Okay, so this post is a little later than what I would’ve wanted, but I’ve had a busy week 😛 I’m also a little tired, so, only one cat pic this time 😛 You’re getting plenty from Cadvent, anyway...
The seventh edition of the Blog Monthly is here – written by Lil, fresh off the printing press Hello, everyone!! The Blog Monthly is back and better than ever! I hope you all love this edition, in my opinion it is one...
Moon-
Moon slunk around in the shadows, watching the exchange. As Remy bumped into the two cats, she accidentally nicked her paw by stepping on a sharp rock. “Ouch!” she cried, giving away her cover.
Remy pricked his ears and turned to Moon, “Are you ok?” He asked
-Thorne
“Yes, sorry,” Thorne replied sheepishly to the cat that had bumped into him. “I’m so clumsy-” He broke off as a white she-cat stumbled into the open. How many cats lived here? “Were you spying on us?” Saffron asked a bit too sharply. “Keep your fur on,” Thorne teased. “Anyway, I’m Thorne, and my sister is Saffron. We’re new.”
“Uh…hello.” Moon said sheepishly. “Welcome to the city!” She eyed them, wondering why they hadn’t been angry. After all, every cat she had ever known in her old home would have chased her off immediately. The only cat she really knew wouldn’t do that, but that was Spirit, and she was really annoying.
A Random cat says boo than walks away
(Please make a character)
~Azula~
Azula climbed up the fence in her Twoleg’s backyard, looking around for a cat to talk to. She was bored.
Spirit was still cowering in the corner, shaking from the events that had happened yesterday. She spotted Azula in the fence and wondered if she should go greet her. She tried heaving herself to her feet but she was too weak from not eating or drinking.
*on the fence*
Ember walked into her house and glanced around before jumping into the fence. She waved her tail to Spirit, “Are you ok?” She called
Spirit shook her head, and promptly fainted.
Ember gasped and ran over to her, “Spirit?” She nudged Spirit worriedly. Ember gently grabbed her by the scruff and started to drag her to her house.
Spirit came to, and, seeing Ember dragging her, she tried to protest. “No its fine, you don’t have to worry!” she said in forced cheerfulness. “I can walk.”
After this announcement however, she tried to get to her feet and could only stagger around, then fell in a heap of fur to the ground. “Maybe you’re right.” she said quietly, hating needing help, for she was normally the one helping, and didn’t want to accept it. But she sighed, and let Ember help her into the house.
~Jay~
Jay ran over from his garden, where he had witnessed Spirit faint. “Here, let me help.” He meowed, supporting Spirit from the other side.
“thanks” Ember meowed, “Have you been there since yesterday?” She asked Spirit worriedly
“No.” Spirit sighed.
Blizzard trotted into the household and came to a screeching halt. Pieces of shattered glass layed on the floor. Spirit, Ember, and Jay come inside. “Stay back” she hissed. “It’s glass. I don’t know if it’s dangerous or not.. do NOT step on it” Then the pieces started to glow. Ice started to form on the tips of Blizzard’s fur, and she crouched down, ready to attack. The glass started to form into a cat, but then Blizzards fur released the cold air and it even made the cats in the back shiver. “Chill Blizzy, for real!” Winter laughed, stretching her legs, “You’ve got to get used to our powers!”
(sorry Daydream, but we dont actually have our powers yet, but the time the humans come to choose the cats to be experimented on will be very soon, so lets just say they were poking at the glass, trying to figure out if it was dangerous, is that ok?)
Spirit eyed the shattered glass. “Where are the humans?” she asked worriedly. Just then, Moon ran into the house and skidded to a stop. “I just spoke to the other cats, and this is happening everywhere! All the housefolk were loaded into big monsters, and they are taking cats too!” Spirit’s eyes widened. “We have to get out of here! Leave me behind, and run for your lives. I’ll be fine.”
~Jay~
“No!” Jay hissed. Although usually quiet and meek, when it came to his friends, Jay could be very fierce and protective. “Look, let’s go find my denmate, Azula. She might know what to do.” Jay meowed, hoping Azula would know something. The gossipy she-cat was always running around the neighborhood, looking for all the new drama. If anyone knew what happened, Azula would.
“But…” Spirit’s voice trailed off as Moon glared at her. “We go together, or not at all!” Spirit looked at her, confused. She had thought Moon hated her.
~Azula~
Sitting on her fence, Azula perked her ears after hearing a commotion coming from down the street. ‘I wonder what that’s all about.’ She thought, a rush of excitement rushing over her. Azula hoped that maybe it would be some new drama that she could watch. Jumping down from her fence, Azula padded in the direction of the noise. ‘Weird.’ She thought after noticing that the normally busy Thunderpath was oddly silent and deserted. She couldn’t even notice any monsters, not even in the Monster Dens they usually nested in. She shrugged it off. Oh well. The less monsters near her home, the better. She had known one too many a cat who had been hurt, or even killed by the blasted things. Most of the time she even wondered why her housefolk even had one. As Azula neared the noises, she froze. There were a whole bunch of not-housefolks gathered there, but not wearing the usual twoleg furs. No, they were wearing long, white furs and big things were covering their faces. ‘I have to get out of here!’ Azula thought, racing away from the scene, trying to find Jay. He needed to hear about this so they could stay far away from those not-housefolk! She couldn’t risk anything happening to her best friend. She would warn the others, too, but Jay first. If anything happened to the cat she thought of as a younger brother, Azula wasn’t sure what she’d do.
~Flurry
Flurry leapt up on to her fence. She gazed at the scenery, but then something caught her eyes. Housefolk, but not her housefolk! They were shoving cats in the trunks of large monsters! Then, one took out a large, shiny thorn. It was the biggest thorn she’d ever seen! And that twoleg came walking over. She jumped off her fence and scrambled into a bush. She watched as Shiver and Blizzard attacked the twoleg after it cut the fencepost down. Then it’s friends came, and shoved them into a cage. The cage was huge! It could fit four cats. A tear trickled down her face as the other cats were kidnapped. She wanted to stay home and safe, but she couldn’t bare to leave her sisters and mate. She watched as Wispy fought for Thunderstorm and how they both were captured. She was running out of time! Flurry took a deep breath and slowly walked out, shaking the leaves off her fur. Flurry sat down and looked at the twolegs. Then, she got to her paws, and slowly walked into the cage with her sisters and mate, now everyone in the den was captured.
Ember looked around with wide scared eyes as twolegs approached her, “What’s happening?” She whimpered as one of them picked her up, her whole body trembled as the twoleg started walking toward the front door.
Remy pricked his ears, “Why is it so quiet?” He asked, “Where have all the twolegs gone?”
Moon, supporting Spirit on her shoulder, ran out of the house with Jay. They looked around, trying to spot Azula, when they noticed Ember being picked up by a Twoleg. Just then, while nobody was looking, a Twoleg ran up and grabbed Spirit! Moon leaped at it, but another one grabbed her. They were taken away and loaded into the back of a HUGE monster.
~Jay~
Before the twolegs could grab him, Jay raced away to find Azula. At least then if they got captured, they would be together. Finally, when Jay was far enough away from the twolegs, Jay slowed to a walk, sobbing. He should have protected his friends! Suddenly, a cat crashed into him.
~Azula~
“Jay!” Azula cried, leaping off him. “Oh, finally! I found you! There are these weird twolegs going around and kidnapping cats, and-“ “I know.” Jay cut her off miserably. “They already got Moon and Spirit.” Azula’s eyes widened. “No… oh, oh no…” She gasped, leaping forward to comfort Jay. Suddenly, Jay’s eyes widened in fear. “What?” Azula asked before turning around, only to stare right at the face of the not-housefolk she had seen earlier. Then, it grabbed both Azula and Jay and threw them in a cage! “At least we’re together.” Azula whispered.
Remy hissed as a twoleg picked him up, “Get away from me!” He snarled. The twoleg ignored him and put him in the monster. “What’s happening?” He yowled over the noise.
Ember coward in fear as the engine started, She whimpered, her paws were frozen with fear as the monster started driving.
Moon was hunched over in the corner of the cage, shaking with fear. Her eyes darted around wildly, and eventually got used to the darkness. Her eyes adjusted, and she saw Spirit crouching in another cage, while Ember was crouched in a cage on top of Remy’s cage. -There are so many cats here!- she thought, eyes scanning the room. -I hope Jay and Azula got away.- But no, they hadn’t and she saw them in another cage across the room. -Where are we going?-
~Ember~
Ember shook uncontrollably as the monster started moving, she wanted to talk to the others, to find out where she was going, but all she could manage was a whimper.
~Remy~
Remy pushed his face against the bars, trying to see the other cats, “Hello?” He called, “Is anyone else there?”
~Azula~
“I’m here! It’s me, Azula, and Jay is here, too!” She meowed, talking fast. Jay was shaking besides her. “Shh!” Jay whispered, whiskers twitching with anxiety. “We don’t know what these not-housefolk want to do with us!” He hissed, ears folding back. Azula felt a stab of pity for her little brother. She reached out her tail and twined hers with his. “It’s okay.” She murmured, pulling him close. She could feel him shaking against her furry chest. “We will all be okay.” Azula promised, trying to sound hopeful while also hoping that she wasn’t lying to Jay. Great cat, she was hoping she wasn’t lying to herself.
Remy felt partially relieved, at least I’m not alone, he thought, “Are you ok?” He asked Azula
“Spirit’s not.” Moon mewed. She’s bleeding and can’t walk-I can see from here.” Spirit shook her head. “No, I’m fine. Worry about some other cat.” Moon just glared at her, because that wasn’t the truth and they both knew it.
~Azula~
“I’m fine.” Azula called. “There’s some cobwebs in the corner of our cage.” Jay meowed, surprising Azula. Jay pulled away and wrapped the cobwebs around his paws. Hobbling over to the front of the cage he stuck his paw out. “Can anyone reach the cobwebs?” He called. “If you can, pass them to Spirit so Moon can apply them to her wound to stop the bleeding.”
Remy reached his paw, streaching it until he felt the cobwebs, “I think I have them” he meowed, extending his claws to hook the cobwebs.
~Remy~
He peeked up at Ember, trying to see through the cage bottom, “Are you ok?” He asked her.
~Ember~
Ember stared at the caged door, the whites of her eyes showing in terror. She managed to nod through her shaking, she tried to force her voice to work, but it wouldn’t.
~Remy~
“Can anyone see Ember?” He asked, concerned for her. He couldn’t see if she had nodded, and wanted to make sure she wasn’t injured.
Wispy~
As the she-cat attacked the twoleg, she managed to give the two leg a large cut on its arm. Another twoleg picked her up and threw her into the cage with Ember, hitting her head hard in the process.
Winter~
The she-cat tried to break out. “Help me!” she yowled. Then she was attacked! A gray tom leapt onto her, but it was Thunderstorm!
~Flurry
Flurry had her ears against the back of the cage and she heard the twolegs. “So you infected the spray, Johnny?”
“Yup! Hopefully those cats could be seriously injured after, then we’d be closer to getting rid of all those pesky felines in Great Britain! Right Jarred?”
“Of course!” Flurry gulped in fear. Were the twolegs planning to kill them?
Ember shook violently, “Where are we going?” She managed to whimper.
“I don’t know.” Moon said. “But wherever it is, I don’t think its good. But if we help each other we should be alright.” Then she grabbed the cobwebs from Remy and started briskly applying them to Spirit’s wound, embarrassed because she didn’t normally talk to other cats this way, and wasn’t sure what they would think.
Berry skunk away in his cage he was a stray nearby when he was picked up my a twoleg! He didn’t want to interact with any of these low life kittypet.
Meanwhile a cat named crystal heard all the commotion she poked her head out to see spirit hurt “what’s happened!” She meowed in shock she didn’t even know these cats because she was in a different neighborhood but she wanted to help
“Spi- this cat is hurt. Look for cobwebs.” Moon gruffly said to the other cat.
Tiger~
Tiger glanced around nervously. Who were these cats? He had just been an alley cat living in the city with a group of scavengers, when he had been captured by a Twoleg! They had tried to do this before, but with cages. He hadn’t been alive then, but stories were told of a cat who came from a forest, a long way from here, who helped get rid of the cages and Twolegs. In fact, that was the cat Tiger had been named after. He wished he could help all the other cats like the legendary Tigerheart, but he didn’t know how. -They would probably laugh at me, and I would be humiliated.- he thought. -No, its better to keep hiding.- That is what his sister would say, and he wished she was still here. A cat named Raven had told him he had seen her get hit by a monster. He sighed. Better not bring memories of that back now. He wished he had someone to talk to, other then Raven, who was in the cage next to his. His sister had always warned about Raven. -He cares for nothing and nocat.- he recalled his sister saying. Speaking of his sister, one of the other cats from the other town sounded familiar…
Raven~ Raven yawned. He had been about to go looking for cream or milk that the housefolk had set out, but he had been grabbed by another housefolk and put in this cage. Speaking of which, where was the food around here? His stomach grumbled and he sat down patiently to wait for the meal he was sure he was to be served soon. After all, no housefolk had ever been able to resist his big eyes and plaintive mewing. He glanced over and noticed some cobwebs in the corner . Hadn’t the white female cat been asking for those? -Well if they’re important to her, she might trade something for them. Food, for instance.- he thought. Reaching out with his paw, he grabbed the cobwebs and tucked them under his stomach. “Hello?” he mewed. “I have cobwebs.”
-But you’re not getting them- he thought privately. He then waited for an answer from one of the other cats.
Remy looked hopeful, “Can you reach Moon?” He asked
Moon looked up. “Huh?” Raven slyly grinned. “I’ll give you the cobwebs….IF you give me something in return.” Moon narrowed her eyes. “What’s your name?” “Raven.” Moon was knocked back as memories surged through her. Her little brother. Her getting washed away in a flood. Living on the streets. A fresh wave of pain escaped her. She had gone back to her city looking for him, but he wasn’t there. A whimper escaped her. “Tiger!”
Tiger-Tiger bolted awake. He could have sworn he had heard somecat call his name. -What?- he thought. -Probably just a dream.- He settled back to sleep.
Moon-Moon regained her balance. “And what do you want in return?” “Food.” He said. She groaned inside. “We don’t HAVE any food.” “Then no cobwebs.”
Remy glared at Raven, “If you didn’t plan on giving up the cobwebs, why did you say you had some?” He snarled
“Simple. I need something from you, and you need something from me. We could work together if you had something to trade, but you don’t. Therefore, it’s not a fair deal.”
Moon groaned. Raven always had a way of making himself seem like the good guy. She sighed. “It’s no use. He won’t give up the cobwebs. We’ll just have to cope.” Spirit had dozed off during all this and just now woke up. “What’s happening?” She tried to get up, but Moon pushed her down with one paw. “Stop it! You will only injure yourself more.” Spirit settled down with a humph.
“Who needs cobwebs?”
Slither’s voice reverberated other the land as the tom rushed towards Moon.
“I couldn’t find you for so long! What happened?”
“Slither!” Moon called. “Spirit is hurt, and the not-housefolk are taking us somewhere. I wish I knew were we are going.” she sighed.
Ember stared in horror as Wispy was tossed into her cage, “Are you ok?” She asked. She forced herself to stop shaking and started looking Wispy over for injuries
Wispy blinked slowly. So many things were going on, blood was trickling from her head, everything was blurry, and her head was spinning. “N-no” then she passed out. Wispy didn’t feel anything but one thing, pain.
Ember gasped, “Help!” She called to the others, “Something’s wrong with this cat!” She looked around desperately for something to help Wispy
“What is it?!” Moon cried. She left Spirit for a moment and came as close to the edge of her cage as she could.
Slither pulled his ears back.
“Who here has the longest fur?”
When met with curious glances, he continued.
“You can use your fur to stop the bleeding. I don’t care how you do it, but it needs to be done. I know, I’m so smart,” he added smugly, with a goofy grin on his face.
~Jay~
“No! Don’t do that!” Jay yowled frantically. “Your fur will just bring infection to that cat! Don’t!” Jay was shocked that a cat could even suggest that.
“what else can we do?” Remy asked, “We have to stop the bleeding somehow!”
“Herb cats lick wounds clean right? Someone give themselves a good groom and then help this cat! Either that, or these strange hairless-twolegged animals must have something…” Slither looked down down see next in his cage a soft rectangular item which was bright blue, which seemed to have the texture of moss. It was old and had many holes in it, with the slight scent of salt, but it would work. Clenching his teeth around the item, he hauled it up. The hairless animals must’ve left it in his cage for another animal many years ago, but forgot to take it out. He dropped the item and began to lick it clean, clenching his teeth at the acrid scent. When the rectangular moss seemed clean enough for Wispy, Slither hauled it up.
“I’ve got this blue thing which can help!”
Remy looked below where Slither had the blue thing, “I’ll try to reach it!” He called, “Ember and Wispy are both right above me.” He reached down and hooked his claws into it, “I’ve got it!” He said
Ember turned to see Moon, “She hit her head when they put her in the cage!” She looked at Wispy desperately, “I don’t know what’s wrong!”
