Fan Fiction

Looking for where you can get help on writing your fanfic? Check out the fanfic organization page!

We are delighted to have so many talented and prolific writers on BlogClan, but the amount of fan fiction posted in comments has increased so much that we do not have the time or resources to moderate it all in a timely fashion. What we’re about to say will seem harsh, but it will hopefully mean that comment moderation over the whole site will become quicker which means more fun for everyone. So, here goes, and apologies in advance if this is upsetting:

Fan fiction comments will not be moderated on BlogClan.

This means comments containing fan fiction will never make it out of moderation. They will languish there, unread and unmoderated, for eternity.

Wattpad provides an excellent platform for reading and sharing fan fiction. You might wish to use that instead to share your stories. I am not favouring Wattpad. It’s the only one I know of, and I’m sure there are many other platforms out there you might prefer. It’s up to you!

If you can’t make an account on any site, you may use justpaste.it! If you only have access to Google Docs, then you must use a blog email to make the document or link a web-published version of your document. To make a web-published version, set the doc to be viewable by anyone with the link, then go to “File” -> “Share” -> “Publish to web” and click “Publish”, then copy the link provided (it MUST end in “/pub”). Any document found to contain personal information will not be moderated!

Feel free to post links to your fan fiction on this page. Please don’t post them anywhere else on BlogClan that isn’t a secret page. Links to fan fiction posted in comments on ANY OTHER NON-SECRET PAGE will be deleted.

  • Second Best (A Harry Potter Fanfiction): Prologue

Avis stepped up to the pedestal, heart thundering. Can I do this? She wondered, taking a seat and rubbing her clammy, paint speckled hands together. She took a deep breath and risked a glance around the great hall, packed with students. Goose bumps popped up on her honey toned skin as the dusty hat was placed on her head. “Interesting,” it mused, “Protective and hot tempered but wants to do things in life. Hufflepuff? Gryffindor? Hmmm…” She tensed at the last word. Anything but that, he would kill me if it was that. “Not Gryffindor, eh? Better be Slytherin!” It announced at last and she let out a sigh of relief. Her foster parents had drilled it into her before sending her to Hogwarts, ‘anything but Gryffindor.’ The table filled with students in green robes stood and erupted in cheers as she walked off the platform. She flipped her short toffee toned hair over one shoulder and pasted on a confident smile as she walked towards them. Show no weaknesses. She barely noticed as the next girl was called up and cries of Hufflepuff went up from the hat. I can do this. She took a seat at the table with the rest of her new house. Despite their reaction to a new member, most of them seemed rather arrogant and ignored her and she tried not to let the slight get to her. When she glanced around the candle lit room, she couldn’t help the spark of jealousy that manifested at the sight of the other tables enthusiastically talking and greeting new members. Maybe it was the wrong decision to co– Her train of thought was interrupted by a pale boy introducing himself. “I’m Draco Malfoy, and you are?” She hesitated for a moment before taking his hand, “Avis Krum,” she said softly, trying to adopt his tone. It was as though he thought everyone should bow down at his feet at his name. “No relation to Viktor Krum I assume?” He asked, taking in her grey eyes and skin tone. “He is my foster brother, actually,” She corrected, loosing a sigh. He took it in stride, “This is Crabbe and Goyle,” he said, gesturing to either side of him. “I’m Pansy,” A dark headed girl next to Avis cut in, her brown eyes flashing. “And that’s Blaise Zabini,” she said with a quick nod to the darker skinned boy on Avis’s other side. Pansy’s eyes were like flecks of broken glass as she looked Avis up and down before dismissing her with an eye roll. She forced herself to take a deep breath and turn to the food in front of her. As she grabbed a bread roll from the basket her elbow brushed Blaise’s side and he turned his cool stare onto her. Is everyone here snobbish pure-blooded status holders? Viktor warned me but I hadn’t realized it would be this bad. Avis shrugged it off and tried to ignore them, tuning out the conversation and turning her thoughts to the yellow table on the far side from her. Snap out of it Avis. You need to focus. Karkaroff will have your head if you shame the institution. Malfoy was making fun of those he called, “mudbloods” and Parkinson was hanging onto his every word. This will be a fun seven years, she thought, resigning herself to her fate.

  • ever since i heard fish was a trend, it just happened that it fit perfectly in Omnia (well, the stupid version at least..). However, arson was already a thing there as well, so why not just have them “coexist”?
I’ve posted this on the Rotation, and now you can view this on the fanfiction page with all its stupid glory, with one more line from Moon Wing.

Leafrea: Fish is probably one of my favorite foods *eats sushi* But seriously, I really do like fish. Probably more than all of you.
Frosteda: *pops out of portal* EXCUSE ME?! HOW DARE YOU CLAIM THAT YOU LIKE FISH THE MOST? *grabs pink fish and rips off a hunk and eats it* From what I see, you only eat COOKED FISH, and when do you eat fish raw, it’s in SUSHI! And you seriously have the audacity to say that you like fish the most?!
Shivera: *pops out of portal and eats shark fin* I know. And you also have the audacity to say that Tenelxoria doesn’t exist. Okay, it’s pretty much dying right now, but it still exists. ONE DAY I WILL RETALIATE.
Leafrea: -Ohh *throws geese at Shivera* Now that I’ve taken care of–
Frosteda: *rolls eyes and twitches ears*
Goldena: *open portal* Ohh, Frosteda of Aqaea is speaking right now. Seriously, if I had a ridiculously huge lake in Dachtlya and it doesn’t affect my health, I’d be eating fish right now.
Frosteda: *yeets fish towards Goldena* anyone who aboards the fish train is welcome, just no claiming you eat fish more than anyone!
Goldena: *swallows fish whole* bones included. now–
Spitfire: *pries open Frosteda’s portal* IF YOU CONTINUE TALKING ABOUT FISH I WILL COMMIT ARSON!
Flamey: *backflips* I would like to help you commit arson :3 not that I hate fish or anything, but I just really want to commit arson
Irike: *leaps through Frosteda’s portal* me tooo! I don’t hate fish either *chomps the remainder of Shivera’s shark* BUT ARSONN!!! *takes out flamethrower*
Red: I have fire powers so I can assist you
Leafrea, Frosteda, and Goldena: NO DO NOT SET THE FISH TRAIN ON FIRE
Spitfire: *breathes fire on the fish train wheels* TOO LATE!
Frosteda: EXCUSE ME IRIKE HOW DARE YOU BETRAY THE FISH TRAIN
Irike: I didn’t BETRAY THE FISH TRAIN because I didn’t say I hate fish, I like it more than y’all actually, now time to set the train on fire *shoots fire out of flamethrower*
Moon: WHY IS THIS EVEN A DEBATE
    Sun Bird: *deletes the island*

  • Heres a random thing I wrote for my book. Idk probably a summary.

A long time ago… cats were at war with each other. There would be new scars everyday. One litter of kits were always born every season. In a small section of the woods. Spirits roamed as mortals among us. Cats call that place, the star tribe territory. No cat is ever brave enough to enter the territory. Only because that section of the forest was dark and gloomy. Only the middle of the territory has light and life. There was one cat who was brave enough to go in the territory. Her name was Star. No one heard from her since she went in. Cats assumed she was dead. One faithful day, she came back with 1 small she-kit. (the main character) Some thought this was her kit. The kit was name Comet. When Star came back the cats were at peace, but after 3 moons cats continued to fight with each other. One cat will forever bring peace to the land of Tivali…. (Ti- vah- li)

    Flagstar’s Choice

    Prologue
Flagkit gazed at the leader. His thick gold fur, amber eyes,no wonder everybody respected him.Beartail picked him up.”Young Flagkit.Don’t go gazing around like that.”his father scolded.”But dad.”Flagkit complained.Sharpkit stalked up.The red tom’s fur,his strong and lithe shape. His amber eyes scowling.”I was always the favored kit.”the young tom said.
“Yeah. You could be an apprentice with your size.”said Quietkit.Flagkit winced at her words. He was the same as his brother. He would prove that someday, wouldn’t he?
Beartail puffed out his chest.”I am proud of you Sharpkit.”Beartail said.Shadeberry walked over to Flagkit.”Come on young one.”the black tom said kindly. He followed Shadeberry to the Medicine Den.”I know you want to be my apprentice.”said Shadeberry.”I’m not throwing away my shot!”Flagkit snarled at Shadeberry.Lionstar walked in.”Flagkit, you will be a medicine cat if I can help it.”snarled the leader.
    “You can’t help it.”

    Chapter One
Flagpaw sat down.He watched the powerful form of Thistleclaw leap at Silentstrike.Quickblow knocked Thistleclaw out of the air strongly.Flagpaw stood up and leaped at Mistletoepaw.Shineclaw appeared and slashed Flagpaw’s side.”OKAY!”yelled Quickblow. The cats looked up at him.”We’re done for tonight.”the black tom said.Flagpaw looked smugly and woke up.
Flagpaw lifted his broad head.Quietpaw was laying next to him.Jayfeatherpaw glanced at him, seeing the blood on his side.”There was a thorn in my nest.”he said quietly. The gray tabby tom nodded.Flagpaw went back to sleep.
(Little Hamilton joke time/Morning in Quietpaw’s view)
“Flagpaw wants to fight not heal.”said Jayfeatherpaw.”Oh Flagpaw!Allthetests sings for you!”sang Peakclaw.
    (NO MORE HAMILTON JOKE)
Flagpaw woke up.Shadeberry walked in.”Time to train.”said the black tom.Jayfeatherpaw followed Jake.Flagpaw walked to the Medicine Den.
    (Sunset)
Jayfeatherpaw and Flagpaw headed to Lionstar’s Den. Peakclaw was in there snarling at Lionstar.” Oh Lionstar, I’m sure your son would make a good leader but surely he’s too young.” said Peakclaw convincingly. Lionstar’s eyes widened and the sharp scent of death hit his nose. Peakclaw walked out of the den wiped blood across the two apprentices.” What are you doing? ” asked Flagpaw.” AllthetestsClan! I was going to talk to Lionstar but I found them with blood on them and Lionstar dead!” said Peakclaw. Murmurs rippled through. Sharppaw laughed. “ I told you Perfectface had something to hide!”Sharppaw yelled.” Yeah and an exile from another Clan forever away! HAH! Why were you exiled little kit?” yelled Beartail.
“Exiles!” yowled the Clan. Jayfeatherpaw and Flagpaw looked around and ran away.” You’ll regret this!” yelled Flagpaw.” We are now Flag and Jay.” said Jayfeatherpaw sadly.” We only have each other.” said Flag once they got in the jungle.

    Chapter Two
Flag searched for herbs for Jay’s cut.He found some marigold and cobwebs and headed back. Then Flag came back and nosed Jay back down.”Jay, come on. You know we can’t leave this clearing. The Clan will tear us apart.”Flag said.” Or Shinepaw could find us.” whispered Jay.” Who?” asked Flag.” My sister.” he said. Flag tilted his head.”Wouldn’t she be a warrior b now?”Flag asked.” No.” said Jay looking away.” Why? ” asked Flag.
“ThunderClan isn’t the best place to grow up under Bramblestar’s Rein.” said Jay.” What do you mean?” asked Flag.”One day Bramblestar went on a patrol and something happened, he was unconscious and he stayed in the Medicine Den until Shadowpaw had a vision and it killed Bramblestar and he became weird. When Shadowpaw, now Shadowsight described the cat that had sent him the vision, everybody thought it was me so I was exiled. Shinepaw, my sister was Bramblestar’s apprentice so she now wants to kill me.”Jay told Flag.”Wow, and you never told anybody. Was it you?” asked Flag. Jay looked aside.”OF COURSE NOT! DO YOU EVEN KNOW ME!”Jay yelled at Flag. his gray tabby fur bristling and blue eyes glaring.
“Jay, of course, I know you. Listen to yourself. You are as good as Tigerclaw.” snarled Flag. Jay unsheathed his claws and slashed Flag across his arrogant face.” IT’S YOUR FAULT I HAD TO LEAVE THE ONE PLACE I CALLED HOME!” yelled Jay. Flag backed away.” A Medicine Cat must walk his path alone.” said Flag as he ran away from Jay.

    Chapter Three
Flag laid down.Blood smeared his gaze.He sighed painfully.”Oh Jay.”he whispered. He fell asleep and he remembered what he’d done.
Flagpaw leaped at the young gray tabby. He slashed the tom’s face making sure he couldn’t see him.He snarled and clawed the tom.Blood rushed from the cat’s wounds.A smile crossed his face.He felt a very happy feeling.Pride.
Flag shot his head up.The wound across his face had scarred him.He looked and saw a brown kit.”Piekit!”he exclaimed.”Peakstar exiled me.”the brown tom whimpered.Flag sighed and stroked his thick brown fur.He picked the cat up.”Also,I’m Piepaw now.”the brown tom said.Flag chuckled.”Pie.”he named him.Flag walked to the clearing and saw Jay and a brown she-cat.
” Jay, I’m sorry I accused you of that. Please take care of Piekit.” said Flag, a long scar across his face and he dropped a brown kit in front of him.” He would like to be called Pie now.” said Flag and he walked away.

    Chapter Four
Flag chased the rabbit. He turned around and claws slashed him and he saw a red cat with amber eyes.”Sharppaw…”he breathed painfully before he fell unconscious.
Flag woke up and looked aside.Pain came from his wounds. He saw a gray tabby and a brown tom.He stumbled towards them.“I know…we went…our own…ways but please…help me….” gasped Flag. Jay looked aside.” Fine, I have a place where you can stay.” snarled Jay and lifted Flag. He walked to the den.” Jay! You’re back! Pie told me you stayed there to find out-is that Flag!” said Dust startled. Jay nodded and headed for the smaller cave and dropped Flag in the nest.
“He’s going to stay for two moons. Then he’ll either help us survive or leave,” said Jay roughly. Dust nodded and laid back down. Pie dashed over to Flag.”Even though he left me, I still care about him.”Pie said before Jay could say a thing. Jay nodded and smiled. Dust playfully cuffed Jay’s ear.

    Chapter Five
Dust was curled around two tiny kits. Flag smiled. Pie shifted on his legs. A sound came from the bushes. Jay bolted up. A gray tabby she-cat led cats into the cave.”Why are you here?”Dust asked protectively. The gray tabby opened her mouth than a brown tom with dazzling blue eyes talked.” We’re from ThunderClan, we need help, I’m Falconwing, that’s my sister, Splashstream.” said the tom.
“Would you know a Jayfeather or Briarlight?” asked Jay.” They are actually my parents.” said Splashstream.” How is Shineclaw? Not like I care.” said Dust.” Jayfeatherpaw!” said Falconwing, his eyes glowing. Jay scowled at them.” Well, I thought having littermates would help me, not get me exiled.” snarled Jay.” Shinestar wants us all dead. We need your help.” said Splashstream.” Like you helped me? I have a family here, I have a home.” snarled Jay. Falconwing looked taken aback.” Jay, this is your family, save them from Shinestar, leave AllthetestsClan behind.” said Flag.Sadness welled inside him to say that, but he had to.Jay looked at him surprised.
Jay closed his eyes and panic welled inside Flag.He knows what I did!

    Chapter Six
Jay snarled and looked at Flag’s face.Jay had found out it was him. Claws unsheathed from Jay’s paws. Teeth bared. Blood spattered. It was all a blur of fur, claws, and blood. So much blood. The blue gaze of Flag was in pain, distressed. Dust picked up the kits and moved away, Pie ran back with Dust. The ThunderClan cats shifted uneasily and walked back.
The brown she-kit was dropped from Dust’s mouth and stumbled. The kit looked up at Jay and tilted her head.” Daddy, why’d you do that?” she asked. Jay looked away, the cats in the cave were looking at him like he was Tigerstar.” I-I don’t know.” he said.” Maybe there’s a reason you were exiled.” said Pie.” From two Clans, in the span of three moons.” said Dust. Jay couldn’t keep the secret any longer. There was a reason Flag had gone to Lionstar that fateful day. Then Flag looked up at Jay and shook his bloody head.”Please no.”Flag whispered.
“There’s a reason I was on that scene, why I have these scars,” said Jay. The cats around him looked confused.”Flag wanted to talk to Lionstar, but not exactly talk, he knew I was a vicious fighter, no forgiveness, so he wanted me to kill Lionstar, but Peakstar beat him to it. Flag gave me these scars, he put a voice in my head. He is The Silent Killer.”Jay said. Cats around him gasped.”The Silent Killer?” asked Pie.
“In the Clan territory, there was a cat who would kill, nobody knew who it was, all we knew was the fur color,” Jay said. Flag coughed weakly and looked small. Falconwing snarled.” So you kill him?” asked Falconwing. Jay shook his head and ran.

    Chapter Seven
Flag limped up to where Jay was standing.Dust,Pie,and ThunderClan followed.”It’s time to fight.”whispered Jay.The cat leaped towards the area.Flag met up with Shadeberry.”You know I didn’t do it.”Flag snarled. The black tom nodded.Peakstar’s eyes widened.
    (Time Skip)
Pie looked over the Clan. His brown fur matted with blood.Dead bodies littered the ground.Flag nuzzled Shadeberry’s body.”I,Pieheart, son of Lionstar must become leader.”the brown tom said.Jay nodded.”PIESTAR!”the Clan chanted.Piestar smiled.Quietpaw walked up to Flag and nuzzled him.”Quietstream.”she told him.Flag smiled.Jay and Briarpaw laid down together.Dust nodded. The two kits looked at each other and followed their mother out of camp.Sharppaw walked up to Flag.”Sharpsong.”the tom said happily.”Flagpost,JayfeatherBB.”Piestar said kindly.Flagpost looked up.Their recent talk with Piestar dwelled in his mind.Flagpost sat down and Quietstream nuzzled him kindly.

Chapter Eight (Twenty ish moons later)
Flagpost looked up at Piestar.”Flagstar, lead Henry,Clearpaw, and JayfeatherBB on a patrol to the Barn.”the brown tom said.Flagpost nodded and led the cats outside the camp.”JayfeatherBB,Henry,Clearpaw,go check the far border,I’ll go to thee barn.”Flagpost said. The three cats nodded and dashed off.
He sighed and walked to the border,a dark brown she-cat with beautiful green eyes looked at him.”Hi.I’m Pride.”she said.”Flagpost.”he said happily.
Pride chuckled.”Meet me here at Moon High.”she said.He nodded and walked off.JayfeatherBB ran up to Flagpost.”I met my son!His name is Blaze, and my daughter’s name is Pride!”the gray tabby exclaimed. That was Jay’s daughter…Wow.Flagpost chuckled a bit.JayfeatherBB nosed him aside.Quietstream looked up at him.”Hi.”she said.
Piestar shifted aside.”I heard you split the patrol up.”he snarled.”I d-”
    “No!You endangered the patrol!”he snarled.”Bu-”
    “NO!You know about the dogs!”yelled Piestar.”LISTEN TO ME!”yelled Flagpost.The Clan gasped.”Arrogant tom.”snarled the leader.Flagpost snarled and walked off.

Chapter Nine (Like a year later)
    Flagpost cuddled with Pride.They watched the sunrise.”It’s late.”he whispered.”No,its early.”she said laughing.”Jay will be worried.”Flagpost told Pride.”Ug,stupid father.”Pride snarled.e chuckled.”Quietstream will be worried.”he whispered.Pride looked up sadly.”Oh yeah.”she said.Flagpost nodded sadly and walked off.
Quietstream raced up to him.”I was so worried!”she said.”Yeah.”he said looking away.”You are gone so long, all the time!”she said to him.”I try to stay as long as I can.”he said.”You barely know our kits! They think JayfeatherBB is their father!”she exclaimed.Flagpost walked off to find Piestar.”Sharp has been sented by the Mountain border.”he told the large tom.
Piestar nodded. He left camp to see Pride again. He had been hunting for a while.Pride smiled at him.Her round belly full of kits. They laid down together. He knew this was wrong, but he had to.Quietstream was too intense for him.He saw blood streaking Pride’s side.
“Are you okay?”he asked worried.”Fine.A she-cat attacked me and said ‘He is mine’.”
    “Quietstream.”

    Chapter Ten
Flagpost leaped at Quietstream.”YOU KILLER!”he yelled.”Me,killer?”she said.”You tried to kill Pride.”Flagpost said.”That proves why you’re sneaking out.”she said.Flagpost scowled and walked off.He turned around and slashed the gray she-cats neck.
The green gaze of Pride stared at him.”I won’t let you near our kits.”she snarled at him.”Pride, please!”Flagpost said, eyes wide.Pride dashed off,her tail bushed in fear.Flagpost sighed and walked home.JayfeatherBB trotted up to him.A gray tabby tom raced up to Flagpost.”Hey dad!How come you never talk to us?”Silverclaw asked.
“Son,your mother is dead.”Flagpost snarled.Silverclaw gaped at him.”But,she was so strong!”he said surprised.Flagpost lowered his head.”The sooner to give up,the better.”Flagpost snarled.Sunpelt gazed sadly at the stars.
A red tom stood at the edge of camp, holding two kits in his mouth.A red tabby and a brown with red markings on her forehead. He nodded at Flagpost and dashed off.He sighed and ran to Pride’s meeting spot.A brown body was there, soaked in blood.”Pride,oh no,what happened?”he asked.
“Sharp, kits, save.”she whimpered.Flagpost saw Sharp drop the kits.”I will save them from Sharp.”

Kill me.Kill me and live with the memory you won.

  • Chapter 12 of Eye of the Storm!

    Chapter 12

By the time that Stormfrost and the others had been held prisoner for another quarter moon, they had all grown used to that way of life. They banded together, and it no longer mattered that they were three different Clans. Everyone knew that Stormfrost was expecting kits, and every time there was a meeting, they helped hide it from Snake.
Ryewing dropped a measly shrew at Stormfrost’s paws. She had gotten bigger, and Ryewing didn’t want to risk her going to get her daily meal. “This is all I could get for the both of us,” he explained apologetically. “You can have the whole thing. I just won’t eat today.”
Snake only allowed a few pieces of prey for the entire group. Most of the stronger warriors chose not to eat as long as they could so the weakest ones could.
Stormfrost shook her head and pushed it away. “No. We share it,” she insisted.
Ryewing gazed at her sternly. “You have to eat, Stormfrost. It’s not just you that you’re feeding, remember.”
Stormfrost sighed. How could she forget? It was all anyone ever told her anymore. Grudgingly, she took a bite from the shrew. “There. Happy?” she muttered.
Ryewing nodded. “Yes, actually. Now eat the whole thing.”
Stormfrost took another bite. “When our kits are born,” she began. “I want to teach them how to hunt. Together.”
Ryewing purred. “I would like that. I can imagine us taking them out, showing them RockClan territory. We can teach them the ways of the strongest and best Clan!”
“Maybe one of them will be a medicine cat,” Stormfrost said, her heart swelling with pride at the thought of her kit healing the Clan.
“And maybe one of them will be leader one day,” Ryewing meowed, his eyes shining.
“I can’t wait to meet them,” Stormfrost murmured wistfully.
“Did I hear you say that RockClan is the strongest Clan?” Lilyspring, ShadeClan’s only queen, said jokingly, sitting down next to Stormfrost.
“Hi, Lilyspring,” Stormfrost purred. The two she-cats had grown close in the time they had been held prisoner in Snake’s camp, as they were the only ones expecting kits.
“Hi, Stormfrost,” she greeted her warmly. “Seriously, though, I hope you know that ShadeClan is the strongest.”
    “Er– sure,” Stormfrost meowed sarcastically.
Lilyspring laughed and heaved to her paws. “Anyway, I just came over to say hi. Toadfoot wants me to rest as much as I can.” She rolled her eyes at the last part.
Ryewing shot Stormfrost a look. “See? I’m not the only one,” he said pointedly.
Lilyspring pulled a face. “Uh-oh,” she mouthed. Stormfrost stifled a giggle.
“She’s a lot like Rainmist,” Ryewing commented after Lilyspring was gone.
Stormfrost shook her head sadly. “She’s a lot like Rainmist was. Rainmist changed after Swiftsnow died and her kits were taken from her. It’s like they each took a piece of her with them until there was nothing left.”
“You can’t blame her,” Ryewing reminded her gently. “I don’t know what I would do if I lost you and our kits.”
“I don’t blame her.” Stormfrost exhaled heavily. “I just miss my friend.”
Ryewing licked Stormfrost’s cheek. “I know you do.”
Distressed voices pulled Stormfrost’s attention away from Ryewing.
“Willowheart, here. I brought you my meal. I don’t need it, but you have to eat.” It was Shellwhisker.
Her pelt prickling with concern, Stormfrost padded over to the LakeClan she-cats. “What’s going on? Do you need any help?”
Alarm sparked in Shellwhisker’s gaze. “Stormfrost, this is the sick area. You shouldn’t be here!” she mewed urgently.
    “You’re here,” Stormfrost pointed out.
“Yes, but you’re expecting kits. You can’t get sick.”
Realization struck Stormfrost. “Is Willowheart sick?”
Shellwhisker blinked rapidly. “She put so much work into caring for the others… and now she’s got one paw in StarClan.” Her eyes rounded in concern. “She’s LakeClan’s only medicine cat. I don’t know what we would do if she died.”
“How is Bramblebush?” Stormfrost fretted. She didn’t know what would happen if the prisoners lost both of their medicine cats.
“He’s tired, but so far not sick,” Shellwhisker reported.
    “Who else is sick?”
“Lynxnose, Sleekpelt, Shadowpool, Poolcloud, and Reedstar.” Shellwhisker’s breath caught in her throat at Reedstar’s name.
Stormfrost gasped. “Reedstar is sick? Will he be okay?”
“He has lives to spare,” Shellwhisker answered, though Stormfrost thought she sounded like she was trying to convince herself.
“I want to see them,” Stormfrost suddenly said, pushing past Shellwhisker. Immediately though, Cherryfur stepped in front of her.
“No no no. I don’t want you or Lilyspring anywhere near these sick cats,” she meowed with a shake of her head.
“But Poolcloud is my Clanmate!” Stormfrost protested. “And Lynxnose was my mentor.”
Cherryfur hesitated. “Alright,” she decided. “But don’t get too close.”
Stormfrost cautiously padded over to Poolcloud and felt a lump in her throat at the faint rise and fall of her chest. She remembered how the sweet elder always would entertain the kits with stories of when she was a warrior. Poolcloud doesn’t deserve this, Stormfrost thought in despair.
Beside Poolcloud, Lynxnose lifted her head. “Fernleaf? Is that you?” she whispered.
Stormfrost swallowed. “No, Lynxnose. This is Stormfrost, not Fernleaf.”
Lynxnose tilted her head. “Oh. You look alike sometimes.”
Stormfrost nodded, unsure what to say next. “Well,” she began awkwardly. “I hope you feel better. Sorry that I woke you.”
“Wait!” Lynxnose called out weakly. “Stormfrost, I’m sorry that I was so cruel to you when you first joined PineClan. I hope I didn’t contribute to you leaving.”
Stormfrost dipped her head. “No, it wasn’t you,” she assured her as she turned to leave.
    “And Stormfrost?”
    Stormfrost turned around.
    “You were a good apprentice.”
    Stormfrost blinked. “Thank you.”
Lynxnose nodded once and didn’t say anything more.
That was weird, Stormfrost remarked. She settled down next to Ryewing. “I hope this sickness doesn’t spread more,” she mewed.
“Me too,” he agreed. “But Rainmist has been coughing more and more lately and it’s worrying me.”
“She will be fine,” Stormfrost insisted, though dread clawed at her belly. Willowheart said it was just whitecough, but everyone knew how quickly whitecough could turn into greencough.
Just then, Heatherthorn approached the prisoners. “Snake wants everyone to gather for a meeting,” she told them.
Ravenpelt hissed. “And why would we listen to you?”
Heatherthorn shrugged. “I’m just relaying the message.”
Stormfrost’s paws felt heavy as she trudged to the bottom of the hill. Ryewing and Echodust shielded her from Snake. At the sight of Silverdusk sitting on Snake’s throne, Stormfrost whimpered softly. How she wished she could save her mother from the sacrifice she had made.
Snake appeared next to Silverdusk. “Today’s meeting was actually called because of Foxfang,” he snarled.
Stormfrost stiffened. Tonight was the night of the second rescue. Did Snake find out and punish Foxfang? Stormfrost relaxed with relief when Foxfang stepped out onto the hill.
“The elders of the Clans are a burden to everyone,” Foxfang called out from the hilltop. “I have discussed this with Snake, and we agreed it would be best if the elders were… disposed of.” She callously licked her paw and drew it over her ear.
Outraged screeches rang around the camp, but Stormfrost knew it was all an act. If Foxfang pretended to take the elders away to kill them, she could sneak them into ShadeClan.
Snake flicked the tip of his tail to signal for Foxfang to step back. “The execution will be performed by Foxfang. She will collect the elders tonight.”
Mistlefur let out a thin wail and Ryewing’s jaw tightened.
“This meeting is dismissed,” Snake commanded over the angry protests. Misery shone in Silverdusk’s eyes as Snake led her away.
“This is crossing a line,” Ryewing growled back in the makeshift den. “She can’t do this. It’s disgusting. Has she forgotten what loyalty is?”
How Stormfrost desperately wished she could tell him the truth.
Ryewing abruptly stopped speaking and Stormfrost looked to see why. Foxfang was staring expectantly at them. Ryewing leaped to his paws and hissed.
Foxfang nodded to the camp exit. “You can bring him if you want,” she offered. “And bring your friend. The speckled gray one.”
Stormfrost felt her respect for the ginger she-cat grow. Ryewing shot a puzzled glance her way. “What is she talking about, Stormfrost?” he meowed slowly.
Stormfrost ignored him and stood up. “Just trust me. You’ll find out soon.” She looked over at Rainmist. “Rainmist! Get up! And be quiet.”
Though she looked confused, Rainmist obeyed and the four cats snuck out of the prison.
“Have you thought about what I said last time?” Foxfang whispered.
Stormfrost kept her eyes trained on the ground. “I’m going to tell Fernleaf the truth,” she murmured.
Approval showed in Foxfang’s gaze. “Good. I know you want to help, but I think you’re doing the right thing.”
Stormfrost gritted her teeth. She hated that Foxfang was right.
Rainmist moved closer to Stormfrost. “This is ridiculous. What is going on?” she snapped.
Stormfrost was taken aback by her hostility, but before she could answer, Ryewing spoke.
“If I am correct, she said we will understand soon,” he mewed. Stormfrost thought she could detect annoyance in his tone. Rainmist huffed, and said nothing more.
They walked in silence a little while longer until a shrill squeal startled Stormfrost. She jerked her head up as the noise rang out again.
    “Rainmist!”
Rainmist slowly lifted her head and emotion flooded into her gaze. “Lionkit!” she shrieked, bursting into a sprint.
The mother and son collided into each other, and Rainmist covered Lionkit in fierce licks. “Oh!” she exclaimed. “Your face!”
Lionkit puffed out his chest. “It hurts sometimes, but Duckfeather and Ambershine say that I’m getting better.”
Rainmist glanced around. “Where are your sisters?”
The words had hardly left her mouth when Sorrelkit and Brindlekit went barreling forward. Rainmist collapsed in a pile with her kits, purring.
Fernleaf and Everflame came into view, and Stormfrost shrank back. She was a little worried about Everflame’s reaction to her pregnancy, and she still was a little regretful that she couldn’t fight. Think about your kits. Think about how you have to keep them safe, she reminded herself.
Ryewing looked at her quizzically. “Wait… is Foxfang a spy? And Fernleaf is alive?”
Stormfrost nodded. “All of them are. There are a bunch of cats in ShadeClan who are working with them to plan escapes. That’s where the elders are going tonight, along with a few kits.”
“You knew about this?” Ryewing asked with the slight tilt of his head.
Stormfrost ducked her head. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. What’s important is that you know now. I can’t help anymore since I’m expecting kits, but perhaps you can.”
Ryewing touched his muzzle to her cheek. “I will help in whatever way I can. I know how much this means to you.”
Fernleaf’s mew drew her attention away from her mate. “Stormfrost? Where are you?”
Stormfrost took a deep breath and stepped into view. Fernleaf inhaled sharply when she saw her.
“You are expecting kits.” She said this plainly, as if she were telling Stormfrost what she had to eat that morning. “How long?”
“Fernleaf—” She wished she had told her sister the truth earlier. They used to be so close!
“How long?” she demanded once again.
Stormfrost blinked from the forceful tone in her voice. “About a moon,” she murmured softly, unable to meet Fernleaf’s eyes.
Fernleaf dug her claws into the mossy ground with a low growl. “Why didn’t you tell me this? You let me put you and your kits’ lives in danger and you didn’t tell me.”
“I’m sorry,” Stormfrost growled. “Listen, we can focus on what I did wrong, or we can put this behind us and focus on the problems ahead of us.”
Everflame gently nudged Fernleaf aside. “I’m not happy with what you did, but we can’t change that. You’re right though, we have to tell you what we called you here for.”
    “Which is what?” Ryewing inquired.
“The second rescue mission goes out tonight. That means that half of the kits and apprentices will be gone, and Snake is going to start to notice that something is up soon. By the time that the third wave goes out, there is a huge risk,” he explained. “One way or another, there will be a battle. Brightstar decided that we should combine the third and fourth missions into one big group, and send a final group out the next day where we can get the most high risk warriors out so they will be protected from the attack, like expecting queens and sick cats. Elders would have been a part of that group but you got them out earlier.”
“When is the third rescue?” Stormfrost asked.
“A quarter moon,” Everflame replied. “We originally called you here so you could tell us who needs to get out of there, but you are now a part of that group as well.”
“I’m being rescued?” Stormfrost was stunned. Was there finally an end to the misery they had endured?
    “You’re being rescued,” Fernleaf confirmed.
“I want Ryewing to come, too,” Stormfrost immediately said. “If he isn’t allowed, I won’t do it.” She knew she was being stubborn, but she wasn’t about to leave her mate behind.
“Tell me how that’s fair to the other cats who have to wait for their mates instead of having them rescued,” Everflame challenged.
Anger pulsed through Stormfrost. “How dare you!” she seethed. “I have risked my life for this! The least you could do is get my family out!”
“Foxfang risked so much more than you did! And when I offered her a spot in the final rescue mission, she denied it. She said that she wasn’t going to run away when she could still help the others,” Everflame yowled. “I told her that she might die, and she said that she couldn’t think of a better way to join StarClan; by saving her Clanmates.”
Stormfrost whipped her head to face her sister. “Fernleaf!” she called for her to help.
Fernleaf met Stormfrost’s gaze with cold eyes. “Ryewing will be fine, and you will see him after this is over. If we let Ryewing go, then everyone’s mate will have to go, too. We just can’t let that happen.”
    “She’s right.”
Stormfrost dropped her jaw at Ryewing’s voice. “No!” she cried. “How could you say that?”
Ryewing casted her a comforting look. “It’s not fair to have to save me. I’m not at any risk.”
    “But–”
“We will be together after the battle. We won’t be apart for long.”
    Stormfrost’s tail drooped, dejected.
“Who else is high risk?” Everflame murmured in a low voice, changing the subject.
Stormfrost stole a quick look back at Rainmist. “She has whitecough, and it’s getting worse everyday. Lynxnose, Willowheart, Reedstar, Shadowpool, and Sleekpelt have greencough.”
Everflame’s eyes flashed with alarm. “Shadowpool is sick?”
Stormfrost remembered that Shadowpool was his mentor. “Yes, but she’s not bad,” she assured him. “And there’s a she-cat named Lilyspring—”
Fernleaf’s face lit up. “Lilyspring? She’s alive? We’ve been so worried about her!”
    Stormfrost tilted her head. “We?”
“ShadeClan. Is she alright? Have her kits come yet?”
Stormfrost was confused by Fernleaf’s interest in a cat she hardly knew, but answered her anyway. “She’s doing fine. Her kits haven’t come yet, but they are due any day now.”
Fernleaf nodded slowly. “Alright. The fourth rescue group will be you, Lilyspring, Rainmist, Silverdusk, Lynxnose, Willowheart, Reedstar, Shadowpool, and Sleekpelt. Heatherthorn and Sootnose will escort you here.”
Stormfrost shook her head. “It’s going to be near impossible to get Silverdusk..”
“Well we need to figure something out,” Fernleaf insisted. “We have to get Silverdusk out of there.”
Stormfrost squeezed her eyes shut. “We can’t save Silverdusk.” The dreaded words that she knew were true forced out of her throat. “She is pretending to be his mate. There is no way we could save her until after the attack.”
Fernleaf’s eyes rounded. “No. Stormfrost, she’s our mother. We have to save her!”
“And we will,” Foxfang promised, stepping in. “We just have to do it after the attack.”
Fernleaf opened and closed her mouth, seemingly speechless. Finally, she gave a small nod in agreement.
Stormfrost anxiously glanced around her. “I’m sorry, but we better get going,” she mewed reluctantly. “Ryewing and I will figure out the final rescue group and tell Foxfang. She will get the message to you.”
“Okay,” Fernleaf replied. “I will see you soon.”
Rainmist painfully tore herself apart from her kits. “We can be together in a little—” she broke off coughing. “A little bit. Just be patient.”
Brindlekit pressed herself up against Rainmist’s flank. “Please don’t leave us!” she whined.
Rainmist’s eyes flashed with grief. “I’m sorry,” she breathed.
Stormfrost rushed to her friend’s side to comfort her. “They’ll understand one day,” she murmured as she led her away.

“We’re getting out of here?” Lilyspring asked in disbelief.
“In a quarter moon,” Stormfrost confirmed.
“Who exactly is going again?” Toadfoot inquired, moving closer to Lilyspring.
“Rainmist, Sleekpelt, Lynxnose, Shadowpool, Willowheart, Reedstar, me, and Lilyspring,” Stormfrost meowed, unable to look Toadfoot in the eye as she spoke. She knew that he would be angry that he couldn’t join his mate on the escape.
Reedstar lifted his head and parted his jaw to speak, but Shellwhisker rushed to his side.
“You must save your energy,” she soothed.
The LakeClan leader ignored her. “I will not be joining you on the rescue mission.” His announcement was met with shocked murmurs.
“But you are sick!” Honeyshine protested.
“I am a Clan leader,” Reedstar rasped. “My Clan needs me to stay with them.”
“What your Clan needs is for you to live,” Bramblebush corrected. “You are going.”
Reedstar gave in and dipped his head.
Rainmist sat down beside Stormfrost and gazed at her with shining blue eyes. “I will see my kits again,” she whispered. “Thank you.”

Stormfrost woke that night to coughing.
“Rainmist, I need you to breathe.”
    “She needs water!”
“Can we have a little help over here?”
Stormfrost sprang to her paws. “What’s going on?” she asked.
Echodust looked up. “Rainmist got worse,” she meowed gravely.
Rainmist twisted her body to face Stormfrost with wide eyes. “Water?” she gasped, her voice hoarse and dry from coughing.
Worry gnawed at Stormfrost’s belly. “Shellwhisker?” she called meekly.
    “Yeah?”
“Can you get a few leaves off of that bush over there? Maybe Rainmist can lick the dew from them.”
Shellwhisker scurried off to fetch the leaves. Stormfrost shouldered her way to Rainmist. “You’re going to be okay, do you hear me?” she mewed, trying to keep panic out of her voice.
Rainmist struggled to catch her breath. Her eyes unfocused for a moment and her chest was so still that Stormfrost thought she was already gone. Then she sucked in a breath that sent her into another coughing fit.
“It’s… so hard… to breathe,” Rainmist choked out. “Why is it… so hard?”
Stormfrost’s mind raced. How had she gotten so bad overnight? Had the walk to the ShadeClan border tired her out too much? She had been walking a bit slower, her paws dragging slightly, her eyes a little glassy. Why hadn’t Stormfrost noticed?
Bramblebush frantically tried to help Rainmist. “I don’t have any herbs,” he muttered. “I can’t help her without any herbs!”
“What are you saying?” Stormfrost demanded.
“I’m saying that I have done all I can for her,” he snapped. “If I had the proper supplies, I would be able to save her, but I don’t.”
    “Save her?” Dread consumed Stormfrost.
Bramblebush’s eyes saddened. “The only thing we can do is make her comfortable so she can go peacefully.”
“No!” Rainmist sobbed. “I promised… I promised my kits! Please don’t let me die! I don’t want to die!”
Shellwhisker returned with the dewy leaves. Stormfrost gratefully took one from her and brought it to Rainmist. “Here,” she murmured. “It’s not much, but it will help sooth your thirst.”
Rainmist weakly lapped at the dew and her face relaxed. Bramblebush turned her onto her side and instructed her to stretch out. “It will help your breath come easier.”
Stormfrost sat with her friend for a long while as she died. Ryewing sat beside her, his tail intertwined with hers. The first light of dawn appeared when Rainmist began to speak.
“Swiftsnow?” she breathed, her glassy blue eyes full of love.
Stormfrost jolted. Swiftsnow was dead. What was she talking about?
Rainmist nodded slowly, love fading from her expression and anguish replacing it. “I can’t leave them. I am all they have left!”
“Rainmist stay with us!” Stormfrost pleaded.
Rainmist’s eyes refocused on her. “I want to,” she murmured. “But I can’t. StarClan is calling me. Make sure that my kits know they are loved. Make sure they know they aren’t alone.” Tears streamed down her face. “They will never be alone.”
A beam of sunlight hit Rainmist, turning her speckled gray pelt a glimmering silver. Stormfrost watched as life slowly faded from her eyes. She watched as they dulled, and the lively spirit left her body forever. She watched the pain and sorrow fade away, replaced by simple peace.
    “No!” Stormfrost wailed. “Rainmist, no!”
    “She’s gone,” Ryewing mewed heavily.
Stormfrost stared at Rainmist’s body in disbelief. How could the cheerful she-cat who had been one of the first to welcome her into RockClan be dead? It couldn’t be true. It just couldn’t. It hurt too much to think that Stormfrost would never be able to talk to her best friend ever again. She curled up in pain at the realization that they would never get to hunt together, like they said they would.
Dapplestar approached Rainmist’s body. “We shall give her a proper burial,” she announced. “Rainmist was an honorable warrior, mother, and friend. She will be missed by so many.”
Stormfrost dug Rainmist’s grave, feeling the squish of the mud seep through her paws. An emptiness grew larger and larger in her heart as memories flicked through her mind.
Oh, StarClan, how I hope that you are real. How I hope that Rainmist is among you now, happy and healthy and well-fed and with Swiftsnow.
Stormfrost wished that she could be more like Fernleaf, who believed in StarClan without a doubt. Stormfrost wanted to believe, but she couldn’t bring herself to.
As Rainmist was lowered into her grave, Stormfrost looked away. She didn’t want her last memory of her friend to be her covered in dirt.

This one was sad to write. Thoughts?

    • The sadness. I really enjoyed reading this chapter!

  • Here’s the fifth chapter of my Briarlight X Dovewing fanfic!

    Briarlight’s Heart: Chapter five.
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
A few days went by. Bumblestripe continued to give Dovewing cold glares, and he refused to talk to her, even if they were on patrol together.

Briarlight was doing her best to comfort Dovewing, who was unhappy.

The two she-cats were sharing a rabbit together.

“I know it’s for the best that I broke up with Bumblestripe,” Dovewing mewed, “but I still feel guilty. I know I did the right thing, but…”

Briarlight licked her friend’s ear. “Everything will be alright.” she assured her.

Dovewing purred, and gently licked Briarlight’s head. “You’re such a good friend. Thank you.”

Briarlight’s heart beat quickly, and she felt warm all over… but also happy.

What is this feeling? I think I might have had this feeling for a while now… oh, I’m so confused! she thought.

“Briarlight? Are you okay?” asked Dovewing.

Briarlight realized she hadn’t spoken for several moments, and quickly said, “I’m fine! I was just thinking!”

Dovewing mewed, “Good. I was a little worried.”

“I’m still alive, no need to worry.” Briarlight playfully joked, her blue eyes gleaming with mischief.

Dovewing gently teased, “What am I going to do with you?” Then she affectionately mewed, “You crazy fuzzball.”

Briarlight intertwined her tail with Dovewing’s, dark brown against pale gray.

She closed her eyes, and began to purr. A moment later, she heard Dovewing start to purr as well.

She wished they could stay like this
    forever…

  • 😮 here’s part two of the worm story!

“THERE’S A WORM IN THIS!!” Sushi shrieked in horror. Instantly the whole world was over at Marshmallow’s house, wanting in on the news. A microphone was shoved in front Marshmallow’s face, a whole bunch of reporters surrounding her.

“Marshmallow, is it true that there was a WORM in your prized strawberries? Mew York wants to know!” A news reporter meowed.

“Is it true that an alien force planted toxic worms in your strawberries?” Another reporter pestered her.

“U-uh no! Aliens didn’t put worms in my strawberries…” Marshmallow said flusteredly.

“They did? Purrsylvania will thank you so much for telling us that aliens DID put toxic worms in your strawberries!” The reporter looked at Marshmallow excitedly, and Marshmallow sighed.

“That’s not what I-” Marshmallow meowed, but the reporter cut her off.

“THE WORLD IS IN DANGER FROM ALIENS!” The reporter yowled. Marshmallow looked over the sea of cats, and saw a sobbing Sushi being escorted away from the scene by FIREFIGHTERS? Marshmallow pushed her way through the reporters, trying to reach her friend.

“IS IT TRUE THAT MARSHMALLOW PUT A TOXIC ALIEN WORM IN YOUR STRAWBERRY?” Another reporter screamed at Sushi. Sushi looked confusedly at the reporter.

“No… Marshmallow didn’t put a toxic worm in my strawberry.. BUT SHE PLACED A NORMAL WORM IN IT!” Sushi shrieked. Marshmallow let out a small cry of sadness. She didn’t put the worm in her strawberry!

“I DIDN’T PUT THE WORM IN YOUR STRAWBERRY!! I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!” Marshmallow yelled. Every reporter winced, and Marshmallow realized she was on camera.

  • I wrote a love story.
It’s called Lovers’ Quarrel, and I hope you like it <3

“At least I’m not with someone like you anymore!”
The chilling words sliced Fluttering Rose’s heart in two as she stared at furious, familiar ice-blue eyes. Her heart beat so fast that she was sure the tree’s roots would start shaking.
She woke with a start, seeing the stars still shining brightly above her. “It’s just a dream,” she murmured.
Until Fluttering Rose remembered. The quarrel she had with Dark Sky. Everything came pouring back, the blows struck too close to her heart and the words that would forever pierce her heart.
Concentrating very hard on not trembling, Fluttering Rose turned her gaze to the nest next to her – Dark Sky’s. But it was empty.
With a pang of sadness, she sat up, wrapping her tail around her, and stared up at the stars. Oh StarClan, what do I live for now?
A cool breeze rustled the leaves on the trees above her, and looking up she saw the small, broken shape of Dark Sky as he slept, twitching and trembling in his sleep. She stared longingly at him, wondering if he felt the same way as she did now.
The wind howled and the trees swayed once more, but Fluttering Rose felt nothing except the hole in her heart that had reopened. She tried to forgive and forget the words that she had meowed, the words that he had yowled, but she couldn’t. As sleep took over her once more, she dreamed once more.
Dark Sky’s eyes reflected fire, as he unsheathed his claws and yowled. “You let Star Stream die!”
Fluttering Rose tried to stop herself from screeching the words that had hit too hard, but she could do nothing. “Maybe she wanted to die! Maybe she wanted to die because her brother was someone as dark as you!”
Fluttering Rose felt her heart break over and over again as the scene repeated. She felt her pelt fluff up against the cold as she could do nothing but watch. But something was wrong.
A big branch crashed into her, knocking her out of her private torment and her own paws. Desperately looking up, she saw nothing but the trees falling down one by one as the wind howled, rain poured, and the sky turned black.
Fluttering Rose tried to run opposite towards the wind, but it was too strong and it buffeted her fur as she collapsed. She heard cracks, booms, and crashes as the storm raged on, seeming to wrap around her and throw her away like a tiny pebble.
Fluttering Rose slipped, and when she turned around her heart stopped. Below her was a gorge. It was a gorge bigger than the biggest lake, and taller than the tallest tree. And she was about to fall.
Losing the last ounce of hope she had ever had, she yowled the name that was her only hope, only spirit.
    Dark Sky!”
The howling wind met her cry, and as every heartbeat passed her grip on the wet stones loosened and her strength went down.
Dark Sky!” Fluttering Rose’s cry pierced the air, and just as she was about to lose the only hope she had, she saw a shadow sprinting towards her.
His eyes glistening with emotion, he grabbed her paws with his and dragged her up, pressing himself against her. Even as the rain poured down on the two, Dark Sky didn’t move.
“Fluttering Rose,” he murmured, his voice soft and sad. “I’m so sorry.”
Fluttering Rose’s heart seemed to crack once more as she stared deep into Dark Sky’s pleading eyes. “I’m sorry, too,” she whispered. “I meant none of what I said. I love you, and that’s all that matters.”
The storm died down around them, and the sun inched its way up across the sky, shining down on the two as if nothing had ever happened.
Staring up at the sky, Dark Sky broke into a loud purr, and as she pressed herself against him and breathed in his scent, she knew once more that this time, she would love him forever.

  • I think I’ll repost this scene I wrote a few days ago.

Fireblaze opened her eyes and sat up in bed.
      The clock read 1:02 am.
After several nightmares had reminded Fireblaze of all the problems; All the missions; All the tragedies she needed to prevent… she couldn’t go back to sleep- she had to make plans!
Below her on the bottom bunk, the twins, who were at her house for a sleepover, were fast asleep. Fireblaze climbed down the ladder.
“Hey, wake up,” she whispered, shaking Dusty.
“Huh?” Dusty’s brown eyes flickered open as she looked up at Fireblaze in confusion.
“Emergency meeting,” Fireblaze explained, “Get Sandy.”
“I could try, but she’s a tight sleeper,” Dusty mumbled, glancing to where the yellow hen lay stretched out comfortably next to her sister’s now-empty space.
Fireblaze huffed quietly. “So she’s bad at waking up?”
“She’s good at staying asleep,” Dusty corrected.
Fireblaze pushed past her and crawled across the bed to Sandy.
“Sandy,” she whispered. Sandy didn’t stir. “Hey, Sandy!” this time Fireblaze’s whisper was almost as loud as a normal cluck.
“Go to sleep, Dusty, it was just a dream,” Sandy murmured in her sleep but didn’t wake up.
      “Emergency meeting!”
“It’s the middle of the night…” Sandy muttered.
“One o’clock in the morning could technically be considered, um… morning!” Fireblaze retorted under her breath.
“Come on, Sandy. Please?” she begged.
“Wake up!” Fireblaze gave her friend a rough shake.
      Sandy rolled over.
That’s it! Fireblaze thought, having lost her patience, Time for desperate measures!
She leaned in, close to Sandy’s ear.
“Sandy, get up,” she whispered softly, “Dusty’s hurt.”
Instantly awake, Sandy bolted upright, alarm flashing in her eyes.
Dusty, who was standing by the bed, blinked innocently.

    CHAPTER ONE

“Come on Littlekit, you’re so slow!” Firekit yelled teasingly, racing across camp in a flurry of bright orange tabby fur. Littlekit, who had just been a rogue kit not that long ago, raced after him as fast as he could with his stubby legs. Flamekit, however, watched beside the nursery. Firekit was his brother, and they had always been close, but he had grown quite fond of Littlekit, formerly known as Milo, since he first joined ThunderClan. A ThunderClan hunting patrol had found him near the very edge of Clan territory, Flamekit reflected. Littlekit had only been about 4 moons old at the time, and had been found with an injured forepaw. Nobody truly knows where he came from… When any cat had insisted on asking, Littlekit had just brushed it off and said it wasn’t important, and the only thing they needed to know was that, that time of his life was over. I guess he just wants to fit in with everyone else, he remarked, or maybe there’s more to the story, something he’s hiding… Flamekit quickly shook off the thought. What am I thinking? Littlekit has always been kind to every cat, he should not be accused or blamed for where he was born.
It was sunhigh, clouds drifting by, and the camp was mostly empty except for a few grooming cats and two of the apprentices, Shallowpaw and Snowpaw, showing off recently learned battle moves near their den in the crevice of the camp wall. He heard birdsong in the distance, and looked up to see a red bird tweeting in an oak tree above the hollow. I can’t wait till I can be an apprentice! I’m sick of having to be stuck in camp all day. Flamekit sighed, remembering that his apprentice ceremony was still one full moon away.
“Flamekit!” A voice startled him out of his thoughts. It was Firekit, padding up to him with a smirk on his face. “Don’t just spend the rest of your life moping around the nursery all day. You won’t be a kit forever, you know!” Flamekit flicked his orange tail irritably, I may love my brother, but he can be the biggest mousebrain sometimes!  “I know, I know. You just seemed like you were having enough fun with your new buddy over there.” Flamekit said, gesturing with his paw to Littlekit who was now batting a twig around the camp floor. “What?” Firekit looked confused, and when he turned to see Littlekit he seemed to understand what he was getting on about. “Flame, is that what all this is about?” he asked, looking at him as if he was a father who just saw his newborn kit for the first time. Flamekit rolled his amber eyes at him, “Yes, it is,” Flamekit shot him another angry glare, “and don’t call me Flame!”
Firekit’s face quickly changed from its original warm expression, to a surprised and disappointed ball of flame with eyes and ears. A guilty feeling spread through Flamekit, I don’t mean to be rude. I guess I  just don’t want to be treated like a kit anymore. “Listen, Firekit, I-” Suddenly, Flamekit felt a big wet drop fall on the tip of his nose, and he looked up. He had been so caught up in his thoughts and his fight with his brother, that he hadn’t even noticed a rainstorm was piling in on the camp.
A white and orange figure flashed in the back of his vision. Flamekit turned around to see his mother, Budfrost, rushing toward them from the nursery. “Ugh, this StarClan cursed weather just won’t stop, will it?” she mumbled under her breath, sounding annoyed. It was true, Flamekit thought, It has been raining a lot lately. Although this was Flamekit’s first newleaf, he had heard some of the older warriors saying that this was one of the most rainiest newleafs they had ever witnessed. Budfrost looked at her kits warmly, “Let’s get you two back to the nursery.” With one last glance over his shoulder at Flamekit, Firekit padded into the bramble den. Littlekit ran after him, slipping on his own wet brown paws. Flamekit walked slowly through the rain after them, his head bowed. Why didn’t I just keep my mouth shut?
Then, suddenly, the rain stopped hitting his fur. Flamekit looked up, confused, to see his mother walking beside him with her white tail raised over his back. “Is everything okay, Flamekit?” Budfrost asked, concern in her eyes. Would his mother understand? I don’t want her to think I’m jealous… “Everything is fine.” Flamekit said, looking down at his white paws again. Budfrost continued, “Well, okay,” she said, unconvinced. “But if you ever want to talk, I’m here.” she said, bending down to nuzzle his cheek as they entered the nursery. No matter how sad I get, my mother always finds a way to cheer me up, he realized, as a feeling of comfort spread through his pelt.
                                     ~
The rain had slowed down, and outside, the ground was soaked from wall to wall. It was well past sunhigh now, and Flamekit was sitting in his nest next to his mother and the sleeping Firekit. Littlekit sat on the other side of Budfrost, lightly snoring. Blackkit and Skykit, the two she-kits Flamekit shared a den with, were laid next to their mother, Swiftcloud. It seemed every cat in ThunderClan was sleeping in their den, except Flamekit that is. He had too much on his mind to rest. He looked toward the nursery entrance, outlined with the bramble that made up of it, watching the rain drizzle to the ground. I hate when I upset my brother, he thought, I always feel guilty after. He didn’t do anything wrong, yet I still yelled at him like the mousebrain I am.
Flamekit heard the sound of paw steps behind him and turned around in surprise. It was Blackkit, her pure black pelt hard to make out from the darkness of the night. “Hey Flamekit,” she said slyly, “What are you doing?” She asked, as she stepped before him and flicked her dark tail curiously. Flamekit and Blackkit had grown quite close since Littlekit joined ThunderClan. She always seems to have a sly remark that cheers me up, he realized, as he looked up at her. “Oh, I was just…” He looked around the nursery for an excuse. “thinking.” he finished. Blackkit rolled her amber eyes, the only thing he could really make out of her in the darkness. “Whatever, Flamekit. I know something’s wrong.” She looked at him tauntingly and added, “There’s obviously a reason you’re sitting up in your nest, and staring at the rain in the middle of the night!”
He looked at Blackkit half embarrassed, half amused. “Okay, okay, you caught me!” he exclaimed at last. Flamekit straightened back up and padded to the side of the den, and beckoned her closer with his tail. She headed towards him, and once they were close enough for the other cats in the den not to overhear, he started to explain what happened previous that day. He told her about his argument with Firekit, and his jealousy towards Littlekit. It feels good to let someone else know about my worries. After he had finally finished, he looked at her hesitantly and added sadly, “I don’t know what to do.”
She looked behind herself at Firekit, then looked back at Flamekit. “I think you should talk it out with him. You can’t be mad at each other forever!” Easier said than done, Flamekit thought with irritation. But I know she’s right. Even though Blackkit was two quarter moons younger than him, she seemed so much more wiser and reasonable. I respect her for that. “I know you’re right.” he replied to her, “Thanks for listening, Blackkit.” She looked at him, but not with her usual teasing and sly look, but with a look he didn’t see very often on her. She gave him a warm and kind smirk and added, “Any time, Flamekit.” Then she turned and padded back to her mother’s nest.
Flamekit stayed where he was beside the den wall, and looked after her. He watched her yawn beside her nest, and then lie close beside her sister once again. A feeling that Flamekit had never felt before swept over him from ears to tail tip. A feeling that Flamekit couldn’t completely identify. He rose to his paws and shook his pelt firmly. He then walked back to his nest where his mother and Firekit still lied.
He laid down on the soft green moss and rested his muzzle on his paws. He suppressed a shiver, as the cold moss hit his belly fur. He started to think back at what Blackkit had told him. As soon as I get the chance, I will have to apologize to Firekit, Flamekit promised inside his head. That is, if there isn’t another storm that interrupts it! He snorted a laugh of amusement to himself and rolled his eyes. Flamekit looked over his shoulder at his brother, who was curled up next to Littlekit, and then looked over at Blackkit who was now sleeping soundly again, and with that he closed his eyes and let sleep overcome him.

                     CHAPTER TWO

Flamekit sat in a shaded spot near the apprentices den. The rain had completely stopped and the sun was just starting to show beyond the treetops. The clearing was filled with cats. The dawn patrol had just returned, and the last hunting patrol had set out for the abandoned twoleg nest. Snowpaw and Graypaw were standing next to the camp entrance with their mentors, Yarrowtail and Lightsplash, their tails curled in excitement of going out to train. The leader of ThunderClan, Rainstar, sat on the Highledge where she called Clan meetings, watching her Clan from above. Her beautiful gray pelt visible against the bright rays of the sun. Today’s the day I need to talk to my brother. Flamekit scanned the clearing, looking for the bright orange tabby fur that would be Firekit. As soon as he spotted him near the nursery, Flamekit rose to his paws and started to pad over to him.
Before he was even halfway there, a tom’s voice sounded behind him. What now? He turned around to see his father, Foxthorn, heading towards him. “Hey Flamekit, Budfrost told me that you haven’t really been yourself lately.” He flicked his tail concernedly, and cocked his head curiously toward Flamekit. “Is everything alright?” Flamekit felt a flash of annoyance spread through him. I’m almost 6 moons old, and every cat’s still acting like it’s my first time out of the nursery! Flamekit flicked his ear, “Yes!” He added after looking over his shoulder at Firekit, “Everything is fine.” All he wanted to do was go talk to his brother.
He turned around to walk away, when Foxthorn stepped forward and blocked his path with his big tail. He looked down at Flamekit understandingly, “I know what this is all about, Flamekit.” He looked up at his father, shocked. Oh no, is my jealousy really that easy to spot? His father knew him better than any cat, better than Budfrost, better than Firekit, even better than Blackkit, but he never thought he could identify his feelings so easily. Foxthorn leaned closer to Flamekit, so close that their noses almost touched, “I saw your little fight with Firekit yesterday.” Flamekit took a step back and flattened his ears. So his father had witnessed the whole ordeal. Well, that’s just what I need right now! Flamekit thought bitterly. He looked back up at his father uneasily, “Well, Firekit was being annoying…” Foxthorn, who was still looking down at him, flicked his orange tail. “He’s your brother, Flamekit. Was it that he was being annoying, or was it that you were succumbing to your jealousy?”
As soon as his father brought up the subject, Flamekit looked down at his paws. No matter how much he didn’t want to admit it, he knew it was true. He was jealous of Firekit’s relationship with Littlekit. It just seems like every time I want to play with Firekit, Littlekit is always in the way. Flamekit thought miserably. He was startled when Foxthorn started to speak again, this time his voice sounded more gentle. “Im sorry, Flamekit..” His father looked down at his paws sorrowfully. “I just don’t want you to feel sorry for yourself. You need to be strong. Remember,” he added, looking back up at his son proudly, “one day, you will be a warrior!” My father has great hopes for me, he reflected, I just hope I can live up to his expectations… Flamekit looked back at Foxthorn, “I know,” After that, he added a bit more enthusiastically, “I guess I should be apologizing for being a mousebrain now.” Foxthorn looked at Flamekit warmly, “Ha, I guess so.” and padded off in the direction he originally came from.
Flamekit let his amber gaze travel back to where Firekit was now washing his face with a forepaw, and walked over to him. When Flamekit was just close enough to him, Firekit looked up expectantly. He took a deep breath and said, “Uh, hey Firekit.” Flamekit looked up at his brother sorrowfully and added, “I’m really sorry about yesterday.” Firekit looked back at him with clouded eyes and turned his head in the opposite direction, as if not accepting Flamekit’s apology. He started to get desperate, and without even knowing it the sound of his voice started to rise, “I wasn’t trying to hurt your feelings!” After a moment of more silence, Flamekit exclaimed again, “I’m sorry!” I know I sound like a baby, but I just don’t want my brother to resent me.  Even though no one else was paying any attention to him, he was sure everyone in camp could hear his caterwauls. When he heard the desperation in his voice, Firekit turned back to his brother in revelation, then a look of understanding formed on his face.
“It’s okay, Flamekit.” He looked teasily at his brother, “I forgive you. I shouldn’t have been so sensitive.” Flamekit looked back at him, surprised, “So, you’re not mad?” Now Firekit was the one who looked surprised, “Of course not!” Then added more cheerfully, “You’re my brother. It’s my job to be there for you!” Flamekit suppressed a chuckle and flicked Firekit over the ear with his tail tip.
“Hey!” Firekit yelped, and leaped at his brother playfully. They tumbled in a ball of orange fur, and Flamekit fell to the ground with a thud, “Ow!” He struggled to his paws under Firekit’s weight, and Flamekit pushed his brother to the ground. Ha! Maybe I will make a good warrior. Flamekit thought proudly. “I win!” he taunted him.
Firekit struggled back up and shook his head, dirt and shrubs from the camp floor that were lingering on his fur sprayed Flamekit’s pelt. He looked at Firekit joking-like and declared, “Ugh, you mousebrain, look what you did to my pelt!” Firekit looked at him with big, round, innocent eyes, “Oh, I’m sorry!” Then gave him a more sly look, “Did I spoil your good looks?” Flamekit rolled his eyes, and just when he was about to reply, a voice sounded behind them. “Hey guys!” Flamekit recognized the voice of Littlekit, Of course, it had to be Littlekit! he thought bitterly.
“Oh, ugh, hey Littlekit…” Firekit said awkwardly, giving a worried glance at Flamekit. Littlekit let his pale green gaze travel to Flamekit, “Hi, Flamekit!” Littlekit said, giving him a polite nod. Flamekit looked down at his paws and replied with a simple, “Hi.” Littlekit padded a bit closer and let his gaze lead back to Firekit, “So Firekit, I was wondering if you wanted to come check out this really strange plant I found. It looks so weird!”
Firekit looked up at him willingly and with a raised tail, but then, as if realizing Flamekit was still there, he gave Littlekit a disappointed look, Oh no, I can just imagine Littlekit’s poor face when Firekit tells him he can’t come! By the time Flamekit snapped out of his thoughts, Firekit was uttering, “Oh, sorry Littlekit, but I-” Flamekit quickly interrupted him with a flick of his tail, “Of course, Firekit would love to go with you! As a matter of fact,” Flamekit gave his brother a side wink, “we both would.” Firekit looked at him as if a huge black spider was crawling on his face. “Really?” Flamekit nodded at him, and turned back to Littlekit. His brother’s friend looked almost as astonished as Firekit himself.
Littlekit beckoned them with his tail and trotted off in the direction of the apprentices den. Flamekit and Firekit padded a bit behind. Firekit looked at Flamekit curiously, “Why did say that? I thought you were jealous of Littlekit!” I was, Flamekit remarked. He looked at Firekit hesitantly, “Well, I was, but I didn’t want Littlekit to feel like he did something wrong, because he didn’t.” Firekit looked back at him accusingly and teasing-like, “So, you finally admit it?” He then suppressed a laugh. Flamekit rolled his eyes and continued to stock off towards Littlekit, who was now waiting for them beside the den, his eyes bright with excitement.
Once the two brothers finally made it across the camp to where Littlekit was standing, he stepped aside to reveal an odd looking plant. It’s petals were light pink and were white on the edges, the stem was long and bright green. That’s the biggest plant I’ve ever seen! Flamekit thought, astonished. The flower was just higher than Flamekit and was growing next to a small bush that grew against the camp wall and the apprentices den. “Woah, it’s so tall!” Firekit exclaimed, looking up at the plant with wide eyes. Littlekit looked on proudly, “Yeah, I know, and I found it!” There has to be other cats that know about this strange plant, maybe it’s a herb medicine cats use? Flamekit looked back at Littlekit, “I mean, there may be others that have already discovered it.”  Firekit nodded in agreement, “Yeah Littlekit,” he said jokingly, “stop acting like you’re gonna make Clan history!” Littlekit shot him an annoyed glare, but quickly returned to his usual friendly, enthusiastic expression.
“Do you really think some cat has already found it?” he asked, disappointed. Flamekit replied to him fervently, trying to cheer him up, “Maybe this is one of Wolftail’s herbs.” Littlekit looked at him, unconvinced, “I have been in the medicine den many times, and I have never seen anything in there that looks like this plant before.”  Firekit gave Flamekit a glance and trotted closer to the strange looking plant. He nosed his orange muzzle towards the petals, having to stand on his two back legs to reach it. “Wow, this doesn’t smell half bad!” he exclaimed, plopping back onto all four paws once again. Littlekit chuckled in amusement, “I wonder if it tastes as good as it smells!”
Flamekit looked at him enthusiastically, “Well if you want to know so much, you should try it yourself!” Littlekit looked a little confused, “You mean eat it? No way!” Firekit padded toward him, “What, are you a scaredy-mouse?” Flamekit at his brother’s side, added in agreement, “Yeah, are you scared?” Littlekit straightened up and flicked his tail indignantly, “I’m no scaredy-mouse!” He walked past the two brothers and looked up at the tall flower. He’s not going to really do it, is he? Flamekit and his brother exchanged a glance, as if thinking the same thing.
Littlekit bent the stem down with one forepaw and once he was close enough to reach the top, he began tearing off the pink petals one by one. Oh my StarClan! He’s really going to do it after all! Once all the petals were off, Littlekit began munching on each one, a look of disgust on his face. Flamekit stared at him in shock, until every last petal had been swallowed down. Littlekit let go of the stem and sat up, shaking his head as if the petals didn’t taste as good as a juicy mouse. Firekit bounced up and down and rushed toward Littlekit, “You did it! You really did it!” he yelled. Flamekit padded quickly after him and said, “I can’t believe it. I guess you aren’t a scaredy-mouse after all, Littlekit!” Firekit looked at Flamekit and nodded in agreement and asked eagerly, “How did it taste?” Littlekit looked at him, still looking a bit disgusted, “A bit sour, but let’s just say, it definitely didn’t taste as good as it smelled!”
All three kits laughed in amusement, and curled their tails in delight. After they had all settled a bit down, Flamekit glanced back at Littlekit, who stood on the other side of Firekit. Maybe I was wrong about Littlekit, and now, I see why Firekit was so keen on being his friend. Once Flamekit was knocked out of his thoughts, he noticed Littlekit was also staring at him, a smile on his face. Not maybe, I really was wrong about him. Flamekit thought, and smiled back at the small tabby tom.

That’s it! Chapter 3 will be coming soon. Can’t wait to hear your options on this! Also, I need a title for the book, so could you guys help me out with one? And again, hope you enjoyed reading!

Redstar, his father, mentor, leader was also in the den.

“Did we win?” Bluntpaw asked him weakly.
    Redstar turned to him gravely.

    “No.”
