My Top 10 Least Favorite Cats in Warrior Cats by BrightPaw

BrightPaw lists their least favourite characters from the series.

(No hate towards those who like these cats! These are purely just my opinions, and I also don’t mind if you comment on those opinions! Very open to feedback :D)

This is ordered from least hated to most hated btw. also SPOILERS!! A LOT OF SPOILERS!!

10.) StarFlower – StarFlower is from DOTC, so I think a lot of you reading this don’t really know her (DOTC is probably the least popular arc so far) but I always get a bad feeling whenever she comes around. She’s really manipulative the way I see her, and I feel bad for Thunder when she breaks up with him. Then again, I find a way to appreciate her character in a way. I wish she had more content, honestly, but DOTC will probably never see the light of day again 🙁

9.) LionBlaze – I don’t have anything against LionBlaze’s character other than he’s so..average and boring. Especially for a main character. He’s just so dry unlike his siblings. JayFeather and HollyLeaf both have really good and interesting characters, while LionBlaze is just…there. The second thing I don’t like about LionBlaze is his powers; he’s too overpowered for one average guy. He can almost never get really harmed and he can kill anyone, even on accident. When in a fight against RussetFur from ShadowClan, he kills her! I also don’t like that he has sooooo many kids. I don’t really mind having a lot of kids, you do you, but it’s just too much firestar in thunderclan! Even IvyPool and HoneyFern are related, and they’re canon to be mates! I just think, like, half of his kids should die. Not in a personal way, just kill them off like FernCloud’s kittens. She only had one surviving kit, but you could probably just take a few of LionBlaze’s and CinderHeart’s.

8.) BrokenStar – I understand that he’s meant to be this super evil guy, and I think that’s good that he was evil. But he just doesn’t make sense…His plan is to train kittens to be warriors before they’re even apprentice age and send them off into war. But..then what? Does he think he’ll win? I think he should just wait a few more moons until they’re old enough, then they’ll actually know how to fight and stuff. And he wouldn’t have so many dead kits on his paws! I also don’t like what he did to YellowFang and RaggedStar…and BadgerFang…and LittleCloud…and basically everyone in ShadowClan at the time. He was pretty much the start of ShadowClan’s “we’re all evil!” reputation, and TigerStar really didn’t help with that. Also, he exiled the elders from camp? Plus some cats who weren’t even elders. That’s just so sick to me. Also one more thing, the kitten death scenes in Blackfoot’s reckoning and such are just so disturbing to read..

7.) LeopardStar – She’s an alright character, and I like her affect on the story, but she’s just such a terrible person! When she teams up with TigerStar and makes TigerClan, she doesn’t even argue when her deputy is killed right in front of everyone just because he has blood from two clans. (RiverClan and ThunderClan, the deputy killed at the time was StoneFur) In FeatherTail’s manga, she’s also very dismissive of the things she didn’t bother to fix, and she’s careless about FeatherTail’s feelings about StoneFur…and having to watch him get killed. Not to mention, while she’s sick and dying in the next arc, she acts so careless and ignorant of her illness, and she tries not to show a hint of weakness. She just feels like such an annoying person, but she was a good character in the story.

6.) CrowFeather – I like that he was there, and I like how he affected the plot…and I don’t really have too much of a grudge against him right now, but before ASC, he always felt really using. He loved FeatherTail, I’ll give you that, but after, he only dated LeafPool because she reminded him of FeatherTail. Then, after they part, CrowFeather goes and dates NightCloud to keep his reputation up. It feels to me like he uses women for his own benefits. That, and also he’s really mean to BreezePelt, his son.

5.) SpottedLeaf – She was alright. She was there. She’s just the typical love interest with no real thoughts in the first arc (in her novella, that’s totally different) Side note, I think her relationship with FirePaw is reaaaally weird considering some age differences..I feel like she got some of that from ThistleClaw. (I’ll talk about him later) She’s also just kinda annoying in dreams like dead YellowFang and BlueStar (I specify dead cause they loose a lot of their personality after they just become messengers for StarClan.) I don’t hold too much against her, but I don’t like how she was a choice for FireStar’s love interest…like, he has to decide whether to be mates with SpottedLeaf, a cat not even in his age range, and SandStorm, a cat he grew up along side and has had real connections with. Not to mention that they already had kits together…

4.) BerryHeart – She’s super xenophobic and controlling of her daughter, SunBeam. That’s all that I really have to say…also she’s really rude to her son and his mate from SkyClan. She didn’t even do anything wrong!

3.) AshFur – AshFur is really…ugh…I don’t like him one bit. I feel a little, little bad that SquirrelFlight left him for BrambleClaw, but they weren’t even dating at that moment! I don’t really understand why SquirrelFlight would choose BrambleClaw over AshFur at this time, but she does make her own choices. AshFur doesn’t like that option, though, and decides she’ll pay for…breaking his heart? He sounds like a teen right now, not an adult. He also tried to kill her kits because she didn’t date him! Even if they weren’t biologically hers, that’s messed up! He also orchestrated the attack on FireStar, setting HawkFrost and BrambleClaw up to kill him and take over ThunderClan. There’s just so much to say, but one thing is I’m glad that he’s gone forever. Side note, it is sad that BristleFrost died killing him but I think it was really good that she did (for plot reasons) because RootSpring isn’t only focused on his love life.

2.) ThistleClaw – He is terrible. and gross. I don’t even wanna go into detail, but his relationship with SpottedLeaf is just so weird and predatory. The age gap for one, and the manipulation. Along with this, he also mentored TigerPaw and trained him to kill! He’s just such a bad character…but he’s well written, I’ll say. Also, his relationship with SnowFur is weird to me too. I hate how he’s controlling over his son, WhiteKit, and doesn’t let his aunt (BlueStar) even build a relationship with him. He’s just so awful, and you’ll find this same opinion pretty much anywhere.

1.) (big spoilers!) BrambleStar – Though I think BrambleStar has done considerably less than the two above, the one thing that sets him apart from the others is that he’s not a villain. He’s a main character, meant to be supported and loved by the reader. This makes him even more dislikable, because the narrative tries to frame him as the good guy even though he really isn’t. He’s manipulative to Squirrel flight, and is always mad at her. I’m just really happy that he isn’t leader anymore and is in the elder’s den now. SquirrelStar is so much better, and I’m glad they won’t be yelling at each other all the time now.
