I have a question, Kate. 🙂 (Disclaimer: I don’t live in the UK, nor can my family visit anytime soon.) I’m just generally curious!
If a fan lived nearby, would you be willing to plan a day when you’re not busy to have lunch with them at a neighboring restaurant or coffee shop ? Or is that a big no-no as an author?

Human 🙂 I can come up with warrior names fairly easily, but human names are a liiiiitle harder 😛
Maybe try and think of a name that reflects the personality of the character?
What is their personality? Looks?
What I do when I cant think of names, I go to either a baby name website, or go to google translator and do names in a different language, like for instance in a book I’m writing I have the name Bindy which means pretty snake. Type in certain words like Star or something into the translators and that’s how I get my names. I make sure they fit their personalities.
I do that sometimes too! Especially names in Swahili. I have a roleplay character named Imara, which means “strong one” in Swahili 😀

Human names. The main character is a girl about 15, almost 16, and then there’s her younger brother, and he’s 9, and then a 16 year old boy, and I’m having the hardest time coming up with names 😛
