  • SkyClan’s Tale: Chapter 1 BOLD

Lilypool was hunting on Thunderclan land when a patrol came up on her. She pounced on the vole before looking up.
Bluestar growled, “What are you doing with that vole?”
Lilypool shrank back the dead vole in her jaws, “Hunting for my starving clan.”
Tigerclaw growled so did Redtail as he spoke, “On our terrtiory I suppose.”
“Well what can you say you plump menaces to the clans! We’re starving!” Lilypool hissed.
A Skyclan patrol emerged all carrying prey looking at the Thunderclan patrol. After a tense wait a patrol member from Skyclan spoke, “Bluestar you know we have very little territorry to hunt on.”
“Thunderclan attack!” was Bluestar’s only response.
Lilypool hissed as a powerful dark tabby tom turned to her. “Tigerclaw,” she growled.
He wasted no time leaping at her. Lilypool turned and slashed her claws along his sides. Tigerclaw growled and turned to face her slashing his claws out at her muzzle. Reeling back Lilypool fell to the ground.
Tigerclaw let out a yowl of victory, “Die you fox-heart.”
Lilypool waited for just a moment longer then grabbing him by his legs rolled over to the stream. Hissing she leapt away as Tigerclaw yowled with fury launching at her. She heard Sunflower there deputy calling to retreat Lilypool fled her wounds bleeding. All the cats were bleeding and wounded.

Lilypool heard these words and yowled, “No, not Lakeripple he can’t be dead.” Lakeripple was her mate and yesterday she found out she was going to have kits.
Sunflower shook her head, “I’m sorry Lilypool he’s dead and we couldn’t even get his body.”
The clan leader made the aunncouncement, “Cats of Skyclan we cannot sirurive like this for much longer we must show ThunderClan who’s boss!”
The clan cheered all execpt Lilypool who the medicine cat was coming to her. “Come to my den,” she mewed softly.
All Lilypool could do was stare into the distance, “Lakeripple why did you have to leave me now,” she whispered.
“Let’s get you something for the shock,” the medicine cat crooned like she was talking to a newborn kit.
A few hours later Sunflower came in and mewed softly. “I brought some prey.”
The medicine cat thank her the told Lilypool, “Eat and go to the nrursey.”

Outside Moonstar was talking to the clan, “Cats of Skyclan we must fight Thunderclan chase them out.”
One of the cats spoke out, “What but that’s against the warrior code!”

Lilypool led her patrol after Moonstar’s was out of sight. “Let’s go,” she mewed.
The plan was that Moonstar would run in yowling like a manic with her patrol. They would act like they lost. Come out and Lilypool’s patrol would come in and fight even harder but still give up. Then when most of the clan was asleep. They would attack all at once and defeat Thunderclan.
Moonstar’s patrol stood up, “Let’s go and remeber no risks,” she mewed.
          “Okay,” the patrol responded.

Lilypool ears pricked up, “Lakeripple dead,” she mewed tears welling up in her eyes.
“I’m sorry Lilypool I know he was special to you,” Sunflower mewed softly.
The clan medicine cat came out muttering something. Lilypool watched him treat injuries while she waited for her turn.
Moonstar came out as the whole clan was talking muttering to each other, “We must launch a attack on Thunderclan,” he yowled.

    Chapter 1
Yellowfang stumbled slightly. Her breath came out in short, shallow gasps. “Are you OK?” Rowanberry asked anxiously, supporting her sister’s weight on her shoulder.
“I’m fine,” Yellowfang replied, but she didn’t feel fine.
Her belly felt…strange. No! It couldn’t be! Yes, Yellowfang was hanging out with Raggedpelt a lot, but she didn’t mate him. “I’ll fetch Sagewhisker,” Rowanberry offered.
“No, I can make it to his den myself,” Yellowfang shoved her sister out of the way.
“Grump-face,” Rowanberry muttered, stalking away, but Yellowfang heard the anxiety in her voice.
“Sagewhisker, the kits!” Yellowfang mewed in a low tone.
Only Sagewhisker knew that Yellowfang was in love with Raggedpelt. “I told you not to hang out with that deputy,” Sagewhisker grumbled, emerging from his den. “But what was done was done.”
    “Thank you,” Yellowfang whispered, relieved.
After a long, painful moment (of cracking sticks), Sagewhisker murmured, “You’ve done it, Yellowfang! A ginger tabby she-kit. Wait, no – more are coming! Yellowfang, stay alive until the kits are born.”
Yellowfang knew Sagewhisker relented the prospect of his best friend breaking the warrior code, but he would do anything to save a life.
“Two more kits! A cream-and-brown she-kit and a dark brown tabby tom.” Sagewhisker reported.
“Fetch Raggedpelt,” Yellowfang whispered weakly. She wasn’t sure she would survive.
“Allright. Stay alive, Yellowfang.” Sagewhisker turned and left.

    Chapter 2
“Yellowfang!” Raggedpelt cried, entering the medicine cat den.
“Raggedpelt,” Yellowfang mustered a weak smile, blinking open her eyes. “My true love.”
At those words, Sagewhisker flinched. “The names, Yellowfang. In case you don’t survive,” he reminded the black she-cat.
“What? Sagewhisker, tell me she’ll live!” Raggedpelt roared, turning on the medicine cat.
“Oh, well. It’s unsure…I don’t know, but she could be joining the ranks of StarClan soon.” Sagewhisker meowed, looking uncomfortable.
“No!” Raggedpelt bent over his mate, licking her frantically.
Worry glinted in his eyes. Yellowfang lifted her head weakly and nuzzled his, just to banish the frantic worry that clouded her mate’s gaze.
    “The names,” Sagewhisker repeated.
“Yellowfang?” Raggedpelt pointed at the pale ginger tabby.
“Wishkit.” Yellowfang replied without hesitating. “For all the wishes you’ve fulfilled.”
“Aww,” Raggedpelt nuzzled Yellowfang. “And the cream-brown one?”
“Hopekit, for all the hope I have to live on with you,” Yellowfang whispered.
“And the last one?” Raggedpelt’s smile almost faded at the mention of ‘life.’
“Lightkit, for the light and darkness that’s been mine.” Yellowfang answered.
    “It’s time,” Sagewhisker meowed.
    “Bye, my love,” Raggedpelt whispered.
    “Bye, my love.” Yellowfang breathed.
Then the darkness of death enveloped her.

  • Hopes and Wishes
    Chapter 3
When Yellowfang awoke, she expected to see stars.
But instead, she saw Raggedpelt, eyes glinting in worry. She saw Hopekit, Lightkit and Wishkit tumbling on the medicine cat floor. She saw Sagewhisker, bustling around with some herbs in his mouth.
    “Yellowfang!” Sagewhisker cried. “You’re alive!”
“Aren’t I dead?” Yellowfang meowed in confusion.
“Nope,” Raggedpelt replied. “Sagewhisker rescued you.”
Sagewhisker beamed. “But what about the kits?” his smile faded.
“I’ll tell them their true mother.” Yellowfang answered.
“Don’t you dare.” Raggedpelt darted to block Yellowfang’s path.
But Yellowfang ducked under Raggedpelt and tore across the camp. “Cedarstar!” she yelped, stumbling into the leader’s den.
“Yellowfang,” Cedarstar countered calmly, though there was a hint of surprise in his voice.
“You’re alive!” Rowanberry cried, barreling Yellowfang over.
“I have something to say.” Yellowfang stared at her paws.
“Yes?” Cedarstar and Rowanberry mewed at the same time, quivering with anticipation.
    “I – I have kits.” Yellowfang blurted.
“But – that’s against the warrior code!” Cedarstar sputtered.
“I know, and I shame myself. Exile me, but don’t harm my kits.” Yellowfang pleaded.
    Rowanberry nudged Cedarstar.
“I’m in the middle of punishing a traitor,” Cedarstar elbowed Rowanberry.
    “Um.” Yellowfang mewed.
“Yup! We’re in love!” Rowanberry cried, hugging Cedarstar.
    “Not anymore,” Cedarstar grumbled.
    “You’re kidding!” Rowanberry shrugged.
“And you’re kitting!” Cedarstar retorted playfully.
“Speaking of kits,” the grin on Rowanberry’s eyes faded, “Why did you break the code, sis? And who is the lucky father?”
    “Raggedpelt,” Yellowfang blushed.
    “Oooh!” Rowanberry teased.
“But, sorry to break the mood over here, what should the punishment be?” Cedarstar asked.

  • Evil Jayfeather (part 1)

Lionblaze padded through the forest with Rosepetal and Mousewhisker; they were on a hunting patrol. A scuffling sounded in the bushes, the wind was blowing the wrong way so they couldn’t smell whatever it was .
“You go on I’ll check this out” Lionblaze mewed.
The two warriors nodded in agreement and padded off following prey scent trails. Once they were gone Lionblaze turned around and headed into the bushes.
    Mouse?.
As he pushed his way through the bushes he saw Jayfeather with his back to him.
“Hi” he meowed, relieved that it wasn’t the fox that had been driven off the territory by a patrol the day before.
    Jayfeather whipped around snarling.
“Hey, it’s me!” he mewed in surprise “What’s gotten into you?”
Jayfeather’s hackles flattened. “What do you want?”
    “I heard rustling and . . .” he began.
“You mistake me for prey” Jayfeather snapped.
“No,” he meowed. Then he saw a stick with scratches lying in the grass.
    “Hey, what‘s that?”
    “What?”
    “That!”
He reached for it but Jayfeather leapt at him and sank his claws deep into his shoulder.
He gasped in pain, and shook Jayfeather off.
“Get away from the precious!” the scrawny medicine cat yowled in fury, and leapt at Lionblaze again.
This time Lionblaze was ready, he sank his claws into the ground and Jayfeather bounced off him and Lionblaze pounced on him pinning him down.
“Why are you doing this?” he growled.
Jayfeather’s only response was another yowl of pure hatred.
    I can’t hurt my brother.

  • part 2
“What’s going on?” Mousewhisker’s voice sounded from the bushes, then he and Rosepetal emerged. They both gasped at the sight of Lionblaze pinning Jayfeather down.
“What are you doing to him?” Rosepetal breathed.
Before Lionblaze could explain Jayfeather started yowling again.
“He tried to take the precious!”.
Mousewhisker looked puzzled, “What does he mean?” he enquired.
“That,” Lionblaze said, nodding to the stick in the grass, realisation dawning that it was the ancient stick which Jayfeather had been obsessed with. Lionblaze had never really known what was so special about it.
“When I tried to look at it he attacked me .We need to get him back to camp” Lionblaze mewed.
“But he’s too dangerous when he’s in this state,” Mousewhisker argued.
“We can’t just leave him here,” Lionblaze protested “there’s still that fox lurking around!”
“What about the old Twoleg nest, he could sleep there until he’s cooled off” Rosepetal mewed brightly.
    “Great Idea Rosepetal” Mousewhisker meowed.
Both warriors turned and looked at Lionblaze, he looked down at Jayfeather who was still screeching as he tried to get out of Lionblaze’s grip.
    “Okay” he growled.

The patrol had left Jayfeather in the Twoleg nest with a thrush and some moss for his nest. Now the sun was setting as they were padding down the slope toward the hollow when they heard Brackenfur yowling, “Has anyone seen Jayfeather?”
    Oh no!
As the patrol padded down the slope, Sorreltail bounded up to them.
“Have you seen Jayfeather?” she mewed breathlessly.
“Yes,” Mousewhisker meowed grimly, and padded past her.
Sorreltail gave Lionblaze a puzzled glance.
He just shrugged and followed Mousewhisker.

  • part 3
Firestar was in the middle of the camp talking with Brambleclaw, Dustpelt, Sandstorm and Greystripe.
“I know where Jayfeather is,” Mousewhisker mewed self-importantly.
    “Where?” Bramblecaw meowed.
As Mousewhisker began the story, Lionblaze let out a hiss of annoyance at how the grey and white tom acted like he did it all.
This cat is almost as annoying as his brother.
“You did the right thing” Firestar meowed “We’ll find him in the morning.”

Lionblaze tossed and turned in his nest. He couldn’t stop thinking about Jayfeather.
What if something was out there? Had the fox come back?
I’ll just check on him, he thought.
He climbed out of his nest, careful not to wake Thornclaw, and he slipped out into the moonlit clearing. A shadow flitted at the corner of his vision, next to Highledge.
    Probably nothing.
He padded past Spiderleg, who was on watch.
“Where are you going?” the black warrior asked.
    “To check on Jayfeather.”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?”
“Yes! He’s my brother, he’s not going to attack me!”
“Okay, okay, keep your fur on,” Spiderleg muttered.
    I never lost it.
He bit back the sharp retort, but then as he bounded through the forest he wondered if Spiderleg was right.
Would Jayfeather attack him, he had before but that was about his stuped stick.
He began to slow as he reached the old Twoleg nest, he padded up to the entrance and stuck his head through.
“Jayfeather?” he mewed as he entered.
He looked around and saw the thrush was untouched and the bedding unused. Then he picked up Jayfeather’s scent, fresh, leading out of the den and into the forest.
Worry prickled Lionblaze’s pelt as he saw it was leading towards camp, then a screech split the silence and it was coming from camp.
    Starclan no.

  • part 4
He bounded through the forest and leapt a tree stump, he reached the camp and looked down into the stone hollow and saw cats crowded in the middle of the camp, and Jayfeather being pinned down by Birchfall and Berrynose.
Lionblaze let out a gasp of shock when he saw what was in the middle of the clearing: Firestar, body limp, blood running from a gash in his neck.
Lionblaze bounded down into the stone hollow and pushed his way through the crowd, and found Leafpool crouched over the Thunderclan leader.
Firestar’s body convulsed then his eyes opened.
    “What happened?” he croaked.
    “Jayfeather killed you,” Leafpool answered.
In an instant Firestar scrambled to his paws, and stared at Jayfeather in shock.
    “Why?”
When Jayfeather did not answer Birchfall sank his claws deeper into Jayfeather’s pelt.
    “Answer the question” he growled.
Then Jayfeather, yowling, pushing up with all his strength, knocked the two warriors off and turned, hissing, on Berrynose, clawing the Cream warrior’s face kicking out with his back paws at Birchfall who stumbled and fell. Immediately he spun around and clawed at the tabby’s throat. Berrynose lunged for him but Jayfeather rolled out the way and sprinted off through the dirt place tunnel. Shocked silence followed Jayfeather’s escape, until Brambleclaw yowled.
“After him!” then commanded, “Dustpelt you lead a patrol, Greystripe you take another, and…” Brambleclaw paused for a moment. “Brackenfur, take whoever you like … I’ll take the fourth.”

  • part 5
“Can I join your patrol?” he asked.
“I think it would be best if you guarded the camp,” Brambleclaw meowed.
“Because Jayfeather is my brother?” he hissed.
    Brambleclaw sighed, “Yes.”
    “You don’t trust me”
    “Guard the camp!”
The patrols headed out with Lionblaze, Brightheart and Whitewing left to guard the camp and Leafpool, Birchfall and Berrynose in the medicine den.
    I need to find Jayfeather.
He headed for the dirt place tunnel when Whitewing bounded up to him and blocked his way.
“And where do you think you’re going?” she asked “You’re going to look for Jayfeather aren’t you?”
“Let me through,” he growled, “I have to find my brother.”
Whitewing eyes rounded sympathetically “I know it must be…”
She broke off as Lionblaze pushed past her and leapt for the dirt place tunnel.
He charged through the forest following Jayfeather’s scent trail and stopped when he reached a clearing. He heard voices and recognising Dustpelt’s voice, he slid behind a thorn bush and scrambled out when the patrol had moved on..
He let out a hiss as the thorns clung to his fur.
Then he heard a growl and spun around and saw Jayfeather.
    “Hello Lionblaze.”
Jayfeather circled Lionblaze, menace glittering in his blind, blue eyes.
“How could you kill Firestar?” Lionblaze meowed.
“Firestar was a weak leader,” Jayfeather hissed, “my only regret is that I didn’t finish the job.”
With a yowl Lionblaze leapt at Jayfeather, knocking him over and pinning him with a paw on his throat.
    “Fox-heart!” he growled.
