Tempest wrapped her tail round Fireblaze. “It’s not your fault. You see, don’t take this the wrong way, but chickens aren’t built for fighting. They aren’t made like that. Athena was born into blood and war, everyday a battle for survival. Everyday, there was some kind of slaughter, not always for food. She grew up like that, and it really impacted her. But, the fact that you fought like that, the fact that you CAN fight like that, is amazing. You’re incredible, Fireblaze, and a better fighter than I am. I don’t know what we’d do without you.”
“Exactly.” Yuri padded up to Fireblaze. “You are the best friend I could ever have. You were… you were amazing out there. I do not normally fight- the generals mostly stay out of it- but I wanted to. I wanted to keep you all safe.”
~Fireblaze~
“Thanks, guys,” Fireblaze tells Tempest and Yuri, “You’re great friends, too.”
Yuri smiles. “You are very much welcome.”

Russet cautiously stepped out from the undergrowth. Sadness flickered in her gaze. “What happened?” she asked.
~Rain~
“There was a war,” Rain replied sadly, walking up to the newcomer, “We lost a brave warrior.”
“…Huge war happened here. If you need to speak to the general of this operation, I believe that would be me.” Yuri barked. Sadness suddenly glazed her eyes. “But we lost someone. Someone dear to our hearts. She was very brave.” She sighed out loud. “And I really miss her.” Yuri would never forget the words Athena spoke to her, the final words before her death.
Molly~
Molly blinked at the newcomer. “What’s your name?” she asked.

“I’m russet. I’m lost.” she said.
Molly~
“Where do you live? We can help you. Or you could stay here for a bit,” she added.

Carlotta sighed. “Mistakes happened,” she said.

Ash peered at the new comer, a russet cat. She thought about maybe going to say hello, but hesitated. This is my problem, she thought. I worry too much about what others will think of me.
Ash stared at her paws.
“How am I going to be a mother if I can barley face a new cat?” she whispered to herself.

~Tuft~
“Mama’s dead!” wailed Tuft, pressing into Hurricane. “She died.”
“Tuft…” Yuri gentled barked, padding up to the cougar cub. “I am so sorry, little one.”
~Tuft~
Tuft pressed into Yuri instead, still sobbing.
Yuri gently pet Tuft on the head with her paw. “I am sorry…” she whispered over and over again.
|Amara|
“Er… well lots of injuries-” She is cut off by a sudden howl, and turns to see Snow racing side by side with Slate, her evil sister. Amara growles, “Slate! Get out of here, Snow what were you thinking, bringing that monster to our group?” But the two wolves ignore her and only stop running when they reach the edge of the group. Amara lunges forward so that she can protect the weaker animals if there is another fight. Then she notices that Slate’s usually angry red eyes were now scared and green. She stares bewildered at Slate then blinks, I’m probably just imagining it She thinks but when her eyes open Slate’s are still green.
~Dusty~
Dusty notices how Slate looked. To the young hen’s surprise, her eyes were green, not red, and she seemed less hostile, scared even. Dusty winced with sympathy as she saw a few animals cast suspicious glances at Slate. She couldn’t blame them, but surely Slate deserved another chance?
“Slate seems…” different, she murmured, “I think she needs another chance?”
“Dusty, are you crazy?!” Fireblaze gasped. Not knowing how to reply, Dusty shrugged meekly, then cautiously walked up to Slate.
.*Slate*.
Slate’s eyes widened and she says, “Pl- please don’t hurt me! I’ll change! I don’t want to be evil anymore!”
.:Snow:.
Snow steps in front of her sister, “If you even try to hurt her, you will have to go through me.” She pauses, “And if you want to know why I believe that she has changed, well, after you all left kohiro and Sharpclaw jumped on me and held me down but she pulled them off!” She stopped then whispered, “And then her eyes turned green…”
~Dusty~
Dusty looks from Snow to Slate. She understood exactly how Snow felt- she herself would stand by Sandy no matter what!
“I believe you, Slate,” Dusty murmurs, “Of course I won’t hurt you.” She swallows nervously, glances at her companions. Would they trust Slate, too?
She notices that Rain had come up to stand beside her.
~Rain~
Rain dashes up next to Dusty, sympathy shining in her blue eyes. “Don’t worry, Slate,” she clucks gently, “We trust you. And I’ll help you fit in. I promise. We won’t let anyone hurt you,” she adds, glancing at Snow and Dusty, knowing for sure that they would protect Slate, too.
“Would you like me to tell my friends how you saved Snow?” she asks Slate, “They might treat you better when they notice you if they already know the truth…”
.*Slate*.
“Th- thank you for understanding, I, er, yes I do think it would help for your friends to kn- know. Thank you um, what are y- your names?” Slate looks down at her paws.
“My name is Yuri.” Her tone softened. “There is no need to be scared, Slate. I know you want the change.”
~Rain~
“I’m Rain,” the slender gray hen smiled kindly at Slate. Motioning to the pale brown hen she added, “And this is Dusty.”
Rain blinked, her blue eyes showing no fear, only friendliness. “I’ll be your friend,” she promised, “I trust you. And I’m sure the others will, too.”
“Hurt you? I see that you want to change. Very well, then, come here.” Yuri barked.
~Sandy~
“It’s never too late to change,” Sandy pointed out.
Carlotta~
“WHAT IS UP WITH SLATE’S GREEN EYES?????????????” Carlotta screams.
Molly gives Carlotta a fierce look. “Stop screaming, and I’m sure we can figure it out,” she moos.
Star Wars is awesome“She wants to change!” Yuri points out. “She does not want to be evil anymore.”
Molly~
Molly nods. She agrees with Yuri. “Calm down, Carlotta.” she says. “Yuri’s right. Slate is not evil anymore, so there’s no reason to panic.”

Carlotta mutters something in French that nobody can quite make out, but drops the subject.

Ash mewed, “I trust you, Slate. And if you say you’re not going to be evil anymore, I believe…”
Sharp, sudden pain interrupted Ash, and she gasped.
It was different from the other pains she’d felt while pregnant, different from anything.
This time, Ash knew her kits wanted out- NOW.
“E-Elderberry,” she choked out.
“My kits…”
Ash felt dizzy, terrified, and sick. She curls her tail around her paws, and waits for Elderberry.
Star Wars is awesome“Everyone… stand back!!!!!” Yuri howled. She knew that Ash needed space.
Ash~
“Thanks, Yuri.” murmured Ash.
Star Wars is awesomeYuri quickly nods, then steps back as she hears another yowl of pain.
~Elderberry~
“Here, swallow this,” Elderberry places some medicine in front of Ash’s mouth, “It’ll help you.” Her tone is serious but gentle.
Ash~
Ash swallows. It tastes kinda sour, but she knows it’ll help.

Feather crouches at Ash’s tail and calls to Faith, “Get a nice thick stick for Ash, Faith!” Her apprentice nodded and dashed off. A moment later she reappears carrying the stick. “Good, now give it to Ash and she can bite it.”
Ash~
Ash bit down hard on the stick. It didn’t taste particularly good (it was a stick, after all) but she knew it would help with the pain to come.

Rain rushed up, a piece of moss in her beak. “Here’s some soaked moss if she needs it,” she clucked quietly.
Ash~
Ash drank a little water from the moss, then bit really hard on the stick.
The first kit was coming.
Star Wars is awesome~Ivystripe~ (I needed a numbat character. How did I survive so long without a numbat character? 😛 )
Ivystripe bounced up to the animals, looking around and twitching her bushy tail. “I’m new here,” the young numbat said, “What’s happening? Do you need help with anything? I can help you if you want.”
°•.Feather°•.
“You could help my apprentice, Faith treat some of the wounds. Faith, would you teach her how to apply the poultices?” Feather says. Faith nods, “Sure! Come here let’s look for some marigold and lots of cobwebs!”
~Ivystripe~
“Alright!” Ivystripe chirped cheerfully, following Faith. “I’m Ivystripe,” she introduced herself, “I used to live in Australia. That’s where most of us numbats are from. I like to draw and-” she paused and fluffed out her fur, realizing that she should be helping Faith, not chattering like a sparrow.
“I know where to find lots and lots of cobwebs!” She announced quickly, as she bounced up to an old tree stump. “I saw a bunch of cobwebs in here when I was looking for ants to eat,” she explained. With the help of her slim muzzle and long tongue, Ivystripe easily pulled some cobwebs out of the narrow crack. “Here you go,” she twitched her tail, handing them to Faith.
Faith-
“Thanks Ivystripe! Come on let’s head back and grab some of the marigold. Then I’ll show you how to apply it to wounds.” Faith turns and starts to walk back to the other animals.
Yuri dips her head. “Hello, Ivystripe. It is a pleasure to meet you!” She barks wearily.

“Bonjour, I’m Carlotta.” said Carlotta to Ivystripe.

“Hello! My name is Molly,” says Molly, thinking that Ivystripe seems nice.

“I’m Ivystripe!” Ivystripe tells the dog, spider, and cow. “Want to be friends?”
Molly~
“I’d love to be your friend!” says Molly. She likes Ivystripe already.

“Alright!” says Carlotta.
Star Wars is awesomeYuri smiles. “Of course!”
~Dusty~
Dusty sits down next to Sandy. She knows Sandy should probably be resting, but doesn’t bring up the subject- she trusts her sister’s judgement.
She looks around. Everything is calmer now. No one needs her to do anything.
Burying her face in her sister’s wing, Dusty bursts into tears.
~Petal~
Petal’s mille-fleur feathers shine in orange, black, and white, as she bounds up gracefully towards Feather and Elderberry.
“I will help you take care of the patients,” the medicine chicken tells them as she puts down the herbs she was carrying.
Ash~
Ash mews weakly to the new chicken (Petal) “I don’t think we’ve met… what’s your name.” She shudders as another flash of pain hits her, but she knows that the first kit is almost out.

“I’m Petal,” she says gently, “I’m a medicine chicken- I’ll help you.”
She adjusts the stick so Ash can reach it, “The pain will be over soon.”
Ash~
“Thanks, Petal.” mews Ash quietly.
She bites down on the stick. To her surprise, it actually really does help.
Ash bites down until the first kit is out.
She asks Petal, “Is it a tom or a she-kit?”

“This one is a tom,” Petal murmured.
Ash~
“I have a son,” purred Ash, gazing at the small, gray kit.

Ash gasps in pain again as a second kit starts to come out. But the pain isn’t as bad this time, because she knows what to expect.
She’s done this once, with her son. Her small, little son with his eyes closed and his fur gray like his mother.
She can do it again.

Tuft looked up at Yuri, his eyes wide with sadness. “Will you be my mother now?”
Molly~
Molly overhears Tuft asking if Yuri will be his mother now. She’s curious as to what Yuri will say.
I’m sure she’d be a great mom, Molly thinks.
Follow the Yellow Brick RoadYuri flinches. A mother? I am going to be- She cuts off her thoughts as Tuft gives her pleading eyes. She knows she is good with kids, she loves them. And Tuft is her favorite. She sighs. “Yes, Tuft. I will protect you at all costs.“
~Tuft~
Tuft buried his nose deeper in her fur. “Thank you.” For the first time he was quiet.
Yuri smiles, then sighs. “What do you say to getting out of this place after Elderberry does her stuff?” She asks the young cougar. “I will go find something for you to eat. Would you like that, little one?”
Molly~
Molly told Yuri, “I think you’re going to be a good mom. I believe in you.”

“I agree with Molly. I think you’re going to do a good job, oui?” said Carlotta to Yuri.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road“Hai.” Yuri agrees. “I will try my best.”
~Rain~
“You’ll do great, Yuri!” Rain clucked, her blue eyes shining, “And we’ll help you if you ever need it.”
~Fireblaze~
“I’m starving, and more than that, my throat is swelching!” Fireblaze complained, “I need water!”
She looked at her friends, “Let’s go to the cafeteria and find something to eat,” she suggested, “Who’s with me?”
Molly~
“I could definitely go for a snack.” said Molly. “I’ll come with you.”
Follow the Yellow Brick Road“Tuft wants food. I need to go get some for him.” Yuri turns to the cub. “Alright, what do you want from the cafe, Tuft? I will be going soon. Or, better yet, you can come along!”
Amber was starving. She never ate in a wile. “Me! I need a hole meal!”
Moonstream-
Moonstream padded out of the shadows. “H-hello?”
(Rip I’m sorry I’ve been so inactive please tell me what’s going on)
~Rain~
“Moonstream!” Rain dashed up to Moonstream, “I’m glad you’re okay!” Her blue eyes suddenly filled with sadness as she glanced down at the ground, “There was a war. Against Koshiro and Spur. Many animals were injured and… we lost Athena.”
~Lightning~
“Hello Moonstream!” Lightning never really met the animal, “Glad to meet you. I’m happy your back!”
“Moonstream?” Yuri glanced at the newcomer. “It is you! Welcome back!”
