Juniperpaw and Jackdawpaw discuss why they dislike Star Flower.
Hello! We’re here to discuss a subject that we think is not mentioned enough in the fandom: Star Flower!

Okay, so to begin with I feel that the way she was just plainly forgiven (especially by Thunder) after barely any time is beyond wrong. Like… She basically snatched Thunder’s heart, betrayed everyone, and then the worst part: she got with Thunder’s DAD. And that was after she dismissed Thunder like he was some clingy and immature kit, like HE was in the wrong? She barely even apologized for breaking his heart, and he was straight up head over heels in love with her.
All she said was “I liked you, but Clear Sky and I have so much more in common.” The point with a partner is that they should have different qualities than you, so that you can make up for each other. For example if one of you has unbelievable trouble with waking up in the morning and the other one is the complete opposite, they can help you get up and establish healthy habits/routines. Then for example if the early bird has trouble with overeating or something, the night owl can help them get into a healthier routine. But if both have excruciating trouble with for example going to bed early, they both end up getting five hours of sleep!

True words, Juniperpaw! I totally agree on all of your points. I do not like Star Flower, either. The worst thing about her was probably her relationship with Clear Sky, but another of her actions that made me dislike her a lot was the betrayal she made in the first place. She kind of flirted with Thunder and completely stole his heart. He was so obsessed with her, he ignored Lightning Tail’s suspicions about her. And then, turns out, she was a spy all the time. And she was One Eye’s daughter! (Okay, sure, she couldn’t help who her father was, but she COULD decide where her loyalties lay.) Everything he told her, she told One Eye. And then, all she said was a half-hearted “sorry.”
The fact that she was loyal to the obviously very cruel One Eye is bad itself, without this whole Thunder-love-thing. He was her father, sure, but that doesn’t mean he had to be her role model. Take Tawnypelt, for an example. Her father was Tigerstar, but she has stated that she was happy he was dead because he was an evil cat and she knew that. She did not want to be like him, unlike Star Flower, who seemed to think everything One Eye did was good.

Very much agreed! Clear sky didn’t steal her from Thunder, it was all her being quite the jerk.

True, I just still think the whole thing is toxic and Clear Sky was already a better cat before Star Flower came into the picture. :3

It is weird, but at least her age is nebulous so we don’t know if it’s much worse than that.

Awesome article! I agree on almost all points- Star Flower was a bad person, but she did do some good things. It wasn’t right for her to play with Thunder like that and then run off to his LITERAL FATHER, but she has helped Clear Sky discover things about himself. :3

It seems that the Blog is split into two about Star Flower 😛 I mean it’s true that she helped Clear Sky become a better cat but Bright Stream did that just as easily without breaking any cat’s heart… T-T

I think it was Thunder’s fault for being so clingy and obsessed and not listening to Lightning Tail. It kind of reminds me of Darkstalker and Clearsight’s relationship in Wings of Fire, where Darkstalker was evil and Listener was against the idea of Darkstalker getting close to Clearsight. It also reminds me of Billionaire Boy by David Williams. Joe has fallen out with his best friend, Bob, and then there is a new girl at the school called Lauren. She is beautiful and sweet and kind, and Joe falls in love with her, but Bob warns him that Lauren is fake, but Joe doesn’t listen. Later, it turns out that Joe’s father saw her on an ad, called her, and paid for her to be Joe’s friend. I think it was really annoying how loyal Star Flower was to One Eye, who was CLEARLY evil. When he died she even said “To my father, a true ray of light.” Other than that, I think she was a decent character. I do think it was weird that she became mates with Clear Sky, though, who is Thunder’s FATHER. Clear x Star would probably get a lot less hate if Clear Sky wasn’t related to Thunder. There’s this one scene where I really love Star Flower, though. I think it’s in Path of Stars: Star Flower has recently given birth. The cats are thinking about how to defeat Slash, and Star Flower says she can teach them how the rogues fight. She tells Thunder to attack her, but Thunder thinks, ‘I’ll go easy on her; she’s not used to fighting (WHAT? I do NOT understand why Thunder would think Star Flower is “not used to fighting”), and plus, she’s just had kits,’ and he just swiped a paw at her. Star Flower fought him REALLY AWESOMELY, knocking his paws out from under him and he didn’t expect that because he thought she was WEAK and FRAGILE and DELICATE. Before Thunder “attacked” Star Flower, she said, “I’m not made of cherry blossom!” And yet THUNDER STILL THOUGHT SHE WAS. Oh, and also, CLEAR SKY DID NOT STEAL STAR FLOWER FROM THUNDER. IT WAS STAR FLOWER’S OWN DECISION TO BE WITH CLEAR SKY. READ “A BIG MISCONCEPTION ABOUT CLEAR SKY” BY ANONYMOUS.

Great article! I do not like Star Flower either. I found her a bit creepy when she flirted with Thunder but when she betrayed him and other cats, I was like “Yeah no. Get outta here.”
