A Guide to ThunderClan Medicine Cats Part 1 by Acornblaze

Acornblaze starts a series that introduces all the medicine cats of ThunderClan.

Hello, it’s Acornblaze here! For this article, I will be telling you about The first few ThunderClan medicine cats. This article might be a bit confusing, because of timelines and all that, but I try to make it understandable 😛. There will be spoilers for, well, every book with a ThunderClan medicine cat. Also If I missed anything feel free to tell me in the comments! It was a bit hard to find out a lot about a few of these cats, as some of them are only mentioned once or twice, so sorry if some of the descriptions are short!
Cloudspots
Cloud Spots is a long-furred black-and-white tom with a white chest, ears, two paws, and green eyes. Cloud Spots was ThunderClan’s first Medicine cat, and served under Thunderstar’s leadership as a medicine cat. He was born in The Tribe Of Rushing Water, but traveled on the Sun Trail to the forest where he lived the rest of his life. He was first in Tall Shadow’s Camp and then moved to Clear Sky’s group, finally settling in Thunder’s group. Cloud Spots is the cat that discovered the difference between Greencough and Whitecough and also found out their cure, Catmint. He trained ThunderClan’s next medicine cat, Shivering Rose. He also trained Pebble Heart, ShadowClan’s first medicine cat. Cloud Spots never had any major enemies that we know of, besides the villains everyone hated like Oneeye, but did feel like he didn’t belong in Clear Sky’s group, so I guess he didn’t really like him (Can’t blame him, Clear Sky can be kinda annoying sometimes!😛). Not much more is known about him, as he is just a background character in Dawn Of The Clans. He has no kin that we know of, and we don’t even know how he died.
Shivering Rose
Shivering Rose is a black she-cat with a white splotch on one ear and amber eyes. Shivering Rose was the second medicine cat of ThunderClan. Her mentor was Cloud Spots. Her mother was Milkweed and Her father was Leaf, Her sisters are Morning Fire and Beech Tail and her brothers are Hazel Burrow and Pach Pelt. Her half siblings are Clover, Thistle, and Bramble. Other than that not much is known about her. We don’t know if she had an apprentice, or how she died. But we do know she served under Thunderstar and probably under Owlstar too.
Prickleface
Prickleface’s appearance is unknown and Like Shivering Rose, not much is known about him. He has no known family, we don’t even know which leader he served under. It is important to note that there is probably a large time gap between him and Shivering Rose, as all we know about Prickleface is that he had a temper to match his name😛! (Code of the clans page 138)
Pearnose
Pearnose is a dark brown tabby she-cat. As before, there is probably a large time gap between her and Prickleface. Pearnose was a medicine cat under Morningstar, but we are not sure who her mentor was. She appears at Pinestar’s leader ceremony and appears to Goosepaw (Later Goosefather). She helps teach Goosepaw herbs and is somewhat like his StarClan mentor. She Mentored Fallowpaw. She has no known relatives and like I said it is not easy to find information about cats who are only mentioned once or twice.
Fallowpaw
Fallowpaw’s appearance and gender is unknown, but we do know they were Pearnose’s apprentice and also served under Morningstar. We don’t know how this cat died, but they probably became a full medicine cat before that, although their name is unknown. Sadly we know nothing else about them.
Kestrelwing
Kestrelwing is a dark brown tabby tom. He was a medicine cat under Redstar’s leadership and although he didn’t like the idea of kicking SkyClan out of the forest, he didn’t speak up about it. He did however convince Redstar to let Birdflight, Spottedkit and Gorsekit to stay in ThunderClan as they could not make the journey. That is all we know about him, we don’t know who his mentor was, or who his apprentice was. There was probably another time skip between him and Fallowpaw. (So many time skips!)
Oatspeckle
Oatspeckle’s appearance is unknown, but he was the ThunderClan medicine cat under Oakstar’s leadership and is mentioned in Mapleshade’s Vengeance as being Ravenwing’s mentor before he died. Nothing else is known about him. (Also no more time skips after this yay!😛)
Ravenwing
Ravenwing is a small, thick-furred black tom with dark blue eyes, he served under Oakstar’s leadership. He was trained by Oatspeckle and died quite young when Mapleshade murdered him for telling the clan her kits were half-clan. Mapleshade blamed Ravenwing for telling the clan, so she murdered him at a half moon meeting and then let a hawk see him so it could eat him, after this the other medicine cat buried him. I know this is not a defense article, but Ravenwing did nothing wrong. (Here I go again saying things that are so off topic 😛) If you found out someone had lied about who their innocent children’s father was, you would tell your clan leader. He never meant for the kits to be banished, as I think he truly cared for them, but didn’t want to lie about their father being Appledusk. I think he did the right thing, and Oakstar did the wrong thing by banishing them. Anyways, he never had the chance to train an apprentice, so Cloudberry had to come from RiverClan to train the next medicine cat.
Cloudberry
Cloudberry is a white she-cat with yellow eyes She has thick long fur, bony haunches, and a broad, flattened muzzle. After Ravenwing was murdered she came from RiverClan to train Goosepaw so that ThunderClan would have a medicine cat. She was trained by Echosnout in RiverClan, but was sent to ThunderClan as a replacement for Ravenwind. I think she probably didn’t want to go to ThunderClan at first, but I think she began to like it a lot once she adapted to the environment. After that she realized that Gooseepaw had gifts for speaking with StarClan and seeing the future so she pressured him into becoming her apprentice. Cloudberry got very sick, along with Doestar. She then stayed with her leader Doestar until she died, knowing that she would die of the same sickness soon after (This is true loyalty! And I didn’t even know who Cloudberry was before this! 😛).
Goosefeather
Goosefeather is a speckled gray tom with pale blue eyes. He was mentored by Cloudberry and served under Doestar, Pinestar, and Sunstar. His parents are Daisytoe and Rookfoot, and sibling is Moonkit (later Moonflower). He had a gift to communicate with StarClan and see the future, which often confused him as a young cat. Cloudberry notices His special abilities and pressures him into being the medicine cat apprentice. He could see dead cats from StarClan.This makes me feel bad for him, as a kit he was probably confused and thinking he was seeing things 😢. As an apprentice he was helped by Pearnose, a StarClan medicine cat from the past, and after moons of work he finally became a medicine cat. He then Mentored Featherwhisker and gave out a few crazy omens 😛. As he got older cats began to rely on his apprentice more than him, and he always reacted to Tigerkit (Tigerstar 1) as if he was horrifying. He joined the elders after that and son joined StarClan. He then gave Bluestar one of her nine lives.
