Got a book recommendation? Looking to talk about non-Warrior Cats books? You’ve come to the right page!
Welcome to the BlogClan Bookshelf!
Here, you can talk about books that aren’t Warrior Cats! You can ask for and give recommendations on what to read! You can also talk about those books!

Housekeeping Rules
- Include content warnings if necessary! This can be things like graphic violence, death, sexual content, etc. If you wouldn’t recommend it to a young kid without warning them what’s coming, then include content warnings!
- Try to keep non-book chatter out of this page! It can be redirected to the Tavern.
- Try to keep Warrior Cats chatter out of this page! We’re here to highlight books aside from the cats we know and love, so you can head over to the Sunning Patch or the Elder’s Den to discuss Warrior Cats!
- Fanfiction recommendations are allowed but fanfiction advertisements are not! This means that while you can recommend someone or your own fanfiction to other people, you cannot announce or remind people of a new chapter release on this page. You may do so on the Fan Fiction page.
FINALLY!!!!!! I’m so happy! Also, it’s so cool how one day, other BlogClanners will look at our comments and go: wow, that was so long ago…
IKRRRRR
YOOOOOOO I ALREADY LOVE THIS PLACE ACK
My book recommendations:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins ofc (kits I’d maybe check with your parents/guardians before reading?? It’s very violent as basically everyone knows 😛 )
Scythe by Neal Schusterman (same thing, I’d definitely check with an adult if you’re a kit <3)
Matched by Ally Condie
Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger (basically everyone's read this but still 😛 )
The Spy School series by Stuart Gibbs I believe
Skandar and the Unicorn Thief by A. F. Steadman
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (definitely check with an adult before reading this, it's violent and has some language/content that might not be suitable for some kits/appendixes)
Ghost by Jason Reynolds
The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer (maaaaybe check with an adult before reading? It's not inappropriate but it is slightly violent and has a few YA jokes)
The Renegades Trilogy by Marissa Meyer (same thing–it's not inappropriate but it has some violence/YA content so I'd still check)
City Spies by James Ponti
The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer I think?
The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, truly one of the best books ever but it does have minor violence and the occasional dirty joke (the Hoover Dam, anyone? 😛 )
Wings of Fire by Tui Sutherland ofc (for those of you who haven't read it, it has minor violence but if you've read Warriors you'll be fine 😛 )
…And a lot more that I can't think of at the moment haha! But let me know if you try any of these books and like them 😀
Oh we love the dam jokes at my house. PERCYBETH FOREVAAHHHH heheh I love those two
I love the Lunar Chronicles. I started reading Percy Jackson, but I quit because I didn’t like it :/
ayy
i love the joe grey cat series
Has anyone else read Ready Player 1 (and also Ready Player 2)?
IM DYING TO TALK ABOUT ITTTTTT
Birch edit: RP1 at least is definitely for older teens! It’s got some mature themes and swearing iirc
My library doesn’t have it, but I’ve been trying to hunt it down for ages. I enjoyed the film that came out some time ago, so I’ve definitely been wanting to read the book.
THIS IS WHERE I BELONG, AMAZING PAGE!😍
funny there’s this new page as soon as i ask for recommendations on books in the tavern 😂
questions for teens that like mystery and action, what books do you recommend?
It’s been asked for for a while 😛 I just only got around to it now!
I recommend Children of the Fox! It’s a really exciting book :DD
I’d check out the Spy School series by Stuart Gibbs! ^^
The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It’s a fast-paced mystery trilogy. I love it, it really got me thinking and the plot kept me hooked all the way through. There is some romance, but it isn’t the main focus. Warning: there is some some minor cursing, but it’s no worse than a marvel movie, or something along those lines. The third book has some slightly more mature themes, but I read it when I was 13 and it was fine.
12th comment (not counting replies) 😛 uh lemme read the article! and I’ll continue this comment!
~ 5 minutes later ~
WINGS OF FIRE??
HUNGER GAMES??
THE POWER OF POPPY PENDLE??
UHHH
Hey, hey, hey, person- er, cat- from late 2024 and beyond. Comment here about something! we are connecting from years beyond!! either your name, or maybe something new that wasn’t here in February 2024!! Very special if you find this comment on page 413 >:D
what about page 413?
idk some random number
nurrrrrr my comment is on page 2 😭😭😭😭
hewo :3 not from page 413 tho lol, it’ll be a while before we get there 😛 (currently on page 24)
hey hey guys just gonna recommend fahrenheit 451 to literally everyone because it changed my life
it’s definitely more mature and has some dark themes, i don’t recall anything inappropriate but just a heads up haha
short summary for anyone interested, it’s set in a dystopian world in which books are banned+burned and the writing that does exist is heavily distorted and inaccurate, and technology rules over (and brainwashes) everyone (sorry if that was a trash summary i honestly haven’t read this book since 8th grade when it was a school assignment oops)
I recommend the ‘Land of stories!’ Its really exciting!
I’ve read that! I loved it, and I’m currently rereading the first book
We recommended the same thing!!!!
*clears throat*
HARRY POTTER AND WINGS OF FIRE FANS, TO ME!
WINGS OF FIRE FAN, REPORTING FOR DUTY
Has anyone read Temeraire yet? It’s one of the MOST underrated books imo, and I don’t recall anyone but Redblaze reading it, so yeah, you should definitely try this book.
It’s a nine-book series, and it’s about a British navy officer getting a dragon’s egg during the Napoleon War and moving to the Aerial Corps (basically the dragon version of the air force) to fight against France with his newly aquired dragon, whom he decided to call Temeraire after one of the French ships he captured. Unlike most historical fantasy novels where men are mostly leading, I really enjoyed how there were many strong women in the book, and they absolutely slayed! Plus, I love the idea of having dragons in the millitary instead of planes, and how the dragons all have unique personalities. Although it sometimes has blog-inappropiate themes and political matters that might be hard for young readers to understand, it’s an engaging story about dragons and I strongly recommend it to older teens or young adults 😀
That sounds so cool, i’ll ned to find it at my library 😀
Temeraire is great, it was a really fun take on dragon riding!
if you like dragon rider books I’d like to reccommend another very underrated one! Ascendant by Michael R Miller is about boy who rescues a blind dragon and ends up having to join the fight against the Scourge which is attacking the kingdom. That’s pretty simplifed but it also has a really fun take on dragon riding and magic!
hi, i just wanted to say for people that like mystery and action (like me) i highly recommend Young Sherlock Holmes by Andrew Lane. there are 8 books in the series, it is a young adult book, and i read them at age 13/14.
oooh new page!
is great gaatby good btw?
I read the first 20 or so pages and I watched the movie and based off of that, I enjoyed it! I think it’s a bit hard to follow and there’s only 2 likeable characters but apart of that it was great 🙂
I saw the first 45 minutes of the film, but I guess it was alright. I can’t say that I’m the one you should listen to, though, because I strictly paid attention to the memes 😛
