  • “I’M FINALLY A WARRIOR!” Darkjay screeched, to the amusement of everyone in the crowd. “Oops sorry,” she whispered. “I have to sit vigil now, right?”
“Everyone is excited at their warrior ceremony,” Lightningshard informed. “Though not always that vocally.”
“Really? I was just scared to death I’d get a stupid name,” Bluefire joked. “Or something ridiculously long.”
“Is my name stupid?” Darkjay asked suddenly.
“I think Darkjay is a beautiful name,” Lightningshard admitted. Then he seemed to realize what he’d said. “Umm…”
“I think I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone,” Bluefire teased, padding off to talk to one of the other warriors. Darkjay and Lightningshard both blushed and stared at their paws.

(BTW Lightningshard and Darkjay end up mates with kits who I already have names/fursonas for)

    • Shadepaw scrambled up to Darkjay, bouncing on her paws. “I can’t wait to be a warrior too!” She squeaked.
Twilightwhisper gave her a glare. “You never will if you don’t take it seriously.” He growled.
Shadepaw looked at her paws in shame, and nodded meekly at her mentor.

  • Cheetahstar gazed around the camp, until her gaze landed on S’more. Her eyes widened, and she stood up to make sure it really was him. Once she knew it was, she tried to keep herself from scrambling over to him. She had known S’more since she was a kit, and he had practically raised her. Then why did he run away?
Her heart fell when she thought of the day S’more had left. They had thought he had been captured, and had looked everywhere, but then they found his scent along the border, and no blood. So they came to the conclusion that he had just tired of Clan life and left. So why was he back now?
She padded over to him, trying to keep from quivering in anticipation. “S’more, can you see me in my den?” She asked the tom.

      • Cheetahstar sat down in front of S’more, making sure that she kept emotion out of her gaze. “You have been gone a long time. Why did you come back now?”

        • sighs… “Cheetastar… I can explain my foolishnes… So, just… let me start from the begining. I went for a walk, you know, to stretch my legs and all and I… Er… Found a very, big, flttery butterfly, and I was though… it has been such a long time since I have had a nice game of catsh the Wings… you know? and so I chased it, and it kept landing, then fluttering away, then landing… I thought it was leading me somewhere. It took me across the border, and I was so caught up in the chase, I didn’t smell the sent line, and before I knew it, I was In a twoleg den. The butterfly paused in a twoleg yard, and stettled of a weird plant, it smelled all tangy, and bitter, and it reminded me of Wrenflights den. When i tried to pounce on it, it fluttered out of reach, and landed on the same plant. I thought it might be important, but then… I realized how far i had come, and how i sudenly felt lost, and alone, and so I left it, and wandered through the ally ways, until… this… t-twoleg grabbed me in a weird… cobweb, attatched to a stick, and took me away in a monster.” he paused, shuddering asd he remebered the dank, discustion fumes from that beast, ” … he stoped at a massive den, and took me inside, and shoved me in a cage… I was stuck there for what must have been two moons, eating their water, drinking their food… until a young twoleg girl came in at what must have been Moon high, with a strange stick that shot a narrow beam of light on the ground. she opened all the cages with this horrid claw, that snapped the bars, and we fled. eventually I made it back here…. Oh Cheetahstar, I am so sorry for what I did! I will never leave the borders again, I promise!” He finnsihed his story, and gazed at his paws. he glanced up at Cheetahstar. “please forgive me, I love this clan, I never ment to leave.”

  • “Oh, S’more. I’m so sorry. I’m sure the whole Clan will forgive you.” Cheetahstar murmured gently to the tom. Then she chuckled. “I can’t believe you went through all this trouble for a butterfly. You can find an apprentice to gather moss to make you a new nest in the elder’s den… I’m sure they’ll love your story.”

    • Sighs again, but in relief this time. He dips his head to his beloved leader. “thank you so much Cheetahstar. For believing me, and for beleiving in me.” he padded out of the den, his heart light. He thought ‘well, I suppose Darkjay can’t do my bedding anymore, so…. I will have to find someone else.’ He scanned the clearing, spotting Robinpaw. She was looking his way, and so he walked over to her “Hey there! I’m… er… I’ve been away for a while, and my old nest is all but gone. Can you grab me some moss? I can tell you a story while your weaving the bracken.” he purred, glad to feel at home once again.

  • Bluefire watched Lightningshard and Darkjay pad out of camp to go hunting. Again. “When is he going to work up the nerve to ask her to be his mate?” The she-cat wondered. “Everyone knows they’re in love.”

Darkjay stopped by the stream, hoping to score a couple of fish. She felt Lightningshard’s pelt brush against hers as he crouched beside her. “Um… I actually was never taught how to fish,” he admitted. Darkjay laughed.
“Well, it’s simple. Watch me.” She slid her paw into the water, slowly moving it under a fish. Then she jerked back, flipping the fish onto the bank before pouncing and delivering the killing bite. “See? Easy.”
“Says you,” Lightningshard teased. He slipped a paw into the water and attempted to replicate her move, but only ended up slapping himself in the face with the fish before it splashed back into the stream. Darkjay collapsed on the ground, shaking with laughter, as he shook water off of his face.
“Wow,” Darkjay sputtered when she pulled herself together. “You really can’t fish.”
“Ha ha,” Lightningshard said dryly. “Very funny.” He paused, thinking. “Hey… there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you…”

“Bluefire!” Darkjay bounded up to her former mentor. “BluefireBluefireBluefireBluefireBluefire!!!!!”
“What is it?” Bluefire said, grinning.
“LightningshardaskedmetobehismateandIsaidyes,” Darkjay replied in one breath.
    “…what?”
“She means we’re mates now,” Lightningshard clarified, padding up behind Darkjay.
“Well it took you long enough!” Bluefire exclaimed, to the amusement of some passing warriors.

  • Shadepaw padded into the medicine den, limping on her paw painfully. “Wrenfeather? Are you in here?” She called.

    • “Well, Twilightwhisper was having me do some advanced training exercises, and I kind of… erm… fell onto a thorn bush.” Shadepaw murmed. She put her paw on the ground, and winced in pain. “So now there’s a thorn in my pad!” She wailed.

  • Bluefire, Lightningshard, and Darkjay crept through the forest, following the scent of squirrel. Bluefire flicked her tail, stopping them. She crouched, catching sight of the large squirrel clinging to a branch. Springing forwards, she vaulted up the tree and caught the squirrel. “Nice job,” Darkjay commented.
“Thanks,” Bluefire said as she hopped down. “This should be enough, let’s head back.” The patrol padded back to camp, collecting their prey along the way. They’d caught a crow, three mice, a rabbit, two voles, and Bluefire’s squirrel. Cheetahstar would be pleased.

    • Cheetahstar exited her den just as the patrol came into camp. “Wow! StarClan has been kind to us.”
