Noticing their worried expressions, Dusty walked up to Sadie, Carlotta, Lucy, and Molly. “Are you worried about Victoria, too? I haven’t seen her all day.”
Molly~
“Huh. You’re right. I haven’t see her since yesterday, I think.” Molly said. She tilted her head. “I wonder where she could be?”
Carlotta~
“Do you think she got lost, like Smokey?” Carlotta asked.
Molly~
Molly shrugged. “Perhaps. What do you guys think?” she asked her friends.
~Sadie~
“Smokey and Victoria are close friends,” Sadie yips, “perhaps they’re both lost together!”
Carlotta~
“Hopefully no one else will get lost.” Carlotta said.
~Bree~
Overhearing about the lost puppy, Bree rushed up to Sadie and her friends. “I’ll help you guys find Smokey!” she said quickly, giving Sadie a reassuring smile.
Molly~
“With so many of us helping to look,” Molly says to Sadie, “we’ll find Smokey in no time!”
Carlotta~
“I wonder where these paw prints lead,” Carlotta commented, and started to follow the paw prints she’d spotted a minute before.
Ash~
Ash watched as her friends started to follow the paw prints.
“Good luck!” she called.
Lucy~
Lucy called back to Ash, “Good luck to you as well!”
Ash~
“I’m not actually doing anything that involves luck, but thanks.” Ash replied.
~Bree~
“Yes!” Bree gave Molly a nod, “I’m sure we’ll find him if we work as a team! Let’s help Carlotta follow the paw prints.”
Baby Pluto~ (a new character I made! He’s a puppy, and my favorite stuffed animal. 🙂 )
“Smokey’s lost!” Baby Pluto exclaimed, overhearing some animals’ conversation.
“Can I help look for him? He’s my friend! What if he gets hurt?”
~Sadie~
“You can help,” Sadie said, “but stay close to us.”
Baby Pluto~
“Okay!” Baby Pluto woofed. He started sniffing the ground.
~Tamar~
Tamar sighed. It was good to be back with her friends, Hurricane, and Tempest.
Hurricane looked at her. “I’m sorry about the cubs. Their mother… died.”
Tamar blinked. “Who was the mother?”
“Athena.”
Tamar’s eyes widened with shock and sadness. “Athena, she… she dead?”
~Yuri~ (Captain asked me to take over playing for Yuri)
There was a look of deep sympathy in Yuri’s eyes. “Yes,” she said sadly, “I am so sorry.”
~Slash~
Slash’s usually fierce expression softened. “She died bravely,” she clucked.
Jazzy~
As Jazzy walked into the town, she saw some of the animals standing around looking worried.
“What is it?” she asked.
Kordi~
Kordi was wondering the same thing.
“Yeah, what’s going on? Can we help?” she asked.
~Cherryshine~
“Me, too!” Cherry bounced after her friends, “I’ll help, too!”
~Bree~
“We have a lost puppy,” Bree explained, “But we’ll find him. You can help if you want.”
Kordi~
“Oh dear. Being lost is never good!” Kordi said.
Carlotta~
“We’re following these paw prints, so come on.” Carlotta said.
Jazzy~
“What if he wanders too close to Koshiro’s mansion?” Jazzy whispered to Kordi.
Kordi~
“Let’s not think about that.” Kordi said.
Lucy~
Lucy overheard something about a mansion.
“Oooh, a mansion?” she said.
Molly~
Molly knew that since Lucy was new, she probably wasn’t aware of Koshiro yet.
She waited for someone else to explain- thinking about Koshiro’s mansion brought back bad memories…
Wishspring~ (A new character I made, she’s a cat)
Wishspring stretched out on the bench where she was resting.
Willowbranch~ (another new character I just made, she’s also a cat)
“Wishspring!” Willowbranch mewed, “did you hear what our friends were just talking about?”
Wishspring~
“Love, I was asleep,” Wishspring informed her mate, flicking her tail.
Willowbranch~
“A puppy named Smokey’s lost.” Willowbranch told Wishspring.
Wishspring~
“Smokey? That puppy who’s always tracking mud everywhere?”
Willowbranch~
“Yes, him. I think we should help look for him.” Willowbranch meowed.
Wishspring ~
Getting up from the bench, Wishspring mewed, “Yeah, we should. He can be a little annoying-“ (Willowbranch shot Wishspring a look)- “but honestly I do care for him.”
Willowbranch~
“Wait up!” Willowbranch called to the group of animals.
“We’re going to help look, too!”
~Tamar~
Tamar was shaking. She looked at the cubs surrounding her, then picked up the nearest one and started licking it rapidly. “Do not worry, cub. You will be safe.” She placed it down, and wrapped her tail around all of them. “I will keep you safe and warm.”

~Sadie~ (in reply to Carlotta about the paw prints)
Sadie let out a yip at the new clue. “Yes!” she exclaimed. For the first time there was a flicker of amusement and exasperation in her eyes, “Oh, he’s probably the messiest puppy I’ve ever met- always managing to find mud, then trailing it all over the rug…”
She examined the paw prints, then turned to her friends. “I think these are his!” she barked hopefully.
Molly~
“Great!” Molly said.
Ash~
Ash’s kits were about 12 days old now. She rarely left them alone, preferring to stay near them.
Ash looked down at Stormy, Shade, and Athena, like she’d done so many times before.
But this time, little eyes looked back at her.
“Your eyes have opened!” Ash exclaimed joyfully, purring.
Stormy~
Stormy blinked. It was too bright! Maybe he should close his eyes again, it was dark, but it was good.
Athena~
Athena gasped. The world was so big! She rolled over, trying to take it all in.
Shade~
Shade looked around. She saw a cat, way bigger than her.
She’d known this cat for days. But never had she laid eyes on her before.
This had to be Ash.
Before her eyes had opened, Shade had heard her mother talk to her.
So. This was her.
Ash~
“Stormy. Athena. Shade.” Ash mewed.
“I am your mother.”
Shade~
Shade stared intently at her mother.
“Mother?” she mewed.
The word felt strange in her mouth. She’d never spoke before this.
Stormy~
Stormy buried his face into Ash’s fur.
He hated this. It was too bright, too overwhelming, too much.
He wanted to un-open his eyes.
Things had been better that way.
Shade~
Shade curiously looked around her. There were some things she didn’t even know what were, but she knew she’d learn them in time.
~Bree~
“Your kits are very cute!” Bree said to Ash, then turned to the kits. “Hello there, little ones,” she smiled at them.
~Cherryshine~
“Their eyes are open!” Cherryshine gasped- she had been waiting for this day for a long time. She dashed over to the kits.
~Bree~
“Careful, Cherry,” Bree laughed as her friend rushed over, “They are still very little.”
~Cherryshine~
Giving Bree a nod, Cherryshine looked at the kits. “Hi! My name is Cherryshine,” she introduced herself, “But you can call me Cherry.”
Stormy~
“Hi!” Stormy mewed.
Athena~
“Mother? What kind of animals are those?” Athena asked, completely bewildered.
Shade~
“They don’t have paws!” Shade exclaimed, horrified.
Ash~
“They’re not cats,” Ash purred. “They’re chickens!”

“Chickens look weird.” Athena announced.
Ash~
“Athena, don’t be rude!” Ash exclaimed, wondering what Cherryshine and Bree would say.
Shade~
“I kind of agree.” Shade whispered to Athena. “But don’t tell Mother.”
Stormy~
Stormy wasn’t interested in chickens.
So he didn’t join in on his sisters’ conversation.

~Peachy~
Nervously, Peachy peered out from behind a bush.
She was new here- she hardly knew anyone.
The young hen thought about going up to start a conversation, but she didn’t want to make a mistake and accidentally cause an argument. Plus, what if they wouldn’t like her?
So she waited, silently, for someone to come to her.
Willowbranch~
Willowbranch paused. She’d been about to follow the group that was going to find Smokey, but now she saw a nervous looking chicken.
“Hello,” she said kindly.
“I’m Willowbranch. What’s your name? This is my mate, Wishspring.”
Wishspring ~
Wishspring flicked her tail, and mewed, “Hi.”
Lucy~
Lucy saw a chicken she did not know.
“Hiya!” she exclaimed.
“I’m Lucy! Are you new to town? I’m new-ish as well! Cool, you’re a chicken! I’ve met several chickens since I’ve been here! They’re all nice, and I’m sure you are too! I’m a lynx, not a chicken, but I’m nice! I think!”
Lucy finally stopped talking, and smiled.
Molly~
Molly was saved from having to explain about Koshiro when she saw Lucy blinding over to a chicken.
The chicken appeared nervous. Molly realized she was probably new to town.
“Hi. I’m Molly.” she said to the chicken.
Baby Pluto~
“Hi!” Baby Pluto woofed.
“I’m Baby Pluto Dogboneness. I go by Baby Pluto, though, because it would be weird to just go by “Baby”, which is technically my first name,” Baby Pluto said.
{I actually have Baby Pluto with me as I’m typing this! How ironic!}

“Yeah, Baby Pluto does sound better than just Baby,” Bree laughed.
Baby Pluto~
“It does,” Baby Pluto agreed.
~Peachy~ (replying all the animals who greeted her)
“I’m Peachy,” she said with a shy smile, “It’s nice to meet you, too.” Peachy was relieved that all the animals seemed friendly. She decided she could be their friend easily.
Lucy~
“Carlotta! Oh no,” Lucy said, her ears flatting and getting all scared ish.
(Oops, replied to the wrong comment! Pretend I replied to the Carlotta getting stepped on one.)
Carlotta~
“Why are you all walking away? We need to find Smokey!” Carlotta exclaimed.
Jazzy~
“There’s a new chicken! We want to greet her.” Jazzy explained.
Carlotta~
Carlotta sighed. “Very well.” she said, and scurried over.
Kordi~
Kordi started trotting, eager to meet the new chicken, when suddenly there was a cry of pain.
Jazzy~
Jazzy looked at her friend, horrified. “I think you just stepped on Carlotta!”
Carlotta~
“Ow.” Carlotta said.
Kordi~
Kordi started freaking out. “Oh my gosh! If Carlotta dies it’ll be all my fault!”
Jazzy~
“Kordi! Don’t blame yourself.” Her voice shaking, Jazzy said, “I’d never blame you.”
Kordi~
“Where’s Elderberry?” Kordi asked, a hint of panic still in her voice.
{I am not going to kill Carlotta off, BTW.}
HazelFall forever~Bree~
“Don’t worry, I’ll get Elderberry!” Bree called, then rushed away.
Kordi~
Kordi felt horrible. It was her fault, never mind what Jazzy said.
Guilt spread through her.
Jazzy~
Jazzy noticed an expression of guilt on her friend’s face.
“Kordi, Carlotta is going to be alright,” she said, intertwining her orange and black striped tail with Kordi’s blue one.
~Rain~
Rain gave Kordi a sympathetic glance. “It’s okay, Kordi,” she murmured, “Carlotta will be okay- Elderberry is a skilled doctor. She’ll know what to do. And none of this is your fault,” she added, “You didn’t do it on purpose, which means it’s not your fault.” She brushed lightly against Kordi’s side.
~Cherryshine~
Cherryshine nodded. “Yeah, it’s not your fault,” she clucked, “Rain’s right.”
Kordi~
“Thanks, guys.” Kordi said.
~Peachy~
Forgetting her nervousness, Peachy rushed over to the spider and bent over her. “It’ll be okay,” she said, “That nice chicken went to get help.”
Very carefully, she straightened out the spider’s bent leg, hoping that it would help enough until the doctor got there.
Carlotta~
“Thank you.” Carlotta murmured. She would be fine. It wasn’t like the worst she’d gone through.
Molly~
“It’ll be alright, Carlotta.” Molly said, feeling sympathy for her friend. Being stepped on had to hurt!
Carlotta~
“Oh, it’s not like this is the first time I’ve been stepped on.” Carlotta said.
Willowbranch~
“You’ve been stepped on before?” screeched Willowbranch.
Wishspring~ “Calm down, dear.” Wishspring murmured to Willowbranch.
Carlotta~
“Oui! I’ve been stepped on before. When I lived in Koshiro’s mansion, he stepped on me once. He didn’t notice. I was fine, though.” Carlotta said.
Baby Pluto~
Baby Pluto’s eyes widened. “Wow, Carlotta!” he barked.
“I hope nobody ever steps on me,” he added.
Jazzy~
“Don’t worry, Baby Pluto.” Jazzy said.
“You’re a puppy, not a spider! Nobody’s going to step on you.”
(yikes ive been inactive for a very looooooong time ;w;)~Hurricane~
Tamar smiled at Hurricane. “Things are perfect. They’re finally perfect.”
Not yet. Hurricane grinned. “Come on, there’s something I want to show you.”
The two ran out of the town, and into a wide field. Tamar looked confused. “What did you want to show me?”
He nodded behind her. “Look there!”
Tamar turned and sat down. “I can’t see anything!”
Hurricane started to slowly stalk her, unsheathing his claws. “Keep looking…”
“Hurricane, I-” Her words cut off to a scream as Hurricane leapt on her back, slicing her throat. She went limp.
Hurricane let go, satisfied. He picked up the body, and walked away. “I’m sorry, my love, but nothing will stand in the way of my revenge.” He padded over to the nearby stream, and washed his bloodstained paws.
As he ran back to the town, a familiar gruff voice murmured in the wind. “Oh, brother, what have you become?”
He ran into the town. He stopped, and put Tamar on the ground. “Everyone!” Many heads swivelled round. Folis flew up to him. “Oh no! What happened?”
“We were ambushed,” panted Hurricane. He looked around. Cody and Raven were sitting together, sharing a rabbit.
He pointed at Raven. “By her.”
~Peachy~
Peachy cast a nervous glance at Raven, then slipped behind Rain and Bree.
~Slash~
“Why would you even do such a thing, Raven!?” Slash clucked harshly, staring at Tamar’s body in disbelief.
~Jenny~
Despite a squeal of protest from Peachy, Jenny walked up to Raven. “Raven, what happened?” she tried to cluck gently despite her shock, “Tell me your side of the story.”
Ash~
Ash snarled, “Why? Why would she do that?”
Stormy~
Afraid, Stormy scooted closer to his mother.
Shade~
“A-ambushed?” mewed Shade, shaking.
Athena~
“What’s going on? Please, tell me! I don’t understand!” meowed Athena, looking around for somebody to explain.
~Raven and Cody~
“She didn’t!” protested Cody. “Raven wouldn’t hurt a fly!” Cody glanced at her friend. Raven was in total shock.
Nyx was staring into space. “What happened on your hunt?”
Cody stood up. “Raven and I went into the forest and we decided to split up to-”
“Raven was left alone,” Hurricane growled. “That is evidence that she killed my mate!”
~Dusty~
“She can’t have…” Dusty murmured to herself, tears welling up in her brown eyes, “She just can’t have.” Her voice was weak, as if she couldn’t bear to believe such a terrible truth. She had trusted Raven!
~Fireblaze~
“Well she did! At least… we think,” Fireblaze snapped at her friend unsympathetically although she felt a pang of doubt. She herself would have liked to find proof that Raven was innocent- but Dusty’s whining was not the way to solve any mystery!
~Elderberry~
Elderberry rushed up to Carlotta. Bree had explained the whole thing already, so instead of asking any questions she got right to work treating the spider.
Carlotta~
“Thank you, Elderberry.” Carlotta murmured, staying very still so Elderberry could heal her properly.
