Celebrating One Year on Our New Site!

It’s been exactly a year since the first post celebrating our arrival on blogclan.katecary.co.uk, let’s celebrate!

Hurrah! We did it! A year! Our territory is more lively than ever before!

Over the past year this site has grown and developed into something new and maybe even more exciting than the BlogClan of old! Already I’m sure we have many memories of this new site, which is strange to think, seen as it feels like only yesterday we were in our old home!

So, let’s raise a glass (of sparkling apple juice!) and toast our new site’s birthday!

What’s been your favourite memories over the last year, eh? How many of you have joined us in that time, and who remembers the old site?!

Three cheers!

Henceforth the blog is nicknamed Samantha. That’s our codeword. That’s the law now.

  • I remember the last page! I didn’t join, only tried (and failed) to comment something on chat under the name “Snowbrook”. 😀 HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOGCLAAAAAN!!! <3

  • Hooray! Good job everyone. I remember the old blog — it’s where I first joined and met everyone, naturally. It was great, and so is this one.

  • H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y B L O G C L A N

Seeing this blog compared to the old blog, it feels futuristic

i still love the old blog as much as the new one though but look at where my 12+ months of life have gone to and i love the reason

  • Oh, wow, I feel really old now!
I remember the old blog, how I found it last September and stalked till February, and how awkward and shy I was at first – then April 1st/2nd happened, and that’s when I started to get comfortable with commenting, and commented every weekend – and then one day I found that someone had accidentally left BlogChat opened, randomly talked to myself, was joined by others, signed up for Fandom/Wikia, and started my journey into randomness central 😛 I blame Wollow. Lup and Goldi for getting me comfortable with chatting with BlogClanners (because, really, they were the only three up at the times I was most active on chat, occasionally joined by a couple of others), and commenting a lot, and, well, you get the idea. 😛 I haven’t made any significant contribution to BC, apart from two drawings, but hopefully that’ll change.I remember struggling really hard with depression and anxiety, but after I joined BlogClan, I managed it more easily – a huge, huge thank you to BlogClan for that 😀 I love how BlogClan grew from a small blog by a writer (“Oh my goodness, I’m blogging”) to a not-very-huge community of preteens, teens and adults with diverse backgrounds, but who all come together as fans of Warriors, and fans of other fandoms that we share, and can express their thoughts and get feedback and work very much like a small, happy. model part of society. I’m mildly proud of having seen BlogClan migrate here (but that doesn’t make or change anything! No offense meant 🙂 ) and, speaking of which, I remember that I felt like typing up a long comment on what I’d seen about BlogClan on the post about when we changed domains to here (I think it was called “Welcome To BlogClan’s New Home” or something along those lines?) but decided not to – why I didn’t is a mystery to me.

For me, it’s been over a year and a half (or year and three months if you prefer to go by Clanniversary) and I really love this website and what it’s given me. I feel like I’ll never be able to give as much back, but I’ll try 🙂 Thank you, all of you, for being such wonderful people in the shadowy reality of my life – and for reading this admittedly longish, partly nonsensical ramble 😛

(Edit: Josh, I get the feeling you deliberately codenamed the blog after Kate – did you search up ‘happy birthday Samantha’?)

  • Yay! Happy one-year BlogClanniversary of the new site! I remember the old blog. It was where I met all the older members, but the new blog has given me the opportunity to meet even more people. 😀
