~Halfbird~
Halfbird wanted to die. She wanted the ground to swallow her up. Her so-called sister had left, and she was alone.
There was nothing left to live for.
(open for interaction!)
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike glanced at Halfbird as they fought. She searched for words that could try to help comfort her, but nothing came to her mind. What could she say to Halfbird? what could I say to Windhowl? She immediately wanted to yell at herself for thinking that. How could she think that! She hated Windhowl! But Windhowl wasn’t here, and for now, she could focus on the battle.
Im here but I have been way too lazy and inactive to know what is going on
(well Halfbird’s sister Echomist isn’t her sister and has been working against the Clans all this time)
Pinnerpaw –
For once Pinnerpaw felt comfortable in Bloodclan intill he looked at Halfbird “No one deserves to grieve so badly”,he thought. He started walking to her
~Halfbird~
Halfbird glanced at Pinnerpaw, and forced a smile. “Hey.” Her voice cracked.
Pinnerpaw –
Pinnerpaw tried to search for words to comfort her but ended up just lying down next to her looking up at the stars “I wonder what it’s like up there” he said half to himself
~Halfbird~
Halfbird lay beside him. “I bet it’s nice, and peaceful, and a beautiful place…” She trailed off, and suddenly ran to where Smokestrike was standing.
Halfbird took a deep breath, and turned to her. “Kill me.”
Pinnerpaw-
pinnerpaw couldn’t move “Surely Smokestike wouldn’t kill her”he thought. He wanted to tell him not to get Smokestrike to kill her but he was so shocked he couldn’t speak or move
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike was shocked for a moment, so much she could hardly breathe. “No-no.” She stammered. “You don’t want that. You definitely don’t want that.” Suddenly, a question she hadn’t thought about earlier popped into her head. “Halfbird…how far back can you remember?” She asked. “Do you remember being born alongside anyone, and you assumed they were Echomist? Do you think you might still have a sibling out there?” Smokestrike hoped that it was true, though she knew it was unlikely. And if it wasn’t true, then it would be bad to get her hopes up, but it was too late now. At they very least it might get Halfbird’s mind off wanting to die
~Halfbird~
Halfbird closed her eyes, and thought.
Then she opened her eyes, and looked away. “I had five siblings,” she whispered. “My mother was a kittypet, I remember her collar. I remember seeing… a body, a Twoleg body. It was lying on the ground for ages. I remember being hungry, and I remember… being one of the two that survived.”
(btw that is my friend’s cat’s backstory, the cat had several littermates and lived in a house, but the owner had died and it was the only survivor)
“That’s it” said Pinnerpaw. “If Echomist isn’t your sister somebody else out there might be
your real sibiling”he said.
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike couldn’t tell why she was so excited, but she was. “And that means maybe…..maybe we could find them.” Smokestrike meowed. She hoped that would cheer Halfbird up. For a moment she imagined being able to meet her own siblings, being able to meet her family….but now wasn’t the time for such fantasies. “If you want we could look for them!” It was after she said that she realized that she said “we”. She glanced at Pinnerpaw, wondering is “we” included him too, and for a moment she wondered if she had dragged him into this. I guess I definitely dragged myself in. Any day before she would have hated that, but after the flood, after meeting Halfbird, after everything that happened, she was along for the ride. Even now, she couldn’t believe how much she trusted this DarkClan cat. “But now the only question is when.”
Pinnerpaw –
Asumming he was apart of “we” he said “Is right now a problem “
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike sighed. “Any other time I would say no,” she meowed, “but I don’t that trust something bad won’t happen while we’re gone. I don’t trust Bloodmoon not to do anything bad.” And she really didn’t want to leave behind…OTTERSONG! She didn’t want to leave behind Ottersong, and there was nobody else she didn’t want to leave. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to our clanmates, and if something bad happens they might need us.
Pinnerpaw –
“You got a good point” he sighed.
~Halfbird~
Halfbird leapt up. “Do you think we can?”
She turned to Pinnerpaw, then Smokestrike. “Oh, please say yes!”
(Smokestrike)
“Fine.” Smokestrike meowed. She didn’t want a grieving she-cat and a young apprentice to be out on their own, and while Smokestrike’s wounds still hadn’t healed, but she would be more useful then nobody else being with them. “Do we tell anyone about this?” She meowed. Smokestrike was scared that Pinnerpaw’s mentor, whoever it was, she couldn’t remember, would convince Amberstar to look for him, which might get them forced back, but if they told anyone they may not be allowed to go entirely.
“Let’s not tell anyone unless we really need to” Pinnerpaw said.
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike nodded at Pinnerpaw. “So…where do we start? Halfbird, where do you remember seeing your sibling last? We can start the search from there.” Smokestrike meowed. She hoped she was doing the right thing, helping this DarkClan cat. She also hoped that wherever they were going stayed out of the zone of the flood.
~Halfbird~
Halfbird bit her lip, thinking. “Twolegplace,” she answered. “Twolegplace, in a large space in a Twoleg nest. It had lots of other cats in it, all in tiny silver web things.” She shuddered. “I can remember it was horrible.”
(Smokestrike)
“Should we try to find that other cat again?” Smokestrike asked. “I don’t think I ever got her name. The old-looking one we fought the foxes with? If we asked her then she might know what it was.”
Pinnerpaw
“If were trying to find a place to start looking I think we should try to find that cat” said Pinnerpaw
~Halfbird~
For the first time in her life Halfbird felt wanted. “Okay. Let’s find Jasper.” She walked in a random direction, sniffing the air. “I think she went this way.”
Pinnerpaw –
“Lead the way” he said
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike nodded at Halfbird. “Let’s go.”
~Halfbird~
Halfbird walked forward, every part of her body tingling. She walked into an alley and found Jasper washing her leg. Jasper looked up and rushed toward them. “Well if it isn’t ‘alfbird!” She glanced at Smokestrike and Pinnerpaw. “An’ I see you’ve brought friends?”
Halfbird nodded. “This is Pinnerpaw and Smokestrike.”
“Ah, yes. I remember yeh from the fight.” Jasper tilted her head. “Why ‘ave yeh come to an old bird like me ?”
“We need help,” Halfbird explained. “Do you know a place here with, uh, a place with lots of cats, all in small silver web things?”
Jasper squinted in concentration. “Hmmm, I might. Follow me.”
She turned around and started walking.
(Smokestrike)
“I know it was me who suggested that we go ask her…” Smokestrike whispered to Halfbird and Pinnerpaw, hoping her voice was low enough that the old she-cat wouldn’t hear them. “But do you think we can trust her?”
~Halfbird~
Halfbird lowered her voice. “It’s fine. She’s old, and there’s three of us. Plus she looks like she’s a loner. Emphasis on LONER.” Halfbird gasped, realising what she had just said. “I’m so sorry, it just slipped out… I didn’t mean to…”
Pinnerpaw –
“I guess your right about that” Pinnerpaw said ignoring her last two sentences. “I mean what can a loner do to us when when there’s only one of her and three of us”
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike nodded. “Good.” She meowed, unable to prevent her claws from coming out.
~Halfbird~
Halfbird looked away, biting her lip. What just happened to me?
Jasper broke into her thoughts. “This the place?”
Halfbird stared at the Twoleg nest in front of them. “I have no idea.”
“Okay,” mewed Jasper, pressing the door with her head. “Then ah guess we’ll ‘ave to investigate, eh? Come in.”
Halfbird helped Jasper, pushing the door with her front paws.
(Smokestrike)
Smokestrike eyed the twoleg nest warily. “What if this is a trap?” Smokestrike asked.
~Halfbird~
Halfbird sighed. “I’m willing to take that risk. Don’t come if you do not want to.”
(Smokestrike)
“I’m coming.” Smokestrike meowed. “If I wasn’t ready for danger then I wouldn’t have come on this quest in the first place. Plus, we will have a better chance of fighting anything off if we stick together.”
~Halfbird~
“Thanks,” Halfbird smiled. “It means a lot.”
Jasper rammed into the door again, and it opened slightly. She panted, out of breath. “There you go. Welcome to the cattery.”
Halfbird walked in, memories flooding back to her. She turned to Smokestrike. “This is the place.”
(Smokestrike)
“Then we should start asking around.” Smokestrike meowed, looking at the many cats trapped in dens of silver webs. Just being near this place made her uncomfortable. “What should we do about all the cats here? Should we try to help them or are they here for a reason?” Her pelt prickled as she thought of what these cats might have done to end up in a place like this. But even if they did decide to let the cats go, Smokestrike didn’t know how they would go about it.
