BlogClan Tavern, The Sixth Saloon

We had our first game on the new softball team (with a lot of people from my other team, as well as two new people, Birchpaw’s cousin, and two sixth graders) and we won 17-16! I was second up to bat and got two strikes rather quickly, but then the pitcher pitched the ball straight into my funny bone on my left elbow and it huURTT but I got to take the base. Birchpaw was after me and she hit the ball and I tried to get to second and the second baseman tried to tag me but then resorted to flopping over on top of the base and I was out 😛 my elbow reeeeally hurt so I was kinda happy to not have to do anything with it for a bit, but then I was told I had to pitch 😛 I couldn’t (still can’t) really bend my elbow that well so I was a little worried I wouldn’t do too well because of that. Luckily I did pretty well, especially with my swollen and bruised elbow 😛 When I pitch I hold my hand and glove together with the ball, bring them down and slap my glove on my thigh and bring my right arm back, then do a circle with my arm and chuck it forward. Since it hurt to move my left arm at all I didn’t hold the ball up too high and mostly let it hang through the pitch, so it probably looked a little weird from the front, but I got the ball over the plate for the most part and that’s what matters. I also couldn’t swing my bat normally but actually managed to get a hit at some point?? 😛 I don’t remember how but I slid home twice (I ran into the catcher’s foot during one slide but sadly didn’t knock her over) the second time I was up to bat the first pitch was a ball and the umpire said the count was 3-0??? but I had just got up there?????? and I got a second ball and the umpire said “ball four” and I was like “what??” and he repeated “ball four” so I shrugged and went to first and everyone on my team assumed I had gotten hit in the cleat or something but I hadn’t??????????? so I guess I just got a free base for no apparent reason 😛 The next three innings Birchpaw and Shadepaw pitched and I was put in halfway through the last inning because Shadepaw was walking a bunch of people and the bases were loaded and it was stressfulllllll but I got the second and third outs and we won! Usually when our coach tells us to go to either right or left field for the after-game chat, I sprint ahead and throw myself onto the grass just for the heck of it, but I decided not to today because my elbow was still throbbing 😛 My elbow’s pretty swollen and there’s a small bullseye-shaped bruise there and I still can’t bend it very much at all, but I sadly can’t show it off to everyone at school because school ended yesterday 😛
Also my parents told me that we were having Birchpaw’s and Moonpaw’s families over today and possibly Shadepaw’s and Stormpaw’s, so tonight’ll be fun! As long as I don’t beat up my elbow any more, I guess 😛

I’ve just realised that it’s now June.
