The Secret in Shadows
Darkmist is ShadowClan’s newest warrior. She hopes to impress her mother, Blackleaf. While on a patrol, she meets a rogue named Icy. Icy accidentally asks how she is coping since the massacre. She didn’t know about any massacre. Was that something that could lead to a confession that can ruin the Clan forever? Find out in The Secret in Shadows.
Prologue:
“What happened?” a white she-cat rasped.
“I don’t know, Icepelt. Something died in the territory. Should we let Toadstar know?” a brown tabby tom replied. The two cats had come from RiverClan to speak with Toadstar about scents across the border. They had never expected to find this.
“I think I found him…..,” Icepelt whispered as she stood over a mottled brown body. The leader was dead! Blood ran through a gash in his throat. Milkpelt’s delicate paws had turned bright red from the dead leader.
“There’s more!” the brown tabby screeched. Ten cats had died! All ShadowClan cats too! They were able to recognize them too! Dawnsplash, the medicine cat was nearby with gashes galore. She was next to Mudnose. Blossomtail, Russetstorm, Redpaw, Morningpetal, Oatstripe, Mallowpelt, and a black she-cat who was unrecognizable with all of the scars.
“Is that Blackleaf?” the brown tabby whispered.
“No, it’s her sister, Ravenflower,” Icepelt mewed. Ravenflower and Blackleaf were identical. Sometimes the Clan would mix up the two. Blackleaf had been expecting Russetstorm’s kits, so she hoped it was Ravenflower who had died.
“Blackleaf? Are you there?” the brown tabby yowled. A sleek black figure slipped through the ferns. It was Blackleaf! It had to be. Her eyes grew wide with horror. She began to weave around the dead cats.
“Did you do this?” She hissed. The brown tabby glared at her and lashed his tail.
“No, we just came to ask about scent lines….and we never expected to see this! Blackleaf, we found Ravenflower and she died along with Russetstorm!” Icepelt replied. Blackleaf narrowed her eyes in confusion. She sniffed Ravenflower’s body and thought for several heartbeats.
“That’s a shame. Poor, Ravenflower. These cats will be missed,” Blackleaf whispered with grief. A tear rushed down her cheek.
“At least you have a kit to look after,” Icepelt added. Blackleaf nodded. She blinked a tear.
“I can’t be Clan cat anymore. This is not what I should have to live to see,” Icepelt muttered. Blackleaf looked up in surprise. Her green eyes flashed with curiosity. Icepelt needed a rogue name. Maybe Ice or Chilly or……ICY!
“Call me Icy and tell my Clan I died,” Icy meowed as she left the scene. Hopefully, this is the end of it.
There was some story that I loved… I’ve decided to start a seperate series with the story kinda like it, just a little since I don’t really want to clone it. I didn’t realize I could make a new folder earlier so I can keep what I wrote there, and bah, this is short as always. I’m not good at prolouges.
Series : Age of Darkness
Book One : The Silent Season
Prolouge
Scarlet fire swiftly split through the raging forest as luminous lightning striked a dark viridian tree. Shrieks, yowls, and hisses was as loud as the lightning that striked nearby. Pools of blood lay on the flattend grass, as the raging cats fought to death, one by one.
“No… this did not have to happen! The Tribe of Eternal Stars has truly abandoned us… just like what Bramble said…” said a young very pale gray, nearly white she-cat with black tabby stripes who stood behind a ancient rat-gray boulder that had many cracks and splittings.
I can’t help them… Spike crippled my leg three dawns ago… Minute by minutes, hoarse yowls would rise, meaning the death of a cat. This… this could even cause the end of the…
Suddenly, a massive black tom with amber eyes was sprinting towards the pale she-cat. Panicking, she swiftly hid behind a bush, to see that the black tom had killed a sandy ginger she-cat that was in front of the boulder. Horrified, the she-cat let out a silent wail.
There was always a short amount of cats… for only this war is fought to determine if my side should be trusted or not… as Horse was a spy for them, and one spy could just ruin everything… The gray she-cat continuously looked around to detect any sounds, scents, or trace of a enemy.
If they wake up old Yuugutsi, then this is the end… she will bring forward her own army to snatch lives away… As much as the she-cat wanted to step out of her hiding place to join the fight, she knew that if she came out, she would be instantly killed, unless she does not fail her main death-blow technique.
I will only risk myself if the Tribe of the Northern Wind cats have decided to carelessly be close to Yuugutsi… but this oppression should have never happend! Moonlight’s ancient sacrifice would have been for nothing if everything ends here!
Glancing again, the she-cat saw a small light brown tabby she-cat sprinted towards Yuugutsi’s direction. Just as I had predicted… I will have to abandon them… for something that has a rare chance of working… The gray she-cat dragged herself towards the stone path, trying to not hurt her left crippled leg much. I must be faster! I can’t let it end here!
Although she felt much more pain, she was gradually gaining speed, passing through clumps of blood-stained grass. Once she catched up to the light brown tabby, who was held off by a yellow tabby tom earlier, she summoned all of her strength, every scrap, and then she threw herself onto the light brown she-cat. Pain splashed through her leg, nearly making the pale she-cat yowl in pain.
The light brown she-cat turned, hissing fiercely, and sliced the pale gray she-cat’s throat. I knew this was going to happen… With her last breaths, the very pale gray she-cat with black tabby stripes lifted a paw, and quickly slashed the light brown she-cat’s belly, who thrashed, yowled, and then collapsed, weakly. The pale gray she-cat also collapsed, her vision clouding, everything becoming fuzzy, and blurry.
I may have stopped her, but there might be another cat going after Yuugutsi… but this wouldn’t end this unnecessary war that might cause the end of the tribes… farewell, everyone…
Wow! That was so cool!

Blizzard twitched her tail irritably as a black and white tom with holly-green eyes was meowing to her. When she and her sister were born, their mother had died. Later, when they were five moons old, their father had died, proctecting them. Now, her sister disappeared one day, never appearing again. Not a single scent trail. Now, Blizzard was stuck with the black and white tom.
She lived her life as a loner for nine moons, in a tree hollow near a abandoned twoleg house, where the young black and white cat lived in. He was only six moons younger than Blizzard.
The cranky white long-haired she-cat would have a weird dream each moon, where she could just hear a whisper. Whenever she needed an answer, there would almost always be a whisper, a whisper that felt like a cat was talking to her, not her mind, and whenever she looked, there was no cat.
“And then, this old cat – I mean Jackie, she came, showing me a weird fruit-” Blizzard flicked her ear, and then interrupted, “I’m pretty sure she was trying to be kind to you, Shade.” Shade half-closed his eyes, annoyed. “You know nothing about her!”
“And yet, I do know she is a she-cat.”
“Other than that, stupid!”
“Whatever. I know that she is a kittypet.”
“Oh, shut up!”
“I’m pretty sure you meant, ‘up shut, oh!’.”
“You make no sense.”
“Nor do you.”
“I’ll squirt that green thingy, so its juice will fall-”
“‘Kay, I will make you smell that white thing.”
“Nope. I will even go to the garden to get the worst if possible.”
“Okay, good luck on getting your collar.”
Shade stood up, sighing. “I guess there is no way to beat it. I’m going to visit Jackie to ask her about that fruit she had, or atleast I think it is a fruit.” Blizzard curled her tail around her paws. “Don’t let her break the nutshell in front of your eyes.” She meowed when Shade was leaving.
Heh, he will let the mouse out of his paw when he sees Hiku and Dust. Blizzard thought, drowsily. Then he is going to tell them if he meets them if they tell it to me and I ask them if it is true, they should say that a little grasshopper told them… and then there is a strike on the plum. Blizzard thought as she curled down to sleep.
~Dream~
Blizzard was dreaming. She was running endlessly through the thick fog that rolled over like a playful kit. Not this dream again… Blizzard thought, and then stopped as she suddenly saw a very faint outline, barely seen in the thick fog. “…”
Suddenly, the outline faded, and when Blizzard blinked, a big gray and silver long-haired fox leapt at her, out of nowhere, and then with a blinding flash, she was now awake, at late night.
Well, Shade’s going to be popping the corn here, as long as he thinks I’m asleep. Blizzard sighed, trying to stand up, but her legs were numb. Whatever.

Short as always… but anyway, it takes
place in a rural area.
Nice! A little confusing but it was great ๐
CHAPTER 1 OF FORESTCLANS FATE THE STORY SOME WARRIORS ON HERE ARE IN
As Mossball and the newly named wrenstar padded into camp mapleheart and lupintail approached ” did starclan accept you?” Mapleheart asked ” are you now wrenstar?” Lupintail added, ” yes ” wrenstar purred ” I am now wrenstar” she said before jumping onto the high rock ” all cats old enough to catch your own prey, gather beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!” She yowled and cats appeared from there dens, Maplepaw, Mossballs apprentice padded up beside her ” it went okay?” She asked and Mossball nodded. she heard mews of protest as Fleckkit tried to leave the nursery ” but I want to see!” She complained ” you can watch from here” her mother, russetfeather replied sternly. Fleckkits complaints fell silent as wrenstar started to speak. ” I have traveled to the moon cave and starclan has accepted me as your leader” wrenstar said and congratulations rippled around the clearing ” it is now time for me to choose a deputy” the clan fell silent ” Wavesplash, you have been a loyal member of this clan for many moons and if you accept would like to make you deputy” the silver she cat looked shocked ” thank you wrenstar” she stammered ” I accept” cheers and congratulations filled the clearing. Sunblaze and his apprentice Luckypaw approached ” congratulations!” Sunblaze purred and wavesplash Smiled. Rosefur and her apprentice gladepaw also approached ” I had a feeling she would choose you” Rosefur said and gladepaw bounced around happily. ” would you like to come on the dawn patrol?” Wavesplash addressed the four cats seeing the sun peak over the trees ” alright” sunblaze nodded and they padded out of the camp. Fleckkit managed to escape russetfeather and ran out after the dawn patrol, Mossball stopped her, ” you’ll be an apprentice soon enough then you can go” she said as Fleckkit complained ” why don’t you go ask frost eye for a story?” She suggested ” good idea!” Fleckkit said running off towards the elders den ” thank you Mossball” russetfeather purred approaching and she nodded in reply ” she’s so adventurous ” russetfeather purred ” she’ll make a great warrior” Mossball replied. Mossball walked into the medicine den and saw Maplepaw sorting through herbs ” do we need anything?” She asked ” we’re a bit low on catmint and with leaf fall coming we should probably get some more” maplepaw replied and Mossball nodded ” we’ll go when the dawn patrol get back” she said just as juniperberry came in limping, ” what happened this time?” Mossball sighed, ” I stepped on a bramblebush while hunting ” he grumbled ” Maplepaw can you get the thorn out?” She asked and she nodded coming over while Mossball chewed up some dock as maplepaw pulled out the thorn she put it on his paw ” there ” she said ” you really need to watch were your going juniperberry ” she purred ” I know” he replied ” thanks ” he said as he padded out. ” go play with your friends” Mossball said to Maplepaw as they padded out of the den and Mossball laid down on a patch off moss. She watched the clan thinking about how happy everyone was when a leaf landed in front of her. It was black and after a second of it being on the ground it crumbled to ash. She looked up, puzzled and saw that the leaves ubove her were normal, just turning gold and orange. She looked down again, thinking about what it could mean when gladepaw ran into the camp eyes wide and fur on end. ” what happened?!” Wrenstar said approaching the apprentice ” we were b..by the plainclan b..border and t..there are t..t..three b..badgers t..there! R..Rosefur sent me b..back for help, l..Luckypaw is b..badly injured ” shocked murmurs rushed around the clan ” mapleheart! Lupintail! Juniperberry! Come with me to the border!” Everyone else be prepared! The Badgers might come here!” Wrenstar yowled before running out of camp, the Warriors she called running after her.

Thats really good, Mossball! Maybe next time leave spaces to separate the text into sections, so that it looks more appealing to read. That’s all!

Life In BlogClan Chapter 16 (More DRAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ๐ )
Owlwater woke up to see Maplepool snuggled up next to him. At first he was suprised, but then he warmed by it. He shook his head. I canโt have a crush on Maplepool! What would Eagleclaw do?! What would Emberfang think?! Erโฆ. I guess itโs fine for nowโฆโฆ Maplepool woke up. โEep! Ah! Sorry Owlwater..Iโฆโ She stuttered.
โItโs fineโฆโ Owlwater he said. He licked Maplepoolโs ear. Maplepool was suprised and blushed. She nosed Owlwaterโs cheek. โEr letโs eatโฆ..โ Meowed Owlwater, embarassed, wondering if rumors had spread about him and Maplepool. He shrugged it off and got up. Maplepool got up after him tiredly and yawned.
They padded out of the warriors den together, tails slightly twined. Flarespark giggled at them. Maplepool smiled awkwardly at her older sister, blushing. Emberfang stared at them solemnly. Maplepool pressed closer to Owlwater. Shy and scared of cats watching. Owlwater nosed her ear. โItโs fine. Theyโre just suprised.โ Owlwater mewed to her.
Maplepool took a vole from the fresh-kill pile and Owlwater took shrew. The laid down next to each other by Wavesplash and Stormy Sea. Wavesplash quietly whispered something in Stormy Seaโs ear. Stormy Sea looked suprised but smiled. Maplepool noticed that Wavesplash and Stormy Sea had connection. Most cats thought they were mates. Stormy and Wavesplash padded over to Cakestarโs Den together chatting.
โBlogClan! Wavesplash will be moving to the nurseryโ Cakestar announced happily. She was excited for more kits in the Clan.
The clan was cheerful that day. โI bet Maplepool will be next.โ Giggled Liontail in Flaresparkโs ear. Flarespark laughed at her sisterโs remark about their younger sibling. Maplepool looked cheerfully at her former mentor. Wavesplash grinned back to the young ginger she-cat as she padded over to the nursery.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
The camp had been quiet the past few days. Emberfang wouldnโt talk to Maplepool. Maplepool sadly looked at her brother as he talked with Iceshard. โI guess to the clan weโre mates now.โ Owlwater laughed softly as he laid beside Maplepool. โWho says we arenโt mouse-brain?โ Maplepool giggled batting the yellow tom playfully on the ear. โI guess we are then.โ Owlwater laughed to his new mate.
Wavesplash rested outside the nursery, excited for her kits. Stormy Sea ambled over to his mate. โWhat are you thinking for names?โ He mewed cheerfully to the silver she-cat. โWell, we could give one a tribe name like yoursโฆโฆ.Maybe Gray Bird? Or Silver Ocean?โ Wavesplash recited. โI like Silver Ocean. And maybe Shadowkit or Softkit?โ Stormy Sea purred.
โWinterbreeze! We need to stock up on blessed thistle, borage, chamonile, chervil, dandelion, grass, iris, ivy, lambโs ear, lotus, narcissus, raspberry, water mint, and windflower. Could you go out and look for those herbs?โ Kat yowled to the black and white tom. Winterbreeze nodded but said nothing. He walked out of the medicine den and was on his way.
Kat watched as he left. If only he knew who his parents wereโฆ.. she thought. She knew exactly who his parents were. In factโฆ.she was one of them. Winterbreezeโs father was Shriekstar of YoutubeClanโs brotherโฆ..Screechingbreeze. A black tom with white splashes. Winterbreeze reminded her so much of Screechingbreeze, it made Katโs heart shatter whenever she looked at Winterbreeze.
She knew she couldnโt tell him. He would probably step down from place as medicine cat, or pull a Hollyleaf and tell all the clans! Kat usually had to push those thoughts to the back of her mind and pretend it never happened. Even though it did.
Winterbreeze came back with the fowl tasting herbs in his mouth. The blessed thistle, lotus, and irisโs colors stood out among the other green herbs. The lambโs ear felt soft in his mouth. He ran over to the medicine den to see Kat sorting herbs. โKat! Iโm back!โ He mewed through the huge bundle of herbs in his mouth. โOh! Hello Winterpa-breeze!โ Kat mewed. She couldnโt believe Winterbreeze had his name already!
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ-
Maplepool yawned. Morningโฆ..finallyโฆ She pondered to herself. She slowly got up, weary from last nightโs meeting with Kat. She padded outside shyly. She looked over to see Emberfang looking at her angrily.(I drew this scene. Ember looked like a grumpy Jayfeather ๐ ) It saddened her to see that, she hoped her news would cheer him up. โOwlwater! Come here!โ Maplepool called to the tom. Owlwater got up and raced over. โWhat do you need?โ He mewed curiously. โSo I went to see Kat last nightโฆโ Started Maplepool. โAre you sick?โ Fretted Owlwater. โNo, not exactly Owlwater. She said that I was expecting your kits!โ Maplepool Exclaimed cheerfully to the yellow furred tom. Owlwater licked her face happily. โLetโs go tell Cakestar. You can talk to Wavesplash about you twoโs kits.
โBlogClan! We have another queen for the nursery! Maplepool!โ Cheered Cakestar from the high-log. Emberfang looked even more annoyed now. However a spark of anxiety flashed in his eye for a second. Cakestar leaped down from the log and went to the fresh-kill pile.
Russetfeather licked her daughters ear. โIโm so proud of you Maplepool.โ She mewed to the fluffy she-cat.โThanks,โ Maplepool whispered back softly. But there was someone missingโฆโฆ..Emberfang.
A few sunrises had passed and Emberfang wouldnโt even make eye contact with Maplepool. โWAVESPLASH IS KITTING!โ Goldenstreak sqeaked loudly. Kat twitched her ears at the call. โWinterbreeze! Gather blessed thistle, borage, chamonile, chervil, dandelion, grass, iris, ivy, lambโs ear, lotus, narcissus, raspberry, water mint, and windflower for Wavesplash!โ She mewed sharply. Stormy Sea ran over to Kat. โIs there anything I can do?โ He meowed to the medicine cat hopefully. โGo comfort Wavesplash.โ Ordered Kat to the blue-grey tom. Stormy Sea nodded and dashed over to the nursery.
โThree she-kits and a tom!โ Exclaimed Stormy Sea happily to the clan. He quickly dissapeared back into the nursery.
โWhat should we name them?โ Wavesplash meowed. โWell, for the dappled tortioseshell she-kit how about Dapple Shell? And for the fluffy blue-grey she-kit Oceankit?โ Stormy Sea mewed back. โPerfect. How about for the silver tabby she-kit, Greykit, and for the grey and white tom.., Stormy Night. After you.โ Purred Wavesplash. โGreat. Dapple Shell, Oceankit, Greykit, and Stormy Night.โ Stormy Sea repeated. He tapped each one lightly with his tail as he said their name. He slowly made his way out o the nursery to tell the clan what the kitsโ names are.
โDAPPLE SHELL! OCEANKT! STORMY NIGHT! GREYKIT!โ The clan cheered happily for the kits.
Flowerstream and Mistleheart quietly padded into the nursery to see the kits.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ-
Maplepool padded out to her brother, wondering if she could rekind friendship with him. Emberfang made an irritated face at her and scooted away. Maplepool looked saddened at his outrageous act. She forced down a hiss and growl at him. โEm-Emberfang?โ She asked. โWhat do you want?โ He spat. Maplepool was taken aback from his fierce tone of voice. โMay I speak with y-you?โ Asked Maplepool, her fur bristled a bit on her shoulders. โWhatever. By nursery.โ Emberfang mewed fiercely.
โWhy are you so mad at me? Your are ignoring me, not caring, you canโt even look me in the eye!โ Maplepool hissed to her brother. โWhy-Wh-Why?! Why?! Really?โ Emberfang forced down laugh. โI thought we were close! But apparently not! You ditched me for a mate! One of my greatest friends! Owlwater! Dragging him away from me!โ hissed Emberfang.
โI didnโt know. I-Iโm so-sorry. Please forgive me.โ Maplepool started. โYeah right!โ Emberfang growled and scratched Maplepoolโs shoulder. Maplepool let out a squeak of pain. โIโm really sorry Emberfang! What can I do! Please donโt take it out on my kits! I never meant to do anything!โ cried Maplepool. Emberfang hissed again, thihs time he scratched down her flank and clawed up her tail. Maplepool let out shrieks and screeches of agony and pain. Blood poured from the deep wounds. Owlwater, Winterbreeze, and Kat came gliding over when they heard Maplepoolโs cries. Winterbreeze grabbed Emberfang by the scruff and pulled him away. Emberfang broke out of what he did and shook his head. He had just attacked a helpless, defenseless, innocent queen. And that queen was his sister.
โWinterbreeze! Maplepool is kitting! Get blessed thistle, borage, chamonile, chervil, dandelion, grass, iris, ivy, lambโs ear, lotus, narcissus, raspberry, water mint, windflower, and cobwebs. Bring extra iris and raspberries!โ Kat yowled. Emberfang thought about what he had just done. He mightโve just killed his sister, or her kits, maybe both. He couldnโt let this happen. He raced over to Maplepool. There was a pool of blood surronding her. He held back tears. What did I do?! He yelled in his mind at the mess.
Winterbreeze came back with many, many herbs. Emberfang nudged some raspberries and iris toward Maplepool. โEat these, please. Donโt die on me Maplepool. Your strong enough for thisโฆ.โ He mewed, a tear falling down his whisker. Maplepool slowly swallowed the herbs. She let out a screech of pain. Kat shoved cobwebs in Maplepoolโs wounds. A little kit plopped down by Maplepool. Emberfang licked it quickly. It was a golden tabbyโฆ.tom! โItโs a tom!โ He exclaimed and nudged the little kit by Maplepool. โHe looks like you Owlwater.โ Remarked Emberfang. Owlwater nudged more herbs forward. โEat these now.โ He ordered Maplepool. She nibbled them up and shrieked again. This time, it was a ginger tabby with snow-white paws, muzzle, and a fluffy white chest. It was aโฆShe-kit! โItโs a she-kit!โ Purred Owlwater, nudging the ginger she-kit to Maplepool. โThatโs it Maplepool. A healthy litter of a tom and she-kit.โ Kat mewed happily.
โTheyโre beautifulโฆ..โ Maplepool breathed. โWhat will you name them?โ Asked Emberfang softly. โHow about Sunkit for the golden tom.โ Owlwater mewed. โEmberfang, do you want to name the she-kit?โ Maplepool asked the silver tabby. โReally? After what I did to you?โ Emberfang retorted. โOf course, your still my brother. And you saved me.โ Maplepool purred. โOkay, um. Syrupkit? For Maple Syrup?โ Emberfang mewed. โI love it. Syrupkit and Sunkit.โ Purred Owlwater. โMe too.โ Maplepool meowed. โLetโs get back to camp. I can carry Syrupkit.โ Emberfang offered. โOk, Iโll carry Sunkit.โ Owlwater mewed and they all padded off.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Russetfeather looked at her grand-kits. โTheyโre adorable!โ She squealed. Eagleclaw nosed Syrupkit and touched Sunkit with his tail lightly. โAnd hey have beautiful, matching names.โ He purred.
Kat padded in. โVisiting times are over. The queens need sleep.โ She mewed. Russetfeather and Eagleclaw got up. โTheyโre perfect Maplepool.โ Russetfeather mewed and padded out of the den.

RISE OF THE CLANS #1: SCARLET MONSOON
CHAPTER 7
โThereโs no sign of the dogs along the Thunderpath border,โ Gorse Fur reported, obediently to his mate and leader.
Windstar, shaking her head, began, โWeโve searched every blade of grass.โ The wiry brown she-cat paused for a couple of heartbeats, going into deep thought. A gentle breeze brushed through the sandy hollow camp as Windstar meowed, โBut we havenโt looked outside our borders.โ Windstarโs ears perked up, and her yellow eyes brightened. โThat must be where they are.โ
โOutside?โ the thin, gray tabby tom murmured. โIs that wise? We donโt know what weโll find.โ
โIf the dogs were able to murder Jagged Peak and escape so easily. They have to be close to our borders. And it doesnโt where they are โ I made a vow to stop the dogs from killing more WindClan cats,โ Windstar growled. โTake some cats and search beyond the farm border.โ She intrusted Gorse Fur with a commanding dart of her tail.
โYes, Windstar.โ
Gorse Fur bowed his head. After he turned away from Windstar, Silver Stripe could see the senior tomโs eyes scanning around camp, searching for cats to join the search patrol. As it was nearing sunhigh, there wasnโt many cats left in camp. The majority were out hunting or searching for the dogs that had disrupted WindClan life. Only Windstar, Gorse Fur, Moth Flight, Silver Stripe, White Tail, Fern Leaf, Eagle Feather, Storm Pelt, Holly, Heather Tuft, and Stone Gaze remained in camp.
Four sunrises had passed since Silver Stripe had taken Skystar to Jagged Peakโs grave. Since that moment, she still felt just as determined to avenge Jagged Peakโs death, but she wasnโt surprised to find some cats beginning to give up hope of finding the murderous dogs. She and every WindClan cat had been continuously searching for any clues of the dogsโ whereabouts, but nothing had come up just yet. In a way this had lifted the fear from WindClan, though there was still a great fear that the dogs could strike at any moment, replicating what had happened to Jagged Peak.
Cats were unnerved, with some more worried than others. Silver Stripeโs brother, White Tail, sat alongside her. Earlier they had hunted together, and it was easy for Silver Stripe to notice how White Tailโs fur would bristle at any mention of the dogs or any sudden noises. She just hoped that if he came muzzle to muzzle with one of the dogs, he wouldnโt hesitant.
โSilver Stripe,โ Gorse Furโs meow broke her thoughts, โyou can join the patrol.โ
โSure,โ she casually replied. Silver Stripe wasnโt even sure that they would find any trace of the dogs. Like the storm that had arrived and left so quickly, it seemed as though the dogs had also vanished. She hadnโt seen too many dogs before, but Silver Stripe was worried about the further damage Jagged Peakโs killers could inflict on her Clan. And despite wanting to avenge Jagged Peakโs death, she sensed it would be better for WindClan if the wild beasts stayed gone.
โFern Leaf,โ Gorse Fur pointed his long tail toward a lean-muscled, black she-cat with green eyes, whose pelt was heavily scarred, โyou know more about the dogs than any WindClan cat. Your experience will be useful if we find the dogs.โ
The knowledgeable black she-cat rose from her sitting position, nodding her head in acceptance.
โAnd…โ Gorse Fur turned his head around the sandy hollow. โStorm Pelt,โ Gorse Fur was cautiously glancing toward a mottled gray tom with a thick tail, โwould you like to come?โ
All of WindClan had acted tentatively around Jagged Peakโs grieving family ever since his death. Little words of sympathy โ they knew โ couldnโt bring him back.
Holly, since Moth Flightโs persuasion, had remained close to her kits, refusing to let them out of her sight. Their kits, Heather Tuft and Stone Gaze, had lost their playful exuberance, preferring to stay in the sheltered nursery with their mother, who would always keep a close eye on them. Silver Stripe remembered how the kits had always been irritating all the older cats by swiping at their tails, but that hadnโt happened since; Silver Stripe couldnโt even recall seeing them outside of the nursery since they saw their fatherโs deformed body.
Eagle Feather had kept to himself since Skystarโs visit, but it had made every cat wary of approaching him; they werenโt sure how he might react. In comparison, his littermates, Dew Nose and Storm Pelt, carried on hunting for the Clan, unwilling to let their fatherโs death side-track their lives as it had done for the rest of their family. Even though, Dew Nose and Storm Pelt would politely decline joining any search patrols. Silver Stripe was sure, as the rest of the Clan were, that they feared facing the terrifying creatures that had disfigured their father.
Now, Gorse Fur waited for Storm Peltโs response. The mottled gray tomโs blue eyes looked up, readying to give his answer, but Eagle Featherโs voice, from Storm Peltโs flank, interrupted him.
โStorm Pelt doesnโt want to go,โ the broad-shouldered brown tom began in a harsh growl. โIf Windstar thinks thatโs where the dogs are most likely to be, Iโll gladly come along in his place.โ Eagle Featherโs claws unsheathed, marking the sandy hollow floor. โI canโt wait to rake my claws across their hare-brained muzzles.โ
Silver Stripe was shocked at Eagle Featherโs attitude. He sounds crazy! Looking across the clearing toward Gorse Fur, she saw a similar shocked expression etched across his face. The senior tom paused, unsure of how to respond to Eagle Featherโs vengeful request.
โStorm Pelt,โ Windstar interjected from atop Tallrock, โwhat is your answer?โ
There was brief silence, whilst Storm Pelt thought about his answer, though Silver Stripe could hear Eagle Featherโs intense breathing from tail-lengths away. Silver Stripe could also see Eagle Featherโs hackles beginning to stand on edge as his yellow eyes filled with indignation. She realised White Tail had picked up on the tension as the dark gray tom with white patches twitched nervously beside her, his tail lightly brushing against the ground.
Lifting his head, the lithe, thick-furred mottled gray tom answered, โIโll go.โ Storm Peltโs blue eyes shone with determination. โIโd like to help avenge my fatherโs death.โ
โFine,โ Eagle Feather hissed. โIโll come too, then. Youโll need all the help you can get,โ the brown tom hastily presumed.
โNo,โ Windstar ordered, โIโll need you and White Tail to help me guard the camp.โ
โYou canโt be serious? I need to be out there,โ Eagle Feather pointed his tail beyond the campโs gorse wall, โdoing something useful. Youโre preventing me from avenging my father! First, you supported Skystar, embarrassing me in front of the entire Clan! That fox-heart is a leader of a rival Clan, no less! And now, youโre stopping me from finding the dogs!โ Eagle Featherโs meowed had transformed into a rage-filled snarl.
Silver Stripe was relieved that Storm Pelt was coming instead of Eagle Feather. Storm Pelt would be better under pressure than Eagle Feather, who looked like he wanted to find every single dog in the world and blame it for his fatherโs death.
Windstar remained on the Tallrock, standing ominously still, muscles rippling. Wisps of sunlight glittered around the edges of her pelt. Silver Stripe thought that Windstar was about to growl something at Eagle Feather, but she was surprised by what she heard.
โI donโt blame you for wanting to avenge Jagged Peakโs death. I and every other WindClan cat wants the same, but we need strong cats to protect the camp. How would Jagged Peak, or you feel, if something happened to Heather Tuft and Stone Gaze?โ
An ominous silence lasted for a dozen heartbeats. The only noise was White Tailโs paws scuffling against the sand. Shocked, Silver Stripe eyed Eagle Feather bow his head in realisation. โYouโre right,โ he rasped softly. โIโll make sure that the dogs canโt destroy any more of my family.โ
Windstarโs gaze turned toward her mate, Gorse Fur. โGood luck.โ
โHave fun defending the camp,โ Silver Stripe teased, flicking her tail over White Tailโs ear.
She felt guilty as White Tail sighed, โIโll try.โ
Before Silver Stripe could apologise or find out if anything other than the dogs was bothering him, Gorse Furโs call reminded her of her duty to WindClan, โSilver Stripe, weโre leaving.โ
Padding forward to file in behind the other members of the search patrol, she risked a glance over her shoulder toward White Tail. He was talking to Windstar and Eagle Feather, tail drooping along the floor, brushing patches of sand as it did so. Silver Stripe hoped that her brother would become more confident and less nervous soon. I might have to talk to Black Ear, and see what we can come up with to help him get more confidence. Making her way through the gorse tunnel, a spiking piece of gorse made her shudder. I donโt know how he would cope without us.
Exiting the gorse tunnel, she was startled to see Storm Pelt. โI thought Iโd wait for you,โ he bluntly stated. โGorse Fur and Fern Leaf have gone on ahead.โ Silver Stripe was disappointed to not hear any of his old friendliness, which had been hard to come by since his fatherโs death. โWeโll catch them if weโre quick,โ he continued swiftly.
Trying not to sound too disheartened, Silver Stripe replied, โGotcha.โ As she followed Storm Pelt out onto the rolling moors, where light blue skies swam above.
It hadnโt taken long for Silver Stripe and Storm Pelt to catch up with Gorse Fur and Fern Leaf. Silver Stripe was at least happy to feel bands of breeze brush her fur and sunlight warm her pelt. For some reason, the air felt sticky, as though it was holding something in, and had clutched at their pelts as they headed toward the border. But looking around, Silver Stripe dared to ignore it.
Nervousness had kept them in hushed silence. Now, standing at the border, the unknown stretched out before them.
Gorse Furโs experienced gaze was sweeping over them. โWe donโt know whatโs out there.โ His lithe gray tail flicked in the boundaryโs direction, reinforcing his point. โAnd for that reason. We have to remain careful, and I need all of you to do just as I say. If I say run, you run.โ Gorse Furโs eyes clouded over for the smallest heartbeat, but then his voice continued with the same composed meow, โWindClan doesnโt want to lose any more cats, which means no heroics. If we do find the dogs, weโll go immediately back to camp and tell Windstar.โ
Silver Stripe found herself nodding, Fern Leaf and Storm Pelt did the same.
โAny questions?โ Gorse Fur enquired, pausing. As there was no response, he meowed, โCome on.โ
Crossing the border, Silver Stripe felt the grass beginning to crawl up her legs, making her feel uncomfortable. Gradually the undergrowth grew until trees marked the start of a forest. Just before entering the trees, she spotted the farm that ran close to WindClanโs borders. I wonder if any cats or prey are there? Quickly her attention changed to dodging long vines, which lashed around in front of her.
The overarching trees blocked out the sunโs rays and cancelled the air flow, as they went deeper into the forestโs interior. Thick undergrowth was now worming up her legs. Silver Stripe felt like the deeper they went, the worse the undergrowth got. In front of her, she could see Gorse Fur struggling, though Fern Leaf padded confidently through the long grass, dense shrubs, overhanging bushes, and shadowy trees. The lean-muscled she-cat showed no signs of fatigue. Rocky, who had died of greencough last leafbare, had told her that Fern Leaf was previously a rogue. Perhaps thatโs how sheโs so comfortable with all this stupid undergrowth.
All of a sudden, she tripped, a tendril catching a back paw, causing her to flop onto the forest floor. โUnbelieveable!โ she hissed in anger and annoyance.
Fern Leaf and Gorse Furโs ears darted back in surprise, and Silver Stripe thought she heard light mrrows of amusement under their breaths.
Behind her, Storm Pelt was being less secretive. Letting out a bout of laughter, the thick-furred mottled gray tom helped her to her paws. โUnlucky,โ he purred.
Getting to her paws, Silver Stripe purred back, โWell, at least it made you smile.โ
Silver Stripeโs embarrassment had at least caused a grin to befall Storm Peltโs muzzle, something that had been missing since Jagged Peakโs death. But Storm Peltโs expression began to harden again, his blue eyes losing their shine. โWell, Iโve not had much to smile about recently,โ his purr had been replaced with a broken grief-stricken meow.
Extreme guilt immediately emerged from Silver Stripe. How could I have made such a fool of myself? she pondered. โIโm sorry,โ she began. โI didnโt mean it like that.โ
โItโs okay,โ Storm Pelt muttered, though Silver Stripe could see the saddened look that was scored across his muzzle, adding to her strong feeling of guiltiness.
Not knowing what to say, they kept on trampling through the thick undergrowth in awkward silence. Silver Stripe felt awful. That was a chance to make him open up, and I ruined it. She let out the smallest sigh as she followed Storm Pelt and the rest of the patrol further into the forest.
After what seemed like an eternity, they stumbled upon a small clearing that was dancing with sunlight. They were panting by that time, and all four cats took a fast moment to regain their breaths.
โLook at this,โ Fern Leaf suddenly hissed from the front of the patrol.
โWeโve found them,โ Storm Pelt breathed.
Silver Stripe stretched out her neck, so she could glance around the side of Storm Pelt. A ravaged, unrecognisable bit of prey was covered in blood; there was many deep bite marks around the remaining scraps of flesh. Sickness filled her mouth, and she had to gasp, for it to escape her lungs. โThat must be the dogs,โ Silver Stripe cried, as invisible breezes made her shiver.
Fern Leaf nodded, nearing the carcass and, giving it a sniff. โIt definitely smells like dog.โ
โThey must be close,โ Gorse Fur warned. โWeโll follow their scent. But weโll have to be careful.โ
Gorse Fur leading, the WindClan cats ventured more into the forest, following the scent trail that was left by the dogs. The undergrowth started to thin a little bit, and a new purpose had made them pad with more urgency toward their target. Silver Stripe felt a nervous pit forming in her stomach as she wondered about what could go wrong. How will the dogs react? How will we react? How will I react? Can I even face the dogs?
Vile dog scent became stronger. The birds had ceased their singing, and the area was swamped in disgusting dog scent, paining Silver Stripeโs nostrils.
โWait,โ Gorse Fur urged, his tail suddenly angling back.
There was a thicket in front. Silver Stripe could spot a few gaps in it. Could this be it? A terrifying bark sounded from the other side, causing the four cats to become unnerved. And immediately every cat unsheathed their claws.
โThe dogs,โ Fern Leaf spat.
Gorse Fur instructed them to stalk, as carefully as possible, to the thicketโs edge. Through the gaps, Silver Stripe could see four big, brutish black shapes sitting alongside one another. Saliva dropped from their mouths, flapping against the shorter grass, and she could see rippling muscles underneath their glossy pelts. As one of them yawned, Silver Stripe stiffened in terror. Sharp, piercing fangs had been hidden from sight โ the ones that had torn Jagged Peak to a disfigured heap. Alarmed, Silver Stripe was now able to understand how deadly these remorseless beasts really were to WindClanโs safety.
Before the dogs could smell or spot them, Gorse Fur touched each cat with his tail, monitoring for them to track backwards. Phew, soon Windstar will know, and then sheโll know what to do.
Without realising, whilst edging away from the thicket, she stomped on a small branch. It splintered in half, and its noise echoed throughout the forest, puncturing beyond the gaping thicket. Oh, StarClan! she thought in absolute terror. What have I done?
Silver Stripe looked up to see her own feelings of horror reflected in the expressions of Gorse Fur, Fern Leaf, and Storm Pelt. โRun!โ Gorse Fur shrieked. โWeโll lose them in the woods!โ
The shifting of clumsy paws from behind signified that the dogs had indeed heard her. Recovering to her paws, she bounded after the rest of the patrol. As she followed them, she had to scramble to dodge trees and bushes. Fright rushed through Silver Stripe, making her heart thump against her pelt, and filling her with pure panic. Harsh barking exploded in her ears, making her stumble yet again as she rolled through clumps of shrubbery. Attempting to get to her feet, she saw the rest of the patrol far ahead, escaping toward the border.
โCome back!โ she cried, but her desperate cry was cut short by a feverish bark that came from very close behind.
If Iโm going to die, Iโm going to avenge Jagged Peak. She whipped around, seeing the four black hounds coming to a sudden halt in front of her. They skidded forward, readying to attack their prey. Saliva splat against her muzzle. Their jaws slammed shut, omitting a bone-crushing vibration. The houndsโ eyes were glazed with destructive malice, which made Silver Stripe tremble, and their claws seemed more than twice the size of any cat. As they closed in on her, Silver Stripe unsheathed her claws, getting ready to sacrifice herself.
Silver Stripe felt herself flinching as they got closer and closer. Big paws pressed against the ground, and she began to feel their disturbing breath touch her pelt. The stench was so mad, she had to force bile back down her throat.
Frozen to the spot, she sat waiting for the dogs to make the first move. Come on, you ugly brutes! Silver Stripe flexed her claws, getting prepared for her end.
Suddenly! The dogs turned their heads toward the trees that surrounded them. Then, to Silver Stripeโs surprise, the dogs emptied shallow whines from their mouths. Whatโs happened? Completely confused, Silver Stripe wondered what had alerted the dogsโ attentions.
Bright ginger fur raced across her vision. Snapping her head around, she managed to glimpse a tom zigzagging through the trees around the dogs. Silver Stripeโs eyes widened. Heโs going to get himself killed! The bright ginger tom manoeuvred with skilful agility through the forest floor. He made it seem as though the undergrowth wasnโt touching his paws. The dogs were now snarling, twisting their heads and attempting to focus on the dash of fiery ginger fur. Taking advantage of the distraction, Silver Stripe began to slowly creep away.
Avoiding their clumsy, outstretching paws, the bright ginger tom darted around the sides of the four dogs. Reaching her side, he called, โGo! Iโll keep them busy.โ
โThank you,โ Silver Stripe gladly replied, feeling a mixture of terror and gratitude, she stumbled away, rushing back toward WindClan territory.
Once she was a dozen or so tail-lengths away, she risked turning her head back. The bright ginger tom was leading the dogs away, losing them among the densely packed trees.
I wonder who he is? she reflected, feeling puzzled. Why did he save me? Not having the answers, she continued to run back toward the border, trying to put the nightmarish dogs behind her.
— SCENEBREAK —
Stars shone in the blackening sky as Silver Stripe exited the thinning undergrowth. The pale gray tabby she-cat was relieved to hear familiar meows.
โWe shouldnโt have left her,โ Storm Pelt meowed.
โHow could we have realised?โ Fern Leaf shrugged. โLetโs just hope she got away.โ
Silver Stripe, nearing her Clanmates, could see a worried look in Storm Peltโs face. โButโฆ What if she turns out like Jagged Peak?โ The mottled gray tomโs head dropped. โI wonโt be able to live with myself.โ
Her slender tail rustled some ferns as she passed a mound of heather, alerting Fern Leaf. โWait, it could be her.โ
โDonโt worry, Iโm fine,โ Silver Stripe called out to them.
When she was closer, Storm Pelt sighed, โIโm glad youโre safe.โ
โYeah, what he said,โ Fern Leaf agreed. โWe better get back to camp. Gorse Fur went ahead, and everyoneโs bound to be worried about you.โ
— SCENEBREAK —
โBattle training will begin immediately,โ announced a commanding voice.
Silver Stripe could see Windstar telling the Clan as she pushed through the narrow gorse tunnel, her fur brushing the sides. She was happy to see everyone gathering in the Meeting Hollow, watching Windstar, who sat atop the Tallrock. Silver Stripe was even happier to see the pelts of Slate, Black Ear, and White Tail sitting close to each other. After earlier, she knew it was a privilege to see them again.
โSheโs back!โ a cat meowed, making all of WindClan turn toward her.
It didnโt take more than a few heartbeats for her Clanmates to swamp around her, drenching their scents with hers. After thinking she was about to die when facing the dogs, Silver Stripe was overjoyed to feel the warm pelts of her Clanmates touch hers. She closed her eyes, treasuring their warmth.
โIโm glad youโre back,โ White Tailโs sudden meow sounded from amongst the sea of cats.
โIโm glad, too.โ
A black-and-white tom approached them from the crowd, his amber eyes sparkling. โI hope you didnโt have too much fun without me.โ
โGood to see you too, hare-brain,โ Silver Stripe purred, swiping a sheathed paw over one of his ears.
The events from the day faded from her mind as she was enclosed by her Clanmates, who offered joyful meows to her. Knowing she had escaped from the dogs, she felt jubilation flow through her body. When being so close to death, it made her realise how important her family was to her. Using her tail, Silver Stripe pulled Black Ear and White Tail in close, embracing the cats who meant the most to her.
Authorโs Notes:
As a gift for me not publishing a chapter for 12 days, Iโve given you the 2nd longest chapter in the book so far. Iโm happy with this (Iโve gotta be when it took 2 edits ;P). In case anyone wanted to know, I put in what happened to Rocky, though I think I mentioned something about greencough outbreaks in one of the first few chapters, so it was probably guessable from that. Silver Stripe nearly died, and who is this mystery ginger tom? Youโll have to find out when we return to Silver Stripeโs PoV. *evil laugh*. Btw, itโll probably be at least 3 chapter until we go back to her PoV. Fear not, weโve got Sun Shadowโs return and more Oak Shade coming soon. As always massive thanks for reading! Any comments are appreciated etc. Cheers! ๐

Age Of Darkness
The Silent Season
Chapter Two
Vrrrrr…. Blizzard sighed as she stretched herself. Ugh… these monsters never let me have a wink of sleep at these times. Blizzard thought as she crawled out from the large, ragged, and flecked oak. She flinched as she stepped on a tiny sharp rock. And it is really nice to get a sharp rock after waking up.
Blizzard padded lazily across the flowing emerald-green grass, and stopped where she could see a transparent stream. I hate Greenleaf. Just as hot as a desert, at least from Sage’s description.
Blizzard dipped her head into the water, closing her eyes as she felt the cool rushing water. Why am I even doing this? I just look like a duck. Blizzard poked her head out of the stream, and then shook her head. Well, at least I saved myself from being burnt.
“Hey you! Don’t you dare steal my- oh, it’s you.” Blizzard looked around, back and forth, to see the black and white kit. “Shade, what are you doing here? Please don’t tell me you are going to take Jackie’s advice an-” Blizzard stopped. If I just continue this, Shade’s just going to rip my fur off. Can’t underestimate kits.
“Just doing some random business.” Shade said quickly. Blizzard widened one eye, and half closed the other. “Oh, so I see. You are being suspicious, but whatever. You have your own business like I do. See you later.” Blizzard walked past Shade, thinking, I hope he doesn’t encounter a fox. He was boasting throughout the whole society about it when I stopped it. What a pai-”
Blizzard bumped into a hard oak tree, collapsing onto the tiny blades of grass. As long as I don’t think too much, I’m safe. Bah, I’m just going to meet up with Woodpecker and tell him that I’m leaving this place. Those monsters are just so annoying. Can’t get a minute of sleep if there is on nearby. If he does, Shade’s going to be nagging me so much.
Regaining her balance, Blizzard blinked as a gentle warm breeze swept through her. Been stuck here for nine moons, I wonder if I can find Aurora. What kind of kittypet name is that anyway? Suddenly, the echo answered here. Didn’t you know that aurora is a word? They are some colorful things that happen to appear in the sky.
Sighing, Blizzard continued to step on the mushy ground, twitching her tail irritably whenever she felt her paws sinking. Twolegs these days… Blizzard sprinted across the shiny mottled brown ground, and then stopped once she managed to reach some flat stone path. Can’t Woodpecker abandon his twolegs? He makes it harder to get to him. All he does is doze off under that plum tree! Pffft!
Climbing a wooden fence, Blizzard silently stepped behind a twoleg den, to remain unseen. What a drag. Blizzard thought. My day is ruined if I’m spotted by Coconut, he is just going to meow loud enough for his twolegs to come outside. Growling whenever she stepped on a sharp part of the long wood fence, Blizzard tried to run as fast as she could, and then stopped when a yellow wooden twoleg den was in sight.
Dismayed, Blizzard stared at the storm-gray ragged stone path with few small and thick yellow stripes. Great, another thing to be annoyed at.
Making sure there were no monsters, twolegs, and dogs, Blizzard summoned her strength to give a enormous leap, and managed to make it across the path. Blizzard unsheathed her claws, and then backed a little to gain a boost. She sprinted, and then dug her claws deeply onto the plum tree that was between the fences. There was a small gap, barely enough for Shade to fit in.
Scanning the garden, Blizzard tipped her head on every direction, and then spotted a reddish tabby tom slumbering. Just as I thought. Such an embarrassment to have Woodpecker as the elder. All he does is snore on his twolegs’ garden! He doesn’t even stay with that confusing society! Even though Blizzard had been with the society of cats for nine moons, she still had no idea why the cats were quite crazy there.
I hate how I have to meow from the tree… “Woodpecker!” Woodpecker half opened his eyes, his mouth slightly opening. Drooling, Woodpecker asked, “What is it, Blizzard? I was having a really nice nap…” Blizzard twitched her ear. “Yeah, make me have a really nice time. Anyway, may I leave the society?” Woodpecker lowered his head, ready to sleep. “Yes…” Woodpecker snored peacefully, his head on his dark reddish paws. That was simple. I’m really tired of this place.
Heading back towards the forest where the society lived, Blizzard began to sprint, watching out for any dogs. Can’t have an injury before leaving. Leaving may sound as a dumb idea, but whatever. I always wanted to explore, even if a fox finds me.
Snowfur’s Choice- A Short Story
“Snowfur, we need you in the battle,” growled Bluestar. Snowfur shook in fear. She could fight her own mate in the battle. StarClan cats like Yellowfang and Mudclaw turned their nose at her. Snowfur felt like a piece of wet moss.
“I know……. but you know too that I might have to choose between Thistleclaw and my place here,” Snowfur protested. Yowls of outrage responded. A dark gray tom glared at her and bared his teeth. His amber eyes were narrowed.
“I don’t trust her. Let’s leave her for the Dark Forest!” He yowled. Snowfur ducked her head. Bluestar looked taken aback. Would her sister defend her? Snowfur sent a pleading look at her blue-gray sister. Bluestar sighed, but stood her ground.
“Never, Sootfur. Put yourself in her paws. But Snowfur, we need an answer. Now,” Bluestar meowed firmly. Snowfur nodded. She nodded. The cold and bitter forest seemed to lurch before her. Snowfur dug her claws in the ground. She didn’t want to fight her love, but if that was what it took…..
“I…..will fight,” Snowfur whispered. A silver tabby appeared next to her. It was her mother, Moonflower. Her gentle amber eyes seemed to brighten StarClan’s land. Snowfur longed to be in a warm den for a nice nap. Bluestar lifted her tail at Moonflower’s reappearance. Was something wrong?
“I came to tell you that they are going to the forest!” Moonflower hissed. Bluestar flattened her ears. Snowfur dove into the undergrowth. She jumped to the lake territories in a single bound. A shadow crowded her heart. She honestly didn’t know what to do. Would Thistleclaw fight her or just run? The gray-eared white she-cat looked at her sister. Bluestar had never seemed more determined. More cats joined the sisters such as Lionheart, Raggedstar, Stonefur, Cloudpelt, Yellowfang, Spottedleaf, Swiftpaw, Tallstar, Heatherstar, Oakheart, Sunstar, and even Ashfur.
The forest loomed before them. Tigerstar’s scent lingered causing anxious growls. Snowfur sniffed the air. He just passed by with his cats. Sadness dragged her pelt as she recognized Thistleclaw’s scent. ThunderClan scent was the strongest. They were just outside the border.
“This is what I missed…….,” Smokepaw whispered nearby. She glanced at him once and wandered in. Thistles tugged at her like they were warning her! Fear held her down, but she kept going.
A chilling scream split the air. Snowfur flattened her ears. Bluestar thrust herself forward to find the source of the noise. Snowfur looked at Moonflower. The silver tabby nodded. Snowfur followed her sister. Thorns tore at her starry fur. Bluestar was standing at the edge of the thicket looking into a hollow. Snowfur halted beside her sister. Bluestar flicked her ears. Snowfur saw a pale gray tabby lying on her side with mud and blood smeared over her pelt.
“I’m going to check it out,” Snowfur whispered. Bluestar shook her head. Snowfur stared into her sister’s deep brilliant blue eyes. She couldn’t let her blue-gray sister boss her around. Snowfur flattened her ears. If a cat needed her help, she was going to help them! Snowfur would never forgive herself if that cat died because she didn’t help her!
Snowfur slipped out of the thicket. She gracefully padded over to the she-cat. She was still breathing! Her ice-blue eyes were half-open. Snowfur sniffed her pelt and bent down to talk to her.
“Did the Dark Forest cats do this to you?” Snowfur whispered.
“Have you come to take me to StarClan?” rasped the she-cat. Snowfur shook her head. The she-cat let out a sigh and tried to get up. Blood dripped onto the ground. Snowfur came up behind her just in case she fell.
“Save your strength. What Clan are you from? I can get a medicine cat,” Snowfur meowed. The pale gray tabby looked up with a grateful look. She had fear lighting her eyes.
Then, the cat’s grateful grin turned into a growl. She launched for Snowfur’s throat. Snowfur tried to turn to run, but she was too slow. Blood spilled from Snowfur’s shoulder. More shadowy cats slipped into view. Snowfur crouched in defeat. Was this it? The pale gray tabby put her bloodstained paws on her shoulder to pin the StarClan cat down. Snowfur’s muzzle pressed into the dirt. A sleek brown tom with bright yellow eyes slithered out with an orange and black tom.
“Nice job, Silverpool,” the orange and black tom mewed. Silverpool sniffed as she dug one of her paws into Snowfur’s scruff. Snowfur closed her eyes. All hope had been drained. Bluestar was right. Speaking of which, where is Bluestar?
“You know who’s idea it was, right Ripplestar?” a menacing, yet familiar voice made Snowfur shiver. She wanted to slip back into StarClan, but she couldn’t. She knew this cat, and she loved him.
“Snowfur?!?” Thistleclaw’s shriek made Silverpool back off of Snowfur. Snowfur looked into her mate’s sharp amber eyes. They showed fear and love. Thistleclaw backed away with his head lowered.
“You know this cat?” Silverpool narrowed her eyes as she slid her claws out. The brown tom and Ripplestar glared at Thistleclaw too. Thistleclaw’s fur bristled as his own sharp claws slid out. Snowfur’s love for him began to slowly melt away. She narrowed her eyes.
“I loved him, but now?” Snowfur rasped. Thistleclaw froze. A look of dismay and shame spread his face. Snowfur glared at Silverpool. The brown tom and Ripplestar cocked their heads as if studying the two. Snowfur’s hackles lifted. She narrowed her eyes.
“I won’t hurt you, Thistleclaw. Do what you will!” Snowfur hissed. Ripplestar seemed intrigued and began to nudge Thistleclaw forward. Ripplestar whispered something dreadful into Thistleclaw’s ears. Thistleclaw’s expression gradually turned to horrified. He backed away from the leader, but Ripplestar nodded with an evil grin. Snowfur looked worried.
“Kill her, Thistleclaw. Prove to Brokenstar, Hawkfrost, and even Tigerstar that you belong with us. You brag that you have no weakness, but your love is going to be your downfall if you make the wrong decision. She is just a cat. Imagine she is her sister if it helps. Do it or Molenose and I will do it for you!” Ripplestar hissed. Thistleclaw turned from terrified to cold as he launched himself at the leader. He sliced his throat open with his powerful claws. Molenose landed on Thistleclaw’s back. Silverpool dug her claws in Snowfur’s back. Snowfur whirled around and slashed Silverpool’s chest. Blood washed the grass red.
“No, Silverpool!!” Molenose wailed. Was there more than one couple in this battle? Silverpool and Ripplestar’s bodies faded away to nothing. Thistleclaw killed Molenose with a blow to the head and a bite to the neck.
“Tigerstar will kill me for this….” Thistleclaw whispered. His amber eyes flashed at his mate.
“It will be a secret. For the both of us,” Snowfur replied. Thistleclaw nodded with a warm look. He licked his mate and left. Bluestar slipped out of the thicket with her perfect sleek pelt.
“Why didn’t you help me?” Snowfur growled.
“I knew Thistleclaw would help you. I wasn’t needed and he would be more reluctant if I was present,” Bluestar replied firmly. Snowfur was happy she saw her mate again. He wasn’t such a bad guy after all!

Bramblepaw’s Journey
A little after The Darkest Hour…….
“Bramblepaw, come here please,” meowed Firestar. Bramblepaw scrambled across camp. His bright ginger mentor stared at him. Bramblepaw knew that look. It was the look of mistrust. The tabby apprentice sometimes hated his father for ruining any chance of Bramblepaw being trusted like any other apprentice.
“Hi, Firestar!” He meowed. Bramblepaw wanted to sound excited. He had to stay positive today. He never knew when he would get his assessment. Firedtar looked stressed and frustrated, but that look evaporated into proud and gentle.
“You’ve been a great part of ThunderClan. I couldn’t have asked for a better apprentice and-” Firestar began.
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?!” Cloudtail meowed from across camp. Cloudtail was once Firestar’s apprentice too. Firestar blinked and gave a glare at the white tom.
“Don’t worry, Cloudtail. You get used to it,” Cinderpelt purred. The dark gray pretty she-cat was also one of Firestar’s apprentices before her life-changing injury. Firestar nodded at the gentle medicine cat. Bramblepaw wanted to crack up laughing, but he wanted to remain serious. Firestar shook his head while making some weird half- growl and half-purr.
“Anyways, Bramblepaw, you have chosen a better path than your father did. The Clan honors you. Your assessment will be coming up. I think you should train, but my leadership duties prevent me from helping you. I spoke with Graystripe and to help prepare, you will lead a patrol on your own,” Firestar purred. Bramblepaw’s heart leaped for joy. The tabby couldn’t contain any excitement. He jumped up and yowled his happiness.
“….so he found out I assume?” Graystripe purred as he entered camp. Bramblepaw nodded at the shaggy gray deputy. Firestar greeted his best friend with a blink. Bramblepaw rushed to the den to tell the fellow apprentices the news.
“Sorrelpaw, Rainpaw, Sootpaw, I am getting my assessment soon!” Bramblepaw yowled. Sorrelpaw’s tortoiseshell’s fur stood straight with shock. Sootpaw raised his head. Rainpaw’s eyes grew wide with excitement.
“Really?! Congratulations!! Rainpaw, Sootpaw, and I can help you train!”
“Bramblepaw, you earned it!”
“Tawnypaw would be proud!”
Bramblepaw was excited that the apprentices finally trusted him. He blinked in gratitude. He turned red. He invited the apprentices to hunt with him later. Life had seemed to be brighter for him!

“Firestar, you don’t get it! You need to hand Bramblepaw over to ShadowClan!”
“Why would I do that, Smallear?”
“It is his father all over again! He has the same eyes, fur, and ambition! He will try and charm you, and then BAM! He will kill you! Hand him over to ShadowClan, so he can be their problem! They seem to take in trai-”
“Smallear, I am very disappointed in you. As an elder, you are supposed to encourage young ones into blossoming into warrior life. Bramblepaw has looked in his father dead in the eyes and refused to join him. I know what it is like to not be trusted. Smallear, you scared away his sister. I will fight for him any day. Go back to the den and think about it if he heard this!” Firestar hissed.
Bramblepaw did hear it. He was just waiting outside Firestar’s den. A hot fire burned in his veins. He felt his claws dig into the ground. Bramblepaw shook his head. He thought he had earned the Clan’s trust, but he was just his father’s shadow. A burning tear fell to the ground. Bramblepaw shook his head and marched into the Elder’s Den.
Bramblepaw slipped into the entrance. It was oddly quiet. Something was wrong! Bramblepaw looked around. It was empty, except for one cat. One-eye! The pale gray she-cat looked fast asleep. Bramblepaw prodded her with his paw. It was cold. She had died in her sleep. He needed to tell the Clan. Bramblepaw whirled around and came face-to-face with Smallear. The old tom hissed as he pushed the apprentice back.
“You killed One-eye! I knew it! You are like Tigerstar!” Smallear hissed. Bramblepaw’s jaw dropped. How could Smallear think that? Never! Bramblepaw growled as he put on a fierce glare.
“What’s going on?” Graystripe roared. Smallear whipped to face the deputy. Firestar was behind the deputy. Smallear pushed through the entrance. Firestar was about to stop him when he started to talk.
“Listen, ThunderClan! Tigerstar is among us! Bramblepaw has murdered one of the oldest cats in the Clan; One-eye! I found him standing over her body,” Smallear yowled. Cats gasped and looked at Bramblepaw. Firestar gave an icy glare at Smallear.
“Smallear, you have no right to say that! Bramblepaw has done nothing but good! He would never do such a thing. He is NOT his father, Smallear and I can promise you that!” Brightheart snarled. The young one-eyed she-cat’s fur bristled. Bramblepaw blinked a thanks. Brightheart bared her teeth at the elder.
“Cinderpelt, check One-eye. If there any evidence of wounds?” Firestar meowed. The dark gray she-cat limped into the den. She soon came back after a heartbeat. She shook her head. More cats glared at Smallear. Bramblepaw looked at Firestar who turned his gaze at the elder.
“Smallear, you will be bound to the den for four moons as punishment. That is a wild accusation!” Firestar announced. Smallear turned his snout up and marched into the den with sneaking one last gaze at Bramblepaw. Bramblepaw felt a rush of pride. He was trusted, but he still knew he wasn’t out of the woods yet.
HONEYPAW! THESE ARE BOTH WONDERFUL! HOW DO YOU THIS EPICNESS????!
Thank you!! I started writing fanfiction two years ago. I’ve had lots of practice. Beware! My next story is about Tawnypelt!! ๐
Just wanted to write some random thing…
“Hello, today this is the Daisy cooking show! We shall make a mousurabburito!”
(Applauses from cats as Daisy appears)
“First, we must review the ingredients! Drumroll!”
*Drumrolls from cats*
“One mouse and rabbit… two long yummy oval leaves…and that is all!”
“Here is the procedure! First, take out the mouse and rabbit, and leave it out on the sun! Once it is heated, shred it nicely! Do the same with one oval leaf! Then, you put it all on the other oval leaf! Finally, there is the mousurabburito!”
*Larkkit peeks* “Why is it so short? I don’t understand!”
“That’s how it is! Now, bye folks!”
Hehe… just like what I said, I only decided to write something random out of boredom.
LOL! Larkkit is like-Why is this queen so weird and idiotic? She doesn’t even know how to make a proper mousurabburito! XD ๐ weird thoughts like this pop into my mind when I’m just sitting down doing nothing ๐
Tawnypaw’s Escape
Tawnypaw waited from outside the Apprentice’s Den. The camp was nearly empty. Half the Clan was on patrols. The other half was still fussing over Sorrelkit. Tawnypaw glanced at Smallear who had been watching her. He padded over to the tortoiseshell.
“Awful quiet? Just like your father all right! He always was a sneaky one, but then he did bad things. You are the weird one like he was! That’s for sure! Why don’t you get me some fresh moss for my den to keep yourself busy? Or are you going to refuse like your father did?” Smallear growled. Tawnypaw shifted awkwardly. Why can’t the foxheart get his own dumb moss?!
“Don’t bully me into doing stuff for you. I know my father was bad, but I did nothing! Nothing! I have done nothing, but good for this stupid Clan! Leave me alone or StarClan help you! Stop bothering me!” Tawnypaw yowled. Smallear looked surprised and shocked. He grinned and left. Bramblepaw went up to her with a scared look.
“You okay? You are lucky Brackenfur is on patrol!” Bramblepaw purred in her ear. Tawnypaw wasn’t in the mood. She just needed to get her brother to get his nose out of her business! Tawnypaw had thought about it, but maybe she should go to another Clan. Which Clan though? RiverClan had smelly icky fish for food. She could never run like a WindClan cat, and Tallstar would only turn her in to Firestar. Maybe she could go to ShadowClan. Her father was there, but that didn’t mean she was like him!
“Just leave me alone. I’m going to hunt,” muttered Tawnypaw. Bramblepaw raised his ears in shock. Tawnypaw was more grumpy than Yellowfang stuck in a bramble! Tawnypaw growled wordlessly as she marched outside of camp.
“Alone?”
“Of course! Since nobody seems to trust a traitor like me!” Tawnypaw hissed. She ran until she was far from camp. The looming oak trees seemed to isolate her in this massive forest of monsters and creatures in nightmares. Tawnypaw scented ShadowClan nearby, but she was far from the ShadowClan border. Intruders! She raised her hackles and crept in the bushes. She followed the scent. She saw a cat in the shadows. Attack!
Tawnypaw pounced onto the cat. The tom whipped around and threw her off. She hit a rock. A slight cut appeared on her back. Tawnypaw bit back tears from pain and looked at the tom as he slid out of the shadows. It was Tigerstar! His face turned from mean and murderous to shocked and…..was that compassion in his gaze? No! Not Tigerstar!
“T-Tigerstar! Hi! What are you doing here?” Tawnypaw studdered.
“I was about to talk to that Firestar of yours. I scented him at my camp without telling me,” Tigerstar replied smoothly. Tawnypaw nodded. Maybe she could talk to him about coming to ShadowClan with him? He cocked his head. Did he know what she was thinking?!
“Actually, I think ThunderClan isn’t destined to be my….uh….Clan. Can I possibly join ShadowClan?” She gazed at her father. He narrowed his eyes. According to Firestar, this cat had killed others! Maybe…..he would trust her. Tigerstar twitched his ears deep in thought. Tawnypaw considered running to camp and squealing, but she couldn’t go back now.
“We could always use another cat in our ranks. Welcome to TigerClan, Tawnypaw. Let’s go back to the camp before your former Clan realizes we are in the wrong territory.” Tigerstar led Tawnypaw into the woods. The tortoiseshell felt stupid for forgetting he had combined with RiverClan and made a new one. Tawnypaw felt at home next to her father. The dark tabby stayed close to her. She knew she wouldn’t disappoint him! Tigerstar gave her a gentle glance every now and then.
“Stay close, Tawnypaw. I may know that you are a new TigerClan cat, but the others don’t,” growled Tigerstar. Tawnypaw nodded. A small rain drop landed on her head. Rain would cover up scents, so that was good for them. Tigerstar narrowed his gaze and halted. Tawnypaw continued a couple steps forward, but dashed behind her father just in case.
“Is that a badger…?” Tigerstar hissed. “It’s been a while since I have seen them!” Tawnypaw unsheathed her claws. She needed to prove that she is a valuable addition to her new Clan. Tawnypaw smelled fresh badger too. A black and white pelt glimmered among the darkened briars. The badger snarled and slashed at the two cats. Tigerstar landed on the back of the badger. He sliced the badger’s nose with his claws. The badger thrashed and nearly flung him off. Tawnypaw launched herself at the badger’s neck. She dug her claws into it. Blood welled up at her paws. She had a vision then. She saw tabby fur on her tortoiseshell fur. She needed to stop or she would be like Tigerstar. Tawnypaw let go and jumped away. Tigerstar joined her when the badger collapsed on the ground.
“Tawnypaw, what in the name of Thistleclaw did Brackenfur teach you? That was good…..for a ThunderClan cat I guess,” meowed Tigerstar. Tawnypaw blinked in thanks and let the tabby lead the way.
The journey was hard, but the two made it to the former RiverClan camp. Burly ShadowClan cats guarded the entrance. He introduced Tawnypaw to everyone. Tawnypaw was excited. Everyone was appreciating her! She told them the badger story. Every cat was amazed, but had bigger stories of their own. She could get used to it. Tawnypaw was excited to be part of this Clan.
Tawnypaw was exploring the new Clan and saw two TigerClan cats were burying a blue-gray tom. Stonefur? He died?! Tawnypaw knew she was in this forever, but would she miss ThunderClan?
WONDERFUL ONCE AGAIN HONEYPAW! MAGICAL AND ELLIGANT!
