Hello! It’s Frostflight (Frosting Petals) and today I’ll be diving into which cats in the amazing Warriors series deserve Super Editions or Novellas!
MINOR/HUGE SPOILERS FOR: Broken Code, Omen of the Stars, Mapleshade’s Vengeance, The New Prophecy, and Power of Three. (Every book in the arcs I listed)
1# Frecklewish
I really want to know so much about her! We already know how close she was with her brother, Birchface, and I really want to know more of his personality and his bond with his sister. Frecklewish sounds like she was super loyal to him and seeing how of that from her perspective. I think she deserves a Novella. I would probably name it “Frecklewish’s Bond” or Frecklewish’s Tale.”
2#Ashfur
Yea, I know, the most obvious. But it’s truth! We all want to know how he felt around Squirrelflight, when he developed his crush, and more! Plus, we need some more information about how the cats were affected while the New Prophecy cats where traveling. And after that, a huge time skip to when he traps Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Squirrelflight. I want to see from his perspective on all of this ^^ I think it would be a Super Edition called “Ashfur’s Obsession” or “Ashfur’s Anger.”
3#Ivypool
Ivypool is definitely in my top three favorite characters in Warriors. Her fierce determination, skill, and bravery is very interesting and nice. She would/should most likely have a Super Edition, listing and showing her relationship with Fernsong, and her change and reaction when Bristlefrost, her own daughter, faded from existence. I would call it “Ivypool’s Sorrow.”
4#Snowtuft
Like I said with Ivypool, he’s in my top 3. I love this boi! And yet, we know absolutely nothing about him! He’s a major Anti-Hero, and I love how he sacrificed his whole existence to save Rootspring, Shadowsight, and Bristlefrost. Without him, they might have died, and Ashfur would have won! All we know is he’s from ShadowClan. Out of all of these characters on the list, this guy has most potential. I think it should be called “Snowtuft’s Regret.”

Ivypool is getting a Super Edition actually! It’s called Ivypool’s Heart!

Lovely article! I feel like Frecklewish and Ashfur might be interesting topics for novellas ( sadly I believe they canceled all upcoming novellas and will no longer be writing any more ), though I doubt Snowtuft would have enough plot device to be touched on. It’d probably end up too much like The Place of No Stars. While Snowtuft’s character is . . . intruieging, to say the least, he doesn’t have much to work on.
As for Ivypool, the Erins are acually working on a Super Edition for her now: Ivypool’s Heart! There’s info on that on the Fandom Wiki. It’s alligned with the events of ASC #6 ❤

i agree with the cats you listed. i think itd be interesting to get a Snowtuft novella/SE since he sacraficed himself. id love to know how he became a DF cat ! i really enjoyed his character for the short time he was in the spotlight. we dont see a lot of anti-hero cats in the books (or none i can really think of.) according to snowtuft’s wiki, apparently kate cary also thinks he needs a novella, which is interesting!
Now I’m going to make it my duty to write a novella/SE for all of these characters XD
I think Frecklewish’s story was explained to enough extent in Mapleshade’s Vengeance, so we don’t need more exploration of her.
Ashfur for sure! A super addition could tie up all the loose ends around his character, and give us the perfect glimpse of StarClan that no book ever really gave us.
Ivypool’s Heart
Yes! Snowtuft seems like exactly the character the Erin’s would make a novella for.
