“No.” The large male cougar stalked towards them, and took Raven’s scruff. He pinned the injured she-cat down, holding her throat. Raven choked, struggling to breathe.
“This, this cat is what killed my sister. She was the start of it. If Athena”- he paused in silent pain as he spoke her name “-hadn’t trusted you, she wouldn’t be dead. No one would be dead!” He curled his lip. “Now it is time for Raven to die.”
“No!” shrieked Cody. She leapt towards Hurricane, her claws unsheathed. “She will not die!”
“Cody.” Tempest’s whisper made Cody jump. The vixen blocked the grey she-cat, and Tempest bowed her head. “Let me do it. I grew up with him. I can get through to him.”
She turned around, walking toward him. “Hurricane, I know you-”
“Silence!” The cougar kicked the vixen away, and she landed in a heap. “Athena must be avenged!”

“Hurricane!” Yuri’s howl rings above the clearing. “Stop! Now!” She pads over to the cougar. “She has changed. Hurricane, can you not see that? Now she is hurt, and dying rapidly. You have seen it for yourself, she is not the same Raven that killed… Athena.” She looks at the ground. “I miss her too, but more bloodshed is not the way to do it. It was never meant to happen, the bloodshed. Do you understand?” She barks, quietly but firmly. “Now, I command you to stop. Right now.”
~Slash~ (to Hurricane, Yuri, Raven, the rest of that group :P)
“Hurricane, stop! Let her go, now!!” Slash demanded, putting her sword between the cougar and Raven, “She’s in pain- can’t you see that? I don’t want to fight you, so don’t make me have to.”
She glanced at Hurricane, and although her red eyes still held their anger, there was a flicker of sympathy in them, “I understand how you feel about Athena, but Yuri’s right- will causing more bloodshed really help?”
~Hurricane~
Hurricane growled at the chicken. “If we fight, I would have an extra meal for dinner tonight.”
Raven squeaked. “Don’t kill yourself for me, Slash. I am not worth more than Koshiro. I am a liar, and a traitor.”
~Slash~
“Raven, you are worth saving!” Slash clucked fiercely. “Plus,” she turned her head, addressing both Raven and Hurricane this time, “I have a sword and a shield and my fighting moves!”
~Raven~
“Yes, but he’s seven times your size and weight.”
~Slash~
“You’re right.” Slash sighed. “But there’s only one of him,” she added, with a glance at Yuri, Elderberry, Tempest, and Cody, “You’re all with me- right? We must protect Raven if we have to.” She turned to Hurricane, “If we have to. You have the choice to leave her alone without trouble. Look, Raven,” her voice softened, “I don’t mind getting hurt if it’s to protect you.”
NOTE: SUICIDAL THOUGHTS
~Raven~
“I mind,” Raven rasped. Coughing, she lifted a claw and rested it near her throat. “And if you do, I will.”
“Oh, no, no, no. You are not killing anyone today. And neither are you, Harikēn (Hurricane).” Yuri barks.
~Slash and Elderberry~
“Raven, don’t harm yourself,” Slash said firmly, putting the edge of her shield between Raven’s claw and throat.
“Let’s just get Raven to the hospital quickly,” Elderberry suggested, “and no one will get hurt.”
Slash glanced at Hurricane, “And you had better not try to stop us.”
~Raven~
Raven felt around for the shield, then batted her paw. She accidentally hit Slash. “Oh sorry.”
me trying to remember that Raven cannot see 😛Yuri gives a quick nod at the group. “If Hurricane does not surrender, we will have to fight.” She glances at Hurricane. “I am giving you a break that you should not have gotten. So, will you surrender? Or not?” Yuri growls fiercely.
~Tempest~
“EVERYONE, BE QUIET.” Tempest stood up. Tempest turned to Yuri. “Calm down.” She turned to Slash. “Put away your weapon.” She stared at Cody. “Sheath your claws.” She spun around to see Raven. “Don’t kill yourself.” She looked at Hurricane. “Don’t kill her.”
Tempest gazed at the cougar. “Hurricane, we need to talk.”
Hurricane bared his teeth.
“Hurricane!”
Hurricane sighed, then walked over to the black fox.
Tempest padded over to Elderberry. “Get Raven in that ambulance now.”
“Come on, Hurricane.” She and the cougar walked past Slash, Yuri and Cody.
Tempest stopped when she reached them, and Hurricane kept on padding forward. “See? That’s all you need to say.” She turned around and sat down with Hurricane.
Yuri twitches her tail. “I apologize for the… er… inconvenience.” She barks.
Lucy~ (To everyone she’s talking to)
“Is there a cafe’ near by where we can get apple cider?” Lucy randomly asked.
“I loooooooooooove apple cider,” she sighed, a dreamy look in her eyes.
Ivypool rocks~Taylor~
“Yes, I know of a nice cafe’,” Taylor replied, “Maybe we should go there now.”
Ash~
Ash looks concerned. She wants to go to the cafe’ with her friends, but who will watch her kits? She’s never left them before, and is feeling nervous.
Ivypool rocksLucy~
“Ok!” says Lucy.
Ivypool rocksMolly~
Molly nods. “There’s Apple cider there,” she informs Lucy, “and plenty of other foods and drinks.”
Ivypool rocksCarlotta~
“I’ll come!” Carlotta calls from where she’s talking with Slivery. “Catch you later, Slivery! Unless you want to come too,” she says.
Ivypool rocks~Sadie~
Glancing around, Sadie runs up to the crowd of animals. “Have you seen my brother?” she asks, panic in her bark.
Molly~
“Sorry, I haven’t seen him. Do you want us to help you look? We could hold off going to the café.” Molly said.
Ivypool rocks~Sadie~
“Thank you so much for offering!” Sadie wagged her tail gratefully, “He’s light gray. And he’s smaller than me because he’s much younger. That’s what I’m worried about… he’s just a puppy. He could easily get lost or stray too close to Koshiro’s mansion.”
~Umbra~
Umbra spun around. “K-Koshiro?” She was shaking. “No. We must find him.” She glanced at her brothers. “Koshiro is capable of… many things.” She looked at her paws, tears forming in her eyes. Tuft wound his tail around her.
Lucy~
“That’s so terrible!” Lucy gasps.
“I’m Lucy, by the way. What’s your name? And what’s your brother’s name?”
Ivypool rocks~Sadie~
“I’m Sadie,” the black-and-white dog replied, “And my brother is Smokey.”
Lucy~
“We have to find him! Before he wanders into a peanut butter rainstorm!” Lucy exclaimed.
Ivypool rocksCarlotta~
Carlotta rolls all of her eyes. (Spiders have eight eyes, right? I’m pretty sure they do.)
“Peanut butter rainstorms aren’t a thing.” she says.
Ivypool rocks~Victoria~
“Wow, a peanut butter rainstorm!?” Victoria exclaimed, although her voice was excited rather than concerned. “We have to find him,” she echoed Lucy, nodding.
“Wait!” Victoria suddenly clucked. She ran off towards the bakery, then came back holding a slice of bread. “We can use this to catch the peanut butter rain and save Smokey!” she exclaimed.
Lucy~
“Yes!” exclaimed Lucy excitedly.
Ivypool rocks~Rusty~
Overhearing, Rusty stared at Sadie’s worried expression and let out a silent whine. I have to find him! he thought determinedly, then bolted across the road to search the far side of town.
Molly~
“Where does he like to go?” Molly asks Sadie.
“Then we might be able to figure out where he’s headed.”
Ivypool rocksSadie
“He loves the toy store,” she barks.
Molly~
“Then we should probably look there.” Molly said.
Dovewing defenderLucy~
“What if he goes inside? Then it might take us longer to find him!” Lucy said.
Dovewing defenderCarlotta~
“How long has Smokey been missing?” Carlotta asked.
“If we know that, we could probably figure out how far he went.”
Dovewing defender~Sadie~
“I’ve been looking for him since morning,” Sadie whines.
Carlotta~
“That’s not good,” Carlotta mutters.
Dovewing defenderKordi~ (to everyone she’s with)
“Do you think maybe we should get going?” Kordi asked, standing up and shaking flowers off herself.
Ivypool rocksJazzy~
“Probably,” says Jazzy. “It’s almost lunchtime!”
Ivypool rocks~Cherryshine~
“Yeah, we should go!” Cherry agreed.
~Forest~
“I’m not too hungry since had a snack before I came,” Forest clucked, “But I know you guys didn’t and I wouldn’t want my friends starving to death. So let’s head back.”
Kordi~
Kordi grins. “Sometimes Jazzy acts like she’s going to starve between meals.” she says.
Jazzy playfully growls, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Ivypool rocks~Hans~
“I’ll come,” Hans says casually, even though he is not part of the group and doesn’t know these animals.
Jazzy~
Jazzy nods. “Ok.”
Ivypool rocksKordi~
“Town is this way,” Kordi says, starting to walk the completely opposite way.
Dovewing defenderJazzy~
“Kordi, that’s… the completely opposite way. Town’s this way,” says Jazzy, pointing her striped tail the right direction.
Dovewing defenderKordi~
“Oh. Sorry.” Kordi said.
Jazzy~
“It’s fine, Kordi.” Jazzy says, putting her tail on her friend’s shoulder.
Kordi~
Kordi purrs, then starts walking the actual direction or town.

“Sure why not”he said cachting up to Carlotta
~Snace~
“I’ll come, too,” Snace said.
Carlotta~
Carlotta calls to Snace and Slivery, “We need to look for a lost puppy first! Then we’ll go to the café.”
Ivypool rocksAsh~
Ash doesn’t know what to do. She really wants to help Sadie find Smokey. But her kits are way too small to be left alone. She shuffles her paws.
“I really want to help,” she need quietly to Sadie, “but I can’t leave my kits alone. I’m sorry.”
Ash stares at her paws, wondering what Sadie will say.
Ivypool rocks~Sadie~
“It’s okay,” Sadie barks understandingly, “I know how that goes- I’m often too busy watching Smokey even when I want to help out.”
Ash~
“Thanks. I’m glad you understand.” mews Ash, walking back to her nest where her kits are.
Dovewing defenderAsh~
“I’m back, little ones,” mews Ash, climbing into the cushy moss nest.
Athena, Stormy, and Shade quietly mew.
“I can’t wait for your eyes to open. There’s so many friends for you to meet.” Ash murmurs to her kits.
Dovewing defenderAsh~
Ash falls asleep soon enough.
She wakes up in an alley. Aspen is there. Part of Ash knows she’s dreaming, but she just wants to enjoy the moment with her love.
But then Ash realizes she and Aspen aren’t alone.
There are the mean cats! The ones that tried to kill her- and killed Aspen.
“Aspen!” Ash screams.
A cat leaps on Ash, pressing on her throat, and biting down.
Even though this is a dream, Ash swears she feels pain.
“Don’t hurt her!” Aspen yowls, shoving the cat off of Ash.
“Aspen!” Ash meows.
“Run!” Aspen screams as the rouge bites his throat, blood bubbling up.
Ash runs. She will never see Aspen again.
Ash woke up, shaking.
“Aspen…” she mews, her grief fresh as the day Aspen died.

~Tempest~
Tempest led Hurricane to the corner. “Hurricane, what’s wrong?”
Hurricane sighed. “I just… I can’t believe she’s really gone.”
Tempest blinked sympathetically. “That is what you said ages ago. She has been gone for a while.”
Hurricane stared into her eyes. “No, I mean Athena. She’s dead… and I guess I’m just grieving.”
Tempest closed her eyes briefly. “But also for someone else.”
Hurricane looked away. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Hurricane…” Tempest smiled at him subtly. “There’s someone you will want to see.” She paused. “Again.”
The vixen padded away for a few seconds, then came back. She was leading a scarred wolf who was glancing around, shaking slightly.
Hurricane sat up, and gasped. “No way…”
The wolf glanced at him, then stopped. “Hurricane?”
(That’s what I did with Elderberry. 😛 That long thread was beginning to look confusing!)
~Slash~
Slash stared at the newcomer. “Who is that?” she asked.
~Hurricane~
Hurricane glanced at the she-wolf. “Would you like to…” He trailed off.
The wolf noticed the chicken’s weapon. She shook her head rapidly.
“Okay.” Hurricane smiled at her. “Everyone, this is Tamar. She… um, I…” He wrapped his tail around her.
“Oh,” purred Cody.
Yuri pads up to the newcomer. Dipping her head, she barks, “Welcome, Tamar.”
~Hurricane~
“That’s Yuri,” murmured Hurricane. Tamar dipped her head.
~Tamar~
Tamar glanced around doubtfully. Everything around here… so strange. She moved closer to Hurricane.
Suddenly three young cougars leapt in front of her, snarling.
“Stranger!” yelled one.
Another one shouted. “She’s hurting Hurricane!”
“Get her!” screeched the last one. Tamar braced herself. One leapt on her back, one swiped at her tail and the last had somehow put her entire paw in its mouth, and was now hanging from the wolf’s right paw. She shook it up and down, but the cub didn’t let go.
Tamar whispered something to Hurricane in a different language.
Hurricane chuckled. “Ken, yes.”
Tamar squealed. “You learning my language!”
~Slash~
“Cubs, let go!” Slash ordered sternly, “She did nothing to hurt Hurricane.”
“Hey! Stop that at once!” Yuri barks sternly. “What has Tamar done to you? There is no reason to hurt her!”
~Elderberry~
Elderberry helps Raven into the ambulance.
~Rain~ (in reply to Umbra. You made that comment two days ago and I just saw it, oops! 😛 I should start keeping up with the rp better)
Rain put her wing around the cougar cub, the beginning of a tear glistening in one of her blue eyes. “I know,” she murmured.
Lucy~ (to Sadie, the comment thread earlier was getting kinda long 😛 )
“Don’t worry! We’ll find Smokey!” Lucy said.

“Lucy’s right. We won’t stop until your brother is safe and sound.” Molly said.
Dovewing defender~Sadie~
“You’re such good friends!” Sadie’s tail wagged as she blinked gratefully at the lynx and cow, “Thank you!”
Lucy~
“You’re welcome!” Lucy said.
Dovewing defenderCarlotta~
Carlotta looked closely at the ground. “Look!” she gasped. “I think I see muddy paw prints! Sadie, does Smokey ever like to play in the mud?”
Dovewing defender~Sadie~
Sadie let out a yip at the new clue. “Yes!” she exclaimed. For the first time there was a flicker of amusement and exasperation in her eyes, “Oh, he’s probably the messiest puppy I’ve ever met- always managing to find mud, then trailing it all over the rug…”
She examined the paw prints, then turned to her friends. “I think these are his!” she barked hopefully.
