“Raven, when we find proof of what you did you will be punished,” Slash said, her red eyes intense.
~Rain~
“Let’s not jump to conclusions!” Rain begged, “What if Raven didn’t do it?” Her cluck was almost drawned out by the accusing voices of other animals around her.
~Jenny~
“Raven, did you see and other animals around you during your hunt? Anyone who could help prove that you didn’t do it?” Jenny asked. She felt doubts of Raven’s innocence, but she would like to have more proof before making decisions.
~Raven~
Raven looked at her paws, mumbling. “No.”
~Cody~
“I saw Raven!” shrieked Cody, leaping to her friend. “I was stalking her, to see if she would know I was there! She failed miserably though.” Cody thought quickly. “She didn’t kill anyone, except that rabbit.”
Molly~
Molly’s usually gentle voice was a cold as ice: “I can’t believe this. We trusted you, we all did!”
Lucy~
“Let’s not jump to conclusions!” Lucy said, feeling sorry for Raven. Suppose she hadn’t done it?
Carlotta~
“But she so clearly did!” Carlotta argued.
Lucy~
“Hear her out!” Lucy exclaimed, giving the others a pleading look.
Wishspring~
“It’s okay, Raven. I believe you.” Wishspring meowed.
“I do not think you are a killer.”
Willowbranch~
“Neither do I.” Willowbranch mewed.
She turned to the others.
“Raven is our friend! Stop blaming her for something she didn’t do!”
Baby Pluto~
“I don’t want to think that ANYBODY is a killer,” woofed Baby Pluto.
“But someone is. But I don’t think it’s Raven.”
Athena~
Athena had no idea what to say. “Raven… you aren’t a killer. Are you?” was all she could think of to say.
Shade~
“Of course she isn’t!” Shade snapped at her sister.
Stormy~
“Ash, you don’t really think Raven…” mewed Stormy, too scared to finish his sentence.
Ash~
“I do.” Ash coolly said.
“Raven, if you EVER hurt my kits, it’s CURTAINS for you!” she snarled, leaping to attack Raven.
~Raven~
Raven braced herself, and jumped onto Ash’s back. She pinned her down, and raised a claw, ready to strike Ash’s throat. She heard a couple of gasps around her.
A small mew came from behind her. “Raven…”
Raven tried to ignore Cody.
~Hurricane~
Hurricane curled his lip. “I believe that’s all the proof we need.”
Shouts of anger and shock rose from the crowd.
~Tempest~
Tempest stared at Tamar’s body. She couldn’t look away from it. Her old friend… dead.
But something inside her was unsure. Something that told her Tamar wasn’t dead. That she was just biding her time, waiting for the right moment…
But that thought was absurd.
Right?
Kordi~
“Ash! Stop it!” Kordi gasped.
Jazzy~
“Don’t attack her! She might be innocent!” Jazzy pleaded.
~Slash~
“Stop!” Slash leaped between Ash and Raven, separating them.
Ash~
Ash glared furiously at Slash, but stepped away from Raven.
Stormy~
“Why’d Mother do that?” Stormy whispered.
Shade~
“I’ve never seen her so… mean before!” Shade exclaimed.
Athena~
Fury bursting in Athena, she ran up to her mother.
“Ash! Why’d you attack her?” she demanded.
~Hurricane~
Hurricane glared at Raven coldly.
~Foliis~
Foliis narrowed her eyes in anger at Raven.
~Nyx~
Nyx stood there, her head high and her gaze steady yet unreadable.
~Tempest~
Tempest growled quietly.
~Raven~
Raven looked around frantically. “Cody? Cody! Please, tell them it isn’t true!”
But Cody remained silent, her head bent.
Hurricane snarled. “Even Cody admits it.”
Lucy~
“I believe you, Raven!” Lucy said.
She added, “I refuse to think you’re a killer. I know you aren’t.”
Jazzy~
“I agree with Lucy. Raven’s a friend of all of ours. Are we really going to insist she’s a murderer?”
Kordi~
Her blue tail swishing back and forth, Kordi said, “I’m shocked.” She stared at all of the animals who said that Raven was guilty.
“Are you really doing this? Like Jazzy said, why are we blaming Raven? She’s our friend.”
Ash~
“Never you mind, kittens. This conversation isn’t for your ears.” meowed Ash, leading them back to the nest.
Athena~
“Mother!” protested Athena.
Shade~
“We wanna hear more!” Shade mewed.
Stormy~
Stormy sighed. “Mother…”
Ash~
Ash carried all three of her kittens back to their nest by their scuffs.
Then she walked back to the others.
“So. Shall we have a trial for Raven?” she asked.
Molly~
Molly said, “I suppose that’s only fair, even though I think she’s guilty.”
Baby Pluto~
“Raven is not guilty!” Baby Pluto insisted, his pale yellow fur bristling.
Wishspring ~
“Yes. We will have a trail.” Wishspring said.
Willowbranch ~
“Raven, we WILL prove your innocence,” Willowbranch promised.
~Raven~
Raven didn’t say anything. She was staring at Cody.
~Cody~
Cody was on the verge of tears. She didn’t know what to think. Raven wouldn’t kill. She wouldn’t.
But she would have killed Ash if Slash hadn’t stopped her.
The horrible thought was creeping into her mind.
She would have killed her, and the kits would have watched their mother die at the paws of someone who is supposedly ‘innocent’.
Cody suddenly yowled for everyone’s attention. Several of the animals jumped.
“I know everyone’s on edge at the moment,” shouted Cody. “There has been a death, and we’re all desperate to blame someone, get it over and done with. Animals saying that Raven is guilty, and animals saying she is not. But at the end of the day…”
Raven smiled, a wave of relief washing over her. Cody was going to defend her! Everything was going to be all right! She was-
“I think we should put Raven on trial.”
Lucy~
“Why?” Lucy asked. “She’s innocent, some animals just refuse to see it!”
~Cody~
Cody bent her head lower.
“But what if she isn’t,” murmured Cody. “We can’t make the wrong choice.”
Kordi~
“I guess you’re right.” Kordi said.
Ash~
“Where and when will this trial be?” Ash mewed.
Athena~
“What’s a trial?” meowed Athena.
Lucy~
Answering Athena, Lucy said, “It’s where we figure out if someone is guilty of a crime or not.”
Athena~
“Ok.”
Shade~
“We get to come, right?” Shade mewed.
Stormy~
“I don’t want to miss anything!” Stormy said.
Ash~
“You can come to the trial,” Ash told her kittens, “but don’t bother anyone.”
Carlotta~
“Killing isn’t going to do any good!” Carlotta snapped.
Carlotta~
Sighing, and wondering why so many animals were jumping to Raven’s defense, Carlotta asked Elderberry (up until this point I kinda forgot Carlotta was still injured, oops!) “How long will I take to heal?”
~Elderberry~
“You should be feeling much better in a few days,” Elderberry replied, “But I suggest you take it easy for at least a week in order to give yourself time to heal properly.”
Carlotta~
Carlotta nodded. She trusted Elderberry’s judgement.
Jazzy~
“That’s great!” Jazzy said. She was happy Carlotta would be ok.
Willowbranch~
“I’m glad Carlotta will be ok.” Willowbranch said.
Wishspring~
Wishspring nodded. “I am, too.”
Molly~
Molly stifled a chuckle. She couldn’t remember if she’d EVER seen Carlotta take it easy!
Baby Pluto~
“What exactly got injured when Carlotta got stepped on?” Baby Pluto asked Elderberry.

~Tempest and someone else 😉 …~
Tempest was gazing round, when something caught her eye. It was a tail, swaying slightly.
Tempest nearly fainted when she saw who’s it was. “Oh my goodness…”
Suddenly Tamar’s ‘dead’ body shot up, and gasped in a huge breath of air. Then she collapsed on the floor again.
Baby Pluto~
“D-did that just…” Baby Pluto stammered, “How?……”
Jazzy~
Jazzy screamed.
Kordi~
“Shh!” Kordi told Jazzy, but she was as shocked as her friend.
Lucy~
“Jumping jellybeans!” Lucy exclaimed.
Molly~
“HOW IS TAMAR ALIVE?” the usually calm and collected Molly screeched.
Carlotta~
“Annnnnnnnnd we’re all screaming. What fun.” Carlotta said sarcastically.
Athena~
“So I guess we don’t need to have a trial?” Athena chirped.
(She’s a chirpy kitty. Just verifying she isn’t a bird. 😛 )
Wishspring~
“Ummm…” Wishspring blinked. How was this happening?
Willowbranch ~
“I guess now we can find out what REALLY happened.” Willowbranch said.
~Fireblaze~
With a gasp, Fireblaze stepped back. How could this be happening- maybe Tamar wasn’t dead after all? Could she have been knocked out? If Tamar was alive she could tell them what happened!
~Elderberry~
Elderberry rushed over to examine Tamar.
~Foliis~
“Uh…” Foliis stared at the wolf. “Is she…”
~Nyx~
Nyx half-smiled. “She was pretending to be dead. She couldn’t breathe whilst doing it, and she was going to die if she didn’t.”
Foliis raised her eyebrows. “Meaning?”
“She’s alive,” murmured Nyx. “She’s been alive this whole time, just pretending. She’s still alive, but unconscious. We need to get her to the hospital.”
~Foliis~
Foliis hopped over to her, and placed a cobweb on the wound. “There.”
Ash~
“This doesn’t make sense. None of it does! Seriously, WHAT IS GOING ON? Why was Tamar pretending to be dead? Who framed Raven?” Ash was freaking out.
“Is there someone evil among us?” she meowed.
“Is it feisty Fireblaze? Or maybe Molly? Is it Raven?”
Ash paced.
She HAD to know what had happened!
~Cody~
“It makes PERFECT sense,” argued Cody. “Someone attacked her, and she wanted to live, so she pretended to die so that no-one would kill her.”
She blinked as everyone stared at her.
She blushed. “I’ve been in these situations before, okay?”
Lucy~ (to Cody)
“Wow, really? That must have been some pickle!” said Lucy.
~Fireblaze~
Fireblaze flinched at Ash’s words. The last thing she needed was for animals to start suspecting her, but she was not about to show her nervousness.
A pang of relief rushed through her as she heard Molly speak up for her.
Molly~
“Ash, why would Fireblaze do this? Why would I? You’re just being paranoid.” Molly said.
Ash~
“Actually, if anyone did it, it was probably Carlotta. She’s shifty.” Ash said.
Carlotta~
“I appreciate the complement. But no, it wasn’t me.” Carlotta said.
Shade~
“Everyone’s freaking out.” Shade noted.
Stormy~
“Let’s stay out of the way.” Stormy mewed, who didn’t want to be in the middle of an argument.
Athena~
“Are you kidding?” Athena mewed. “This could be interesting! I’m staying.”
She curled up at Ash’s paws, and kept watching.
Shade~
“Come on, Stormy. If they start fighting with swords-“
Stormy~
“We don’t have swords!” Stormy meowed.
Shade~
Shade just flicked her black tail, and sat next to Athena.
Stormy~
“Fine. I guess it would be nice to know how this all turns out.” Stormy mewed, joining his sisters.
Ash~
“Kittens, just play out of the way.” Ash murmured. She really didn’t want them to get in the way. They might not understand most of this, anyway.
The kittens~
“Mother! We want to know what’s happening with Tamar!” mewed Athena.
Shade meowed, “Why’d she pretend to be dead? Why?”
Stormy said, “Well, at least THEY want to know what happened. I’m fine with playing.”
Ash~
“Alright.” sighed Ash.
“You can stay and watch.”
(This is easily one of the longest comments I’ve made on this role play!)
~Bree~
“I’ll watch them,” Bree said, and sat down next to the kits.
Ash~
“Thanks, Bree.” meowed Ash.
“Be good for Bree, alright?” she told her kits.
Shade~
“We’ll be good.” mewed Shade.
Athena~
“The goodest!” Athena said.
Ash~
Ash opened her mouth to tell Athena it was best not goodest but decided against it.
Stormy~
“Bye, Mother.” Stormy mewed.
~Jenny~ (to Ash)
Jenny noticed how panicky Ash was acting.
“Hey, Ash, I know this is concerning,” she said, coming to stand beside the cat, “but we’ve been through so much! We’ve figured everything out in the past,” she tried to make her voice sound cheerful, “We need to be patient, and then I’m sure we’ll figure this mystery out.”
The hen glanced at Ash’s kits, aware that Ash needed a distraction. “Why don’t you go check on them?” she said, “Bree’s watching them, but I’m sure it would be good for them to have their mother with them right now- they’re probably so confused. Just for a minute, to make sure they’re behaving, and then you can come right back to join the discussion!”
Ash~
“That sounds good,” meowed Ash, walking over to see what Bree, Athena, Shade, and Stormy were up to.
Shade~
Seeing her mother approaching, Shade happily mewed, “Mother!”
Ash~
“Thanks for taking care of the kits, Bree.” Ash meowed.
Athena~
“So what’s happening with Raven? And Tamar?” Athena asked.
Stormy~
“I heard an ambulance.” Stormy said.
Ash~
“Everything will be explained in time.” Ash mewed.
~Tempest~
Tempest glanced around. Everyone was shouting and accusing each other.
Suddenly she yowled. “EVERYONE, BE QUIET! The most important thing right now is that we get Tamar to the hospital while she is still breathing. Meanwhile we will ask Sheila what she thinks we should do about the current situation. Sound good?”
Jazzy~
“Sounds good.” Jazzy said, newfound respect for Tempest rushing through her.
Wow, she’s really good at get animals to listen to her! Jazzy thought.
Kordi~
“How badly is Tamar hurt, anyway?” Kordi asked.
~Fireblaze~
“I wasn’t the one causing this drama,” Fireblaze huffed, aware that she had been involved in the arguments just as much as anyone, “But yes, we do need to help Tamar- that’s important,” she said, her tone gentler and more serious now. “And I guess Sheila would be able to help make a plan,” she admitted, feeling a pang of jealousy that Sheila was the one animals came to with such problems and not her. What am I expecting, she convinced herself, I’m a teenager- not a lawyer! I wouldn’t even know the first thing about how to solve this, and the truth is I don’t want such responsibility. They’re right to trust Sheila.
~Jenny~
“That sounds like a good plan,” Jenny nodded, noticing how well Tempest had managed to get the situation under control. She herself tried, but she wouldn’t be able to get animals to calm down like that.
~Elderberry~
“Get Tamar into the ambulance,” Elderberry ordered, remembering when they had been doing the same thing with Raven. I hope this goes better than last time, she thought.
Honeywing~
Honeywing and xer mate Fuzzystar were new to town.
“We should probably go talk to the other animals.” Honeywing told Fuzzystar.
Fuzzystar~
“Look, there’s some animals over there.” Fuzzystar said. “They look kind of busy, though.” Noticing an ambulance, they added, “I think one of them might be hurt.”
Honeywing~
Honeywing mewed, “We should still introduce ourselves.”
Walking over, xe meowed, “Hi. My name’s Honeywing, and this is my mate. Their name is Fuzzystar.”
~Bree~
“Welcome to our town, Honeywing and Fuzzystar!” Bree said cheerfully, smiling at the newcomers.
Fuzzystar ~
“Thank you.” Fuzzystar meowed.
Honeywing~
“Um, what’s going on? We heard an a ambulance.” Honeywing said, concerned.
Lucy~
Hearing Honeywing’s question, Lucy ran over.
“I’m Lucy.” she said. “And one of us is hurt, but will be ok.”
Honeywing~
“That’s good to hear.” Honeywing
meowed.
EDIT: darn autocorrect, it thought I wanted to write Honeyfern instead of Honeywing 😛
(The autocorrect seems to like Honeyfern. Maybe it should join our Honeyfern fanclub 😛 )

Jazzy~
Jazzy stared at the ambulance, feeling sick to her stomach. Would Tamar be alright?
Kordi~
“Jazzy, it’s going to be alright,” Kordi said, watching her friend stare. She hated seeing Jazzy upset.
Jazzy~
“Will Tamar be alright?” Jazzy whispered.
Kordi~
“Elderberry’s a good doctor. You know that.” Kordi said.
Jazzy~
“Animals keep getting hurt.” Jazzy whimpered. “First Carlotta. Now Tamar. What’s next? Molly? Bree? Ash? Jenny? I can’t go through days like this, not knowing if I’ll see someone else I care about get hurt. We lost Athena.
“And every time I look at Ash’s daughter, Athena, I’m reminded of our fallen friend.
“Athena keeping Athena’s memory alive should make me happy,” Jazzy said, “but it makes me feel worse.”
Kordi~
“Jazzy, I’m sorry.” Kordi whispered. She had had no idea her friend was going through all of this.
“I want to help you.” she said.
Jazzy~
Tears filing her eyes, Jazzy shakily said, “I don’t think you can.”
Kordi~
“But I can try. I’ll be here for you.” Kordi’s blue tail rested on Jazzy’s shoulder.
Jazzy~
“You already are.” Jazzy said, gazing at her friend.
Kordi~
Kordi felt warm, and happy.
“Look!” she said, spotting newcomers.
Jazzy~
“Look, Bree and Lucy are talking to them! Let’s go say hi!” Jazzy said.
Baby Pluto~
“Hi, Jazzy. Hi, Kordi.” woofed Baby Pluto.
“Are you guys coming to meet the newcomers, too?”
Kordi~
“Yeah.” Kordi said.
Jazzy~
Intertwining her tail with Kordi’s, Jazzy said, “Come on, Baby Pluto, let’s go!”
Fuzzystar~
Fuzzystar turned and saw some more animals coming their way. A tiger, a lion, and a puppy.
Lucy~
“Oh, hey guys!” Lucy said. “Fuzzystar, Honeywing, these are Baby Pluto, Kordi, and Jazzy!”
Honeywing ~
“Hi.” Honeywing said.
Fuzzystar ~
“It’s nice to meet you.” Fuzzystar meowed, flicking their tail.
Stormy~
Stormy looked up at his mother with big eyes. “Why’s the siren so loud?” he mewed.
Shade~
“Mother, can you tell the siren to stop?”
Ash~
“The siren needs to be on.” Ash meowed. “So every animal knows to be out of the way.”
Athena~
“I’ll be a siren.” Athena declared.
Ash~
“No, that’s not-“ Ash was cut off as Athena, Stormy, and Shade all started making siren sounds.
Wishspring ~
Watching from a little bit away, Wishspring purred with amusement.
Willowbranch ~
“Kits can be so funny.” Willowbranch chuckled to Wishspring.
~Bree~
Amusement shone in Bree’s eyes. “You guys would make a good siren- I’m sure Elderberry would be happy to hire you,” she clucked through her laughter.
Athena~
“Really? Wow!” mewed Athena.
Shade~
“That’s awesome!” Shade purred.
Stormy~
“I think she was joking,” Stormy meowed, but his sister’s didn’t hear him.
Ash~
Ash softly purred with amusement as she watched her kits play.
She wished Aspen could see them now. She knew he’d be proud.
Carlotta~
“Nyx, what was it you said about Tamar being hurt as long as she needs to be?” Carlotta demanded. She’d seen confusion on Molly’s face, and knew that the cow suspected something fishy was going on.
Oscar~
“Now wait a moment!” Oscar meowed. “Carlotta, chap, how about you think this through?”
Carlotta~
“Something’s going on,” Carlotta insisted.
Lucy~
“Nyx? What exactly did you say?” Lucy asked, wondering why Carlotta was so worked up.
Kordi~
“I think Nyx’s exact words were ‘She will be hurt as long as she needs to be.‘“ Kordi said.
Jazzy~
“As long as she needs to be…” Jazzy murmured.
Molly~
Molly watched as some animals were helping Tamar get into the ambulance.
“How long do you think Tamar will be hurt?” she asked Carlotta.
Carlotta~
“I have no idea. I’m not a doctor.” Carlotta said.
Molly~
“True.” Molly admitted.
“Maybe I should ask Elderberry.”
~Nyx~
Nyx flew over. “She will be hurt as long as she needs to be.”
~Foliis~
Foliis watched in confusion, then brought Nyx into the ambulance. She glanced at Tamar, who was unmoving.
Molly~
Molly cocked her head in confusion.
Hurt as long as she needs to be? That kinda sounds like Nyx had something to do without all of this… Molly thought.
Oscar~
Oscar padded over. “It’ll be alright, chap!” he told Molly.
(I always imagined Oscar speaking with a British accent 😛 )
~Rain~
“I just hope she gets better very soon,” Rain murmurs.
Molly~
Molly nodded. “That’s the important thing,” she said, agreeing with Rain.
Shasta and Aravis~
Shasta and Aravis flew over the town side by side. Suddenly Aravis slowed, “I smell blood.” She said. Shasta nodded and they both dove down to the streets where they found a large group of animals, “An ambulance.” Shasta pointed out, “Yes, a lot of blood-scent is coming from over there but I also smell the same blood in a different spot.” Aravis sniffed the air, “Over here. C’mon.” They pushed through the crowd following the fainter smell of blood. Shasta stopped, “Its coming from that big cougar right there,” he pointed to Hurricane, “Lets go see what’s going on, from their view.” He trotted over to the cougar with Aravis right behind him.
~Hurricane~
Hurricane turned around. “Hello?”
~Dusty~
Dusty gazed around, her brown eyes filled with distress and her wings drooping. Walking up to Sandy, she flopped down beside her.
~Sandy~
“Dusty, are you okay?” Sandy stared at her sister with concern.
~Dusty~
“Tamar is injured…” Dusty whispered, “Animals are fighting… We still don’t know if Raven did this and yet we might falsely accuse her. I don’t think anything is okay.”
~Sandy~
Sandy pressed her beak comfortingly into Dusty’s feathers. “Oh, sis, I’m sure it’ll be alright,” she said optimistically, despite her own doubts, “Elderberry is a great doctor- she’ll do her best to help Tamar. As for Raven, I won’t let her be punished without proof.”
~Dusty~
“I won’t either,” Dusty murmured, “I’ll help you stand up for her- I won’t let you do this alone.” She leaned gratefully against her sister’s wing, soothed by her warmth.
Lucy~
Lucy happened to overhear a conversation between Dusty and Sandy. The sisters had been talking about standing up for Raven.
Walking over, Lucy said, “Dusty, Sandy, I think Raven is innocent as well. And I’ll stand by your side when you defend her.”
Carlotta~
Carlotta felt annoyed, seeing Lucy walk over to Sandy and Dusty. She knew that all three supported Raven, and believed her to be innocent.
Carlotta wasn’t sure where she personally stood on the whole Raven issue, but she wasn’t 100 percent sure that Raven was innocent…
~Nyx~
Nyx stared into Raven’s eyes, her ice gaze sinister.
~Raven~
Raven froze, caught in a trance. “I…” she mumbled.
Cody blinked. “What?”
“I… I killed Tamar.”
Baby Pluto~
Baby Pluto gasped. He’d been sitting a little further away, but was close enough to hear Raven’s words…
“How could you?” he barked, running over.
Oscar~
“We trusted you, chap!” Oscar meowed.
Honeywing~
“This town… has a killer?” Honeywing’s yellow and white fur bristled in fear as xe mewed, “Are we safe here?”
Fuzzystar ~
“It’ll be ok,” Fuzzystar whispered, intertwining their tail with Honeywing’s.
Ash~
Ash quickly made sure her kits were right next to her.
“We trusted you!” she yelled at Raven, her blue eyes furious.
Lucy~
“I defended you! I thought you were a good friend. You…a killer?” Lucy’s eyes filled with tears, and she turned away.
Willowbranch ~
“We should put you in jail!” Willowbranch said coldly to Raven.
Wishspring ~
Though angry, Wishspring stayed calm. The town had been through hard times before, they could do it again.
Molly~
Molly didn’t want to believe this. Yes, she’d been one of the animals who accused Raven, but… she had never wanted this.
Athena~
“Raven? You killed Tamar?” Athena mewed.
Stormy~
“Why? Killing is bad!” Stormy said.
Shade~
“It’s not nice at all!” Shade meowed.
Ash~
“Shh, kits.” Ash murmured.
Jazzy~
Jazzy turned to Kordi. The blue lion looked horrified.
Kordi~
“How……” Kordi whispered.
~Nyx~
Nyx suddenly remembered something, and stared at Raven again.
~Raven~
“I-I attacked her, and tried to kill her.”
~Hurricane~
Hurricane tilted his head slightly, and Nyx turned to look at him, her blue eyes burning into his. He suddenly understood.
Yuri walked up to Raven and sniffed the air around her.
There is no smell of blood on her fur! Yuri thought. Which mean it wasn’t her!
“Everyone, listen to me!” Yuri barked. “I found proof! Raven is not the killer! She does not smell of blood.”
She walked in front of everybody, sniffing the air as she passed each animal. As soon as she got to Hurricane, she suddenly paused. She looked at his claws, stained with blood and fur.
“But I think I know who did.”
~Tracey~
“But couldn’t she have washed off the blood by now?” Tracey pointed out, her cluck doubtful.
~Sandy~
“I don’t know…” Sandy told her friend, “I trust that Yuri knows what she’s talking about. And besides- dogs have a great sense of smell- she would detect some remain of it, even if Raven washed it off.”
~Dusty~
Dusty nodded in agreement with her sister, relieved that Raven wasn’t proven guilty just yet.
~Jenny~
Jenny looked thoughtful. She trusted Yuri, but why did Raven say she did it if she didn’t?
(Wow, as soon as Yuri comes into the story, things start getting resolved! 😛 😉 It’s good to have her (and Captain) back!)
Yuri gave a thoughtful nod towards the chicken sisters. Then, she turned to look Hurricane in the eyes, her own sparkling with determination.
“Now, Harikēn, I know you wonder why I stand in front of you. I need to ask a favor of you.”
Her voice was as quiet as a breeze on a warm spring day.
“Take me to the site of the ‘ambush’. Now.“
~Hurricane and Nyx~
Nyx gave a sly stare, and Hurricane nodded at Yuri. “If you must.”
Nyx suddenly flew beside Raven, and picked up some of her fur. She held it inside her thick feathers, and turned to Foliis. “I’m going to go. This is stressing me out.”
Foliis smiled, and Nyx flew away.
Right to where Tamar was hurt.
She scattered Raven’s fur around, and before anyone came, she flew back.
Yuri sniffed even more. Suddenly, she paused. It does smell of Raven here, but also of something else… like Nyx. This idea was useless! Luckily, I have a better plan that should work perfectly…
“We are going back. I must report my findings to the others.” Yuri sighed. “Harikēn, come.”
Silently wishing that Hurricane didn’t ask her any more questions, she bounded into the woods where she first emerged from.
~Hurricane~
Hurricane suddenly shuddered, a voice whispering in his head. He stopped, and turned to Yuri. “What findings, may I ask?”
“This is a private investigation, Harikēn. And at this moment, I do not want to announce my findings. I prefer to keep them private for now.” Yuri shook her head, turned around, and ran to the clearing, where the animals awaited anxiously.
~Cody~
Cody stepped forward. “Well?”
“Can Fireblaze step up, please?” Yuri asked.
This better work…
“All of you, listen up. When I call you, I need you to answer me. First, Fireblaze. Did Raven ever leave the clearing?”
~Fireblaze~
Hearing her name called, Fireblaze flinched at the thought of having to speak up about such an important topic, but she held her head high and came to stand next to Yuri, realizing that she was comforted by her friend’s presence.
“At one point I left the clearing,” Fireblaze admitted, remembering with a pang of regret how she had gone home to speak with her talking microwave, “So I don’t know what happened then. But while I was here her and Cody went hunting. That was the only time I saw her leave.”
“Alright. Thank you for your information, Fireblaze.” Yuri looked around until she spotted two other chickens. “Sandy, Dusty, what did you see while Fireblaze was away?” She kneaded the ground with her paws, anxious about what the sisters would say. I believe Raven was innocent. The general thought, Why is it so hard to prove her wrong?
~Sandy and Dusty~
Dusty was silent for a minute, nervousness flashing in the shy hen’s eyes. Noticing her discomfort, Sandy spoke for her sister, “Raven didn’t leave while Fireblaze was away and,” “Her and Cody were here that whole time,” now that she was less nervous Dusty finished Sandy’s sentence.
“That is good to know. You may return to your spots.” Yuri turned to Cody and Raven. Her muscles tensed as she spoke. She knew that there was no other animals to interrogate.
“Cody, Raven. Tell me the truth. Please.”
She spoke steadily, her eyes locked on Raven’s.
“Did you kill Tamar?”
~Raven~
Raven shook her head. “No.”
~Raven and Cody~
Raven and Cody nodded slowly.
(Hurricane washed his paws)
Jazzy~
Jazzy said to Kordi, “Do you really think Hurricane did it?”
Kordi~
“We’re about to find out. It could have been Hurricane, it could have not.” Kordi replied.
~Foliis~
Foliis leaned over to them. “Surely not! His sister just died!”
Jazzy~
“True.” Jazzy admitted, “but we can’t decide he’s innocent until we have strong evidence that he is.”
Wishspring ~
Wishspring meowed, “Hurricane is innocent until proven guilty.”
Willowbranch ~
“But he could just as easily be guilty!” Willowbranch told her mate.
Molly~
“Shh. Let’s just listen to Yuri,” Molly said.
Lucy~
“Yeah, that dog knows what’s up, if you catch my drift.” Lucy said.
Carlotta~
“Could Hurricane really be a killer?” Carlotta questioned.
Baby Pluto ~
“I trust him, but then again, I don’t know him terribly well.” Baby Pluto admitted.
Molly ~
“We all trust him.” Molly’s eyes blazed as she said, “But are we right to do so?”
~Tracey~
“I don’t know,” Tracey clucked nervously, “At this point, I don’t think I can trust anyone.” As soon as the words were out of her mouth Tracey knew she had made a mistake. “I’m sorry,” she whispered gently to her friends, “I do love you guys. And I didn’t mean you. I just think it’s best to be on the cautious side.”
Baby Pluto~
“It’s alright, Tracey.” Baby Pluto barked. He understood.
Shade~
“Mother, what’re we going to do if Hurricane is a killer?” Shade mewed.
Ash~
“Whatever happens, I’ll protect you.” Ash murmured.
She scooted as far away from Hurricane as she could, then suggested, “How about some milk?”
Athena~
As Athena kneaded her mother’s belly for milk, she realized with a jolt that her mother was scared about what might happen.
I will protect you too, Mother. she thought.
Stormy~
Stormy finished his milk, then started play-fighting with his sisters.
Oscar~
Oscar purred as he watched Ash’s kittens play.
“They’re so cute and fluffy, chap! Like me!” he mewed.
Ash~
“Oscar? I have something to ask of you.” Ash mewed.
Oscar~
“What?” Oscar asked.
Ash~
“Shade, Stormy, and Athena have no father figure. They need another adult cat in their lives to be that figure. I was wondering if you’d like to watch the kits sometimes.” Ash mewed, flicking her tail.
Oscar~
“I would love to, chap!” Oscar meowed.
Ash~
“Thanks.” Ash purred. “I love them, but sometimes I need a little break.”
Oscar~
Oscar gave Ash a nod, and sat down.
Jazzy~
Jazzy shuffled her paws. “Kordi,” she whispered.
Kordi~
“Yeah.” Kordi responded.
Jazzy~
“I don’t want to be in a town with a killer.” Jazzy confessed. “Ever since the whole thing with Tamar, I just-I can’t handle this. I’m afraid every day. And I don’t want to live like that.”
Kordi~
“Jazzy! Don’t talk that way! We will always protect you. I will always protect you.” she said quietly.
Jazzy~
“I know.” Jazzy buried her face into her friend’s shoulder. “I will always protect you. If Hurricane is evil, I’ll never let him hurt you.”
Kordi~
Kordi smiled, and said, “Thanks, Jazzy.”
Affection for her friend came rushing through her, and she purred.
(I’m trying to have Jazzy and Kordi be a little loveboat-ish, because I REALLY ship JazzyXKordi and I think they’re going to be a couple soon.)
Fuzzystar ~
“What do you think of all this?” Fuzzystar asked Honeywing.
Honeywing ~
“I’m not sure what to think. We’re new. We don’t know Hurricane like the others do. I can’t say if he’s a killer or no.” Honeywing mewed.
Fuzzystar ~
“I refuse to believe it.” Fuzzystar meowed, their blue eyes showing determination.
Honeywing ~
Honeywing purred, and xe meowed, “You always saw good in everyone.”
Xe intertwined xer tail with Fuzzystar’s. At least whatever happened, they’d have each other.

“Hurricane is clearly guilty!” Carlotta shouted, then waited to see what everyone else would say.
Yuri glanced sideways at Hurricane. “That is all we need to know. Thank you, Raven. Thank you, Cody.”
She finally stepped up to the massive cougar. “Give it up, Harikēn. We know it was you. There is enough evidence for that fact to be proven true.” She growled under her breath.
~Fireblaze~
Fire’s hackles raised and a hostile gleam flickered in her eyes as she looked at Hurricane. She didn’t trust him- she couldn’t. She trusted Yuri.
~Dusty~
Dusty pressed closer to Sandy
~Tracey~
“How do you know?” Tracey said.
Carlotta~
“Yuri’s right. Hurricane is guilty. He must go to jail!” Carlotta said.
Molly~
“Do we even have a jail in this town?” Molly asked. “I don’t recall ever having to lock someone up.”
Lucy~
“You’re going to be locked up for a long time, Hurricane!” Lucy informed Hurricane, her tail swishing back and forth.
Willowbranch ~
“Once Hurricane is locked up, I guess we can all stop worrying.” Willowbranch said to Wishspring.
Wishspring ~
Wishspring licked her mate’s ear. “I never thought Hurricane would be a threat to us, to this town. His betrayal is heartbreaking.” Wishspring murmured.
Willowbranch ~
“It’ll be ok.” Willowbranch assured the other she-cat.
~Nyx~
Before Hurricane could say anything, Nyx slowly walked forward. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. We’re blaming… Hurricane? I like the guy, but he’s not the brightest firefly in the forest. This plan must have been made by someone… cleverer than Hurricane, hmmm?”
~Raven~
Raven felt dizzy. Tamar. Hurricane. Hurricane’s betrayal. The numb feeling when she had announced she attacked Tamar. She glanced over at Hurricane. His eyes were duller than usual. The way Nyx had said those words, it was like she wasn’t speaking to Yuri. Like she was speaking to Hurricane.
Suddenly it all made sense. Raven nearly fell over onto Cody.
Cody helped her up. “I know Hurricane’s betrayal gave us all-”
“Stop,” Raven interrupted. “Hurricane didn’t.” She lifted a paw weakly to point at Nyx. “But she did.”
~Cody~
“What?”
~Nyx~
Nyx’s beak slowly formed a smirk. “Got me.” She suddenly rose high into the air, out of reach of any of the animals. She winked. “Now let’s see if you can catch me.”
~Hurricane~
Hurricane suddenly collapsed, unconscious.
~Cody~
“What’s happening?” yelled Cody. “I’m so confused!”
~Raven~
Raven turned to Cody. “Hypnotism!” explained Raven. “She was hypnotising everyone!”
~Cody~
“I’d be impressed if it wasn’t so diabolical!” Cody continued to yell.
Ash~
“W-What?” Ash whispered. “It was NYX?”
Athena~
“Mother, I’m scared.” Athena says.
Shade~
“You’re so bad!” Shade yells at Nyx.
Stormy~
Stormy whimpers.
Ash~
Ash shakes. She’s terrified.
~Fireblaze~
Fireblaze felt a rush of anger, fear, and confusion. She wanted to yell at Nyx, to tell her how she felt about this, but knew fully well that with the owl’s mysterious hypnotism it was best to stay silent and as hidden as possible.
~Sandy and Dusty~
The sisters gazed around the town as they wondered what would happen next. Most likely no one knew what would be done with Hurricane, assuming he was guilty.
“I don’t understand…” Dusty whispered, making sure only her sister could hear, “I trust Yuri, but is Hurricane really guilty?” she looked at the cougar nervously and pressed closer to Sandy. “I’m scared. I don’t understand, and I’m scared.”
Sandy stared at her sister. Her cluck was confused and desperate that Sandy’s heart aced with pity for her sister. And for the rest of the town. They were all scared. Sandy was scared, too. She threw her wings around Dusty, allowing herself to be comforted by her closeness.
They met each other’s gaze, knowing that nothing needed to be said. Both already knew what the other was thinking- as long as we’re together, It’ll be okay.
Suddenly, Yuri broke through the bushes, other animals behind here. “Sandy! Dusty! Run, please, it was not Hurricane… we need to go, now! There is no time for explanation!”
~Dusty~
Her eyes wide with fear, Dusty grabs Sandy’s wing and races after Yuri, dragging her sister along behind her.
Molly~
Molly’s voice shook as she asked, “What’re we going to do, Yuri? Is this town even safe anymore?”
(Also, Captain, I’m really glad that you (and Yuri <3 ) are back, but I thought you had to leave the Blog? Did your parents decide it was ok?)
“I do not know, Molly. After all of this? I think it might just be time to leave this town. I mean…” Yuri hesitated. “There has been too much violence over here, even for me. One after another after another…” Yuri paused to scratch her ear anxiously. “And what about you? You deserve the best. All of you do. And we can not get that if violence follows us everywhere!”
Suddenly, Yuri paused. Violence follows us everywhere… and it was all peaceful before… before I came.
Yuri sighed. “I do not know. I think… I think that it is time for me to leave. Forever.”
(Heh heh, no. 😛 As you might notice, this is kind of a farewell from the roleplay. I really can’t disobey my parents any longer. It really does break my heart, though.)
~Fireblaze~
Fireblaze felt a lump form in her throat. For once not trying to keep the sadness out of her expression, she walked up to her friend, her usually firm amber eyes shining with sorrow.
The young hen wanted to protest- to beg her friend to stay, but deep inside she trusted that Yuri’s decision had to be for the best. After all, she trusted Yuri.
So instead, Fire bravely met Yuri’s gaze for the last time and accepted what had to happen.
“I will miss you, Yuri,” she clucked, fighting to keep the tears from her voice, “I will never forget you.” she looked around at the faces surrounding them, “We all will. We will never forget you.”
Shaking off the sorrow she felt, Fire straightened her shoulders and stared over Yuri’s head at the setting sun. She took a deep breath, her amber eyes reflecting the bright red of the sky and revealing the hen’s burning determination despite the pain she was feeling. “I will end the violence,” she vowed. As she heard her words ring out clearly across the clearing, she knew what a huge promise she was making, and yet she was determined that she would succeed.
Then she let go of the toughness which weakened her, and buried her face in Yuri’s fur, allowing willingly for a single tear to roll down her wattle.
“I love you, my friend. I will always remember you, and during my mission to bring back the peace I will strive to do exactly as you would do.”
Molly~
“Oh, Yuri.” Molly whispered. She knew that her friend had to follow her heart.
“We’ll never forget you. I’ll think of you every day. You’ll be with us in our hearts, Yuri. I promise.”

Tempest shook her head. “Not another drama.”
She turned to Yuri, Raven, and Molly. “Help me get this big lump into the ambulance.
She leaned closer to Elderberry and Foliis. “We need medicine for these two unconscious lovebirds.”
Tempest walked over to Ash. “Protect the kits and cubs.”
Tempest yowled. “Everyone else, get that owl!”
Ash~
Ash nodded. “Kits, cubs, I need you to stay right here with me. It’ll be ok, you’ll see.”
Ash was still scared, but knew she had to be brave for her kits and for the cubs.
Stormy~
“I’m afraid.” Stormy whispered.
Athena~
“Don’t worry! We can be brave!” Athena assured her brother.
Shade~
“The others will beat Nyx! And we will all be safe soon!” Shade mewed happily.
Lucy~
Lucy hissed, “We’ll grind that TRATOR up into paper if that what it takes to make this town safe!”
Molly~
“She will never hurt any of us again.” Molly vowed.
Carlotta~
Carlotta charged towards Nyx, and bit her leg.
Oscar~
“You’re a very evil chap! I don’t like you!” Oscar yowled to Nyx. He started growling, his brown tabby fur bristling.
Jazzy~
Jazzy lunged for Nyx, hoping to injure the owl in some way.
Kordi~
Kordi hissed, “Nyx. You trator. How could you do this?” She slashed at the owl’s wing.
Honeywing ~
Xer fur on end, Honeywing charged toward Nyx.
Fuzzystar ~
Unsheathing their claws, Fuzzystar whispered, “This is where your reign of terror ends, Nyx.”
Willowbranch ~
Willowbranch circled Nyx. She glared at the owl, her eyes angry.
Wishspring ~
“Stay near me.” Wishspring warned Willowbranch. She didn’t want her mate getting hurt.
Baby Pluto ~
Watching the fight from next to Ash, Baby Pluto couldn’t help but feel frustrated.
He knew that he was too small and young to fight, but he still wanted to help.
But since he couldn’t, he just silently wished, Let everyone be ok.
~Fireblaze~
Fire stared after Nyx, her amber eyes narrowed. Once we catch her, she’s in huge trouble!
~Sandy~
“Dusty, stay back,” Sandy told her sister, “I’ll go help get Nyx, but I don’t want you getting hurt.”
~Dusty~
“But, Sandy, you can’t-” Dusty protested, but the yellow hen was already out of hearing range, racing after the owl.
~Nyx~
Nyx stopped, mid-air. “My reign of terror? Thank you very much.” She looked quite pleased with herself. She flew higher, and Honeywing’s claws caught her tail tip. She shook herself, feather flying away.
Lucy~
Lucy leapt up, trying to catch Nyx.
“Help me pull her down!” she called to the others.
~Nyx~
Nyx darted out of reach, humming a haunting melody.
~Cody~
Cody leapt up as well, hissing. “Get back here!”
~Tuft~
Tuft glanced around anxiously, then ran as fast as he could away from Ash and to Nyx. He shouted. “Attack her from her left side! She’s hurt her wing there!”
~Jenny~
Jenny ran up to the group of animals, holding an old blanket. “Here, we can trap her in this,” she suggested.
~Sheila~
“Good idea,” Sheila nodded.
Jazzy~
Jazzy saw what Tuft meant: Nyx’s left wing was certainly hurt.
The tiger slashed the wing with her claws, and roared.
~Nyx~
Nyx tried to fly away quickly. She was too late. Her wing was sliced, and blood welled out of it. She gasped in pain, and tried fly to the nearest rooftop.
Kordi~
“It’s too late. You can’t escape.” Kordi said.
~Slash~
Slash leaped up on the rooftop, using some bricks that were stacked near the building as a ladder.
She ran towards Nyx, hoping to chase the owl down to the animals. To prevent herself from getting hypnotized, Slash held her shield in front of her face.
~Nyx~
Nyx dodged the chicken, but fell off of the roof, tumbling towards the ground beneath her. Still she hummed her melody.
Carlotta~
Carlotta watched as Nyx fell, wondering if she’d survive falling from that high.
Lucy~
“Gosh.” Lucy murmured as she watched Nyx fall.
Molly~
Molly felt nervous. She didn’t really like Nyx, knowing that the owl was evil, but she didn’t really want her to die!
Willowbranch ~
“That’s a long fall.” Willowbranch commented.
Wishspring ~
“One she’s unlikely of surviving.” Wishspring said.
Jazzy~
“Is it weird that I’ll be sad if Nyx dies? She’s evil, but was my friend at one point.”
Kordi~
“It’s not weird. But she may not die.” Kordi said.
~Raven~
Raven glanced over, then did a double take. “Oh, for the love of-”
She leapt up, and caught the owl gently in her teeth. Landing lightly, she spat Nyx out, choking on feathers.
~Cody~
Cody prodded Nyx with a claw. “Talk.”
Honeywing ~
“Tell us everything.” Honeywing demanded.
Fuzzystar ~
“And don’t lie.” Fuzzystar meowed.
Molly~
“First of all, how can you hypnotize animals? How is that possible?” Molly asked.
~Nyx~
Nyx smirked. “Hypnotism is possible, my dear Molly. And it’s something I’ve always possessed.”
Carlotta~
“How? How have you always had this ability? And why would you control your allies? We trusted you!” Carlotta said.
Oscar~
“You were our friend! How could you let us down like this?” Oscar mewed.
~Nyx~
Nyx narrowed her eyes. “I was planning something bigger. These were all tests, to see how quickly you could turn against one another.”
She looked around mockingly. “Everything that’s gone wrong in this town has been my doing.
Athena’s death. I gave her poison before.” Tuft, Umbra and Fur all gasped, horrified.
“Hurricane strangling Raven. I hypnotised him.”
Cody curled her lip.
“Everything, it’s always been me.”
Jazzy~
“You…you…” Jazzy snarled.
Kordi~
“Jazzy, keep it PG.” Kordi murmured. The last thing she needed was Ash’s kits picking up swear words.
Lucy~
“YOU killed Athena?” Lucy asked, horrified.
~Fireblaze~
Feeling dizzy, Fireblaze gasped. “You… you won’t get away with this, Nyx,” she murmured softly. Staggering from shock, she felt Rain’s wing steadying her, and didn’t protest as she thoughtof what to do.
Honeywing ~
Honeywing turned away, feeling sick. Xe could not believe this!
“Fuzzystar… how could this be?” xe whispered.
Fuzzystar ~
Intertwining their gray tail with Honeywing’s yellow and white one, Fuzzystar murmured, “It’ll be ok. You don’t need to be afraid, dear. I’m here for you.”

“We are smart. You are the one who isn’t smart.” Wishspring said.
Molly ~
“Did you really think we wouldn’t be able to defeat you?” Molly asked, trying to sound braver than she felt.
Walk Without The Stars~Nyx~
Nyx rolled her eyes at Wishpring. “If that were true, Athena would still be here.”
~Tuft~
Tuft launched himself at her, screeching in anger.
Fur held him back, his head hanging.
Wishspring ~
Wishspring kept glaring at Nyx. Her voice steady, she said, “Never mock Athena again.”
Walk Without The Stars~Nyx~
Nyx tilted her head tauntingly, speaking in the same tone as Wishspring. “Or what? If you kill me, I will always return.” She glared around the town square. “As a cat. A fox. A lizard. A fish.”
Jazzy –
Jazzy, losing all control, screamed. “I hate you! Why did you do this to us? I can’t even with you! I want you to just die! Burn up in hell where you belong, you stupid pathetic waste!” screeched Jazzy, tears streaming down her face.
Carlotta –
“I agree!” Carlotta yelled.
Kordi –
“Guys, calm down. I’m just as angry as you. But we need to stay calm.” Kordi said.
Jazzy –
Jazzy felt ashamed, losing her temper in front of Kordi.
I think I care about her… more than as a friend. I think I’ve always known this. But with Nyx, do we even stand a chance at surviving? Jazzy thought.
Lucy –
“So every time you die, you’re born again?” Lucy asked Nyx, cocking her head.

Molly looked at Nyx right in the eyes.
“I’m not afraid of you. Deep down, all you are is evil. But evil isn’t a reason to be scared. I’m way more afraid of losing my friends than I am of you, or even dying. And if I need to sacrifice myself for you to end, I will.” she said.

Nyx narrowed her eyes. “Good luck with that.”

Cody glanced around. “So, what are we going to do with her?”

“She should be locked up!” Tracey exclaimed.

“We should send her out of town, and forbid her to return!” Oscar meowed, his pale green eyes showing anger.

Tempest raised one eyebrow. “She’d come back anyway!”

“Kill her!” roared Tuft.
Carlotta –
“Stab her until her blood covers the sidewalk!” Carlotta said.
Honeywing-
Honeywing cocked xyr head. “That would be pretty gross to watch,” xe commented.

Rain felt a pang of sympathy for the owl. Yes, she’d done a lot of very, very bad things, but Rain still couldn’t bear to make her suffer. It felt wrong. “There must be some other way…” she protested.

Raven shook her head. “No. No.”

“Lock her up?”
Molly –
“Do we have a jail here?” Molly asked.

Cody shrugged. “I’m sure we can find some kind of cage or something.”
Carlotta –
“But she could escape! Nyx is clever. Almost too clever. How do we know that she doesn’t have a plan to escape?” Carlotta asked.
Willowbranch-
“We don’t know. But even if there is the smallest chance that we can defeat her, I will take it,” Willowbranch mewed.
Wishspring-
“Yes! I agree,” Wishspring yowled, agreeing with her mate.

Nyx laughed. “I love how you always end up complimenting me when you’re trying to insult me.”

“There hasn’t been much criminal activity here in the past, therefor we never thought a jail would be necessary,” Sheila explained, a trace of regret in her eyes.
Honeywing –
“How much time would it take to build one?” Honeywing asked.
Fuzzystar –
Sighing, Fuzzystar meowed, “Even if we started right now, it would STILL take a while.”
Lucy –
Is this it? Is this where the town ends? We are powerless, COMPLETELY powerless against Nyx. Lucy thought.
Her tail twitched nervously.

Cody bit her lip, racking her brains. “Um…” She glanced around. “I don’t know.”
Ash~
Watching from afar, Ash thought, Be careful. Please don’t die. I already lost Aspen- I cannot lose my friends.
She stroked her kittens’ heads with her tail. “It’ll be ok.” she said.
Stormy~
“What if they can’t beat Nyx? What if she destroys us all?” Stormy mewed.
Athena~
“I won’t let her destroy us!” Athena meowed, her tail slashing back and forth.
Shade~
“Don’t worry, Stormy.” Shade assured her brother.
Ash~
At least Athena and Shade weren’t worried. Ash licked Stormy’s head to comfort him, softly purring.
Baby Pluto ~
“We’re all going to be alright. I promise.” Baby Pluto said. He had to believe it. Even if the chance of surviving seemed slim.
Ash~
“I’ll protect you all. I promise.” Ash said.
Kordi –
Kordi started backing away from Nyx. “I- I can’t handle this right now. I’m sorry, but I’m too stressed to deal with this right now,” she stammered to her friends.
She turned and fled.
Jazzy –
“Kordi! Wait!” Jazzy called, running after the blue lion.
You don’t need to be afraid. Let me help you. she thought.
Kordi –
“Jazzy.” Kordi said. She wanted to say, Go away. You can’t help me. Nobody can.
But that wasn’t exactly true. She swallowed, hard.
Jazzy –
“We can face Nyx together, with our friends by our sides.” Jazzy said. She reached out, putting her tail on Kordi’s shoulder.
Kordi –
“Your flower is crooked.” Kordi gasped. She adjusted the flower that Jazzy wore behind her ear.
Jazzy –
“Please come back to the meeting.” Jazzy softly whispered.
Kordi –
“I will. I’m sorry. I was stressed and scared, but I shouldn’t have ran off.” Kordi apologized.
Jazzy –
“Kordi…” Jazzy said.
Kordi –
“Yes, lo- Jazzy.” Kordi stammered. I almost called her love. But I do love her.
Jazzy –
“Thank you. For everything. You’re an amazing friend- my best friend.
And I’m happy to have you by my side, through thick and thin.” Jazzy said.
Kordi –
“Why does this sound like goodbye?” Kordi whispered.
Jazzy –
Jazzy blinked. “It’s not a goodbye. I promise. It’s the beginning of something more… if you want it too.”
Kordi –
“What is it?” Kordi asked.
Jazzy –
“Nyx is slowly tearing our lives apart. So I may not get another chance to say this.
“But I’m going to say it now. I… I love you, Kordi. I think I always have, but I was afraid to admit it to you… and to myself.” Jazzy said.
Kordi –
“Jazzy… that’s how I feel.” Kordi whispered.
Jazzy –
Jazzy’s heart pounded, but not with fear. This was where she belonged… wherever Kordi was.
Kordi –
“Let’s get back to the others,” Kordi said.
Jazzy-
Jazzy and Kordi walked back to the meeting, tails intertwined. Jazzy wondered if any of the others noticed the love in their gaze.
We can tell them after Nyx is sorted out. Jazzy thought.

Cody thought harder than she’d ever thought before. Then she turned to Raven. “I’m going to need you to get marigold, cobwebs and leaves.” Cody felt tears forming in her eyes. She had sworn never to do something like this again. Cody glanced around. “If she’s going to hypnotise animals, she’ll need to see, right?”
~Raven~
Raven stepped forward. “Cody, you can’t seriously be-”
~Cody~
Cody shut her eyes, and slashed at Nyx’s eyes. Blood started pouring out of them. Cody turned to Raven who was standing there, stunned. “Quick, give me the marigold!”
She started rubbing marigold gently into the wounds, and then pressed cobwebs and leaves onto it.
She sighed. “Done.”

Stormy –
Stormy squeaked, “She looks so weird with all that blood!” he gave Nyx a sniff.
Ash –
Ash mewed, “Stormy, stay away. Nyx may be blind, but I don’t want you near her.”
Athena –
“Cody has such courage to do what she did!” Athena whispered to Shade.
Shade –
“Yeah! I don’t think I would be that brave.” Shade agreed.
Baby Pluto-
Feeling sick to his stomach, Baby Pluto stared at the now blind Nyx.
“That’s a lot of blood.” he whispered.
Oscar –
Oscar took a step back. “I don’t want any blood on my paws, chap!” he meowed.
Carlotta –
“Well! That solved a lot of problems, Cody.” Carlotta said.
