Bramblepaw wonders how important was Sol in the Warriors world?

Before I go ahead with this article, I just want to say SPOILERS for Eclipse and the Omen of the Stars arc.
Sol. The so called “traveller” that almost split ShadowClan apart due to him manipulating Blackstar to ban the belief of StarClan. Right now we think of him as manipulative and, in a sense, evil. But this might change the way you see Sol- and Eclipse.
Sol first appeared (chronologically) in the SkyClan and the Stranger manga trilogy. I have not read the book myself, but based on the Warriors Wiki (warriors.wikia.com) article I read on it, Sol is in it. Here is what he did: he gave a sob story, joined SkyClan, and got exiled from SkyClan. Ok. Now there is a period of time where we do not see Sol. Why? What could have happened?
As we can see in the new book Darkest Night (spoilers) StarClan has the power to give powers to a cat outside of the Clans. They could have done the same with Sol. Well, not exactly powers per se, but a message. A purpose. This is the theory that will change the way you look at Sol.
In Eclipse we see Sol make his first appearance. He reveals that a great darkness is coming. Then the eclipse happens. Everyone assumes that that is what Sol meant. Even Sol himself. But what if I told you… Sol did not refer to the eclipse at all… that it was just a coincidence… that Sol actually meant… THE DARK FOREST!!
When Sol was travelling he could have received a message from StarClan begging him to give this message. This was a warning to start preparing for a great battle before it began. StarClan chose Sol because he had some experience with Clan cats, kind of like Tree. Sol realized that this might give him power, a Clan status. So he did what he was told to do. But the Clans took it the wrong way.
Sol might have had an idea. Cats who do not believe in StarClan probably do not believe in the Dark Forest. So he tried his best to make it so the cats had no belief whatsoever. No belief, no manipulation by the Dark Forest. This could have helped the Clans dodge a huge bullet.
In conclusion, Sol might not have been evil at all! He was a loner with a purpose that was overshadowed by the Clans’ beliefs and faiths in the ancestors that could have given him permission to manipulate the Clans to not believe in for their own good later on. In other words, StarClan gave Sol a second chance based on the reactions of Clan cats. This could be a huge plot point on any future novellas that have Sol in it as the main character.
Good bye, and, as always, may StarClan light your path!
Wow this is a cool theory! However, there are some reasons why it’s not true. Sol said in the Forgotten Warrior that he was on a mission to destroy the Clans. How could he be protecting them if he wanted to destroy them? And why would StarClan give him powers in light of this? Also, at one point it’s said somewhere (I have no idea where) that Midnight told Sol about the Clans, so that’s why he knew so much about them. She probably also told him about the eclipse. But it would have been cool this way 😀
Ha I’m too lazy to type up a long comment like this while all I’m going to say is that I agree with Cheetah. Nice theory!
Cool, and I think that Sol might actually appear in Warriors series 7, and the name is THE BROKEN CODE, so there might be a chance that Sol might appear again in the Broken Code, if Sol is still alive.
I personally think that Sol was just salty about not being good enough for SkyClan. I think he just guessed when he said ‘A great darkness will come’, because he understands that there cannot be light without darkness. Maybe he guessed that something dark and sinister would happen, like it has in the past and will in the future, and used it to his advantage.
But your theory is really neat, too! In one book, I don’t remember which, StarClan is yelling at Midnight for telling Sol about the clans. Perhaps Midnight told him about the coming darkness, and he delivered the message.
Interesting I get what you are saying but if you have read Skyclan and the stranger sol stole Leafstars kits so if you think about it he is still evil. Also, he probably was referring to the eclipse as he use to be a kittypet so he understand some words of human language so he may have heard them talking about the eclipse also he got knowledge from midnight. And the dark forest battle was very far away eclipse was from the arc power of three not from omen of the stars.
Wow! This is a great theory! You have done well, I now have a different opinion on Sol.
this is a really cool thought!
Interesting article. Not quite sure what to think, but I don’t think Sol was a good cat. He manipulated and was a total coward and he did all that for revenge because he couldn’t become a warrior after two days in SkyClan.
Interesting article 🙂
I love the theory, but I believe that canonically, Midnight told Sol about the eclipse, not StarClan. 🙂
Interesting article! I’ve never thought of this before 😆! It’s a nice theory! Actually, I think Sol is cool, but I still prefer him as an evil cat more than a good cat with a mission 😉. And I hope he’ll appear in the books again later 😺.
(Please delete this comment if my original one is still there. It disappeared on my phone for some reason 😛.)
Ooh, cool theory! I kinda doubt it though, since Sol was on a mission to destroy the clans, and wasn’t trying to help them. He got the information of the eclipse from Midnight, I think. But anyways, nice article! 😀
Interesting idea, but I have to say, I don’t think so.
This is a really cool article, Bramblepaw! I never thought about this before. Awesome article! 😀
