Squirrelflight lead!
No.
He treated her awfully. She didn’t do anything to deserve that! He’s toxic! And bad!
I only read it because Dustpelt died in it and I wanted to cry about it. But he was in general a slow leader.
Nope.
He was better in TNP, when he was full of life and actually involved in funny scenes.
Squirrel x Bramble is not okay. Their relationship is toxic with Bramblestar putting Squirrelflight down and not listening to her opinions. It was good in the beginning when Squirrelflight was a new warrior and Bramblestar was Brambleclaw, but I feel like after the end of TNP, it just went downhill.
With Squirrel x Bramble potrayed as a clearly not okay ship, Bramble x Jessy comes into play. I feel like Bramble x Jessy was okay, but it probably would have never worked out at the end of the day.
As for Bramblestar’s leadership skills, they are not that great, but they are not super awful either. In other words, there is lots of room for improvement!
Bramblestar’s actions in Squirrelflight’s Hope are inexcusable. He would not let Squirrelflight to vocalize her opinions if they contradicted his and he would ignore what Squirrelflight wanted. I also found it sort of annoying how at the end of the book, Squirrelflight’s and Bramblestar’s relationship suddenly became pretty much okay after Squirrelflight visited Starclan. It made no sense to me why their relationship had suddenly become mended after the entire book before the end had shown it to be full of holes.
Bramblestar’s Storm was a good super edition, although I found the story being told from Bramblestar’s persepctive to be awfully boring. I liked how it showed Bramblestar struggling with the Great Storm and taking in kittypets. I also enjoyed how well the apprentices’ enthusiasm was expressed in the book.
Bramblestar was an okay father. He was good enough of a father to Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf, but I felt as though he sort of didn’t care that much about Alderheart and Sparkpelt.
