Silvertail defends some of Warriors most despised cats.
5-Mapleshade
She just fell in love with a RiverClan cat and had his kits. Seem ok? Well it’s not. Her clan kicked her out after finding out, then she tried to swim across the river with her kits. They drowned, sadly. While all of this happened, her mate, Appledusk, was cozying up with some other she-cat. I mean really! He blamed Mapleshade for the kits dying, and then Mr. I-Don’t-Care-I’m-Gonna-Let-You-Die (Oakstar) shows up on the scene, not letting Mapleshade stay in RiverClan. How rude.
4-Brokenstar
It wasn’t his fault he turned evil. He was raised by a cold and aggressive cat who thought of him as useless, unnecessary, and a waste of milk. She even told him that! Yellowfang just had no choice. It was either give Brokenkit to Lizardstripe, or be (most likely) exiled from ShadowClan, where she would (most likely) die. How heartbreaking.
3-Ashfur
He just loved too much! He should have just accepted the fact that Squirrelflight didn’t love him. They might have even become friends. But no, it wasn’t enough for him. He wanted all of her love. No Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight, but Ashfur and Squirrelflight. He still was a good warrior, though. He might have even become clan leader.
2- Breezepelt
So Crowfeather didn’t love him. Doesn’t mean you have to turn evil. I just can’t understand why Nightpelt would speak up for him and fill him with hatred. So she’s mad because her mate didn’t really love her. It doesn’t mean you have to fill your only son with anger and hatred! He even attacked Jayfeather and Poppyfrost! First of all, Jayfeather was a blind medicine cat. Second of all, Poppyfrost was an expecting queen! And in the great battle, he even attacks Lionblaze! He could have been a great warrior.
1-Tallstar
I know what you’re thinking. ‘Tallstar? Why is he on this list? He was great!’ well, that’s not what I mean. He had a rough start. His father Sandgorse died in the tunnels, and Talltail(star) went after the cat he thinks did it. He ends up saving the cat and learning that his father saved the cat. Talltail went home in peace. But that’s not all. His mother, Palebird, got another mate. (Too lazy to search his name) She had kits with him, and pretended Talltail wasn’t her son. She never talked to him or acknowledged him! That’s just horrible!
Palebird’s new mate was Woollytail 🙂
1. Her story makes me cry every time, but you cannot justify her killings. She went to the Dark Forest for a reason! I love her too but you can’t say it’s okay for her to commit murder because people rejected her.
2. What I don’t get about Brokenstar’s birth was that Yellowfang was punished for having kits and having a forbidden relationship. She gave birth to three kits alone, two of which died, and the remaining one was going to grow up to become a tyrant. What about Leafpool? 2 of her kits were a part of some amazing prophecy to save the Clans, and her other kit could talk to a ghost that died moons ago in the tunnels! Leafpool was a medicine cat AND mated with a cat outside of her Clan, so in a way it’s worse than Yellowfang. Don’t get me wrong, I love Leafpool, but I just can’t stand how she did something worse than Yellowfang, wasn’t punished, but Yellowfang was. I REST MY CASE.
I don’t think Yellowfang was actually being punished by StarClan, I think that’s just how she perceived it because of her guilt.
Great article! 😀
Some cats are just mean.
Very true. Also, Tigerstar was influenced by his mentor Thistleclaw
Awesome! 😀
Nice article, Silvertail!
1- I believe Mapleshade could’ve been a good warrior, however she went down the wrong path. Of course it’s not her fault for falling in love, having kit or be exiled. But, perhaps if she didn’t fall in love with Appledusk, then maybe she would’ve been a great warrior. Perhaps even deputy then maybe leader.
2- Like with others on this list, if he was raised correctly, he could’ve been a good leader. Instead he had a father who spoiled him and didn’t pay attention to what he could become. To make matters worse, Lizardstripe hated him and made her kits bully him. Not to mention she also didn’t feed him properly. But hey, I personally believe it’s the fault of Sagewisher(I hate her so much. Why teach your apprentice to block out her stupid powers, which I find as a really dumb plot point, after forcing her to be a medicine cat?), Lizardstripe and Raggedstar.
3- So if person A and person B are in a relationship for a while but Person A breaks up with Person B, does that give Person B the right to attempt/kill Person A or one of their loved ones? But let’s say if Person A was killed, let’s slap that excuse of “loving too much” on and what does it do? Nothing. There was still the murder of someone involved. I don’t care if Person B was loving too much when they killed Person A, they still them and deserve to be punished! The same thing here goes with Ashfur. He didn’t outright murder anyone, however he tried to kill four innocents, including his leader and medicine cat apprentice, and everyone sees him as the hero or something. The point is, what if Ashfur succeeded in killing Firestar, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze? Would you excuse his actions then?
4- If raised correctly, as you mentioned a father who pays attention to him and a mother who didn’t fill him with hate and anger, I believe Breezepelt could’ve been a great warrior.
5- I don’t really agree with Tallstar being on this list. I mean, he wasn’t once great or could’ve been, he was great. True he had a rocky start, however there are plenty of other warriors who did as well.
I do feel really bad for Mapleshade, but she did still kill a bunch of cats – and she killed and manipulated even more after she died.
Uh, sure he was abused by Lizardstripe and spoiled too much by Raggedstar, but it was his own choice to start killing cats. He had a bad childhood, but he still had a choice, and he chose to murder his way to power and to become a tyrant who let kits die to win his battles. It was his own choice and his own fault.
I don’t think someone whose reaction to being broken up with is to try and murder her father and children is a good warrior or only “loved too much.”
Nice article, but I don’t agree with any of these at all. For mainly the same reason – however much influence they had, it was always their decision to start killing (or attempting to kill) other cats. Except for Tallstar. Even though he wanted to kill Sparrow, he was pretty much driven mad by grief, but the fact that he was able to turn around and save him, and then go home, save some kits and catch a huge bird, and become a loyal warrior and a great leader, puts him way above the other cats listed here. He was not evil, no matter if he was influenced. His story also shows that all the other cats in this list could have turned it around and be better like Tallstar did, making it even more apparent that their evilness was their fault and no one else’s, no matter if they had influence or not.
I agree with your opinion on these cats. Nice article!
I have a theory, if we all posted on an article, say this one, so much, would they have to read post this article like they do with the tavern? Good article by the way.
Probably not. Besides, I doubt that an article would get so many posts from so many people.
Yeah. Probably not likely unless like everyone spammed tons of stuff which I would think would be kinda rude on someone’s article.
Well, it was just a thought.
Thank you all for reading and liking my article! Yes, I’m Silvertail, just different name. 😀
Ohhhhhhhhhhh 😛
I like the list, although I personally would add Hollyleaf on there. She could have been a great warrior, maybe even a leader, but when she found out that she and her brothers and been breaking the warrior code (which was basically the thing that helped her choose what to do, how she did basicly anything) by just being alive, and that a cat who had almost tried to kill her would tell every clan in the forest, she panicked, and killed Ashfur. Now she had broken the code two ways, and she snapped, she couldn’t keep it in anymore, so she told every cat what Leafpool and Crowfeather had done, and hid. However she did come back to save Ivypool life, so she still might be great some ppl would argue. Anyway love the article!
