Louis La Roche’s music is amazing, and he’s from my country! 😀
(He makes French House music, but he’s not French 😛 )
gonna do a small thng, character theme song recommendations!! fill out this form and i’ll think of a song that fits your character 😀
character name:
detailed personality:
backstory (if they have one):
theme songs you already have in mind (if you have any):
type of song you’re looking for (genre):
explicit songs ok?:
other:
Cool idea! 🙂 I have no characters that need theme songs, but my purrsona’s theme is ‘Superstition’ by Stevie Wonder. 😛
I’m sorry in advance 😛
character name: Jack Bailey
detailed personality: A pretty laid-back fellow. Friendly, generous, steadfast, and devoted, he deeply cares for his friends Louis and Shirley, and his elderly mother Marian.
backstory (if they have one): Jack’s father, Gregory Bailey, had always wanted to be a musician, specifically, a singer. However, after the first World War, his lungs became weak and he was forced to leave his dream behind. While his father died when Jack was incredibly young, his mom passed on these stories, which inspired Jack to sing in his honour.
theme songs you already have in mind (if you have any): I don’t think I have any!
type of song you’re looking for (genre): Classic pop mostly, as that is his forte. So songs by Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and the greats from that era.
explicit songs ok?: I suppose so, however, I highly doubt that’ll be a problem 😛
other: His story takes place in 1950’s New York City. He is a musician, the lead tenor in a trio with his friends, but also does solo gigs. He loves building model trains. He loves baseball, and is especially fond of the Brooklyn Dodgers and their star player Jackie Robinson. He lives in an apartment by Central Park South, and frequents the local diner, where he indulges in chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream, his favourite snack.
help i literally have no idea
I’m not Eggsnake, but how about ‘Talkin’ Baseball’ by Terry Cashman? I know that it came out in 1981, but it talks about the history of American Baseball from the 1950’s up to the early 80’s and you mentioned that your character likes Baseball, so I thought it would fit, though now that I think about it, I think that ‘There Used to be a Ballpark’ by Frank Sinatra is ideal for your character because it’s about growing up as a kid in New York City and having fun while playing Baseball (or any other ball games) while eating your favourite snacks and treats. 🙂
Wait, those songs actually fit really well for ol’ Jack. Thank you for the suggestions!
You’re very welcome! 😀 Glad they fit your character!
i’ve been listening to a lot of Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely recently, and i’d definetly recommend them! as a disclaimer though for anyone who does want to listen to them they are both explicit.
I’m listening to ‘Baby You Want’ by TKNIK right now and I somehow keep mishearing the robotic Daft Punk-like vocals in the chorus as ‘Spaghetti Meatballs’. 😛
Oh lol 😛
the scientist by coldplay is very sad and touching
one of my favorite songs and i relate to it very much, love the lyrics a lot especially
(coldplay when hotwork walks in:)
coldplay is also a very nice music artist, their songs are good
i agree!! clocks was my favorite song for a while because i loved the piano, same with viva la vida but with the strings!
ew hotwork hate them >:( /j
I haven’t listened to that song before, but my favourite Coldplay songs have to be ‘Yellow’ and ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’. 🙂
Adventure of a Lifetime has no place to be that groovy 😛
Agreed. 😛
heads on a science apart (me fr)
I love the scientist so so so so much! It’s such a touching and emotional song idk whether to cry or sing along when I hear it
On a similar vein, Now My Feet Won’t Touch The Ground is a major deep cut and very emotional. And even though it doesn’t sound like The Scientist, O may be the most touching and pretty Coldplay song <3 (note, when it sounds like it finishes, it hasn't 😛 )
Adding to this, My Tears Ricochet by Taylor Swift is also super touching! I love it sm agdkahdkahskal
Funny you say that bc guess what I’m listening to right now? it’s such a pretty song fr though <3 I'm a collector of pretty songs
the tame impala cover of confide in me by kylie minogue is SO GOOD HOW DOES HE HIT THOSE HIGH NOTES also the guitar solo is absolute fire and julien killed it on the drums fr!!! apparently kevin parker’s vocal range is g2-e5 which is absolutely insane what?? man needs to leave some talent for the rest of us…
also i recently discovered that dominic simper of tame impala has his own solo project called bambi and his songs are really different and simplistic but they’re a vibe ngl! took me a while to understand his songs but i love all the chord changes and intricate flipping of melodies and stuff like that, it’s giving steve reich :)) my favorite bambi songs have got to be weber fechner and the first snow of the winter!! unfortunately he only has like six songs though and i dont think he plans on releasing any new ones any time soon
i know jay watson of tame impala has his own project as well called gum and i’ve been a fan for a while now (not as hardcore as my obsession with tame impala but i like his songs), haven’t listened to his songs in a while but i remember really liking the underdog! (both the song and the entire album lol)! nick allbrook formerly of tame impala is also the frontman of pond and their songs are fire, jay watson’s in that too actually :) cam avery of tame impala is also the frontman of the growl which i’ve never heard of before but i plan to listen to, and idk if julien barbagallo has any of his own music but i do know he was in a lot of other bands in the past that i cannot understand because they are all french 😛
also i’m legitimately considering learning percussion because tame impala’s drum parts are so good… in particular i’ve always loved the drums on breathe deeper and half full glass of wine!! but also that snare roll and then rimshot he does on instant destiny is so satisfying idk how else to describe it, and in general i love how every album has its own distinctive drum sound!! (tame impala ep has the muffled complex drums, innerspeaker has blown out crazy drums especially in alter ego which i really really like, lonerism has all the weird drum fills/patterns especially on mind mischief and music to walk home by, currents has really clean satisfying drums [i like the ones on let it happen and new person same old mistakes], and the slow rush has complex and clean drums!)
gonna end off this very long obsessive post by mentioning all my other favorite musical artists whose music i have neglected because of my tame impala obsession 😛 apparently jack met of ajr has an even bigger vocal range than kevin parker which i refuse to believe, honestly ajr is just on another level with their production quality especially recently! inertia is one of my favorite songs ever, same with 2085 which i need to learn how to play on the guitar!! i never really got into weezer beyond pinkerton and the blue album, but getchoo is still also one of my favorite songs (same with all my favorite songs ft. ajr, quite fittingly 😛 )! i’ve also been getting into linkin park recently (even more than usual lol), and the chord progression in one step closer is really cool and i like it a lot! same with the offspring and don’t ask me how i managed to avoid hearing this song all this time but come out and play is absolutely amazing it reignited my love for 90s rock, also the title of pretty fly (for a white guy) made me a little confused at first but the lyrics are actually really interesting! and of course i could not ever forget psychedelic p crumpets one of my all time favorite psychedelic rock bands, their high visceral era stuff will always be some of their best imo but their other stuff is also really really good and the textures they use on their guitars paired with their insane drums make their songs so satisfying to listen to!! (if tame impala did a collab with any of the artists i just mentioned i think i would just. ascend)
help i just found out kevin parker speaks french he’s too good,,,…
Wow, Kevin Parker has some talent. 😛
The best that I can do with music is sing deeply, play ‘Mary had a little lamb’ on the piano and learn how to play video game music on my Kalimba by ear. 😛
i mean hey that’s better than what i can do
You know, I enjoy listening to music that either inspired Daft Punk’s music, was inspired by Daft Punk or just coincidentally sounds like something they’d make. 😛
For example, in the case of the final DP album ‘Random Access Memories’, ‘I Thought it Was You’ by Herbie Hancock inspired the sound and feel of the album, while ‘They Don’t Love You Like I do’ by Maximum Love was definitely inspired by Daft Punk, and ‘Hyperfocus’ by Sunset Rollercoaster actually sounds like it came straight of RAM, though I don’t know if they were inspired by Daft Punk when they wrote the song. 😛
Has anyone here listened to The Crane Wives’s songs? Honestly they are one of my favorite bands and all of their songs are so good 💜
I’ve listened to one, but I like lots of similar songs!
So uh- I put this in the Sunning Patch without knowing the existence of this page :,]

Who else loves Blixemi? I like the songs I’ll Fly, Frost, I’m not fine, Shifting Roots, Walk Without The Stars, and I’ll be complete by her, + Chameleon even though that’s not a Warrior cats song.
I dont listen to her songs but i love her content!
I love jayfeathers song (cant remember the name ) and Im not fine also Shared eyes
I listened to every Blixemi song that didn’t have spoilers for where I was at in the series, back in the day, and I quite like Shifting Roots.

Beige – Yoke Lore
Next To You – John Vincent III
still feel – half alive
Used to Be In Love – Jungle Giants

My Type – Saint Motel
Georgia – Vance Joy
Key to Life on Earth – Declan McKenna
Her (Loving You) – Glades
omg w music taste
yours is amazing tooo <3
Talking Heads and They Might Be Giants have some good Alt. Rock music, as well as Peter Gabriel! 🙂
As for Indie Music, how about Sunset Rollercoaster, Skylar Spence, Parcels, Chromeo, Ginger Root, Her’s, Midnight Generation, Maximum Love, Studio Killers, The Lemon Twigs and TWRP?
I don’t know or remember what your music tastes are, but please know that my music tastes are a little more on the groovy side. 😛
paint me silver by pond 🔛🔝
i’ve been listening to a lot of pond and gum because i love nick allbrook and jay watson voices so much, their vocal ranges are absolutely insane and they pull it off so well (also the production on their songs is on point)
if you wanna give them a listen pond is gonna take some getting used to because their songs are way more experimental even than a lot of the other psychedelic rock artists i listen to, i kinda dig it though, kind of space rocky a little
