Housekeeping Rules
- Include content warnings if necessary! This can be things like graphic violence, death, sexual content, etc. If you wouldn’t recommend it to a young kid without warning them what’s coming, then include content warnings!
- Try to keep non-book chatter out of this page! It can be redirected to the Tavern.
- Try to keep Warrior Cats chatter out of this page! We’re here to highlight books aside from the cats we know and love, so you can head over to the Sunning Patch or the Elder’s Den to discuss Warrior Cats!
- Fanfiction recommendations are allowed but fanfiction advertisements are not! This means that while you can recommend someone or your own fanfiction to other people, you cannot announce or remind people of a new chapter release on this page. You may do so on the Fan Fiction page.
Everyone should read what they want to read 😉

>:O HISTORICAL FICTION IS SO GOOOD but i get it, most ppl actually hate history until they find historical fiction. My recommendations: We are wolves, Waiting for the Storks and Rabbit, Soldier, Angel Thief (yes that’s one book title ahahah)
I always like a good book recommendation!! Thanks, Ambi!
Genres you like? Fantasy, action/adventure, animal stories, mystery, middle grade/young adult
Genres you don’t like? Dystopia, sci-fi, horror, drama, depressing content
Tropes you like? Friends, powerful relationships, battles against bad guys, fantastical elements, good messages
Tropes you don’t like? Slow-burn romance
Preferred paces? Not sure what this means! I like all book lengths, and don’t mind stories that stretch over a thousand pages!
Books you enjoyed in the past? So many haha Some that I like include: warrior cats, wings of fire, harry potter, percy jackson, keeper of the lost cities, everything by the erin team!
Any content to avoid? Explicit
What pace is prefered? Mentionned above (:
Anything else? Nope!! Excited to see your suggestions!
I think you’d like Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher, although there is romance, I wouldn’t consider it slow burn. It’s a bit of a mystery and a bit of a younger book although very moving and powerful. It’s also quite sad, just as a warning. It’s not very explicit although it has a fade-to-black.
check out book of the ancestor by mark lawrence!! it’s a sci-fi/historical-esque trilogy!! drama, action, friends, magic!! warning for violence c:
Genres you like? Hmmm, I like mystery, adventure, fiction…
Genres you don’t like? Sci-fi, horror
Tropes you like? Got nothing 😛
Tropes you don’t like? Got nothing 😛

Any content to avoid? Anything inappropriate

I think you’d probably like Cinderella is Dead by Kaylnn Bayron. It’s very fast-paced and is about standing up for injustice. It’s pretty adventurous! I read it really quickly.
Genres you like? Mystery, adventure, sci-fi, LGBTQ+, comedy
Genres you don’t like? Non-fiction
Tropes you like? Siblings who love/are protective of each other
Tropes you don’t like? Toxic straight couples/any couples really, too much drama, (not sure if this is a trope) huge age gaps between couples, like more than 13 years
Preferred paces? Whatever! I don’t really mind any 🙂
Books you enjoyed in the past? Kotlc, Project Nought, Thanks A Lot, Universe (+ the sequel), Fairy Tale (though I’m still reading it), Warriors, The School For Good And Evil, Heartstopper
Any content to avoid? Anything too inappropriate
Anything else? This is a cool idea! I’m excited to see what you come up with
If you like sci-fi/mystery/adventure I’d reccommend Skyward by Brandon Sanderson! It’s about a girl who desperately wants to be a pilot, on a planet where the last dregs of humanity are hiding from aliens. It has lots of mystery and cool plot twists and is generally super good fun!

What pace is prefered? Again, I don’t mind :))
Anything else? Nope, ty!
edit: woah Embix that was FAST
You are wonderful I need recs.
I like fantasy!
I’m not a huge fan of historical fiction. Or horror.
I can’t think of a particular trope I like, so long as it’s done well it’s usually fine.
THAT BEING SAID. I disliked The Red Queen since I felt like it was entirely built on tropes. It was every single dystopian romance ever written.
I enjoy fast-paced books. Slower books tend to bore me and I end up taking forever to finish them.
Six of Crows, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Percy Jackson, The Cruel Prince, The Hunger Games, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and A Darker Shade of Magic, to give a few
High spice levels. The most I’ve done was in The Cruel Prince trilogy, and I think that’s the most I can handle.
That’s the second time you’ve asked that 😛
We love and appreciate you for giving recs <3
If you like fantasy mixed with dystopia but without all of the “cliches” The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson sounds right up your street! It starts off with The Final Empire, and is about a crew who are trying to defeat the tyrannical ruler of their world- The Lord Ruler. The magic is really cool and the plot is wonderfully intricate. It also has a pretty sweet romance if you like that sort of thing!
Genres you like? Fantasy and sum times mystery
Genres you don’t like? Horror, to much romance, non-fiction
Tropes you like? Idk
Tropes you don’t like? Idk
Preferred paces? I like long books but not when they move to slowly
Books you enjoyed in the past? The hunger games, Warriors, Shadow and bone
Any content to avoid? To much romance
What pace is prefered? Same as answer five
Anything else? Thanks for any recommendations!
Genres you like? fantasy, sci fi, horror, sciencey nonfiction
Genres you don’t like? romance
Tropes you like? found families, morally grey characters
Tropes you don’t like? love triangles
Preferred paces? any!
Books you enjoyed in the past? Six of Crows, The Way of Kings, Babel, Gideon the Ninth
Any content to avoid? not fond of romance
Anything else?
omg I just recommended this to someone else but read the book of the ancestor series by mark lawrence!! it is magic ninja nuns, morally grey, action packed, not heavy leaning into romance!! big found family!!
Already read it, sadly (or happily?), but I agree it’s an awesome book! I keep meaning to go read the second one.
Did you just write the first legit comment? Cool!!
