    Basically thereโ€™s the main clan, which has a normal naming system apart from kits have a one word name (E.g. Wolf, Shining, Freckle)

    • -do a general plot synopsis first. I like doing one for me that shows the whole plot and one for others (regardless of if you’re going to share it or not, it helps you get a handle on what you want the readers to know coming in/at the beginning of the plot)

      -outlines! they’re great! they make writing super easy when you run out of ideas. rereading the outline is a great source of inspiration when you need it. it also makes it easier to see where you’re going and refine your plot without having to edit your writing if that makes any sense

      -make your plot flexible (until you post it). it’s not set in stone from the moment you write down concepts. new ideas are fun!

      -foreshadowing makes plot twists more interesting and satisfying. weave in a spectrum of obvious and not obvious. the best plot twists have foreshadowing that isn’t impossible to figure out beforehand, but is really hard to

      -have a writing and posting schedule. it makes it harder to fall behind and stop writing. it also helps to have a few chapters done ahead of time so you can keep up your schedule if you get busy/sick

      -have fun with it! if a project becomes not fun for you, give it a rest.

      -write a story that YOU want, not your readers. people will still like it.

    • I donโ€™t really think I count as an expert… but my friends all love my writing and my teachers do too. And also months ago when I actually posted some fanfic chapters the blog liked it too.

      First of all, I love your name! (I think I remember you but thatโ€™s debatable because I havenโ€™t been active for months)
      For the story, first come up with the general plot. And I said GENERAL. Sometimes people commonly get carried off into super tiny details. Develop the setting, conflict, characters, main plot, and other story elements that Iโ€™m probably forgetting. Story mountains help a lot.
      After youโ€™re done with that, thennnnn you can focus on smaller details. Like certain small things that can affect the plot. Also, it helps to write outlines for each chapter. You want to estimate about how many chapters there will be and create a brief summary of each chapter.
      Then you can start writing! Remember to go back and add some stronger words (e.g. dashed instead of ran), and figurative language (similes, metaphors, personification, etc.)
      Some things to keep in mind:
      This is your story! Write it with your writing style!
      Remember to be flexible, because you might have to change something at the last second!
      Weโ€™ll always love your story no matter what!

    Alright, another story that I plan on publishing on day. But the rules might be a little stricter than Whispering Dawn, Iโ€™m afraid. This story will be called โ€œThe Phantom Callingโ€ (technically itโ€™s going to be a series) and like Whispering Dawn, I want to publish it one day. However, this isnโ€™t based on animals or mythical creatures, but people. Iโ€™ll just give you guys the summary to spare myself from typing it all down:

    โ€œOn an island far away, a school called Dragonwood Academy resides there. It claims that itโ€™s to help take care of the students with special abilities, but many of them doubt it. And many more doubt it when daily disappearances take place in this very school. Silverfire, a young fifteen year old with must make some unlikely allies if he is to put an end to the dubious foe behind it.โ€

    So basically, a school story that has students with powers. Nothing much right? WRONG. In this story, Iโ€™m incorporating death, adventure, etc. Unfortunately I canโ€™t include the death option, as in if youโ€™d like to die because I canโ€™t keep characters alive forever. I wonโ€™t make it one of those meaningless deaths, I promise. If anything like that happens, itโ€™ll be with one of my characters that are also side characters. The powers have to be reasonable. Only one power, because Iโ€™m not adding any character whoโ€™s OP. Backstory is optional, but donโ€™t make your character related to one of the main characters, as I already have those family trees planned out. Other notes are for questions, extra stuff on your character or any comments. (One character per person, like last time.)

  • Hello, everyone.
    Iโ€™m starting a new fic, called the dark prophecies.
    Itโ€™s going to be a small project. Kinda like trailing stars, but more grounded in the book canon.
    It takes place in an alt universe, mainly because I havnโ€™t read all the warrior books. I did the first series, then started midnight, didnโ€™t finish midnight, and started reading the super editions.
    In this universe, the clans still all live in the forest thatโ€™s shown in the prophecies begin. Most of everything else is the same with the books, with a few exceptions, eg, no characters from books after chapter 10 of midnight (approximately)
    This story is shown throu riverclans perspective, and the main character is my main oc/my fursona, Willowstar/brook/paw/kit.

    I need help with getting background characters. The story may also switch between characters perspectives, similar to midnight, how it would be about brambleclaw and squirelpaw, then swap to leafpaw and cinderpelt. I will have a list of characters for people to design (might have a design comp) and a sheet for people to design their own character.

    First off is the Warriors related one, called A Silencing of the Stars. It takes place before Firestar joined the Clans, and before SkyClan was driven from the forest. Here’s the summary:

    Before SkyClan was driven from the forests, before Firestarโ€™s era, the five Clans of the forest lived in peace. All cats were content, except for a select few within the Clans. But when StarClan seems to vanish completely, all chaos breaks loose in the forest. Will the Clans be able to pull through these dark days? Or will they end up destroying themselves from the inside?

    Since SkyClan is the main Clan, everyone in there has been checked off the list (with a total of 17 cats so…). Sort of the same with ThunderClan, except for the fact that everything but leader, deputy, and medicine cat are open. Anyways, here’s the form for A Silencing of the Stars:

      Backstory (optional): She lost a lot of her family too a serious bout of greencough when she was just a young apprentice, including her only littermate, Thrushpaw. Her mother, Robinstrike, died of it, along with her uncle and aunt, Frostedfeather and Poolshimmer. Her father, Briarstorm, looked after her until he died in battle not long after she received her warrior name. Her mentor, Flowerblaze, was more of a mother to her than Robinstrike was, because of Robinstrikeโ€™s death. As she grew up, she began to rely heavily on her clanmates. She grieved over her family for a long time, and reminds herself that her clanmates need her to try and push her past to the side. She became independent and tough because of her losses. Her deputyship was long, and she had replaced her mentor, Flowerblaze, when she died. She also never wanted a mate, after losing so many cats close to her, but if you want to ship her, thatโ€™s fine! Sheโ€™d just be a little reluctant and hesitant, and would want somebody to match her step for step in her journey as clan leader ๐Ÿ™‚

      Backstory: Her father (Clawhawk) did not recognize her and her sister (Stormpaw) as his kits and left their clan to join a rogue pack when they were born. Their mother (Ivymist) was an honorable cat that Clawhawk did not deserve. After he left, she died four moons later from grief of her brother (Nightbreeze) died in a battle against Clawhawk. Rosekit, being the older kit, took care of and protected her sister after their mother’s death. Stormpaw died three moons later in a fire that burnt the Shadowclan camp down. After all these losses, Rosepaw became emotionless and feared by the clans, though she always followed the warrior code, despite losing belief in Starclan because she thought they destroyed her life while she did nothing wrong. She did not feel love again until she met Ashflame who saw her behind that tough shell for the cat she really was, he helped her regain belief in Starclan. She worked tirelessly rebuilding the Shadowclan camp and became deputy to Moonstar (female) who died by protecting a Riverclan kit from a badger. When she became a leader, she saw her mother, uncle, and sister all together for the first time since their death.

Rosestar is not keen at all on having kits because she is worried about what kind of future they will have amongst traitors but Ashflame coaxes her and she eventually changes her mind.

      Backstory: Quiverpaw was a very bouncy apprentice, but one day she cuts her paw on the rocks because she wasn’t being careful. Her apprenticeship is put on hold while she heals. Frustrated and bitter, Quiverpaw wonders if she will only ever be known for her mistakes. She turns to the Dark Forest for solace, enjoying the praise and respect she receives there. She trains there for moons, eventually leaving because she knows it is wrong. She gets into another incident with an ant pile, and she eventually earns the warrior name Quivershift, after her inability to keep still. Furious, she begins to withdraw from the clan. She is too ashamed of leaving the Dark Forest to return, and so she slips into her own darkness. Her clanmates begin to wonder what happened to that cheerful, loving apprentice she once was. She develops a crush on a tom named Loudheart, but she thinks he would never love someone who makes so many mistakes. She falls even farther into her self-pity. However, the cat who had led her to the Dark Forest was mad at her never returning and threatened to kill Loudheart. The day after this dream, she hears a rockslide and realizes with dread that is what her dream was about. In the last second, she pushes Loudhert to the side and the rocks fall on her. She dies.
      How you want the character to die: Saving Loudheart from a rockslide, jumping in herself. Her last words are: “I’ve spent my whole life making mistakes, Loudheart. But, as much as it may seem like it, this wasn’t one of them. I love you, Loudheart.”
      Other: She discovered the Dark Forest through another Riverclan apprentice taking her with her. That Riverclan apprentice later dies and stays in the Dark Forest forever. Quivershift is confirmed to go to Starclan.
