Thank you!
Hooray to/for my fellow WindClan cats!
So, our riddle is:
He ran away. His mother was kind, but was she really?
Year: 2019
So, I at first thought Crookestar/Rainflower, but then I realized that this is prooooooobably a WindClan article, not RiverClan. This is quite obviously referring to Tallstar, I’d think. Not many WindClan cats ran away. Plus, his mother, Palebird, was kind of a jerk!!!! So, we have to search for an article discussing Tallstar, preferably Palebird, too, from 2019.
Okay, well, looking into it, she wasn’t a jerk… It was more like, she was distant, especially after the death of one of her kits. But still. Tallstar is my best guess RIGHT NOW. If anybody has other ideas, feel free to share!!!
im gonna give you a HUGE hint because you’re kind of by yourself at the moment 😛
The author is Honeykit
Oops! Sorry for the extremely late reply. I just came back to these pages today (well, BlogClan made it the 20th due to time zones, but it’s the 19th for me… which still doesn’t make this much better of me), because I wasn’t thinking about them too much. 😬
Is this the correct article? 😛 🙂

Yes! Congrats!
Yay!

RHYMING POEM
He was quite as stubborn as the rocks,
And did not accept aid but in vain,
So it may not have come as a shock,
When Onestar revealed the Darktail spiel
“FREE VERSE”
Tallstar was a cat who learned from his mistakes,
That legendary leader of WindClan,
Overcome by grief like any cat can,
Bent on revenge so he could finally feel new,
Among the wildflowers and the dew,
With Jake by his side – matching his stride,
And freedom at last – but remembering his past,
He was ready for spite – but set things right,
Once he knew the truth – he couldn’t go through,
And those mistakes Tallstar never again would make.

So, I looked up what spiel was exactly to make sure it fit, and this is what Google said: “a long or fast speech or story, typically one intended as a means of persuasion or as an excuse but regarded with skepticism or contempt by those who hear it.” GASP. It actually works perfectly well with when Onestar revealed that he was the father of Darktail, because Sparkpelt and the other cats regarded it with annoyance!
For the Tallstar one, since it might not be clear, I rhymed for the first and last lines, then had the ends rhyme for the top four lines (besides the very first one) and had a word in the middle and at the end of lines rhyme for the bottom four lines (besides the very bottom one). I would’ve just separated them into stanzas to make it more obvious, but, despite it being free verse, I’m not quite sure whether or not you’re allowed to have one-line stanzas lol
I bolded rhymes to make it more obvious. I also have a general syllable structure for all three poems!

I’m sorry if these are cringe, as I’m not great at writing poetry; I’m going to regard them with pride because I managed to make them and they are a learning experience.
I was going to write only one, since you said “write a poem”, but I was going to go with a haiku, which seemed lazy, so then I thought: I’ll just write three, to help guarantee that these will pass as having written a poem! 😛
Are these good? I can make more, if need be. 😛
Okay, also… Idk that what Onestar said was quite a spiel since it wasn’t an excuse or to persuade anyone, although it kind of was a minor excuse for his behavior, so I count it 😛
So, since I wrote three, and since you can probably only take one, if you must only take one into account, choose whichever one meets your qualifications / what you were looking for the best. Or, if I need to choose one without insight (I’d rather you choose whichever one is most valid, though, but I’ll do it if necessary ;p), I… hesitantly say the Tallstar one, since it’s the longest and thus took the most time and energy from me XD
Sorry that Jayfeather and Hollyleaf are so small; I started with them and was trying to save room… However, it actually kind of works, because Jayfeather was technically the runt, even if he grew, and Ashfur is so big in the drawing because he’s closer to your view because he’s up on the log. Also, if you couldn’t tell, Jayfeather is on a boulder of sorts and there are two other boulders below it kind of holding it all together, while Ashfur’s log is resting on a boulder on one end, thus you can see some of the rings… I know, though, that I angled it very poorly. 😛 Furthermore, I know that this is before it is revealed who the parents are, but I decided to make Hollyleaf look furious anyways, because she probably was even then, and she’s so smart that she could probably tell by the way Squirrelflight was acting that something was up; plus… I wanted to make her a salty lady XD! And, aaaah, you can hardly see the smoke sorta below Hollyleaf, and some minor, lightly-drawn lines like the bending line on Squirrelflight’s leg… That would be the picture’s quality’s fault, and I apologize! 😛
Okay, now for two important notes.
One: I decided to use this as an excuse to draw all five cats in the scene, so if you really wanted what was going on in Ashfur’s brain with those words, I would be happy to draw it again, but with the bleeding onto the stones and being cut stuff actually being drawn to represent his imagination when telling the analogy.
Two: You specifically said that this was a drawing contest, and to draw this. Despite this, I considered going the extra mile and coloring it, but I am not currently in the mood. (Plus, there’s always the chance of messing up the art I currently have, although it’s not my main reason to not want to color at the moment.) So, unless it will benefit WindClan/me points-wise to color it, this is the finished product I am submitting for this contest.
Please let me know if this is what you were looking for, and if I’ve done as much as was required for the best results.
