Yay! I love new novellas 😀
This is a super edition…
My bad I get them mixed up,
Omg, I hate Onestar but I’m very excited for his SE!!!!!!! It will be SO GOOD! I can’t wait to read about his backstory, and find out why his personality changed so much! He sucks now, but maybe if I read his SE I would like him! (Hopefully not, I really do hate him.) Anyways, Onestar is a jerk, he is VERY rude and prejudice, and was probably one of the worst Windclan leaders EVER. (But, I wonder why his mother named him “Onekit.” Like, why? He’s not one yet. Idk, she’s weird.) Anyways, here some questions!:
1. Why do you think his mother named him Onekit?
2. How do you think he feels about Mudclaw?
3. Why do you think he turned against Firestar? (Honestly, that was plain rude. There was no reason to attack Thunderclan, he was just being a jerk.)
I saw a leak of this, and it’s disgusting. Onestar does become mates with whitetail, his apprentice. This is disgusting, p*dophillic, and is shown to children. This is a bad message and a horrible book, please don’t waste you money on this. The Erin that wrote this is disgusting.
While I won’t argue about the uncomfortable nature of Onestar and Whitetail’s relationship (which has sort of been known since at least the family tree on the official Warriors site has been released and confirmed who Heathertail’s parents were, as it was written in the allegiances in the first arc that Whitetail was Onewhisker’s apprentice), I will correct the use of the word “pedophilic”/pedophilia because Onestar and Whitetail don’t fit the right criteria for it. After seeing this comment, I specifically went in search of the leaks and from what I’ve seen, Onestar goes out of his way to comment that he did not develop romantic feelings for Whitetail until after she became a warrior (and potentially well after, since he comments that it’s been a while since she was his apprentice). In Warrior Cats, becoming a warrior is essentially the equivalent of becoming an adult, so their relationship would not be pedophilic because they were adults (and she was not groomed), even at the bare minimum of assuming that he started having feelings for Whitetail immediately after her ceremony.
It certainly still is… odd, to say the least, because the power dynamics involved in a mentor/apprentice relationship could lead to some very uncomfortable situations when attraction is added to the mix. It just isn’t pedophilic because Whitetail was an adult when they became mates.
Im sorry, p*dophillic was the wrong word to use. Still, in the leaked paragraph, he specifically mentions he watched her grow up, but it completely fine and normal now that she’s and adult. This series is marked to children, and it tells horrible messages. It’s weird and messed up, and even though I they are cats, it should not be accepted as the norm in the book.
And that’s an opinion you and I and many other people share, especially in regards to stories such as Spottedleaf’s Heart. If you’d like to share your thoughts with the Story Team, the best way to do so would likely be through Working Partners, the company that helps develop Warriors ^^
FYI, Whitetail was already an adult when she mated with Onestar. Furthemore I don’t hear anyone accusing Pinestar of pedophillia and the age gap between him and Leopardfoot is far more significant than Onestar and Whitetail. Also Onestar was still an apprentice when Whitetail was born.
Is this coming before or after Sky?
Next week
2 things, one, i was disgusted by Spottedleaf’s heart, dude, Thisle and Spotted had a 6 year age gap, and he already had a kit, plus, he stalked her as an apprentice, a new apprentice at that. other than that the book was good.
2, wait, so theres a website where we can post ideas and what not and it can help you write the books? Working Partners?
I feel like this book was rushed a little. Onestar’s relationship with Smoke also seemed to be rushed and there didn’t seem to have much chemistry to them. I thought this book would go into Windclan’s time in exile and show a more dynamic relationship with the two of them. It also seemed that many major points in Windclan’s history were glossed over and a select few characters appear in the book. It would’ve been nice to see more behind the scenes characters get more development. Like his mother is just mentioned to have past away and after he becomes a warrior he doesn’t seem to have a relationship with his siblings at all. I would have loved to seen more of the conflict between Shadowclan and Windclan, but maybe i’m just nitpicking too much. It was still a good book
The reason why so many major points in WindClann’s history was glossed over was because they were irrelevant to the plot of this SE. Besides the major plot-points of WindClan are explained in much further detail in other Warriors media.
what’s weird is that the warriors wiki lists the Nutmeg that’s in this book as separate from Nutmeg, Firestar’s mom
The Nutmeg in this book is male, so unless the Erins managed to sneak a gay relationship in, they’re different cats.
* MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! *
Ok, so I read this whole book in a day, and I have to say it was pretty good! There were, however, some parts I found a little . . . unpleasant 😛 . Onestar keeps to himself quite a lot and I think that he is a bit rude to the other Clans, especially in Gatherings, but it was nice to see his POV to see what got him into being different as he became leader. I think he was a great leader and I am VERY SAD about Brushpaw’s death (he was my favorite character in the book!). He deserved his warrior name and sadly never got it. He failed his assessment and he was in Onestar’s nine lives ceremony. The comic at the end is also really good in my opinion, as I just LOVE to read StarClan POV’s. It was so good and I think I finished it WAY too soon (I finished it the day it came out, I couldn’t help it haha). I actually got to see his battle scene with Darktail underwater, which was also interesting. It’s a really good book! <3
Brushpaw 😭
I really want to know where Brushpaw’s name came from??? Was he named after a bottlebrush? I thought those were only in Australia but I could be wrong. Or maybe he was named after the action of brushing against something??? Melody and Brushpaw’s clan names bother me…. I think Melodypaw could have worked, considering modern WindClan has a cat named Songleap, and Brushpaw could have been named Lionpaw since his kittypet name was Leo. But I guess clan cats wouldn’t know leo means lion and maybe Tallstar wan’t to separate them from their kittypet selves, considering most kittypet-born clan cats seem to want to separate themselves from their birthplace…. idk. Anyway, WindClan cats are gay for orange little kittypets pass it on.
This looks epic
It’s really not 😭 I’m sorry, I just got this book and it’s not that great… it’s just skipping over so many important things! Where is gorsepaw??? And onestar is super out of character a lot of the time 🫤
I enjoyed the book. I love Windclan anyway and seeing more of them was great. True, it did skip a lot of important events, for example I would have loved to see Onewhiskers and Firehearts friendship grow, learn about the motivation for the attack in Eclipse, see Onestar interact with his daughter and get to know Harespring better to understand why Onestar picked him as deputy instead of Crowfeather… But then the book probably would have needed to be double the length. I would have preferred if they had written Onestar a lot meaner. For me, this is not a redemption for Onestar and he is still this very average, gutless and spineless coward who covers up his mistakes and bad choices with lies and rudeness. Windclan is much better off without him!
